This might be one my of new favorite places. Anytime I feel the urge to eat some BBQ Marks will be my first choice. We walked in during peak dinner hours and had no wait! Our server was great and our food came out at a reasonable speed. The place had a very welcoming and comfortable feel. The pork BBQ was fantastic. The sauce was very satisfying as well. They had a long list of side items (my favorite being the corn on the cob).

Early dinner finally using a gift card we got for last Christmas. Fried pickles are my fav. BF got the world's biggest BBQ sandwich. Wow, it was huge! He couldn't finish it all. I picked mac & cheese for my side with my rib basket.... Wish I hadn't, looked better than it tasted. Service was pretty good. Our food came out quick, hot and tasted good and fresh.

Mark's has catered a coupld of company lunches and the food has always been pretty good, but I never really considered going to the restaurant for some reason. Maybe because the location is convenient, but a little out of the way and not where I think to get BBQ. I should have tried it earlier. As we entered the barn (well, it looks like a barn, but it is in a strip mall), we were quickly seated. Rather than waiting for the rest of our party to arrive (which they never did), the three of us who showed up on time ordered quickly off the fairly simple lunch menu. The prices were reasonable and there was enough selection without being overwhelming. Our server was prompt and helpful; offering advice on selections when needed and keeping my drink filled at all times. The pulled pork sandwich was alright, but a little dry even after adding BBQ sauce (3 types are available at the table). The sides were the highlight, though. Even simple green beans got the full flavor treatment. And the sweet potato fries? Nailed it! Best I've had in a long time.

Fyi, out of towners can't find you since your yelp map shows your restaurant is a mile from where it is. We wanted to try it but only found it on accident after we'd already eaten.

We went to Marks today for an early dinner. It's one of our favorites, the food was great although the service was terrible. 3 tables in the place the female server had one, Nick had 2, I was totally disappointed he came to our table 3 times..... Should have been 5-6

I like their burgoo. A lot. Their corn and macaroni/cheese is also amazing. Pretty much a great meal. Not sold on the price but due to having "kids eat free" nights im sold. I'd love it if they had better side options and their menu was a little more informative.

Well, first of all. I am giving one single star for the simple fact that the young gentleman as hostess was fantastic. He was very well mannered, soft spoken, and all around polite. That is about where it stops. I've eaten at Marks (different locations and this one) on numerous occasions. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at one of their locations. Our server-She was not up to par. She seemed like maybe she hadn't been there long or she just really didn't care about her service. She just seemed to be doing the bare minimum of what is expected of a server. She only came to our table to get our drinks and app, food order, then once more to see if we needed refills. After that she finally came to give our bill. The meal-Oh my goodness. This is where it gets even worse. Like I said previously, I've been to Marks a number of times. This time the food was very weird for me. The fried pickles tasted normal. Got my pulled pork sandwich and fried corn. Um, no thanks! The pulled pork had a mushy texture which has never happened in my experience. They also added their "orange" BBQ sauce which has never happened before. Making it very difficult for me actually taste the BBQ that I came for. Next up, the fried corn. I honestly did not know anyone could mess up corn period, but it's obvious they did. I took a few bites and thought "hmmm, this taste like absolutely nothing". I didn't say anything about it until the hubby ate a bite of his because honestly at this point I thought my taste buds must've been off. Sure enough, the hubby takes a few bites and had a confused look on his face. He said the same thing. It was very tasteless. There really was no point in continuing to eat it, as it didn't taste like anything. Lastly-other servers. I swear I've never had this experience in my life. From the time I walked in to the time I left there were two servers (not our own) that glared at me the entire time. I began to wonder if I had something on my face. They gawked and talked. I was extremely uncomfortable. That doesn't happen often as I am a person who is very outgoing and will talk to complete strangers on a daily basis. I just didn't get it. They gawked, talked, and rolled their eyes at me. I have NO IDEA who these girls are. I would have much rather them ask me if they knew me or not, than what they did. Overall this experience was so bad, I HIGHLY doubt I will ever return to this location.

