Love, Love Love Al's Pizza!! The stuffed with just cheese is the best I've ever had!! I used to drive from the city just to have it! The thin is pretty good too We usually get sausage + Mushroom! As far as the other food goes I would probably rate it a 4 at most. They are definetly famous for the delicious Pizza!! Must try!!!

This was one of the offshoots of the Al's in Cicero. I say "was" because they do not list each other on their menus - Cicero lists itself as Al's Italian Restaurant and this (and Woodridge) are Al's Pizzeria. And though there was really no difference initially when this location opened compared to Cicero, the Cicero location I feel has gone downhill. The flavor of the pizza itself is different. This location reminds me much more of the Al's I remember. It's hard to qualify what some of the differences are other than to say that if you've been getting it from the Cicero location and you think it has changed, it probably has. Give this one a shot and see if you agree with me.

The quality of the pizza was not necessarily the problem. The main issue with our experience with Al's and why we will never order from there again was the poor customer service after we called back to explain that our pizza arrived cold. We had a house full of people and everyone was hungry. The pizza took an hour to arrive, which wasn't terrible. But when it did arrive it was cold and everyone ate anyways. It was the day after a wedding and nobody wanted to wait another hour just to get pizza that was hot. We decided to call after everyone came to the consensus that we were disappointed that the pizza was cold. Who knows, maybe we'd get a buy one get one free coupon for next time. Instead, the woman we got on the phone claimed the pizza arrive in less than 45 minutes, and also claimed that they weren't responsible for the cold pizza. I had a house full of 20 people that disagreed. Anyways, the woman claimed we were bluffing and that we hadn't even ordered pizza because our phone number was not matching up with their system! After she finally found the order, and over 5 minutes on the phone, she offered a measly 10% off our next purchase. Unfortunately there will not be a next purchase and this could have been avoided even with a simple apology. Very very poor customer service.

Nothing too Fancy and not the Umphrey's McGee song, but good pizza. Love the Football pizza. They also have a dinner special, one toping pizza, wings, pasta, and coke for like $25 it's a lot of food too! Beat the pizza man is a game to play with your spouse. You order a pizza, then shag and try to be done by the time the pizza man arrives. Everyone is a winner!

The food here was really good, and the staff was friendly. It wasn't expensive and it was quite delectable and filling. Inside was clean and nice with the design and the pictures.

The 1 star is only for the outlandish price I paid for the quality & quantity of the food I rec'd. I have had pizza from Al's many times-I love the pizza! This time I wanted something sort of healthy. I ordered the lemon & oregano chicken for delivery. I paid $27.00 for 2 flat chicken breasts!! Not what I was expecting at all. I was extremely disappointed with the food for the price-$27 for a chicken breast!! I will stick to the pizza from now on.

Not bad considering what's in the Westchester, Broadview, Riverside area. The meat lovers pizza is the best thing on the menu.

In attempt to pick my jaw up off the floor. I'll start by saying I use to be a regular at Al's. I would order the family pack all the time (football pizza, dozen wings 1/2 tray of mostaccioli & two 1-liter cokes. The wings was the best thing but hated the mostaccioli (I only kept ordering it because it was cheaper to get the package vs. ordering the pizza and wings separate.) It had been possible more than 5 years since I last gotten anything from here and just completely forgot what this pizza tasted like but recall they had other items. It was 11:15pm and at the time I couldn't think of many places that were close that were open. Why was I craving onion rings and a Burger. The place basically looked DEAD. When I pulled up it was only one car parked in front of the place. but lights looked half on half off and I didn't see anyone in the front.. Got to the door and it was locked and figured they just closed 45min early today. Got back in my car as I started my car up someone came from out the back kitchen to the front door and waved me back. He mentioned they keep the door lock when no one is in front. (I'm sure all customers appreciate that!) Walked back in asked for onion rings. cheese burger and a slice pizza. (Yeah that much....it was going to be a long night.) wish I had looked at the menu. turns out cheese burger was $7.50 and automatically comes with fries. (I can see that at a sit down restaurant but not a fast food joint.) Onion rings were good but I always say white castle makes good onion rings. Burger well it was a 1/2 pound but minus that it wasn't doing anything. I could have gone to burger king and had it my way for less. I bite into the pizza and from that moment on I was trying to figure out why in the world I was going to Al's so much in the first place. My first thoughts was I knew I shouldn't have gotten this slice knowing that it possible had been sitting out for some time. Matthew N. review hit this exactly like it tasted to me. microwave melted cheese on ketchup cardboard. I notice they remodeled, expanding the kitchen. it's now only three SMALL tables to sit at in the front of the register and not the tables and chairs you see in the photos, but they really need to CLEAN up by removing that old wooden cupboard. You have mail, fed ex box's, cups, napkins, cash register machine paper rolls, inventory files, caulk and other crap that don't belong up there. If you're in love with the desserts you can but buy it from Lezza Spumoni & Desserts and Eli's cheesecake (I recognize the cannoli + tray and Italian ice flavors) Although I have a feeling ordering a whole pizza would give different results I'm not willing to waste my money to find out. Only reason why I would come back here would be to try out the wings one last time in hopes they didn't mess that up.

