Now datsa real panini! Their focaccia is seasoned with herbs but not the sour taste the usual ones have from tomatoes. I think there's bay leaves in the herb blend...sooo good. The Lavazza espresso was rich, dark and satisfying. This is an awesome Italian deli. Eat local!

Best Italian Sausauge I've ever had. Incredibly juicy and flavorful! It was cooked to prefection, and made all the better by a great kaiser roll and hot peppers. DiTulio's seems like it would be a great stop for a quick, tasty lunch.

Best cup of coffee we've had since moving to IL from NJ. Excellent cannoli and excellent quality of meats and cheese and other Italian goodies. Met the owner Anthony, what a great guy. Recommend you stop in for lunch meat grab a double expresso and sit for awhile and relax, you won't regret it!

So I can't explain why I haven't been here before, but I will be back. I was looking for a quick take out lunch and I was right down the road so I popped in and wasn't disappointed. I had the italian panini, mixed olives, and caprese. All of them were excellent. I was also pleasantly surprised by their selection of meats and cheeses.

Not bad - if they can keep the tickets straight. We ordered a sandwich, a salad, and a soup. (Should have known that something was amiss with a pile of about 30 tickets hanging out of the POS machine.) Anyway, they were busy lots of takeout orders heading out so we took our seats an waited. At least 20 minutes later the manager (?) made the rounds of the dining room and assured us they were working on our order. Another 10 minutes (probably more) passed and we noticed customers who arrived after us receiving their food. When we finally inquired, it turns out our ticket was no where to be found. To their credit they got our food out shortly - but there is really no excuse for misplacing an order, noticing we hadn't been served, still not getting the order out, and not apologizing. I'm hoping this was an anomaly - because the food was quite good - but good food and good service must go together.

DiTullio's is the ONLY good Italian Market in Rockford. Feel free to present me with other options, just know before hand my answer will be "I want to kiss you on the mouth to keep you from saying such ridiculous things". I've been here a few times with my Italian grandmother (it's the only place she can find the bread she likes), and have always loved it. That comforting, homey feeling you get walking through the front door is something you only get with a family-owned, local business and it's becoming exceedingly rare. The overall selection is relatively limited (compared to a grocery store), but it is perfect for picking up lunch essentials. The deli counter is what gets most of my business. They have an amazing selection of incredibly fresh meats and cheeses. But they also sell handmade pastas, vinegars, and sauces for you "do-it-yourself" types. Fair warning, you may walk into this market looking for just one special item to complete your meal...but you'll leave wishing you had more storage space in your vehicle.

Fan of the sandwiches - my entire family loved the variety of sandwiches we got. I enjoyed my Spicy Italian sandwich. The bread was perfect (not too hard that my gums suffered, but not too soft that the "juices" tore it apart), and they didn't skimp on the fillings. The only thing I would complain about is the price. I thought the large container of mixed olives looked like a "small", and $5 was a bit steep. Also, there wasn't much of a market. One wall filled with items, but not the greatest selection. I would recommend the food, but find a dedicated Italian market for your grocery needs.

Stopped to eat here after visiting the Anderson Japanese Gardens. Staff is very polite here. The Italian Beef Panini is the best I have ever had. Definitely worth trying out.

This is the best place for italian gourmet sandwiches. They even have an italian specialty market (so for some authentic items including cheeses and meats and pastas and sauces, you have no need to look any further! I love getting their sandwiches to go in the summer and taking them for a picnic in one of many Rockford's parks. They are great warm (the cheesy gets that gooey-goodness) or even cold. When you get there- just stand in line and order and grab a seat (if you are lucky enough to get one) or take it to go. The foccacia that is used to make the sandwiches is perfectly seasoned and baked (and it doesn't hurt your jaw when chewing after time) and the fillers whether meats, veggies +/- cheese-- will be perfect. You won't be disappointed. They have pre-made options (if you can't decide for yourself) or you can get them custom made too to your liking. They have a great variety of kettle chips and desserts to round out your meal.

Great sandwiches and a wonderful selection of Italian goods. Every time I go there I order a different sandwich or panini and I never leave disappointed. If you're a coffee fan, they have great coffee as well.

I tried this place out when looking for a sandwich place. It's really clean and has a gentle feel. Staff is super nice and willing to help. They also have a small market of foods that you can shop and buy if you wanted The food is very good and fresh (literally saw them slice it in front of me). Sandwich was $6.75 (I got their Italian sandwich) and my drink was $1.85. Total was $9 and something. I would come again if I was on a date or wanted something fresh and good. A little expensive but not too bad. And the bread to meat ratio is very good. Better then the traditional subway or Panera.

We love this place!!!! Great food and people. I really can't tell you my favorites bc everything you get to eat is yummy!!! I like that you can buy your meat or have them make you pretty much whatever you can come up with or that they already have. They also carry hard to find products. Oh! Don't forget to get dessert!!!!

Paninis are homemade and delicious! Tortellini salad is unbelievable. Don't forget his coffee and gelato. Anthony is always willing to go out of his way to make sure meal is delicious. His catering is awesome and he has created some great dishes for our events. This is a great Rockford treasure.

