Lindy's in the summer on the deck is a nice spot for a meal. Food is okay. Not bad not great, but the view is very nice. Can't miss with a burger. If its busy be prepared for incorrect orders though. Special orders always seem to throw the kitchen out of whack.

A long lost friend graciously invited me up to what I consider a vacation home, a boat dock, lake, and every water sport known to man at our disposal. We did the only proper thing, we went to Lindy's Landing and drank. I admit, we were on our way to a joint called Docks or something, but about five hundred motorcycles beat us there, off we continued. Bikers, so annoying. Well, I guess any group of people who decide to completely crash an establishment unannounced in mass are pretty damn annoying. Although that many bikers offers up much fun drinking games. Ever play, drink a shot when you see a dragon tatoo? How about chug whatever drink is in front of you when you see a bandana? You can see this could get lethal, we decided a place with less excitement. We were welcomed onto a large outdoor patio with a two piece band jamming an acoustic guitar and some steel drums. Thankfully no vocals, the music was a touch loud, but nice background music. I haven't been to this part of Illinois in some twenty years, I am always amazed at the amount of people behaving as if they are at Sandals resort. $5 Mai Tai's were pretty darn good, the under a hundred calorie drinks, not so good. Stuffed burger with bacon and cheddar was surprisingly good, cooked a perfect medium as requested. Wings were standard, done well. Fruit salad was a nice offering, but a bit abused. Nachos were a bit sparse, but had good flavor. None of the food detracted from the task at hand. If this place does anything, it is that they don't fuck things up, they don't try to hard, it is very laid back, the young staff seems to be serious about their job. It made for a very nice afternoon of debauchery. How much is a cab from Wauconda to the Southside?

Went for lunch... Great weather made the outside seating at lakeside great!!!! Service was prompt ...... Hamburgers outstanding

I definitely agree with the dining al fresco by the water. But in my humble opinion- eat before you go. I ordered the bison burger with fresh fruit and the hummus apetizer. I have eaten both many times at other restaurants. I have never had warm hummus...I think it was left under the heat lamp waiting for the waitress to p/u...that would explain the rather sad celery sticks, too. The bison burger tasted like a very fatty hamburger. And the fresh fruit tasted like they dug it out of the rind.

After reading a few reviews we thought we'd stop somewhere else for dinner before stopping in for drinks and the live band. Glad we didn't! The Sushi Chef was going strong (didn't have any but likely will next time) and those around us praised his skills highly. My stuffed burger was cooked exactly as I ordered, the home-made potato salad was excellent and we shared some home made potato chips which was a fun appetizer for we who rarely have chips. All in all, the restaurant was clean, the server was attentive and fun, the food was very good. We'll return (Thursday's during the summer the band is very good) and I'm confident we'll be exploring the menus high$ and low$

I definitely agree with the post below on the summer/winter thing. However, there are snowmobilers and ice fisherman out on the lake so if you sit by the windows it's kind of entertaining. They always have a seasonal beer on tap which is great! The bottle selection isn't half bad either and they do have random drink specials during the week. I've never had bad service here, and although the menu selection is small, they do have good food. Great burgers! We've had dinner, parties, and even lunch on the patio which is fantastic in the summer!

Oh how I wanted to LOVE this place. It's in a super cute little downtown area of Wauconda that reminds me of downtown Lake Geneva and is right on the beach of Bang's Lake. What could sound better than having a nice lunch on a gorgeous day outside right on the beach where your kids can play in the sand and water, play fooseball and have enough to do so you can have an actual adult conversation with other parents without the kids saying they're bored? I know!!! My thoughts exactly. BUT, the salad I ordered that was supposed to have a black bean salsa and bacon on it came without any of that. It's like they made up a whole new dish and didn't change the menu. Not cool!! Of course the waitress brought the additional ingredients out to me, but why did I even have to go through that? But since the kids were still occupied and the chicken quesadillas were FIRE, they get 4 stars. Next time I just know to get an order of quesadillas for myself and I'll be fine.

I wish I had the option to give Lindy's two ratings. Summer--5 stars. Winter--2 stars. The real allure of Lindy's is their prime location on Bangs lake. Huge deck, beach bar, party feel. In the winter time it's kind of boring to go there...not to mention depressing because you know what kind of fun you could be having if it were warm outside. They try and break it up with special events and those can be pretty fun. Some of the items on the menu are definitely better than others so be sure to ask your server for their suggestion.

Great place for food and drinks on the water. They have live music pretty often too. I love that you can sit inside, outside on the deck, or at the picnic tables on the sand. The menu is amazing as well, and I love how its in the format of a newspaper/newsletter.

Food is over priced for the quality and portion size you receive. Drink specials are good but only if you have a server who will refill your drinks and you don't have to flag her down. DO NOT come here with a large group as your server will ignore you and give horrible service as Lindy's management allows their servers to tack on 20% gratuity. My particular server dropped my meal on me, forgot our drinks several times throughout the night, two of us got our food way after everyone else at the table received their food, she also had to be flagged down by other servers so we could order and still had the audacity to put gratuity on! Going to Docks down the street next time I want to relax, eat and drink near the lake with friends.

