We were in the Chicago area for a funeral, and stopped for dinner. We'd frequent this place for the stuffed pie if we lived here! The crust is flaky, and most importantly, for a 16 inch pie, cooked perfectly. The middle is perfect and so are the edges-passing a significant test for a stuffed pie. Can't stand doughy middles, period! The toppings are great and the sauce a bit on the sweet side. The pizza is a 5, the service is a 3. Small place, servers seemed busy-but they should always stop at a their tables for a quick "everything ok?" We had to ask for drink refills and the check. We would definitely return for the pizza if we have a chance.

This review is based on a one time experience. We ordered takeout - the 12" Neapolitan, Chicago crust, with added onions. The pizza was ready on time, as they told us, and the staff was friendly both over the phone and on site. Though, we were extremely disappointed with our pizza. In my opinion, the ratio of crust to everything else should not be 9 to 1. I have included an image to allow for other Yelpers to judge for themselves. Please take a look. In addition, the only things we could taste (aside from crust) were the pepperoncini (expectedly) and the sauce. The cheese, pepperoni and onion flavors just did not come through as they seemed to have used less than the bare minimum of each. I'm I wrong here? Is this perhaps a case of mistaken expectations? I'm giving them a star for customer service and because the sauce actually tasted very good. If I ever have the chance to eat again at Maciano's (I'm not from the area) I will update this review.

So I've finally revisited Maciano's ..... And I have to say I liked it a lot better this time. The waiter was on top of his game, and the pizza was awesome!! This time my boyfriend and I went for a thin crust sausage pizza. Very nice crispy crust! We also tried the inferno wings- those things were hotter than a son of a b*tch!! I liked em though. Looking back I know I looked dumb eating those wings because my nose was running! #Mess The leftover pizza also reheated very week the next day!! Just as awesome as when we dined in! Good job Maciano's!! We will definitely be back!

Holy cow, their family takeout portions are an ENORMOUS value! (also: enormous, value) When a single serving size of Chicken Parm is $9.99 on their menu, I was skeptical that a family portion takeout at $33 was going to feed the six of us. "Really? 'Serves six or seven'?" I thought the young lady on the phone perhaps ate like a bird and was grossly misjudging the size. Boy, en how, six or seven. And leftovers for lunch tomorrow. And a free 12" cheese pizza for our resident vegetarian with coupon. Easy, yummy, great value. We'll be offering to pick up dinner on the way to grandma's more often.

I ordered from here for a dinner party I hosted Friday night. I had tried their fettuccine a few months ago and loved it so I planned it around ordering that. I also ordered a few orders of chicken fingers. I called around 11am to have it delivered at 6. The girl on the phone was very nice and repeated my order so I thought it would be fine. The food was delivered a little earlier than I would have liked, but no big deal. I waited about a half hour before serving it and once I opened it, I realized the fettuccine had grilled chicken in it, which I did not order and did not want. No one else minded, but I hate grilled chicken in pasta. I was VERY disappointed but at that point I had a house full of people so I didn't see a point in calling them back. Everyone liked the food and it came with a lot of garlic bread, but this put a small damper on the night. Next time I will make sure to check the order right away before the delivery person leaves.

AMAZING! Just got a sausage pizza delivered. Everything was melted perfectly, the sausage was great. It was cheap, fast and absolutely delicious. It was our first time trying it & we will most definitely be back.

Service Service and Service!!! Plus Excellent Pizza doesn't hurt either. I gave it 5 stars the first time and I am giving it 5-stars again but for different reason. We went out with our 4 kids on Valentines. We figured it was going to be busy and packed but we thought if we got there at 5 we should be okay. We got a table and ordered right away. Well it took a LONG time for the pizza and after 40 mins (which seemed like 2 hours with little ones) we asked for the manager and told him what happened. He got on it right away and immediately brought the kids food out. Our pizza took a couple extra mins. For all our troubles the manager took care of our bill. They were so nice about it. The main thing was that acknowledged that they made a mistake and fixed it. I don't see that too often. Note on the kids pizza: Okay this time my kids weren't allowed to make their own pizza, the waitress said it was only for school functions but it has been a while since we dined in so maybe things changed a bit. We were okay with that.

Pizza was awesome, delivered in a timely manner. Just moved to the area so this place will def be our go to. Ordered the pepperoni classic double dough. Highly will recommend. Only wish is they had cheddar poppers instead of cream cheese!

We went before. Very good pizza. We left tonight-no pizza-poor service. It's a small place three waitresses. No excuse really. Wait staff seemed to only do one thing at a time like carry an empty tray. Couldn't also grab menus or even say "hi be right back." Just didn't seem to care. Last times service fair, tonight not acceptable. There seems to be no leader on site-maybe that's it. Oh well.

