Excellent shawerma. The damascus way was delicious. The falafel was good I've hab better though. Clean environment friendly staff.. very clean bathrooms huge plus!! Price for 2 shawermas a falafel sandwich and 2 drinks was 21 and some change.... Reasonable definitely worth a try!!
We were in the area and had no idea what we wanted for dinner, good ol yelp to the rescue! This is an order at the counter and pick a table restaurant. We were given all sorts of choices. Chicken plate, basmati rice, hummus, pickled onions, tabouleh, yogurt cucumber salad, pita and of course FALAFEL! We both had similar orders and were not disappointed one bit. The best part of the experience was far and beyond the falafel, it was much thinner than your typical falafel, it resembled a tiny flat donut, good lord it was amazing, I will come back here 100% and the falafel is the main reason for that.
Ate the chicken shawarma in the car, and it was worth the oil stain on my pants!!! Incredible. Steak shawarma could be juicier.

Maries Catering

Reviews:
Is it vain to say my wedding had the best food out of any wedding I've ever been to, thanks to Marie's Catering? Maybe. But it's true! Quality food and presentation were a priority for us. I still remember a wedding I went to when I was little, where my mom let me have McDonalds on the drive home because the food was so terrible. I didn't want our wedding to be remembered like that! Marie's was recommended by our venue (The Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet), as well as our DJ. It was definitely a nice perk to have companies that had worked together, especially at a place like the Rialto where everything had to be brought in Marie's was excellent from the start. They offered comprehensive packages that included linens, chairs, cake, dessert, centerpieces (though the florist they work with was a little . . . well not good) etc. One stop shopping! We went with the diamond package, and were so glad we did. Our guests raved about our delicious dessert table (their waist lines probably weren't as happy as they were, ha!). From their online options to our first tasting, we were impressed. They set up a nice little romantic table at their banquet hall and brought out our options - everything was absolutely delicious. On the day of, service was timely and our guests were very happy with the food. And Ericka, our coordinator. Wow. She was on top of everything. We booked pretty early, and had a lot of changes throughout our planning. She kept track of every little detail, helped us with our coordination, everything. Color swaps, dietary restrictions, last minute changes, limited information from our venue - she handled it all and kept our catering experience stress free. She even helped tweak our day-of timeline to help things flow a bit better, and gave us advice about keeping the wedding in order. Their albums don't do them justice. I was a little worried about our cake, since the pictures on their Facebook and their albums were so-so, but our buttercream cake had that sleek, polished look of fondant, and tasted 10x better. The fabric draping on our tables and everything looked perfect and well designed. If I ever need something catered again, I will definitely use Marie's without any reservations!
Marie's catering knocked it out of the park!!!! They catered my wedding Nov 2 at Mayslake Peabody Estate. They were so easy to work with and the food was amazing. I had so many compliments that this was the best wedding food my guests ever had, we did the duet with the chicken and steak and for the price you really can't beat it. I had gotten a quote from another catering company for 4000 MORE for exactly what Maries gave me. The cake was awesome too! Please don't even look further, these guys are AWESOME!!!!!!
DO NOT USE MARIE'S. We went to our tasting today for our wedding and the food is absolutely disgusting and they got all of the details of our wedding wrong. First, we tasted the appetizers. Which were frozen and just heated. They even told us that the appetizers are frozen pre-made. Nothing special. Presentation was also lacking. The veggie quesadilla was good tasting but nothing to remember. Secondly, the salad had goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. There was several pieces of goat cheese with mold on them. My future mother in law thought it was blue cheese. We asked to make sure it was goat cheese and she confirmed that it was. Well I've never seen goat cheese with brownish green hair....They apologized and said it was the balsamic dressing. I'm not stupid, I know what mold looks like. Thirdly, we tried 3 entrees. Filet mignon which was so well done, it wasn't even edible. It was completely brown and tough. Poor quality beef that had no flavor. The chicken was dry and covered in a white gravy that just looked unappetizing. The pork tenderloin was surprisingly tender but they doused it in chili powder and then brought out a side of "pork gravy" which really was just a can of gravy they heated up. Mashed potatoes were alright, nothing special. The green beans were nothing special as well. Then, they got all of the details of our wedding wrong. They mentioned we had a 10 am ceremony and lunch reception... Ummm no, we never even considered a day time wedding. Our ceremony is at 5pm so I have no idea where they came up with that information. Totally unprofessional. Please, do yourself a favor and don't use Marie's. I'm getting married in 4.5 months and now I need to find a new caterer.

