The food at this restaurant is sub par.I ordered pasta and the marina sauce tasted like prego. The pizza my husband ordered was worse then a frozen pizza. We waited a long time for our food, and since we had small children with us this was pretty inconvenient. Especially to wait a long time for mediocre food. Needless to say we will not be returning.

Alfano's has always been my favorite pizza spot in Rochelle! Since I've grown up, I've tried more on their menu, like the baked mostaccioli and Italian Beef sandwich, which are both excellent. I think my favorite thing about Alfano's has got to be their red sauce. It's a little bit sweet and a lot unique. We like to dine in occasionally, it's nothing special but no complaints. Usually I order something for pick up, as the delivery can sometimes be slow.

City boy enjoyed the country pizzeria! What's not to like about fried dough?!? Beer nuggets Italian style were def a must have and the pizza was far exceeding what I thought I'd have. Good crispy thin crust the toppings were well proportioned and fresh. When visiting my sister this will be on the list to revisit back to. Glad I convinced them to go out of Ashton and experience a local restaurant in Rochelle!

Where to begin...first off I can drink their marinara with a straw! We started off with a big basket of beer bread nuggets with Italian seasoning. They are fried and served with marinara sauce. They are phenomenal. Enough for 4! We got a medium Alfano thick crust pizza with black olives instead of green. It was awesome. Thin bottom with a tall crispy crust. Had lots of leftovers and was only $25. We will definitely be back!

We had the lunch buffet. The house salad dressing was excellent. The red sauce was a sweeter sauce. The pizza was good, not greasy. Again if you like a sweeter red sauce this is your place. Good place for kids too. Overall good experience.

You know, for where it is, Alfano's is A-OK. It's not a gourmet restaurant, but it's definitely NOT ketchup on elbow macaroni either. Their menu is very big, and I honestly had a hard time choosing my meal. They have pizza, they have many pastas, a ton of appetizers, salad, sandwiches...many choices. I went with the baked mostaciolli with a meatball. It was good, and big enough for me to take 2 days worth of lunch home with us. Whenever we visit my folks out in the country and they ask what we want to eat while in Rochelle, our reply will likely be Alfano's. Maybe we'll try the pizza next time!

I grew up on Alfano's in Geneva, Illinois...not the same family but it got me in the door and thankfully i've been going back again and again. If you are looking for GREAT pizza and darn good pasta this is the place. I'd put it up against any "family calibur" italian restaurant out there. The pizza, seriously, the pizza is one of those where you can't stop even if you're full...you keep finding a reason to take one more...yeah it's that good. A little disappointed in the canoli but i'm a traditionalist in this regard.

Greeted quickly by both the Hostess and waitress. If we lived in Rochelle This would be our favorite Italian restaurant. We ordered dinners although many we're having pizza, the portions were very generous but as we were traveling one dinner spilt between us would have been plenty. Beer nuggets were great. Large portion of garlic bread along with a side salad came with the dinner. A great place!

It is open for lunch only Friday-Sunday and they offer a Buffet. However we did not make it in time for the buffet. We had a bruschetta to start which was spectacular. Then I ordered a veal parmigiana and my mom a spaghetti. I strongly recommend haring here because the portions are more than enough for two people. Neither of us ate more than half of our plate. The veal came with enough pasta that that alone could be a dish. But it was cheap good food and it was all we were looking for in the middle of a long day of driving.

Always looking for a good Italian restaurant, figured that a small town like Rochelle, IL would have an authentic homemade Italian food. I was wrong. Ordered the lasagna and small pizza, there were more sauce than noodles in the lasagna and pizza did not have enough sauce. Beware of the buffet, the salad was yellow, with only two types of dressing (french and garlic). They had only 5 items in the hot bar, which does not look too appealing. Will not be back and will keep looking for that perfect Italian restaurant.

Our family loves going to Alfano's when we go back to visit family in Rochelle. Their food is excellent and we love their sauce! An earlier poster said that they had too much sauce on their food and not enough on another, i suppose it's all a matter of personal preference but we have never been disappointed. I love their pasta dishes and the beer nuggets are great! They also have a big room for groups with your choice of buffet items. Highly recommend enjoying a night at Alfano's!

Local chain. not too bad, nothing much to offer if you are vegan, but they tried to accommodate us as vegetarians. Tried, meaning they made my dish without chicken, but charged me extra for the mushrooms I substituted, and the dish was already expensive to begin with!! Ok if you are a vegetarian who likes dairy, but not so great for me. It tasted pretty good, but not what I would wish for.

This restaurant is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I am so glad it is located where we live. I previously lived in the Chicago suburbs and nothing I tried there was as great as Alfano's. The food is high quality, they didn't cut back when others did when the economy got bad and they barely raised their prices despite their costs for quality product had to go up. This is the best restaurant in town with the best customer service anywhere.