Hideous! Went there with my son who was starving. I bought two slices of overpriced pizza. After making it only half way through one slice my son stopped eating. WHa? This boy loves pizza. I asked him if he was full and all he said back was, "Just try it, Dad," I did. Tasted like ketchup poured on top of cardboard with microwave-melted cheese. Absolutely disgusting! I didn't even ask for my money back. I felt so disrespected that my only thought was to get the heck out and NEVER return. How are they still in business?

I have ordered many times from Al's Pizza and I have always enjoyed it. The pizza is good and they have great specials. The last 2 orders i have had problems. For the second time now they have not been able to get into the building or contact me for access. I have given them my information over and over again. When I got my pizza I also got a lecture and a scolding from the delivery driver about how he couldn't get in the building or in contact with me. I verified my phone number and they had it wrong. I had given them the door number to punch in but he didn't know it. This is not my fault. When I called to complain I was told that the manager was busy. He did however say that they were sorry and I hope that you get a nicer delivery person the next time you order. After years of ordering it saddens me to say that I will be looking elsewhere for pizza.

Good food good price. Nothing fancy. Tasty pizza. I had the tomato with fresh mozzarella and it was seasoned perfect. I have been there a few times and tried other things on the menu and no complaints. Has a kids menu thats a bonus!

I have been ordering from Al's Cicero location for several years and the quality is just as good at this location, if not better. Al's has always been known for their excellent, yet underrated thin crust pizza and this place doesn't disappoint. If you're a fan of the original location in Cicero, you will not be disappointed

HORRIBLE customer service!! I placed an order at Al's because my Aunt recommended the place. I refuse to place another ordee at Al's because the service is so awful. I went into the restaurant, placed my order and waited in the dining area. After waiting for a couple of minutes, one of the male employees approached me. He wanted to see my receipt. Before I could respond, he had already grabbed the receipt from my hand! I wasn't given any explanation for why he needed the receipt. He was very rude. He finally came back to give me my receipt and he gave the reason for grabbing it. The icing on the cake was opening the pizza at home and seeing that the cheese had slid. I couldn't believe it, I've never opened a pizza that looked like that before. I didn't bother calling back for a new pizza. Why? It was obvious that they didn't want my service, so I won't be back. Get your customer service together Al's.

Haven't been to Al's since the pyramids and its nice that they had a location near where I was that day for those that don't want to go into Cicero. Prices didn't seem too bad for a well-established local business whom can charge whatever they please since most will pay it. Got a stuffed pizza to go. Sauce was more on the oregano side, wished the crust had more flavor. Not too shabby overall.

Love their pizza, I order here often since it's less then 1 minute from my house, the only thing I don't like is that their employees are not very friendly.