Ashton Place

Reviews:
I didn't even think of reviewing this place until now. This place is AMAZING!!! My hubby & I had our reception here in 2006 (yea, this is a long overdue review). After looking at tons of places in the area and around, we settled on the Ashton Place for lots of reasons. (1) The reception hall was clean and modern. Each room had a stairway leading down from the bride's room. A private roomy room for the bride to use complete with a private bathroom! Big enough to fit my wedding dress (Super bonus). The bride's room even locked and that was a total plus for us. (2) We got to sample the food BEFORE signing any contracts with them. How many places are that confident about their food? All the reception places we went to said we can do a tasting after the contract is signed and the deposit was cleared. What good is that if the food sucks? Not at the Ashton Place! They said come on by any time to try our food. No contracts needed. If there was something we wanted special that wasn't being served at the tasting, Chef could made it special for us. We went for 2 tastings, the first one was to get an idea of the place and the 2nd was to taste the possible entrees we were going to serve. Their Chef prepared the entrees special for us and we were still welcome to try anything else that they were serving that night for the tasting. We still didn't sign a contract either time (we did after the 2nd tasting). And let me say... The food was delicious!!! (3) The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We asked if we could bring in a sealed case of Grey Goose (hubby is a vodka snob) since it wasn't on their list of drinks (We opted for the upgrade that included premium vodka - Ketle One, not like those other places that calls Absolut or Stoli premium vodka). They told us we couldn't bring in any outside drinks, but they'll talk to the supplier and see what they can do. They threw in 5 bottles of Grey Goose set aside special for my hubby and our bridal party who declared "Goose Me." We had a coordinator, Stacy, who was great at helping us but 1/2 way through the wedding she opted to move out of town. James took over and did an amazing job! (4) The night of our reception was just perfect. I can't even begin to rave enough about how elegant the room looked. It was beyond my wildest dreams (it's a dream on a budget). They made the room look more expensive than we paid and all my guests were wowed when they walked in. We had our very own room manager who took care of us like we were their only guests ever. The servers were friendly, they took care of all my guests. The food was still raved about months after the wedding. People kept saying how incredible the food was and how it was shocking that it was "banquet food." We went to several weddings after ours as guests and all our friends (same group of friends from our wedding) compared the wedding food at these weddings to ours. There was no comparison! (5) The sweet table... Mmmm.... There was so much there, we took trays of it with us at the end of the night and snacked on it at the hotel later that night and the next couple days after. (6) I'm Chinese, my hubby is Irish. To honor my heritage, we wanted to do a tea ceremony before our reception. The original plan was to have it in our room before the guests arrived with only the family and a few guests. Unfortunately, there was also a wedding of 300+ people next to us so the lobby was getting crowded. The manager James scrambled and worked his magic, set up a nice room for us elsewhere so we could do our tea ceremony while the guests entered our reception and snacked. Ok... and lastly, only because this is soooo long... (7) We had a small wedding, 100 guests so we took the small room in the center. They asked us to sign a release saying we wouldn't mind giving up our room if another wedding party wanted the space. They would relocate us to another room that's the same size or larger at no costs or room minimum up charges to us. We went from a room that held 100 - 120 to a room that held about 150! Talk about room to move and breathe! YAY! The Emerald Society Bagpipers we hired had tons of room to get around!
We had our bridal shower at this location in the Emerald room. They set out the food incredibly LATE. My guests were all waiting for at least over an hour for their food. They didn't apologize for this mishap either. Food was not even according to the specifications that we laid out when we signed the contract. I'm spending this much money at a location and I'm not even getting what I signed up for. It makes me feel terrible when my own guests are served food late, this is not what was agreed upon. The service was just O.K. I will definitely not be coming back to this location.
Ashton Place was on the list of "venues to check out" for our wedding. We ended up choosing another venue, but this was one of our favorites. We didn't choose this because I wasn't a fan of the decor, and I felt that I'd have to do a lot of creative work/decorating in order to cover a large wall that divided two rooms. It was similar to a classroom divider. Also, due to the location of the building in a strip mall, there was not any opportunity to take pictures outside the venue. However, there is a gorgeous wood staircase and elegant bar in the reception room, with a private bridal room upstairs. I had no problems booking an appointment with Jackie, or getting a menu emailed to me. This is an affordable venue - our target was to have a Friday wedding for less than $60/person. Ashton Place is on par with Carriage Greens, Drury Lane, and the Carlisle.

