This is my go to Chinese restaurant since I have recently moved from the city. It is more reasonably priced than any other place in the area and the quality of the food is solid as well.

I'm giving them 5 stars because they do a great job of what they set out to accomplish, fast, flavorful Chinese food that doesn't break the bank. It's nothing fancy but the lunch specials are great and the menu has something for everyone. I get take out from here about once a week and it's always good.

I tried this place for the first time tonight. I ordered the pot stickers and the chicken with broccoli. I was disappointed with the pot stickers and the sauce that came with it. The meat in the pot stickers were soft and kind of pasty. I prefer when pot stickers (especially pork filled) have a solid, springy texture. The sauce, in actuality wasn't exactly bad. I liked the sharp tanginess of it, however, it had a sugary aftertaste. Cut down on the sugar, and it would have been a very good sauce. Now, the chicken with broccoli was actually very good. I ordered a small since I added an appetizer, and since I didn't finish the pot stickers, I kind of wish I'd gone with a large (don't be misled by this comment, though. If you order appetizers, and you finish the appetizers, the small entrée is more than sufficient in portion size). The sauce was tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised at the chicken's tenderness. It was sliced chicken as opposed to diced chicken, which is why I was surprised that it was as tender as it was. Usually Chinese places which slice their chicken (especially the white meat) tend to have the chicken turn out tough/chewy/dry, which makes it difficult for me to want to eat it. So, a thumbs up for the tender chicken slices. Everything was reasonably priced, so no complaints there. All in all, I will be going back. FINALLY, a Chinese place in the NorthWESTERN burbs that has DECENT food. Much better than Yen-Yen which I've always found to be disappointing and inconsistent (except for their vegetable soup. That has always been good there). Also, apparently (according to a sign on the door), they deliver after three o'clock. And it seems to be a strictly take out place (there may have been a table I didn't see. I noticed that there was an area around the corner after entering, but I didn't really look at it). There are seats along the window, and when I walked up, almost every seat was taken. For a Sunday evening, I was surprised to see so many people, and this raised my expectations of the food quality. Most take-out only places don't have many people waiting for food.

I love this restraunt!!! Everything we order from there is really the best!! The egg rolls are really really good. Better than any other place. I know this is a short review but I think I made my point. My new Chinese restraunt is Yau's Chow for good!!!

We ordered for delivery and they were right on time. The menu is difficult to find but for those wanting to review it, I have posted the Take out menu in the pictures. The diners and I were extremely pleased with the quantity and quality for the food. You get a lot for a good price. There was no skimping on the meat or veggies and what was ordered mild was mild and my Ginger Chicken was spiced perfectly, and I must add, all the soups and dishes including the Fried Rice were not salty at all. Just the way I like it and those needing more can pour on the soy. All in all really worth trying.

Yau's Chow is pretty good Chinese food, it is right by my work and they have kick ass lunch special. Everything is under 5.50. and comes with shrimp fried rice and egg roll. I gave 4 stars cuz it is only carryout and catering. So it aint no restaurant to me! lol. I ususally get General Tsa's chicken a perfect blend of spicy and sweet. My brother likes their crab ragoons, im not a fan of any ragoons sooo blah. My coworker gets sweet and sour chicken, its too die for. It's huge portions too!!

My favorite Chinese in the Northwest suburbs. The only drawback is it is takeout only, no dine-in. The food is always fresh made. I've tried many different types of items from the menu and found it all good: soups, moo shu, egg foo yung, and the house specials.

My boyfriend and I are vegan and it is a bit difficult eating from a Chinese restaurant especially if you're also trying to eat on the lighter side.! But at Yau's Chow we have managed to find a couple great favorites that never get old. Steamed vegetables with sides of garlic sauce w/ extra garlic is a great healthy alternative to the basic kow entree and it is so good every time. We also enjoy the vegetable chow fun w/ extra vegetables, e-z salt and e-z oil.. they give a large quantity so it feeds at least two. We also enjoy their spring rolls at times (if they don't over cook them) Yau's Chow is definitely one of my favorite go to take out restaurants :)

This review isn't comprehensive, and perhaps a greater selection might improve the grade. We ordered vegetarian mu shu, and veggie fried rice with a side of crab rangoon. Meat dishes might be better... The portion sizes were plentiful. The flavor, very average, not adventurous at all. Bland. The crab rangoons were more wonton wrapper than filling by a considerable margin. They also seemed to have problems verifying credit cards, which was alarming. Food portions, perhaps good enough for three hungry adults, totaled $24. Portions were large, and the food was reasonably good. Could have been worse. Could have been much better. Service (delivery) was FAST, and that's in their favor.

Super fast, inexpensive, tasty food and excellent service (carry out)... The place is now my dinner destination every Wednesday, as my daugther is dancing away next door.

Yau's Chow is one of the places we order take out for lunch. Not bad, but I prefer China North. China North is not as slathered in sauce. Yau's Chow does have very good value for the dollar. Very generous portionrs for their lunch specials. Take out for dinner was a little underwhelming. we ordered some Mapo Tofu, and it only amounted to some tofu in sauce. Stick to the lunch specials and you'll be A-Ok.

Being the closest Chinese restaurant to me, I grew up eating here from time to time. The original owner was a very cool guy who knew all of his customers name's. He could talk your ear off as you waited for your order. When he left the place went downhill a little. I'd say the food is average overall. Nothing horrible but nothing amazing. I like the Singapore noodles.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
