We drive 20 minutes to eat at Gonzos at least once a week. Gonzo is always so nice and we talk music and guitars. They always make us feel like family every time we are there. This pizzas are the best around. As far as price you get what you pay for. If you want s cheap pizza then goto Pizza Hut. I prefer a great pizza so I goto Gonzos! The crust is awesome, the sauce is an old recipe and is wonderful. If your in sandwich for the antiques of the fair this is where you need to eat!

I was really looking forward to trying this pizza because I had heard good things about it, plus they were offering a deal on free delivery. I was very disappointed. It really had no flavor at all, plus the toppings were rubbery. We'll stick Rosati's and Maciano's from now on. They never disappoint. Wish we could have gotten our money back.

I was immediately greeted upon entering. Informal but friendly. I didn't really know what to expect from that point. We started with the pulled pork nachos. The pulled pork was delicious and it was coated with a decent cheese. The chips were standard. Then we had the special (one of the specialty pizzas) we had it customized so half was black olive and half was green olive. It was exactly as we asked for. It was fresh ingredients, cooked well. And lots of toppings. We were very impressed. It is a touch expensive, but I felt it was worth it.

My wife grew up in the Aurora/Oswego area and has first hand knowledge about the pizza battle that has been waged throughout the years with the little local pizza restaurants in the area. When she heard that Gonzo's uses the original Gario's receipt, which even Gario's does not use anymore, we made the trip out to Sandwich right away and have been hooked ever since. At Gonzo's they make their own crust, sauce and sausage in house and you can tell. My wife and I have been there so much though that we have grown quite close to the owner and staff so my opinion is a bit biased but trust me, this is great pizza and you will not be disappointed. The thin crust pizza is twice baked so it is nice and crispy, the deep dish pizza will shame any one of those "Chicago Pizza" restaurants, and their beef sandwiches are out of this World. Go...Enjoy...

Thank you Yelp for finding Gonzo's. I went to the Sandwich fair and Gonzo's pizza is a very close second to Vito and Nick's in Chicago and that is a very high compliment. Best sausage topping you will ever try, even better than V&N. The thin crust was outstanding. V&N gets the edge because their thin crust is unmatched by anybody that I know of. Gonzo's is a must try if you are anywhere near Sandwich. I live in Chicago, but will be coming back often as I have friends in Somonauk that I visit. Try Gonzo's once. You will be very glad that you did. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! (Our waitress, Paige, was very attentive to our needs and made my wife and I feel very important)

Put this one on your list to try! Great pizza, welcoming staff and warm environment. We had a thin crust Italian beef, green pepper and giardiniera. So good! The crust was thin and crispy, with great flavor. The sauce was delicious and the rest of the ingredients were very fresh. The local folks in Sandwich are lucky to have Gonzo's in their backyard. We drove a bit for it and we will do it again, and again.

I love the pizza here! Pricey, but good.however the last time I came in to the restaurant I had a bad experience with the owner.I was late picking up our pizza because I had meet a friend before. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner.told him my name.he went to get our pizza.when he returned he sarcastically said"you know they've been sitting there for an hour right? "I was a little taken back by this and apologized.however he continued with his rant about how busy they were earlier and what a pain it was to shuffle our pizza around. Also stated he saw our number on the caller id and by that he knew we wouldn't stiff him. I felt it rude and unprofessional of him to give me a hard time about being late as well as giving me a sob story about how busy it was. Again,I love the food here, but after the rude experience I had with the OWNER,it has soured me from ever purchasing a pizza from them again.unfortunately I've told friends if this experience, whom will probably not buy from him either.

With all the "Fast Food" chain pizza places these days, it is sure nice finding an independent like Gonzo's that really puts their heart and soul into their food and service. The Owner Gonzo even on a busy night, took the time to come out to the dining room to say "hi"....and i'm not talking about the normal Meet & Greet either. Gonzo really took the time to get to know us and to make sure we really enjoyed our meal.

I love this place! The pizza is very good, but the service is the best. They make you feel like family! Horray, a place where people actually care about their customers, what a rare trade these days!
