Horrible Service. I went through the drive through and the employee said she would be with me in a minute. Ten minutes later and 4 cars behind me drove off. I waited patiently at the drive through and got up to the window and my food was sitting there and then waited another five minutes before an employee gave me my food. The Food was cold and the order was wrong. I told the employee that 4 cars drove off and he said oh well. Wow, what a horrible steak n shake.

On a dry day you'll slide ride across the greasy floor. I see it's tough to find quality employees at a low quality place but one or two no toothed hobos has to be looking for a job. Hire them it couldn't be worse than what is at this place.

Seriously. We ate here and had a server call us "D-bags" to another table for requesting a side of ranch. Never in my life have i had such horrible service and there was only two tables present. If I felt it would make any difference I would contact corporate. I have a feeling this is just how they roll here.

I will not go back to that one again. Wait it 20 min just to be ask if I want some water . We where there for almost 1 1/2 hours what a joke. They where all standing around doing nothing but talk to each other instead serving people. I confront are server,the excuse are server had he been there sense 11 am ,we got there around 3pm ,what does that tell you!I said some to the manager ,he told me he will be talking to are server about it. I also called the number on your receipt and I got a live person to talk to,she told me that is not ok how we got served. We did not leave a tip not a dime. You want a tip you work for it !

Went through the drive up and it was a good fast experience. The lady was friendly and the food was fixed very quickly and also put together right. I hate places that when you get home the sandwich is a mess. This looked and tasted great. Just i noticed the the burgers are getting smaller but its not this places fault.

Can't believe these bad reviews. When visiting back in Pekin we usually get the $4 meal burgers. Maybe we just happen to go to the better Steak-N-Shakes because in Pekin, E. Peoria, and Peoria we have always been treated well and service about normal for this type business. All food is as we remember from back in the drive-up curbie days. Yes we've eaten at local Steak-N-Shakes for over 50 years. Must be some reason we go back. We even like the one in Gainesville, Fl closer to our home. Home will soon be back in Pekin so be ready to see too old people dining at your local Steak-N-Shake.

I went through the drive through with some friends at 11 pm. It took 25 minutes to make seven milkshakes. I think that is a very long time, especially for milkshakes. They weren't that busy inside either.

I can't say enough bad things about my experience at steak and shake tonight. Most of the waitstaff looks like they're not doing anything and the management isn't doing much either. It took 10 minutes for our drinks to come out and finally after half an hour our order for food has been taken. Our server was wearing a headset and seem distracted the entire time she was communicating with our table. I understand that some places are short staffed at night but this restaurant's in attention to their customers is deplorable. It's unfortunate that I can't do less than one star because at this point our food hasn't come out and I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I'm contemplating going to McDonald's and that's a sentence I hope to never utter. By the time our shakes arrived, they were soupy and not shake like at all. Two other tables have received their food before we have, both ordering after us. We have been waiting for well over an hour and our food still isn't here. This is the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant in my entire life. The server just stopped by our table to tell us why it's taking so long and didn't offer an apology. The saga continues. Our waitress seems more interested in flirting with the gentlemen sitting at the bar than serving us.

Omfg. 1124am. Maybe ten people (customers) in the place. It took more than five minutes to be acknowledged after being seated. Another five before our drink orders were took. 20 minutes there after the drinks arrived. Taking notice near the drink station there were 3 wait staff chatting it up with nothing pressing to do. The waitress arrives and seems nearly brain dead and or deaf. This trip feels like a train wreck do far. If the food is, as ordered and tasty ill give another 2 stars. If not then its as noted... 45 minutes into the adventure, food arrives.. for the kids... missing a few cheese sauces, no biggie... another 10 minutes, my wife and I have yet to receive our meals... We express our displeasure to another waitress, who stops in to check on us. The kids are finished at this point, our food has yet to arrive.. I state, openly that this us unacceptable. The manager is summoned and explains that all the staff had recently left, (I wonder why) and that the servers she does have are brand new with no experience.. Fellow Steak and Shake fans, I have been going to this particular steak and shake for years. 3rd shift, 1rst shift, always a great experience.. What he had here today and exactly 2 weeks ago is beyond deplorable. The manager comped the meal. We however we will not be back to this location.