Meh...it's on the water, but that's really it. Overpriced by about 20-25%, and their food is mediocre at best. Mac n cheese just seems to be Velveeta with pepper slices, but is labeled as unique. Sure it's nice to hang out on summer days for beer, but that's it.

Good location and close by but that is about all the positives for this place. The food is average at best and overpriced. Most of the staff is friendly but there are a few bartenders who could use a personality upgrade.

GREAT for outdoor eating. Great for kids. Good kids meal, solid quesadillas. Wife had a summertime chopped salad and it was good, a bit too much cheese for her, and should have gotten the dressing on the side. I got the burger and it was very solid. Side salad was good and the soup was good as well. Service was horrible. Very slow, drinks went unfilled as I had to resort to ordering through the bus boy who I actually ended up giving half the tip. Had to track down the waitress to ask for a check, then 20 minutes later had to track her down to have it processed as it sat on the table waiting for her to pick up. Others were having the same problem. This place is a 4 if the service is improved. Will be coming back

Uh-oh, they've changed the menu. And removed the best sammich, the turkey and granny smith apples on a pretzel roll. But, me thought, the pulled pork might be a good alternative. Hoo boy, was I wrong. Awful!

Went there on a hot day to enjoy the setting on the lake and grab a bite and some beer/wine. However, we were very disappointed in the experience. First and foremost the sea food was great if you enjoy your tuna looking gray and cold! (The table next to us had Tilapia which was gray too). The waitstaff was confused as to the Soups. FYI...Cream of Potatoe-Bacon is not related to Cream of Mushroom at all. They had multiple beers on the menu, but after trying to order 3 different beers, I had to settle for a Miller Lite. They were even out of good tequilla. Overall the experience was not good. Even the nice deck couldn't save it. Go there to drink, but check to see if they have a full beer/wine menu.

Definitely will dine here again. The new facility is very nice and somewhat upscale for the area and I hope it survives especially since it has history in town. The menu is pretty varied and the service was on the slow side. We had the BBQ pulled pork and it was good but the patty melt wasn't anything special and was relatively flavorless with ORANGE cheese. Next time we will try some of the more ambitious entrees and appetizers.

Buddy and I stopped off here to see whatever became of the place. We knew it was a whole new building, but had no idea it was becoming a TGIF. We ate at the bar and got perfectly mediocre food served by an outstandingly mediocre bartender. This place is sterile, boring and wihtout any character at all. The waitstaff is suitably indifferent which goes along with everything else here. The old Lindy's was pretty dumpy, but it was a real "joint" that had character and history. The new place is more like a chain restaurant than a local tavern.

Used to LOVE LOVE LOVE this place when it was a dive on the beach. Now it has much less beach partying space. When the big restaurant first opened, we weren't crazy about the food but over this past summer had some really delicious meals(one did have a piece of foil in) have great selection of martinis also. Nice place to be able to bring your kids to hang out on the beach also. Servers are always friendly too.

Lindys has good food. It's not amazing but it's' just 'good' I do love their sushi nights! Burgers are very good and the wine selection by the glass is top notch. Prices are high but I think that's what you get to sit in a beautiful, waterfront restaurant.

A friend and I we had dinner last night at Lindy's Landing in Wauconda. We are regular customers and we never had a bad experience. However, last night we had the WORST EXPERIENCE! My friend found a piece of white plastic (it had the appearance of a tip of a fake nail) in her burger! We complained about it and the OWNER (a woman) basically blamed us and that there was no way that could of been there. The only thing she could do was deduct another $2.00. I, as many of you might feel that we should not had to pay for food that had plastic. Needless, to say I will never RETURN TO THIS PLACE. The owner obviously didn't care about losing us as customers! My weekly visits to this place are long gone; I would rather spend my money in another place where they take care of their customers! (p.s I'm so angry right now)

Great location. Cool place. But food/service is lacking. The server tried to charge us for drinks that we didn't order, then wanted to argue that we actually did. She finally realized I wasn't falling for it and backed down. We didn't order enough drinks for it to be confusing, so we tend to think she was trying to rip us off. She also tried to upsell us on all of our drinks to get us to buy "premium" alcohol. She felt more like a salesperson that a bartender. Food was ok. Nothing special at all. Could've been much better. If you go here, be sure to check your bill and make sure they don't try to overcharge you!

Did these other reviewers really review the same business I did? Almost did not give this place a chance based on the yelp score. I was in the area for lunch and told my customer I was taking them to my favorite new restaurant Slyce. Turns out they are not open for lunch which I wasnt aware of, anyway on a time crunch and headed across the street not expecting much. I typically would not rate a place like this five stars but here is why: bottom line if your looking for a bar and grill with spectacular views without the drive to Lake Geneva this is your place. Food: 4 stars simple bar food served fresh. Service 5 stars awesome waitstaff who seem excited your there. Views 5 +++ I love dining near water..........cant wait to go back in the summer!

