As a fan of GOOD Italian subs, I had to try this place. Was interested in their proscuitto/cappicola offering. $11.95 for the "giant". Bread was giant. Meat was ridiculously scant. Continued the order process knowing I was not going to be satisfied. Asked for oil and vinegar finish and almost jumped the counter. Server completely drenched half the bread in red vinegar. Condiments NEVER go on the bread. After tax $13 later I take the responsibility to steer others clear of this disaster. Not a fan of Subway, I assure you they would be the lesser of two evils. Jimmy John's, here I come. $12 will get you a double-meat sub that satisfies.

If you're like me, you like an old school, no frills place to eat that tastes good. While it's a franchise, nothing comes closer to that than Jersey Mike's here in Rockford. The bread is phenomenal as are the ingredients so if you're a simple sub fan you will not be disappointed. The guys behind the counter are really nice too and it lends itself well to that "old school deli" feel. I highly recommend.

best submarine sandwich of all time by far in rockford. tell all your friends you will not walk away from this place hungry. a bit of a line sometimes, but that's because they are good. they serve hot sandwiches too.

This review is of the service and not the food. The food was the same good Jersey Mikes food as normal. However, the service was my issue. I ordered a giant #13 to split between my 2 small children and myself. I asked that they cut the sandwich in half prior to toppings because my children like it plain and I like it Mike's way. The lady making my sandwich was going to be more than accommodating until the shorter heavy middle aged guy said they could not do this without charging me for 2 originals instead of a giant..... $2 more. So in order to save their company money by not using toppings, I had to pay more. I told him I was just going to toss it in the garbage. He said I had to pay extra. So I got the whole sandwich Mike's way and thew the toppings for the second half away. So much for customer service and business sense.

Jersey Mike's rules. The staff rules. They're all philanthropic and shit...always asking if you wanna donate to the latest disaster or battered women's shelter or orphan museum or whatever. ...but their Shore Points rewards card is useless. You have to buy six miles of sub before you get a reward. You basically have to buy enough subs to line a shore for your Shore Points to go to work for you. I might be alone on this, but I feel like if you're gonna make me carry around a card...like a legit, plastic card...you should make your rewards come more frequently. Do a monthly thing where on certain days, you get triple points or something, I don't know. I'm gonna be 60 years old telling my grandkids about the ONE time I got a free sub from Jersey Mike's. Also, it would be heaps wicked if I could update my information online instead of having to send an impassioned telegraph to Jersey Mike's Headquarters in Langley, Virginia to get a phone number change. I got a different phone number and now I guess I'm just fxcked. Having gotten my bitching out of the way, their subs are second to none. They're so good, I'm almost willing to buy the six miles of sub I need to get free shit. Almost. I checked 'romantic' in the ambience section because I lol'd. It's only romantic if you make it that way. If you were 900 lbs and had a huge mouth, you could probably do the Lady and the Tramp spaghetti scene with a giant #13 Classic Italian. Fatty. luv u guys tho frfr.

This has become one of my favorite sandwich places! To watch them slice and make your sandwich gives that east cast deli vibe!! If you like s little spice on your sub, you must order the cherry pepper relish!!! I'm also a big fan of their Philly's, the chipotle mayo is nice twist.

Fast, friendly, and perhaps overly eager service. Modern, clean ambience - without deafening music blaring . JJ's you know who I'am talking about. The Big Kahuna cheese steak was great - loaded with meat and cheese.

This was my number one go to place when I lived on the campus nearby. Even now I'll still try to stop by when I can. They have fresh bread && excellent fresh deli meat that they slice right in front of you. I also really like the staff, it's a very welcoming and fun environment.

I had never heard of Jersey Mike's before it popped up in Rockford. I heard that it was better than Jimmy John's and I love that place so I wanted to try it. I would say that its like Subway but better quality. Its not really like Jimmy Johns besides the fact that they both sell sandwiches. The first time I came was with a friend and we were the only customers there. We mentioned to the guy behind the counter that we hadn't been there and he was really nice and told us about the menu and then told us what their most popular hot sub and cold sub were. We got one of each and split it. The Italian is the most popular cold sub. We got a regular and the thing is huge! We ordered its Mike's Way and it was delicious. The Philly Cheesesteak is their most popular hot sub so we just got that how it comes with onions and peppers. We really liked both sandwiches and Ive been back a few times since. I would suggest getting their free reward card because I got the points for the first 2 subs we got and when I came back, I already had enough points for a free mini sub, which arent mini at all. Some days are even double points. I would also suggest to sign up for their texts too. I went back today with my boyfriend because I got a text saying if you buy a sub you get chips and a drink free. The sandwiches are kind of expensive too. It was $14 for 2 regular size sandwiches.

