When they first opened they would deliver, they don't anymore. When they first opened and you asked for a 4 piece dinner and request that one of them is not a wing...we were told they don't put wings in the 4 piece meal. The last 2 times...we had wings. Today we ordered a 4 piece meal and we only got 3 pieces. Today we asked why they don't deliver anymore, they say because they don't have the business to support it...well, surprise! When you advertise 4 piece dinner..then give them 4 pieces. If you say " no wings" then keep the wings. The chicken taste is very good it is the service that brings my score down....too bad, we really enjoyed a nice 4 piece chicken dinner delivered to our door.

The ribs were fantastic. I was suprised that the sauce wasn't homemade but the owner told me that I would like it and I DID. I knew exactly what kind of sauce it was right off the bat but that didn't stop me from eating every bit of it. The fries were awful...no sense even serving those. It doesn't take long to make fresh hand cut fries and it would be cheaper for them in the long run. I agree with the other review that the sides weren't very good. Hopefully they can improve on this. The chicken looked really good and I will be getting that next time with my ribs.

Second time around chicken still moist and tasty. The mashed potatoes were ok and I liked the gravy. It wasn't dark gravy like most places serve so that was definitely a plus. The buttered corn was awesome! It was like someone had just taken it off a corncob!!!! Next time we will try the ribs.

One of the worst restaurants in Sycamore. Decent food, but the owner (the woman) is rude and snobby. The service is awful. No one looks like they know what they are doing except the girl at the register who seems to be the only one with class. The black guy who handed me my food was rude and should be fired. This restaurant needs to fail and should fail.

A wait longer than I'd prefer, strange smiling chicken picture, and imitation southern decor---all things I can overlook if the chicken is good. And... it is! The chicken sandwich far exceeds current fast food standards. It's crispy, hot, and tastes authentic. Cheers to the chicken!

I've been here three times and had the fried chicken each time. IMO it is the best in Sycamore/DeKalb. Cooked to order, large pieces good service. The gravy for the mashed potatoes was very good and home made. The owner and his wife were very friendly and made us feel at home. I will go back.

I wanted to like this place more than I did. We got delivery and had ordered two things: the 12pc family meal with 3 sides (the Sunday special) and a 4pc BBQ chicken meal with 2 sides and a 1/3 Slab of ribs. The sides we ordered were fries, potato wedges, beans and coleslaw. Cons: --the BBQ chicken was fried, then doused in BBQ sauce. Definitely mediocre at best for BBQ chicken. --potato wedges and fries were terrible. Fries were limp and soggy and potato wedges were completely flavorless. --the BBQ sauce was a bit too sweet in my opinion Pros: --the ribs were decent --the beans and coleslaw were great --the delivery time was faster than they estimated --it's fairly reasonable price wise for the amount food It was nothing special. But it beats KFC for sure.

If this is supposed to be the best chicken in town, you better leave town and find something tastier than this unless you like bland food and having to BUY condiments. That's sauce for you non foodies.... Who charges for sauce? I don't care if you make the sauce yourself. INVEST in flavor. Chicken was not crispy, everything was super bland. It'd be great for those who are watching their salt intake, I'll give it that. But if your chicken is going to lack flavor don't tell me "normally we charge for sauce" so this is a one time thing. Sauce is supposed to be available in bottles.....for not just chicken but fries, etc. I'm sorry this is not the best chicken in town, that is a total exaggeration. I want them to do well since they just opened but if you charge for sauce, you already are lacking common sense where it matters most. My friend wanted me to throw in that Jewel has better chicken!

Kind of sad to post this review; had high hopes for this place since I live within walking distance. Ate here yesterday with a business colleague. Arrived right when they opened. The guy that unlocked the door didn't greet us, just turned around and went back to the kitchen. They clearly were not ready to open; we laughed b/c our feet were sticking to the obviously unmopped floor. Ice machine was empty. They flipped on the music and it was so loud we ended up going outside after we ate to conduct our business. Main dishes are just average, nothing special. Sides are good, specifically, baked beans had real bacon in them, cole slaw, mashed potatoes are good. Sad to post this because I doubt this place will be around a year from now though. Bummer.

Overall the restaurant is pretty good. We tried the ribs and chicken and both were actually pretty good. The prices were reasonable and the staff was very friendly. When we went it was pretty busy so I would recommend calling in your order. If I could say one negative thing and it has nothing to do with food: make the font on the wall menu larger.

We stopped in on our way home from a trip. It was Tuesday and we got the fried chicken special to go, which was a great deal. The chicken came quicker than expected, made it home hot and was very good, not greasy nor salty. We will try the ribs and side dishes next time to give a full review, but the chicken is great.

First visit, we tried the 4 piece chicken dinner with bake beans and fries. The chicken was really good. It was moist and the coating was really good. We really like the baked beans. The bbq flavor was not over powering. The fries were good. We will definitely go back and we recommend trying this place.