The place is great, with a nice patio in the summer but the positives end there. The food is average at best. We've gone at least 4 times over this past year & its just not improving. Ordered the nachos 3 times, first time they were great but they decided to change them the second & third time. Both #2 & #3 were gross. Tonight I had a cheddar burger that was so over cooked (I ordered medium) it was grey completely through yet dripping with grease. Almost like the cook knew he over cooked it & covered it in butter to fix it. My husband had the Rueben w/ bread that was not toasted & barely any sauce. Not even a good flavor to make up for it. We will not be giving then another shot, not worth the money.

Was in town for business and stumbled upon this place. There butternut squash soup is honestly one of the best soups I can remember. I also had their turkey and artichoke sandwich which was excellent. I'm sure this a local favorite, especially in the summer-time with their magnificent view of the water.

I have been to Lindy's many times and finally decided to write a review. I think this place is great. The service, the food, the aptmosphere, and the prices ares all excellent. It is a very casual place with a very nice bar, and a dining room overlooking the lake. There is also an extensive menu. For the price, the food is very good. Is it the best, no. But, then you are getting more than you paid for and like I said, it is still very good.

Heard about Lindy's from a friend and happy that we did. We've been there twice this summer for dinner on the outside deck overlooking the lake. Everyone enjoyed their meals (on both occasions). The fish tacos were definitely a hit and the chips and salsa were a great starter. We've also had and burgers and wraps and were very pleased. The big hit was the atmosphere. Very pleasant to sit on the deck and enjoy the view during dinner.

Lindy's Landing is in a location that has held a restaurant/beach/boat moorage for 50+ years. Lindy's was, until recently, more of a "dive" than anything else. I mean that in a good way, though - it was burger 'n a beer kinda place, with the view of Bangs Lake as a bonus. This spring, though, they knocked down the old building and put up a REALLY NICE new place. We were shocked when we pulled down the short street/driveway leading to the building. The place is BIG! It contains a generously-sized bar area complete with a zillion big-screen plasma TVs, a square bar, booths and table seating. Then there's a seating area with huge windows looking out onto Bangs Lake, and best of all, 2 big decks for outdoor dining. The food is better than you might expect, with some fairly ambitious offerings, including some nifty pasta dishes and a really good steak sandwich. The service has been friendly, but a bit slow at times, and it seems clear that they're still trying to figure out how to deal with the crowds they've been getting since they re-opened. I give this place 4 stars because it's such a great place to have in a small town like Wauconda, and fits the bill for a unique dinner spot perfectly. Definitely worth checking out if you're ever in the area.

Been there a couple of times but it was average. They dropped the ball hard. My girlfriends salad was from the looks of how it was made, out of the bad salad. Her chicken was bland and my burger was burnt. Never going back there again.

During the summer, Lindy's is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner outside on the patio. The view of Bang's Lake is relaxing, and the entire mood of the restaurant is fun and lively. The food here is what you would expect at a mid-range restaurant in a small town. The last time I visited, I split a nachos appetizer with a friend before diving into our entrees. There was more than enough food for both of us, and we appreciated the friendly wait staff giving us a box for the leftover nachos and meals. The prices here are fair and not too high, and the food, location, and helpful staff make Lindy's a great stop on anyone's trip to Wauconda.

Have been here before and loved it. Not tonight though. Very disappointed in the manicotti special. For $16 you should get more than just two 6 inch manicottis in a skillet. No side, no salad, no soup. Not even bread. For $16 I expected much more. Service could have been better too.

Lindy's, I bring out of town relatives and friends to your restaurant regularly. Over your competitor around the corner. Your womens bathroom is dirty. The carpeting in the restaurant needs a cleaning too. I was so embarrassed to have my out of town sister say your bathroom was dirty. What gives? Clean! Remodel! Put money into the establishment or I'm not bringing business and buying your $13.00 salads. This is a deal breaker

Best restaurant I have been to in a very long time. Excellent food, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Very clean I would highly recommend checking this great restaurant out. You would not be sorry. Family owned and operated phenomenal place to go with friends or family or just to watch any kind of sports. Check it out you won't be sorry.

I always want to like this place more than I do. It's a nice place especially in the warmer months when you can sit out and enjoy the lake. I have tried several things on the menu and while the food is ok, I have yet to have anything that's been above average, and for that quality I find it slightly expensive. Service is average, can't really complain. On a few different occasions I've gotten a beer that I think was served on the warm side. Like I said, not bad on a nice day but nothing to get excited about.

This a great summertime destination. The waterfront location is a draw for me and the main reason I come here. They have a large patio for dining and a separate outside area/bar for bands and well just getting your drink on. The bands do get a bit loud so you might want to ask for a table away from the live music if you area there to converse and eat. They have a efficient way of handling their wait list by taking your name and number and the texting you when your table is ready. The food is not bad but nothing special. Unfortunately the wine list is horrible. But you come for the lakeside seating and what goes better than that but a cold beer. It's one of the best waterfront options in lake county.