Al's is my teenage niece's favorite pizza--she may age out of this opinion soon since she has hit puberty. I think it's great for delivery for kids. They have a babysitter's special deal that is a 14" large cheese pizza, 12 chicken fingers, cheesy garlic bread, and a liter of pop for 19.95. This special is available daily. It is cheap and the kids love it. I find it a little mild for my taste but it's a great crowd pleaser for the tot to picky teen set and I see it more as an alternative to frozen pizza for kids (think along the line of a John's pizza or Totino's, not classy frozen like Kashi or a Home Run Inn). They have a pick-up only special that is (4) sausage sandwiches or (4) Italian beef sandwiches for 14.25. We like this as a quick, decent, cheap takeout option. Al's is in the town of North Riverside, not Riverside.

I've had takeout from here twice now after the suggestion of my sister who works at Loyola and has had it catered in a few times. This is a little hole in the wall-type place with a few tables inside if you decide to eat in, but it definitely seems like it's mostly a take-out and delivery place. To start...I must say that the lady who was working behind the counter when I stopped in was hilarious and SUPER friendly! SO my type of person! Love her! And the owner is who handed me my food after helping prepare it in the back...um...yeah...totally my type of place! I have tried the vegetarian pizza, hot and parmesan/garlic wings and the breaded mushrooms. I have to honestly say that everything was AMAZING! The pizza was perfection, tons of FRESH veggies and plenty of melt-y cheese. Yum! And the mushrooms remind me of the ones from Brown's chicken which in my opinion is a very high compliment! =] Now those wings...those LARGE, crunchy, juicy wings...OMG...SO good! My favorite is the garlic/parm because they are tossed with TONS of fresh garlic, butter/oil and parmesan. They are honestly WAY more than one would expect from a little pizza place. Holla Al's! I will definitely continue to order from here in the future for my takeout order needs! =]

Food is not good, price is expensive. I also really don't like the computer desk chairs behind the desk. They are so filthy dirty I have no idea how the owner isn't embarrassed when his customer's see this.

As the sign says, this is a pizza place. If you are looking for great pasta or chicken wings, go somewhere else. If you are looking for the best thin crust pizza within twenty miles, go here. I recommend picking it up to go. You aren't missing anything not dining in. This place is open near the heart of the pizza district of Cicero/Berwyn. Some of Chicago's best chains have started in these neighborhoods, and this place came right in and is here to stay. Their football pizza can feed 6-7 hungry men for around $30. Personally, I like it with sausage and giardanera (sp?) well done. The well done really makes it. Al's is my favorite thin crust anywhere near the city, and I eat pizza like it is going out of style.

After a less than par first impression, Al's definitely redeemed themselves. My roommate and I received credit for a pizza as an apology for our experience. I certainly was not expecting anything to come of my first review. It's refreshing to see a business that is striving toward customer satisfaction. I've been in the hospitality industry long enough to respect their integrity. Sure, I got a free pizza out of it, but that wasn't even the best part. Al's is now our go-to delivery option. As nocturnal musicians, you can bet that we make frequent late-night food calls. The pizza is fantastic. The delivery is timely. Sweet deal.

We've had Al's before at friends' houses, and y'know, pizza is pizza. It's a good solid regular pizza. But then we had our coupon from LivingSocial, and decided to try their stuffed pizza. And I think I could eat it morning, noon, and night every day until I die. Or pass out from being stuffed. Or explode, spewing pizza all over the place. Whatevs. Totally delish, perfect stuffed pizza. We just got cheese, and I almost snapped at my husband this morning when he wanted to take the leftovers to work. Delivery or takeout - there's a couple small tables along one wall, but not a dining room. Go there now!

Um...really? What's with all the positive reviews of this place? The pizza was naaaaaaasty. A frozen Tombstone pizza is far superior to the stuff they serve here. I can't believe I spent any money on the garbage pizza I just ate from here. The crust is pre-made (complete with processed food pattern holes), crappy cheese, and the "fresh basil" you expect on the Margherita pizza is actually just dried basil flakes sprinkled on. Disgusting. Thumbs down for taste/quality.

My company orders from here quite often. We pretty much always order a football size pizza (feeds roughly 8 people) with ground beef and jalapenos. It is so yummy and it's usually devoured within minutes upon delivery. I stopped in the actual store front yesterday and was pleased to find that I could order just a slice to go. I also made note to try a couple other items I wasn't aware they offered: bruschetta bread, stuffed mushrooms and gelato! I'll let you all know how it goes!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
