The variety is amazing. So many different types of ice cream, and they're hot food is actually pretty good. It's always busy because it's so good! I've never had it, but my students favorite is the cotton candy mountain dew. Only draw back is that sometime is a little slow.

Indiana in the summertime. This is about as typical as it gets. You can literally see kids playing softball 20 yards away. They have a pretty good selection of ice cream and creative softserve Sundays. They also have the type of food that people make fun of when they make fun of Indiana cuisine. Walking taco...

When I was exploring the NE Hoosier countryside, passing thru Albany, I spotted the "DAIRY DREAM" ice cream sign. What a delight to find an old fashioned "dairy treat" place. They're really busy, with a "Drive Thru" & 2 "Walk Up Windows," dispensing a large variety of sandwiches, & large varieties of "Hard" & "SOFT" ice cream treats. I as for the "Cherry Amaretto" & they had it. They have NO inside seating, but there are picnic tables nearby.

Some may complain because my milkshake did not come to me quickly, however I can guarantee it was not due to laziness in the preparation. I ordered a banana milk shake. Hand dipped vanilla ice cream and a freshly chopped banana in front of me. Although simple, it's nice knowing the banana wasn't frozen, and the ice cream was hand dipped as opposed to soft serve (which is also an option) "I don't know how thy do it, but they always make a perfect shake. You are able to suck it through the straw" my dad He's right, the shake is heavy but can be enjoyed without a need for a spoon. Also, friendly service, support local first

Great ice cream and sandwiches. A staple in this area for over 50 years ( Remember the I Was A Pig A St. John's Badges ? ) Price a little higher than most ice cream stops but the quality and service is top notch. Every February everyone in this area awaits their new season opening.

Dairy Dream makes me want to eat ice cream all-the-time. They have an extent menu ranging from anything to cones to sundaes to shave ice (c'mon guys, get rid of that D in the "shaved ice..." That's not how we roll!), to burgers and fries. The first time I went I was greeted by a gal who did not exude customer service. I understand its busy and you've probably worked all day, but dang girl, put a smile on that face! I got a small turtle sundae and I couldn't even finish it. Did I mention this please is EXTREMELY inexpensive?! The second time I was greeted by a sweet chickadee named Alexa. She took the time to explain what was what and what I could get on things. I ended up getting a twinkle top chocolate cone and a pizza burger. The pizza burger was awesome! It was nostalgia wrapped up in a silver foil wrapper. It reminds me of the $1.00 burgers that the CJ Shave Ice truck used to sell after school right by my house in Kalihi during my wee little lady days. And I don't really know what makes it taste like pizza, because it is only meat and cheese in there, but it does, and it's great. Can't wait for my next trip!

Realized while writing up an ice cream joint in nearby Ft. Recovery OH I'd never reviewed this place. I've come here for over 40 years. Same family owns/operates. Open late Feb through late October and we always hit it on opening and closing weekends every year and at least every other weekend. I refuse to review the food. Very hit or miss. Sundaes, milk shakes - very good whether soft serve or hand dipped - I've never been disappointed. (blackberry and raspberry sundaes have an addicting crack-like substance in them surely) My all time favorite item would probably be the orange sherbet-vanilla twist cone. Used to be able to get it all the time. Now they cycle the flavor every 10-14 days. I would think demand would be enough to have it all the time. Where does this place come up short?: the menu needs streamlining - trying to be all things to all people - no way they sell enough food items to cycle it through the freezer regularly.

Growing up down the road in Dunkirk this was always my favorite ice cream place. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Nothing like stopping in on a hot summer night and eating outside.

This place has a cool old school feel to it. Its been around since the early 1950s and it still has that vibe to it. I can't find any fault with the hard pack ice cream, its top notch. Normally, you can't convince me to eat soft serve, but I had to the last time that I was here. A soft serve chocolate/vanilla twist hand dipped in hard chocolate was my poison of choice as a child, and the Dairy Dream is the only place that I know of to get it now! And man, did it ever bring back delicious memories. I also tried something new to me. A pizza cheeseburger. I'm not gonna lie, it did taste strangely like pizza. The quality of ingredients didn't do much to make me feel like ordering it again however. On another visit, I got an actual pizza slice. Its def the same pizza that I was served in elementary and middle school. Not impressive, but certainly nostalgic. Maybe that's what this place comes down to. Lots of nostalgia packed into one small shack. I can think of few things that Americans enjoy more than nostalgia.