I used to come here a lot as a kid but it's totally different now. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we originally sar outside but couldn't hack it so they quickly moved us inside. I'm a vegetarian and I was excited to see they had a veggie burger and it was $2 off burgers that day as well! I got the veggie burger and it was delicious although I'm pretty sure not house made.my boyfriend got fish tacos and said they were excellent. The service was great and I will definitely be back!

Warning, go outside of busy times, with reservation waited 45 longer than time, waitress greeted us to tell us alllllll the different dishes they had ran out of......it was a 630 reservation. Food when we did get it was good, but had to order second choices for all in our party due to food shortage. Bathrooms very dirty by 8pm

Lindy's is my favorite place to go during the summer months. Great food, great drinks, entertainment that isn't too loud, and all of it sitting at a beach on Bangs Lake. What more can you pissibly ask for!? It's almost like being on a mini vacation. A little on the pricey side but worth the trip especially if you have kids. They love to play in the water while you kick back. Great place.

Update 8/2/14. Can recommend the crabcake salad & Bull bites as entree substitutes but the Onion rings are WAY overbreaded, think hypoglycemic artery clogging arrest. This is a GREAT late night summer dinner, but that comes with the risk of whoever is still serving, and can be VERY erratic here. Sean's recommendations and service ALWAYS rocked us this year, everybody else late...good luck. ====== Lindy's Landing won our Friday Fish Fry Treasure Hunt tonight after walking out of TWO other restaurants in Long Grove. Long Grove Cafe has New Owners and they dropped the Friday Fish Fry (believe me they weren't too busy when we got up and walked out) and our distant second choice in Long Grove, The Long Grove Tavern who managed to make us wait for a table for 30 minutes only to see them seat someone new after they forgot about us. Forget about them. WHAT has happened to Long Grove? Looks like a lot of inheritance money has disappeared there. The Lindy's Landing Fish Fry gives you a choice of a very light battered cod or broiled, we got a mix and both were very good. Delicious red potatoes with just enough butter and parsley and cole slaw, ALL you can eat. We also got one of their Almost World Famous Ruebens, just the best. Very ably served by Shane thank you. Better than average reasonably priced by the glass and bottle choices. Always some interesting drink specials too, and a view of the lake sunset. Up a star and closing in on as Good as it gets North of Barrington and South of Wisconsin.

The food is okay, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The last time we were there, the food runner brought food to our table that was not ours. He put it down in front of us even though we told him that wasn't our order. Ok, mistakes happen. It's what he did next that was so wrong. After consulting another staff member, he picked up the dishes from our table and took them to another table. This is an absolute "no, no" in the restaurant business. You never serve food that was on another table first. For this reason, I will not be returning to Lindy's again

Got there at 5:30 on a Thursday and could not find a parking spot anywhere near this place. After circling the lot and waiting 5 minutes for someone to leave we decided to try street parking -- no luck. We ended up having to park in the Wauconda public lot 3 blocks down (annoying but not so bad). We had a group of 6 and wanted to sit outside but were told that if we wanted to sit outside together, we would have to squeeze 6 people around a table designed for 5. Ummm......no thanks. 4 of us ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress walked away to get it without taking anyone else's drink order. When she returned, she set down the glasses and bottle on our table and walked away...without opening the wine bottle. I'll chalk that up to her being new, but don't the servers get any training at this place? The food itself was decent, but overpriced (I had the pulled pork sandwich) and the service was soooo slow once we ordered our food. It took forever to get the food and then twice as long to get the check. Overall, probably won't be coming back unless someone REALLY wants to.

Amazing outdoor deck with fantastic views!! Good drink specials! Solid food! The nacho platter was ENORMOUS with TONS of cheese! (And I'm from Wisconsin!) I'd give 5 stars but there was a very long delay with service, I wasn't too sad, siting on the deck, in the sun while gazing at the boats drinking a yummy 3 olives vodka and soda (on special for $4 wut wut!) Over all a win! And I will be back! :D

My wife and I go often, like once a week in summer. Fun location, passable food, decent drink menu. Last three times we have gone, items appeared on our bill that we did not order or consume. These were corrected once pointed out. Last trip, our credit card was charged for our meal, and for and additional table. Took us two weeks to get this straight. Watch your bill!

First, coming to Wauconda makes me feel like I'm on vacation, it's such a cool town. It's just a 25 minute drive from home, so we'll be back often. My wife and I came here to eat after getting a few drinks up the street, and had a great experience. They offer complimentary valet, and when we got inside we were able to be seated right away on a Friday because they have a ton of seating. We went outside, which is where you should always sit when the weather is nice. I had the fish fry, which was excellent, and my wife had a salad, which she really enjoyed as well. We shared the hummus appetizer, which was really good as well. All of that said, the view is probably the big selling point, and it's well deserved. Even inside, you have a beautiful view of the lake. They even have some beach seating, which would be great for kids, and we plan to come back with ours very soon!

