Disappointing. I ordered the Salisbury steak, green beans, and mixed veg. All arrived cold. Steak was obviously a frozen prepackaged product. Waitress took it back and it was microwaved until hot. Hubby had fried chicken, again frozen and prepackaged but good. He also had macaroni salad and pasta salad. They had the same dressing, just one had bacon in it. Waitress was very sweet and really the only highlight of the dinner. I don't recommend.

Basic country style cooking = meat and three sides. Service is friendly. The place does need a good cleaning though. The tables had a greasy film on them. The hot roast beef sandwich was delicious. Fried chicken was average.

When asked how was your grilled cheese: 4 year old Sydney says "mmm good" 7 year Old Sierra says "it looks good, tastes good and smells good, I hate burned grilled cheese and they didn't burn it." When asked what they like about the decorations: 4 year old Sydney says "it'd be nice if there were pictures of watermelons on trees" 7 year old Sierra says "the decor should be more colorful, I don't like the fish pictures on the wall, now can we talk about boys?" Jumbo is one of few restaurants in Vienna. I was in the mood for healthy, so It'd be great if they had more of a selection on the healthy side of the menu and the fries were a little less greasy. Otherwise, they have good gyros. The food was out quickly and the waitress kept our drinks filled. She had very good customer service skills with my children. Jumbo is the best place in Vienna to grab a bite to eat. The girls had a great time there. Most importantly, the other half of Jumbo is a video store, so you can eat and rent a movie at the same place:)

When we travel, always like to find local little gems... and did we find one on the way back from Paducah this past March :-). Just off the highway, easy access. Did crack us up that it was Jumbo Char-N Grill and Video. (The video store is to the right and the diner is to the left) Family style dinner, friendly service, very local. Someone at the table ordered corn nuggets--they loved em, I thought just ok--little on the sweet side (could only tolerate 2 of them). One of us ordered a Chuckwagon, the waitress was pretty sure it was beef. Friend said it was tasty. Sis ordered a open face roast beef that she really liked. But what got everyone drooling and seriously eyeballing was my Ruben. Very generous sammy...just the right amount of sauce, plenty of kraut and Swiss cheese, thick (but not too thick) pieces of corned beef. I would venture to say this is one of the best Rubens I have had. I was nice and let my sis and our friend try...they tried to get more of my sandwich--BUT NO WAY, wasn't giving anymore bites up. Our waitress was great, saw to it we had everything we needed. I noticed the rest of the waitresses also seemed to take good care of their customers... Can't wait for our next road trip to the Land Between the Lakes area!

I always stop into Jumbo when I'm in Vienna on business. It's basic, down home food. Nothing fancy here but nothing like fast food. You'll get a nice piece of meat (sandwich, etc.) along with a variety of sides ranging from cottage cheese to coleslaw. My most recent entree was the chuckwagon. It is basically a country fried steak covered with brown gravy. It was delicious. The waitresses are pleasant as well. They are more than friendly and are quick to refill your drink. If you should find yourself in Vienna and have the means, stop into Jumbo. It's located just off the interstate. The food is good and it's fresh.

Everything seems to come out of the freezer nothing is fresh. When we go out to eat supper this is the last place we choose.
