Absolutely fantastic food. I have tried a bunch of items on the menu and have never been let down. I wish the menu had more hot sub items, but what they do have is AMAZING. Best food in the dekalb area period.

It took me awhile to visit Carmine's and I wish I had gone sooner. I'm a fan of toasted subs, but I don't always feel like dealing with the college crowd at Potbelly's, or driving to our favorite spot in Algonquin. Carmine's is a good addition to the Sycamore/DeKalb corridor. I've only had the chicken and ranch sandwich, but why stray when you've found a good thing? I like that they use a chicken breast, and not deli meat. The bread has a good crust and has a nice tear when you bite it. I also like the broccoli cheese soup and the Coke machine is pretty cool. I'm glad they put one in. My only issue is the portion of French Fries is a tad small. Definitely give them a try!

Carmine's is a regular stop for my family these days, because the food is great, portions are good, and the kids eat really well. They're generally the barometer for food quality, because if they don't like it, they'll just not eat! The grilled philly chicken sandwich with the buffalo sauce is just awesome, and I always get the broccoli cheese soup. The staff is always friendly, and they have the most useful specials of any place like it. I definitely recommend!

Great value ! Quality, comfortable seating very clean washroom. Had the grilled pastrami. Delicious. Met the owners very nice and they both had their sleeves rolled up. Wiping tables and greeting the customers.

**Updated 7/9/14** So, with my pregnancy hormones gone I figured that I would give Carmine's another shot and update my review. And, it appears that some of the things I had outlined in my original review have been taken care of. -It seems that the menu is larger, and put together better. -The 'stinky' paper that I had encountered on my first visit has been replaced by sandwich wrap paper that carries the 'Carmine's' logo-which I think looks great. -My pickle was sliced!!! yayyyyyyy! -Chipotle Mayo is most excellent, just the right amount of kick. If cheddar cheese was added to the menu, I would be inclined to add another star. It is widely known that "Cheddar makes everything better"!!! With the departure of Rammy's in DeKalb, I had very high hopes for this establishment. Sorry to say, I am extremely disappointed. The offerings here are slim, and for a business touting soups and salads in their signage, I expected more from the menu. While I understand that the business is new and they are trying to find their legs, there were just some things that seemed a bit 'off'. From the sliding of the breads (white and wheat sub rolls, plus wraps) across numerous surfaces in the prep area and then placed on the sandwich paper in the end of the line, to the order taker applying lip gloss behind the counter. Fries were ok, albeit a bit too salty for my taste. Whole pickle offered on menu; it would be super if you could CUT it for us!!! Honestly, I have not even tried my wrap yet. I am just really hesitant on ingesting something that was seemingly so cross contaminated. The sandwich paper also has an odd odor, which is off putting as well. While some may think that this is a great new sandwich shop, I say pass.

The location of C's is great. It is right between Dekalb and Sycamore and the builing itself is open and socially appealing. The staff are warm and friendly. Even during peak lunch hours there are plenty of smiles and winks to go around. Then theres the food. The cold sandwiches top a Jimmy John or Subway any day, and the hot subs are on their own angelic level of pure ecstacy. Finally, there are the fries. Literally, the BEST FRIES EVER. My only complaint is that They dont offer some sort of larger fry basket or bucket or wheel-barrow so that i could eat them on a more satisfactory scale. Now stop reading and go get your eats on!

This is the second time I've been here. The food is fresh. The cook makes the food in front of you. The prices are great. The area they cook the food and the dining area have been clean each time. Staff is friendly. Main appeal for me is ability to get a sub and cheese fries; I'm used to sub places only having chips. I leave here feeling like I had a healthy, nutritious meal (I didn't have cheese fries this time) and feel full.

Every time we go to Carmine's it is great! We have tried a variety of items and they never fail. My husband loves the Huskie and I like the bbq chicken sandwich. Their fries are delicious and my kids live their chocolate chip cookies. I just found out they also deliver! Even better! Definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed!

I had the Turkey sub and it was amazing. They encouraged me to try it. the way they recommend and I'm glad I did as it was a flavor explosion. The bread was soft and fresh. The frys were excellent. Looking forward to trying their Philly Cheesesteak.

I was skeptical at first but the sandwich was assembled well ( mayo on opposite side of cheese ) good meats excellent bread. Quality sandwich place if you are in the area. Hopefully it takes root because it is far superior to subway or those sorts of places.

I wish I visited Carmine's sooner! I have heard great things since they have opened, and I finally drove over to see if the reviews and great stories that I heard were true, turns out they were! I ordered the Santa Fe Steak and it was phenomenal. The service was great, along with the cleanliness. A+ to the owner(s) of Carmine's. I believe it is a family business too! Cannot beat that. I will definitely bring my family sometime soon. Keep up the hard work!