Four stars :( I wanted to give 5, I really did, but our experience wasn't five star. But the service we received after the 4 star experience was 5 star....so should I change it? I'll think about it. We went here on a Friday night for their fish fry and the outdoor lakeside dining. It was beyond packed, but we managed to find two stools at the bar. They had PBR on special for $3 I believe. We started with a platter of nachos...no not a plate...a platter...it was enormous, cheesy, guacamole-y, hot, sour creamy, tasty. We were kind of full after eating them, but I had already put an order in for fish fry. It was taking a REALLY long time to get our food, so we said we'd like to cancel the order because the wait was too long. The bartender was really apologetic and gave us our bill. As we paid and were about to leave, she came back with a to-go bag with a full order of fish fry....for free. They said they were really sorry for the wait and wanted us to leave happy. It was awesome of them. The next best part was Ashley feeding me fish in the car on the way home. I kind of wish it hadn't taken that long for the food, because I would've had a few servings of that fish. We will be back, maybe a little earlier in the night to avoid the rush. Thanks for the great service Lindy's Landing employees!

The biggest draw of Lindy's is the lakefront dining with great views. The beach dock is great for lunch or drinks on a nice summer day. My coworkers and I sometimes lunch here when we feel like getting away from the office. And we definitely get away from the office for a long lunch because Lindy's is not quick--the food does not come out fast and we've often had to request the check. That's fine for after work, but I usually don't like taking a 1.5 hour or more lunch. The food is nothing to rave about, but it's good. I do enjoy the large salads and the fish tacos. The drinks are pretty good, but they do have a limited selection of beers out on the dining dock. You can still get cerva-ritas out there and that's what I recommend. This place is great for unwinding after work on the weekends, but not good for when you are looking for a quick meal.

About 17 of my employees and I showed up at Lindy's last week, unannounced, to mourn the sudden loss of a coworker. Their crew was beyond accommodating. They were compassionate and respectful. The server was a delight and not the least bit rattled by the size of our group. She managed special requests with kindness and made sure everyone had everything they needed. Our food was served promptly and correctly...and it was delicious! I'm definitely going to get the Reuben next time. They didn't miss a detail, and even treated us to some desserts. Couldn't be more impressed!

I love this place! Food is great and reasonably priced. Great view while dining overlooking Bangs lake. Have kids sit at a picnic table on the beach, kids can swim and play while waiting for their food!! Love that so much!! Every year they have a back to school event that is so fun, my son gets excited to go every year!! Love their food and atmosphere!! A++++++

Where else can you go 20 minutes from home, to have some food and maybe a beverage or three with your feet in the sand while live music plays, that's fun for the whole family? Seriously, 1 drink in on a Sunday afternoon on the mini beach at Lindy's and I feel like I'm on vacation. I absolutely love it here and my kids do too! The food is good, not great, but I don't go to Lindy's for haute cuisine I go because adults and kids can enjoy it equally. To the people who complained about parking in their reviews, I get it. Parking sucks, but I've never let it ruin what will surely be a good time. The last time I went to Lindy's the valet lot was full and I had to park a few blocks away. I guess if I wasn't meeting family who I was able to drop my kids off with I may have been a little salty having to drag them down the hot streets of Wauconda. However, I did drop them off and I was happy for the owners of Lindy's that business was so good. If you have young kids, enjoy live music and are looking for something to do on a weekend afternoon, look no further!

Very disappointed with the arrangements for our party of 22. Thought we'd be a little more private with two tables side by side in the dining room instead of all of us at a table the size king Richard's buffet! Ridiculous when you have to listen to other diners conversations and put up with kids breathing on the cake.... Very poorly done. We won't be back!

Greatest place ever! Connor in the parking lot made sure my car was parked safely. Tommy was amazing waiter. Try the bull bites -they are amazing!!!!

Stopped here for lunch yesterday just to have a appetizer and a cocktail. Service was very slow..... Appetizers way over priced $13.99 for coconut shrimp.....6 PC order.....are you kidding???? nothing to write home about regarding flavor. I think it will be some time before we return if at all.

Great location on the water! My family has been coming here for years. Excellent food, view, and a cozy spot in winter too! You wont be sorry!

Place is great! Service was slow to start with, but overall ok. Appetizers were great! Got the chips and salsa with guacamole and sausage bites. Sausage bites were a little on the dry side but still really good. Daughter had the coconut shrimp which she really enjoyed. Hubby had the cowboy burger with a couple of add ons and it was a huge burger. He has enough left for lunch tomorrow. I had the prime rib. It was not cooked right. The manager did take it back and gave me another full meal to bring home. Which was unexpected, but very nice. If you are a picky steak eater, make sure to be very clear what cook temperature you want. I ordered mine rare to medium and got medium to raw in the middle.

Really enjoyed dinner on the deck. We had the humus appetizer. It was very good. Fish tacos. Sailors steak. Pulled pork sandwich. The enchilada special. Crab cake salad. Everyone at our table was happy with their choices. The waitress was fantastic. Sitting out on the deck overlooking the lake was the best. Can't wait to come here again.