I'm a Chicago deep dish guy disappointed with the big name guys. Those guys have sort of gone industrial and in my opinion anyway lost their flavor along the way. I hadn't tried a Chicago style from Maciano's yet and thought I would give it a try. I would say it's "safe" and I'll give it 3 out of 5 stars. I like to taste the individual components, the crust, the sauce, the chews, the added ingredients. The crust was cooked well and the flavor was ok. The added ingredients were barely there and I only actually tasted them occasionally. The cheese did come through here and there and it to was ok. For me the sauce was the best part, not to sweet with just a very slight tang, just the way I like it but with the lack of flavor from the the others it sort of overpowered everything.

We were in town visiting family and the pizza was fantastic. Got the Chicago deep dish and even the 12 inch was way more than we could handle. Service was very good - they refreshed our drinks several times and even put the football game on I wanted. Will be back here for sure.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! Pizza is awesome and the chicken parmesan sandwich is out of this world! I have to get it every time I come in. The staff is always very friendly and we have never had a problem when dining in.

Awesome Pizza, Sandwiches (turkey club with avocado is amazing ohhh and get the fries!) and just about everything else I have ordered here. I was doing a large amount of ordering due to falling on the ice this year and breaking my femur. Still is not healed but another story. The online ordertracker is super updated and food always comes hot and fresh. Have even ordered salad with pizza and salad came cold and crispy! Try the white pizza for something different and yummy!

Typically good service and excellent pizza, but not this time. My wife ordered two pizzas for pickup from North Aurora/Butterfield on Sunday Feb 2. I arrived and was told there was no order. A great deal of confusion among the staff followed, including getting my wife on the cell so she could talk to them. A delivery guy finally comes in and says he has the pizzas. The mistake that took ten minutes is not the issue. The attitude of the unenthusiastic clerks is. One said it wasn't her fault and the other said they were very busy. Really? So am I. If those kinds of customer service people worked for me, they would be fired on the spot. The correct answer would have been to tell me that they will rectify the situation and, if needed, bake two new pizzas asap. It's not the mistake; it's how it was handled. After 15 years of patronage, it's time to try someone else.

good thin crust and great sweet sauce. I wish there was more of it on the actual pizza. also, $19 for a medium carryout pizza is pricey (1 1/2 toppings).

Our favorite weekly place. Love the pizza! The Beef deluxe is another favorite. Every item on the menu that we have tried has been delicious. $2 bottles of beer is a added perk!

I have found the pizza of my dreams! Since moving to Plainfield/Joliet area 8 months ago I've been trying to find a great pizza. Considering that's all there is around here it shouldn't be too hard but just wasn't getting there until now. I ordered a thin crust ( hate all that extra dough!) The Works which has everything under the sun on it! I also ordered a piece of tiramisu and a cannoli. Yea having a sweet tooth attack! They have an awesome online system that tells you where in the process your order is so I knew when it was on its way and right in time for a Friday. It was HOT when I got it, not warm HOT!! I opened the box and thought there was a mistake cause the pizza was like 3/4 of an inch high and I thought they had sent a thick crust. Nope! That was all toppings!! This was amazing pizza, fresh toppings, not Jared, canned anything. Sauce was awesome, and it's incredible cold too!! I will say it's not cheap pizza but pizza made this way would not be and it is worth it!! And the tiramisu ?.. ..OMG!!!! To die for!!! Haven't had the cannoli yet . I'll have to try other stuff if I can get past this pizza!

We ordered all types of pasta last night, and everyone was sick last night and today! We had baked mostacolli, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken parmesean and some sort of penne alla maciano. Hopefully it was just a fluke, but we wont be returning.

For the area, this place is pretty good. For a while, I was stuck on their beef sandwich ($7) with cheese for quite a long time. They also make a good chicken parm. sandwich ($7) for what it is. Pizza wise, if its your first time, I would stick with the thin crust. Has a lot of flavor, you can't go wrong. The pan & double dough take longer and lacked flavor crust wise. Place is very similar to Rosati's.

Wonderful pizza each and every time! We are fans of the double crust with extra cheese. More than fills up a family of 4 with enough left over for the kids the next day.

It is the best thin-crust pizza available for delivery in the area. Their pastas are wonderful, too!! The family size pasta trays are a good value and our entire family loved the ravioli. Online ordering makes it super convenient, as do the online coupons. Be sure to try the Calzones too!!

Since moving to the Joliet area, I had been hard pressed for a good pizza joint. This place being up the street from me has become a weekly go-to. The thin crust pizza is amazing as noted by the previous poster, with the chicken pizza being my absolute favorite. The pastas are good too. The colli' is good, but the angel hair with arrabiatta sauce was and always is amazing. Hell, get any pasta with that sauce and you won't be disappointed, however...warning: very spicy!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