I love: ... the paninis. I can't decide which one I love more - the Meat or the Italian Beef. The Meat Panini comes with tomatos, and other deliciousness. The Italian Beef is more plain, but mmmm italian beef. ... the gelatto! LOVE THIS. About 10 different flavors. Definitely try the Blackberry Cabarnet - it's like a frozen sangria. I was told it's really popular mixed with the Vanilla flavor, but I loved it more with the Chocolate. Also, their Pistachio flavor was surprisingly good - and this is coming from a person who hasn't tried pistachio-flavored anything since childhood because of a once-intense hatred of it. ... the friendly workers. They let us try pretty much all of the flavors before we purchased and we went through a gazillion mini spoons. Thanks! ... the super cute store and deli. Lots of tasty-looking cheeses and meats, and other little items. ... the super clean men's bathroom. (The women's bathroom was occupied at the time, and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.)

I've searched all over the Milwaukee and Chicago area, and have yet to find an Italian market that can hold a candle to DiTullio's. The selection is the shop section is relatively small, but I have yet to be disappointed with any of the pastas, oils, vinegars, or sweets that I've picked up there. But the deli counter is what you really go for. The freshly grated parmesan is the secret ingredient to every one of my nana's famous recipes. It's got a smooth, salty flavor that makes the stuff in the green canisters taste like sawdust in comparison. The paninis are also out of this world. As a die-hard carnivore, this place is still the only place to ever make me utter the words "I'd like to order the veggie....". But the veggie panini is too good to pass up. Eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes smothered in super gooey cheese and pressed between fresh, crisp italian bread. YUM. The gelato is a more recent addition, and a perfect compliment to a delicious lunch. The owner was so excited about it, that he let us sample almost every flavor before selecting our favorite. There was a combination of pistacchio, chocolate, and something else that I wound up ordering. It's thick, rich, and a thousand times more decadent than plain old ice cream. DiTullio's is quite a hike from the highway, but well worth the trip!

Ditullio's is a great Italian eatery and import store. It's been around for years and is family owned. They recently moved locations to a newer trendier look (I'm liking it) and remains my family's favorite store. My favorite thing to eat here is the Panini....talk about things that make you go mmmmm! They offer a veggie and a meat panini and they are out of this world! Not too sure why they are using the more traditional panini bread now because they used to make their own panini bread which was different and BETTER :D Either way I am a huge fan of their Panini's they are excellent and very satisfying (that's my new word for The Best... lol). The veggie panini is filled with eggplant, tomatoes, artichokes, cheeses, and is drizzled with olive oil (there are more ingredients I can't remember)... and my mouth watered as I remembered the taste :) I mentioned they're family owned and you're treated real nice there if you've never been here and are from Rockford you are missing out.

Went here a couple times while on business trips and it was so good I have had dreams of their sandwiches and OLIVES! Far to the west of the main food drag off the interstate exchanges, no where near the Cherry Vale Mall, think more toward old city center area on State, but not quite that far. Be watching for it, easy to miss!! It's a small place, 6 - 8 small tables, seating 2 to 4 persons. Once you pass the tables and the gellato (if you can) you get to the area where you can order deli meats, cheeses, and so on from the case, or do some shopping from the shelves behind you, and the small display case where the small and large antipasti, salads, desserts are located. Sandwich varieties are great, made to order. Great drink choices in the cooler too. There were no tables open when we arrived, and that was ok because we were planning to take our food to go. Something went wrong and others were served before us and as soon as that was noticed the owner brought us some antipasti and threw in a large assortment of olives with out order. They were delicious!! The sandwiches were delicious!!! I couldn't wait to go back the next day, no problem with the orders and no wait this time. I also picked up a jar of chopped muffeletta toppings that are so good I might have to order some on line to get me thru the rest of the winter til i can get back. I actually have no desire to entertain any other restaraunt, except maybe some place on the north side of the city Greenfire. Good firewood pizzas, good bar, main drag and another big intersection. Anyway, I have rarely wanted to go back to any restaurant, but DiTullio's has a customer for as long as they are there! Hope that is a long long long time. One star less than perfect due to location, traffic probs getting in and out, and a slightly disorganized staff, but that can change by the day. My stomach says 5 stars!

My husband and I ventured to DiTullio's for lunch today and had a great time. We arrived before the crowd and really enjoyed the experience. I ordered the meat panini with cappocollo, fresh tomato, basil, olive spread, and mozzarella and fontinella cheese. Yum! My husband order the hot & spicy with cappocollo, salame, and fontinella cheese, with their signature dressing. Yum also! While we waited we checked out their selection of pastas, olive oils, and balsamic vinegars, as well as their cheeses and meats. We decided to get some additional cheese to take home and the price was right. After our lunch, we ordered some of their Gelato's. They had several to choose from including spumoni, vanilla bean, blackberry cabernet, and coppa mista, which is a mixture of chocolate, vaniila, pistacho, and almond. How can this lunch get any better? The decor was simple with plenty of seating for the rush of people that we experienced (about 12 tables). The owner took the time to chat with us and described how he serves his customers what he would expect to receive. I give him and his market & cafe double thumbs up. I have been to other places similar to this in other states, and I haven't found anything that compares to this within a 100 mile radius. We will be coming back not only for the food, but also the great service. We're looking forward to our next visit.

Ugly interior with bad seating in an area you might stay out of after dark. Oh wait, it closes in the late afternoon so you can't even carry out... Good food, bad business choices

Great, high-quality lunch spot away from the mass-market commercial district. Fresh italian deli-style sandwiches and sides are the ticket here. Another find from Yelp that turned out to be a winner.

Great place and great food! I had the Italian Beef Panini and was highly impressed with it. The staff are very friendly and try to remember you and your choices - that's the beauty of small, family-run joints. They had quite a selection of breads. I loved their food very much. I found their hours to be very weird though - closing at 5:30 pm. And not even open on Sunday. Anyway, this place is worth few visits because of the food.