Hard to find parking at times, but overall good food. Parking lot is typically full on nights and weekends which is a good indication of how popular it is. You can valet your car for free though. Interior is nautical themed which is appropriate for its great views of Bangs Lake. It has both inside and outside (2 decks) eating areas. Outside can get noisy on weekend nights at times. Food is good and there is a good variety of options. Prices are decent and can be anywhere from cheap to moderate depending on what you get.

Beat it in the summer! Take your nose out of the air, you're in Wauconda IL... Not Chicago. Can't beat the outside bar, food is good, drinks are great, staff is fun. You really can't beat it for the area, trust me. We always have a good time. Ask for Josh, great bartender and knows how to make a drink.

Good food and beer selection - great views and outdoor patio - my issue with lindys is the price! 5 years ago great value them they started going up and up - one of the most over priced places in lake county for the value - chicken nachos , one soda ,3 beers , one burger and 2 side salads $72-really want to like this place but .......

  • Becky G.

Service was good, food was unpalatable. I barely touched my chicken, it was rubbery and underseasoned. The patio and the view were lovely, but I will not be back unless someone else is paying.

My husband & I finally decided to try Lindy's about one year ago. The menu offers a lot, the decor is nice but the best part is the outside seating area. As long as the weather is nice, you can eat & enjoy the lake view.

There are better burgers at Wendy's. I've had a range of things on the menu, wings=generic, burgers taste like a frozen patty, salads are bland, and the drinks are expensive and way under poured. the only good thing about this place is the location and the homemade soups. If they dropped there prices then it would be worth going.

  • Chris M.

Parking in downtown Wauconda can be busy but it was really bad for this place. The hostess was great and really nice but due to the big parties that were there we waited an hour to sit down (2 of us). The waiter was great at his job as well but the food wasn't that tasty. Fish fry Friday tasted like freezer Friday. The fish tacos were identical. Don't know if we will come back.

Ate there w/ a large group. Service was great, interior decor was great, atmosphere was great. What wasn't great was the food and drinks. They were just ok. Drinks were very weak and watered down and the food was kind of bland. I had a lindy burger which was tasty, but didn't taste like any other burger i've had. Nothing to take it to that next level. Fries were ok. My friend also had a burger..some kind of southwest burger. It came with nothing on it. Literally, no cheese, no toppping, nada. They said all the ingredients were mixed into the meat. Yuck! Another friend also got the home-made chips, which she said she did not like at all. They had no flavor whatsoever. My husband had the jambalya which he said he liked alot. So over, I would go back and give this place another chance. I would opt to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere that a place like this, right on the lake w/ live music offers.

The food was mediocre at best, very poor service. Server cared more about eating his own meal and chatting with his co workers than getting me another beer. The, I think, bartenders menu knowledge was poor, and he forgot to ring in a part of my order and blamed it on the kitchen staff. Will return for drinks on the patio in the summer, but not for food.

I know the outside seating welcomes many, but I love to be indoors on a cold or wintry day. Inside is very spacious and the food has never disappointed. Seating near the lakeside windows is a must during the daytime.

My husband I like going to Lindy's for lunch once in awhile. When the weather is warm it is the perfect spot to sit outside on the deck overlooking the lake. The food is great and the service is good.

Came for a couple of beers on Fat Tuesday. While it was pretty quiet, the place has a huge bar with lots of social people and bartenders, so its fun to hang out at and watch game in a more open, well lit place. Has a fun type of vibe to it.

Ate outside on the deck - great service, great view and a great band playing...had the barbecue chicken sandwich. The sandwich was great, a slice of pineapple, onion, barbecue sauce, and cheese...fantastic !!

Where to start with Lindy's? I like it. But I can't go much further than that. #1 reason being that the service is slow. SLOW. Even when you tell them you're in a hurry, it's slow. So that right there is somewhat of a deterrent. The food is good, some of it is even delicious, but it's expensive. Too much for what it is. The main draw, at least in the summer, is the outdoor deck and the live music in the evenings. I enjoy those things as well, although it's a place I go to year-round since I work in Wauconda and there isn't much in the way of sit-down, casual eating. However, as much as I like it, I can't say I love it or give it more than 3 stars because they need to beef up their serving staff, and maybe cut down the price on a few items. They really are priced too high.

I'm not going to player hate. Lindy's Landing is what it is: A bar/restaurant right on the water serving up fairly standard pub grub like nachos, spinach dip, burgers, sandwiches and wraps. I feel like as long as you go in not expecting a lot, you won't be disappointed. I expected Lindy's to be an epic fail when in reality it was pretty regular food, nothing fancy, decent service and an absolutely stupendous location on the water. My California Turkey Wrap was not bad. Basic, but not bad. What I'm sure was 'lunch meat' turkey, bacon, avocado, cheese and lettuce mixed with ranch dressing and stuffed into a tortilla wrap and served with fries turned out to be filling and not disappointing. Just not exciting, either. I'm used to being a little wowed by my food. This was simply passable. I did appreciate that our server flawlessly handled our party of ten, delivering apps and the kiddie meal super quickly, all other meals on time, kept our drinks full and managed to keep a smile on her face. While I wouldn't consider Lindy's one of my favorites, it certainly wasn't offensive and is probably really fun when the weather is warm.