The Big Kahuna is a fantastic cheese steak, either with chicken or steak. Very tasty, piping hot, and filling (I had two only because it was so damn addicting; unlike the skimpy subs at a place with two first names). Only complaint is its a tad pricey.

I decided to try this place after driving by several times. Unlike the reviewer before me, I had never heard of this chain and therefore had no expectations. Their menu is pretty large and appears that it changes on some sort of schedule, as the items are numbered but not in any real order. I ordered the "Big Kahuna" cheese steak and opted to add chipotle mayo. It was good and again, unlike the previous reviewer,y sandwich had a boatload of meat and the bread was good (not great). It was a large sandwich even though they call it a regular (7.5"). It weighed in around 1 pound or so. The cheese was of the processed variety but that's ok by me as it melts with a good consistency. My daughter had the chicken Caesar wrap and said it was good with the right amount of meat and lettuce. The prices are consistent with other sun shops. The store was clean and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend this place if your in the mood for a decent sub in a friendly atmosphere.

We went to Jersey Mike's for lunch today. They are relatively new and I hadn't been there yet. Yay new places for lunch! We walked in and there was a decent line of people waiting to be served as well as most of the dining area filled. The service is a little slow, but to be honest not any slower than what you would find at most sandwich shops. Of course I'm normally used to placing my order then waiting. I'm not used to waiting to place my order and then getting to wait even more. In fact we waited so long to get our food that the cashier forgot if we paid for our meals... which we had. The staff was very friendly, but a couple of them and a guy I believe was the manager was more interested in horsing around and chit chatting amongst themselves. When the person on the grill brought over our sandwiches and placed them next to the cashier, he didn't acknowledge it. We had to reach over to grab them so we could leave. When we grabbed them is when he asked if we had paid, not if we wanted a bag or napkins or anything else. My wife ordered the Jersey Mike's Famous Philly, I ordered the Chipotle Cheesesteak. We both agreed that it was okay. It's on the same level as all the other chains out there; nothing special, nothing bad. We both thought the bread was a little doughy and the meat on mine was little chewy and tough. My wife said her's wasn't too bad. So I'm going to chalk that up to me getting some bad meat. There was an average amount of meat, cheese, onions and peppers on the sandwich. I was hoping for more of a chipotle kick. I like a little heat and this didn't deliver. Overall, it was an okay experience. The level of service was annoying and that in and of itself may determine if I go back to try something else at a later time.

Having grown up near Philadelphia, but now living in the Midwest, I sometimes get a craving for a good old Philly Cheesesteak sandwich, and Jersey Mike's pretty much satisfies my cravings. The quality is very similar to what I grew up with, certainly the closest I've ever found outside of the Philly area. The subs are very generously sized. (Their large cheeseteaks, which they call "Giant," are ridiculously huge -- they're 18+ inches long and full of meat and cheese. You will need a nap afterwards.) My only complaint with the restaurant is that the tables are always filthy. In all the times I've eaten there, I have never seen an employee wipe the crumbs off the tables. Prepare to do that yourself with a napkin. In the non-peak times, the employees have plenty of time to do it -- they just don't. And that's kind of gross. But the food makes up for it, thankfully.

WORST customer service ever! The gentleman (who I presume by his demeanor was"in charge") would not take my order because he said they were too busy..? So you don't want my money? Okay, I'll give it to Jimmy. I guess this is why you work at Jersey Mikes. Stupid. I will continue to go to other locations.

We came here because a few of my friends are big fans of the place. The food was excellent, and I loved that they cut the meat right there in front of you, rather than having it be pre-sliced. I got the club, which I am just realizing now did NOT have bacon on it, as it says on the menu. I won't deduct a star for that, this time! Food was good and ingredients were fresh. The staff was friendly, but the guy making the sandwiches was INCREDIBLY INCREDIBLY slow. Like take your sweet time slow and not understanding that "everything" means everything...you don't have to ask if I want jalapenos, that is included in everything! They could have used at least one other person preparing the sandwiches as there was a line the entire time we were there. Just don't go in expecting a quick meal!

Okay, after seeing this sub place touted on various food tv shows, I thought, cool, I finally get to try Jersey Mike's. The sandwiches look so good on tv, but reality reared its ugly head and excitement quickly turned to dissapointment. I got the Jersey Mike's Famous Philly (they said I couldn't get it in a mini because there's too much meat on it.) That's fine, leftovers for tomorrow, right? I don't think so. There was hardly ANY meat on my sandwich. I litereally opened it up, and the bread inside was really doughy, the cheese was melted, but it took on an unusual consistancy, (makes me wonder if it's real cheese or not some type of processed product) and there were just little "bits" of meat sprinkled around. Oh, but there were an inordinant amount of onions. The bread was nothing to write home about either. I won't say I'll never order a sandwich from Jersey Mike's again, but it ain't gonna be that one!