We recently went to Marks Feed Store for lunch. There were 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 children. It was peak lunch time and the place was packed. Our name was immediately taken and there was bench seating in the wait area available. They told us the wait would be about 10 minutes and it was. We were seated in one of the larger corner booths. Our server was prompt in getting our drink order and also explaining questions we had about the menu options. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer. They were hot, crisp and came with 2 options of dips. The serving was large enough for all 8 of us to have several. The lunch menu offers some specials on barbeque sandwiches pork, chicken, or brisket(a little more for this) and 1 or 2 sides. Or you can get just the barbeque pork, chicken, or brisket without being on a sandwich. The barbeque comes plain and you have 3 choices of sauce to add. The barbeque is tender and good enough to eat without any sauce if that is the way you like it. They also have ribs, chicken tenders and fried fish on the menu but we all went for the barbeque. The side choices are, in my opinion, where their menu stands out. They have potato salad, baked sweet potato, sweet fried corn on the cob, baked beans, chicken pasta salad, baked apples, baked potato, cole slaw, fries or chips. I love the fried corn on the cob and the baked apples. My son-in-law always gets the sweet potato and spicy fries. When the server asked us about dessert, we were pleased to find out that it was "free" dessert day. I had the buttermilk pie which was very good. The kids had the ice cream sundaes. My daughter-in-law had the buttermilk crunch which came with ice cream, caramel and nuts. The prices were reasonable with lunch costing about $7.00 each. The service was good, the food was good. I highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

The brisket and their 'Original Sauce' is excellent. They have also turned me into a true fried pickle convert. The Brisket has a great season, and is not 'overdone' with gobs of wet sauce thrown over an excellent cook, but instead it is left to the dinner to decide on how much 'wet' they want. The selection of at least 10 different sides had me trying a few things I've never eaten - deep fried corn on the cob for one - and I've found myself delighted each time I've gone. The serving sizes seem to be 'spot on' , unless you overdo it on appetizers and sides.

Buttermilk pie: Heaven that tastes like creme brûlée with the upper crust a sugary crisp that melts at the tip of the tongue and the filling a creamy richness that doesn't go away until you take the next bite. They might as well call it "leche-ry in heaven" for provoking such sinful indulgence.

Had an excellent dinner there last night. Started with the onion straws which were awesome. For the main course I had the pulled pork sandwich - country sized - which is a larger portion and the potato salad. The bread on the sandwich was warm and soft. The pork itself was cooked perfectly and was warm all the way through. Very tender and moist. My meal was excellent. The only recommendation would be for them not to add bbq sauce in the kitchen and allow the customer to choose their own sauce and quantity thereof at the table. Besides that, cant complain and have yet to find a better all around bbq spot in this area.

How many stars do you give a place where the food is eh but the dessert is out of this world? That is my dilemma with Marks. I've been there twice and both times the barbeque failed to impress me. The barbeque chicken sandwich is essentially just plain chicken with their traditional barbeque poured on top of the chicken. In other words the chicken isn't marinated in the barbeque. The sandwich doesn't have another other toppings like cheese etc. Their fries are well seasoned but I don't love my sides being limited to fries, coleslaw, and toast. I'm kind of partial to places like Famous Daves where I can get mashed potatos or mac and cheese with my meal. So, I might have given them 2-3 star. However, this time I went with my boyfriend who ordered us a slice of buttermilk pie for $1.99 at the end of our meal. Not being a southerner I'd never eaten buttermilk pie before and it was among the best things I have ever eaten. That pie changed my mind from "I'll probably never eat here again" to "I'll be back for another slice of this pie". Just thinking about it makes me wonder if I could go in and order a whole pie to go....

I'm not going to say this is the best BBQ I've ever eaten but for a chain store it's really good. The staff here is very friendly and the Rib's, fried pickles and fries are all excellent.

I've eaten at Mark's twice so far and had the ribs, chicken, smoked prime rib, beans and potato salad. The ribs and chicken were good with a nice smokey flavor. The only chicken on the menu seems to be chicken breast but it was fairly juicy (for chicken breast) and they had the decency to leave the skin on. The back ribs were meaty and authentically smoked. The beans were good and the potato salad was to die for - close to the best I've ever had. The smoked prime rib was a little on the dry side, I guess because it was far from "prime", but still pretty tasty. Service was friendly (this is Indiana, after all) and accommodating. I'm from the Chicago area and am pretty picky about BBQ, and Mark's is better than a lot of places we have up there. A solid 4 stars in my opinion.