Been to lindy's many times. This was the worst ever. Staff seemed overwhelmed by the crowd. Took awhile to get waited on. When we ordered, it took 45 minutes for order to B delivered. The waitress was nice and friendly and did what she could. But even she seem to be mystified by the time it took for our food to come out of the kitchen . Will be going to docs next time we ordered the chicken with raspberry sauce. The sauce was extremely bitter. I could hardly choke it down.

I had a patty melt which wasn't too bad. We ate outside with a great view of the lake. For now I give them 3.5 stars.

We had a blast at Lindy's. ALL the food was great. Egg rolls, small sandwiches, wings. Service from Ashley was excellent, also. And a nice view of the lake, too.

I love the atmosphere at Lindy's Landing. You can't beat the floor to ceiling windows overlooking Bangs Lake. Summertime is definitely best at Lindy's because their outdoor bar, patio and beach make you feel like you've left Illinois for a beach vacation. I highly recommend playing hooky from work and enjoying a few drinks and some cold shrimp cocktail on their patio. The food could use a little improvement. I haven't had anything bad to eat at Lindy's but I also have never been blown away by anything on their menu. The have holiday buffets (Mother's Day, Easter, etc) with tons of variety. I recommend trying it when you don't feel like hosting a holiday meal. Overall, I like Lindy's, and I'll take my family there a few times a year.

Went to Lindys last night with my husband and a good friend of ours. I had their Baja Fish Tacos which was AWESOME! I love lime, so I asked for more lime wedges. My husband had the Chopped Salad and his friend had the Jambalaya. The service was great, very friendly and polite. The only problem was the band should have waited till dinner was over to play (JMO) it was a bit loud and I don't like screaming over music. It is very crowded on a warm Saturday night so if you want to get a seat outside, go early.

A while back i came here with a larger party and sat inside since it was in late Fall. And enjoyed our experience so My wife and I came back here on a Wednesday and sat on the deck by the boats , it was a great night along with great service. Thank you Abbey! Anyway we started of with some boiled shrimp which were. Good. Kind of hard to screw those up. And then my wife just had a chopped salad which was more like a Cobb salad. But she enjoyed it just the same , I had the fish tacos which were fantastic, all in all the service and food were great. And the setting on the water ws really relaxing I do recommend this to anyone .

I have to second April's review (from July '10). This place has a nice location, right on the water, but the food is totally tasteless and forgettable. I'd go back to sit on the deck on a nice summer evening and have a drink, but I'd eat before I got there.

  • K D.

Great restaurant/bar and great ambience, but please stay far away from the Wednesday night sushi special. We went there for dinner wanting to try out their burgers and found that on Wednesdays, they have a sushi chef on site who makes items for a limited menu. We tried several rolls off of the menu, and I really think that Lindy's should just move on to something different for Wednesday nights. The rolls were sloppily made, outrageously priced for what you get, and nowhere near what they should contain regarding ingredients. The tuna is less than fresh. The only thing that was pretty decent was the edamame- and you really have to try hard to mess that up. So, if you're eating at Lindys on a Wednesday night, don't even bother with the sushi menu and order one of their burgers or sandwiches. It's what they do best.

What a nice surprise! Love the atmosphere makes you feel like your on vacation. My husband ordered the Hamdogger I sampled a couple bites. The description was a little strange to us, but it was like not being able to make a choice at a bbq. Inside a juicy burger you will find all your Chicago style toppings and a grilled beef dog on top. I ordered a steak it came with a ton of yummy fresh veggies. No room for dessert

Decided to venture out and try something new, I found this restaurant on Yelp and chose it because of the view of the lake. We were not disappointed; the food was good, very hot when served, good selection and friendly service...the view is lovely too.

Had a horrible experience here. Will never go back. We were initially told that it would be an hour wait for a table of six on the deck. Then they came back and told us 1 1/2 hours, only to be seated at a table for 4, with 6 place settings crammed on it. When we complained, they said the couldn't do anything. We ordered and waited another hour for our very mediocre food. The hamburger was burnt. Worst yet --the table of 7 that was seated after us and ordered after us (and immediately next to us), got their food before us. The manager could have cared less and had an attitude. He finally gave us a discount after we approached him at the end of the meal after numerous complaints. We certainly didn't expect to wait 2 1/2 hours before we got served our meal. I felt sorry for the waitress, who tried to make everyone happy. Seems like the staff had too many tables and very unhappy. We will never go back here.