This is a little place with about a dozen tables located at the end of a strip mall. It's a little known gem. Great lunch specials and a good assortment of Chinese and Cantonese. Congee on saturday and sunday. Friendly staff . The patrons seem to be predominantly chinese. Lot's of menu items you don't normally see. Not a great dining experience but then it is a great value and I have always been happy with everything that I tried.
I've been driving by this place for around 10 years and wow I have definitely been missing out. Great Chinese food all around. They have your classic Americanized Chinese dishes but make them alot better than the competition. My favorite part of the menu was the authentic Chinese dish specialties. The salt and pepper shrimp was divine and the Stir Fried string beans are amazing. I would also recommend the Mongolian Beef/Mongolian Chicken and the fried rice is pretty solid. Everything is spiced perfectly here and all the spicy dishes had just the right amount of spice. This place is great, one of the best places to get Chinese food in the burbs and the prices seem to be slightly below other places. Will definitely make weekly visits to this joint from now on!
Not impressed, ordered carry out, food was not tasty and the order was wrong. I will not return.

I originally posted this review on 8/21/2012, but for whatever reason, Yelp decided I was spam and blocked it. Well, F#*$ you Yelp! I love this place and I'm letting people know it. And despite the fact that now I live in Los Angeles, I will be going back here the next time I'm in town...and Yelp can't stop me! So here it is (at least until they spam me again...and isn't spam delicious??): "I've been here twice now, once for the buffet and once for dinner. The buffet is hands down the best Indian buffet I've been to. The food is always fresh, there is a good variety and it tastes great! You can usually tell how good (or average) a place is going to be by the quality of their naan. Taste Of India has fantastic naan. It's hot and fresh and soft and pillowy...YUM! Also, I love their Gulab Jamun. I've had a lot of soggy, not so delicious iterations of these Indian doughnuts, but Taste of India nails it. They are warm and fresh, with this great texture that I've never had before. I highly recommend coming here to get the buffet, but if you are there on a day they don't have it, you can always get the "Chef's Special" dinner, which is a combination platter that includes a variety of entrees, naan, rice and dessert. It's a great dinner and the food is tasty. They get bonus points for having great a great host too. We were going to leave tonight when we realized they didn't have the buffet every day, but he came outside and talked us into trying that Chef's Special. I'm glad he did. It was delicious!"
Ive never seen an Indian restaurant in US serve Paneer Bhurji or Vegetable Stew. Food was well made and warm
The buffet is very small with limited choices. About 3 meat choices and 3 vegetarian. They do not serve plain steamed basmati with the buffet. You have to ask for is separately and it's cold and hard..not fresh in other words. The service is spotty and the place lacks cleaning. I won't be back.

Another visit to Phillies and it was well worth the trip. One of the few remaining good family friendly mom and pop pizza parlors left in the area. Great pizza. One of the best thin crispy crusts anywhere. I have been visiting here since I worked in the area over 20 years, and our server had been there as long as I can remember. We will continue to visit, we'll worth the trip.
I'll say this would be a 2 star if it wasn't for the great wait staff, smiles galore, I had bbq beef ,gf had bake mostacholi , sp?'. Anyways the sauce on the beef was a wierd tangy with a smoke taste, freshly put on the beef, not cooked in like it should have been. Gf's Dish looked good, just a plain mostacholi dish with baked mozzarella on top, nothing special here with what we ate, waitress was 5 star, decor was 4-5 star, food was 2 star
Best thin crust around! Phillies sets the standard for thin crust pizza.

I'm a fan, good burger joint with fresh toppings.
Excellent service!!! Good food and atmosphere! Was here yesterday about 6pm for dinner with my two kids and brother. Right away the girl who was taking orders gave me something for the kids to play with. While I was giving my order someone else asked me if I needed a high chair, yes I did. When our order was placed they took us to the table they had put the high chair next to and we sat down. A minute later the milkshakes arrived for the kids and a few minutes after that our food. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and my brother a burger. We shared large fries, which was more than plenty for us all. My chicken sandwich was very delicious and my brother said that his burger was good too. He was very impressed with the soda machines, there are many different sodas to chose from. There are napkins on the table, which my brother was extra impressed with :) Overall the service was great. I will definitely come back!!! I live in Schaumburg so I'm going to have to try the one here to see how it compares. Thank you for the great experience Meatheads!
Always a great experience. Everyone is always friendly. Come here often on my lunch break. Highly recommend!