I was hoping no one would find this relaxing piece of heaven. The food was great and our waiter Jason was very professional and accommodating The views were outstanding This is not bar food nor is it gourmet dining, but the overall experience was great for a lazy Saturday by the water. We will return

Out in the 'burbs for a Holiday weekend? A sunny summer weekend? Then what else to do but find somewhere sun-drenched and relaxing to park your butt outdoors by a lake and enjoy copious fruity drinks with little umbrellas? I know it's my favorite warm weather activity of choice and Lindy's Landing indulges my getaway craving while still keeping me nice and close to home - marvelous!! Lindy's is Wauconda's hot spot - bit of an oxymoron there, isn't it - and serves to be a little bit of something for everyone. An enjoyable indoor restaurant for families and large groups, a rowdy bar at night for the younger t&a set and pretty much the primo beach spot for one and all. Their outdoor deck has great seating (albeit limited) to dine by the lapping water and also bumps up to 'the sandbar', Lindy's outdoor bar site for boozing, dancing and getting jiggy with your local pontoon owners. Don't have a boat of your own? Not a problem... ladies, you're guaranteed to find an eager and willing gentleman (I use that term extremely loosely btw) looking to show you his, erm, outboard if you know what I mean. Get a free spin around Bangs Lake and then get to runnin'!! Food is marginal... think classic lakeside grub of burgers, quesadillas, fried chicken and salads mixed in with an attempt at a few more gourmet items that all seem to fall flat. Service is downright inept with a team of less-than-brilliant pubescent dawdlers leading the charge, expect long wait times and loads of miscommunication... since when did a bloody mary with a beer back become a daiquiri, yo!? Be as it may, you don't come to Lindy's for the efficiency, you come to sit with sand at your feet, sun on your face and water at your back... a total summer trifecta! Grab a beer, sit back, enjoy the panorama and, of course, those infamous pontoon boys 'o summer.

I went to Lindy's for the first time for a Baby shower and was so impressed by the service, food and the view I decided to bring my family for a lunch. Granted I have not been here in the warmer months but I totally enjoyed my lunch. I had the salad at the baby shower with the yummy raseberry tea. Wonderful. Then I came back and had the Patty Melt. Yummy! Love the view, the staff is so friendly. My new place that I will go when I am in the area.

The food here is decent, but to me a bit pricey. The layout in side is a little funny as you almost walk into the kitchen to get to the bathrooms. This isn't on my top of places to recommend.

I was unimpressed by Lindy's. The food was pretty tasteless and the drinks were fairly weak. I ordered a Cowboy Burger which was supposed to be stuffed with cheddar cheese and bacon. There really didn't seem to be much in the burger though. I ordered the burger medium, but it was pretty dry and overcooked. The meat was not pink at all. The service was slow and terrible even though the restaurant was pretty empty. It took forever for them to ask if we needed refills on drinks. The service at the bar is just as slow. I heard this place is pretty cool in the summer. However, I don't know if I would be willing to give Lindy's another chance.

I've written a review before, of a random visit. Today's review is about the mother's day brunch buffet. Yes, I'm late. Total price for 2 people, no alcohol: $67! They automatically added an 8% tip to the bill...for a buffet. Scrambled eggs were made of egg powder. You think they could crack some eggs for what they were charging...but no. The remainder of the buffet offerings were good. However, they were not $30+ a person good, more like Golden Buffet good. Again, they were innocuous and bland. This location of this restaurant has everything going for it. It's a shame its food doesn't. It's cheaper than Dock's which has a similar location...but the food isn't as good, either.

Lindy's was our destination for an impromptu night out with friends and kids last Friday night. Arrived ~6:30 pm and the place was already nearly full to capacity. We waited a little longer than absolutely required because of our very specific request: two tables next to each other on the deck. We passed 20 minutes pleasantly on the comfy chairs on the front porch. Any time the kids can be less than restaurant-mannered and not disturb anyone is a bonus in my book. The outdoor dining allowed for that. They even hopped off the deck and tooled around the marina and beach while the adults kibbutzed. More than adequate children's menu. *Fab* all-you-can-eat cod special that night. Wish I'd ordered it. I had the chicken pasta which was pleasant enough, but not as good as the baked cod and boiled potatoes. TIP: bring a jacket if you sit on the deck, it's cooler by the lake, especially as the sun goes down.

I first went to Lindy's Landing over 10 years ago. Sunday Breakfast, sit at the bar, right on Bangs Lake in Wauconda. Went back a couple of months ago. They have really done a number on this place. First off, it is completely rebuilt. It is now an upscale restaurant/lounge. The bar seems a little noisy, but the dining area has a reasonable noise level. Friday Night Fish Fry is awesome. Can't wait for the warmer weather to sit out on the deck(s). Prices are not as high as I would have expected them to be. Haven't had to wait for a table yet, even though the lot was fairly full. Other food seems to be pretty good too, but the fish fry is one of the better in the area.

If you are in the burbs in the summer and want to eat on the water, this is a decent spot. I believe they bring in a Japanese chef from Chicago to slice up some sushi one night per week which provides better food options.

Not sure what happened, but the service at Lindy's has gone off the deep end over the last 1-2 years. Now that there are better choices in town we pass on Lindy's. Prices are a bit high. They made changes to the menu a while back and the bill for my family seems to be $20+ higher than my average bill every where else. Food is mostly decent, I really like the prime rib and the chicken chop salad.
