Bought a frozen sausage pizza from a local Mariano's grocery store. Looked OK at first. But, after getting into it, I found that it had NO Tomato Sauce on it at all. Not even a smear of red under the cheese. I called the restaurant to let them know and talked to a man there who said they had heard this comment before, but didn't seem all that interested. I then called the manufacturer, with the same info and left a message. No one ever called back at all. I guess they don't care! Be careful to save your grocery receipts for a possible refund if this happens to you. Or just buy a Home Run Inn pizza instead.

I love this place!! My family has been coming to Aggis literally since before I was born. In fact, my grandparent's layed out their budget once they were married on one of their old paper menus, it still hangs in my Dad's garage. I have been coming to Aggis since I can remember and they specialize in my FAVORITE pizza: Ultra thin crust! Now it may not fill you up, so you just eat more! Jerry is awesome and always remembers us when we come inside, Tiger sauce is the perfect topping for pizza and their House salads are amazing! They give the kids pizza dough to play with and their staff is always friendly. Everytime I drive up (7 hours, from KC) we stop here and always will. Aggis for life!

My family has been coming here since I was a little kid. They would give us dough to play with when we were younger. I believe they still do this for the younger crowd when they come in. Their pizza is excellent and their chicken dinners are amazing! They just recently started taking credit cards which is a huge plus. They do not provide free drink refills, however they let you know this when you order and they do have pitchers available that are very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place!

We revisited this place last night after not having it for years. Definitely worth a stop if you're fan of thin-crust pizza. The tiger sauce at the table is a wonderful addition to the pizza flavor. This place is no-frills, so if you're looking for modern ambiance, go elsewhere. Kind of dark inside with old paneling and booths. However, in my experience, shiny and new does not equal excellent food in many cases. This place is old and outdated because they've been in business for several decades. People don't eat here solely for the decor. I am not giving 5 stars only because I think the menu is a little more limited than it should be, especially in the realm of appetizers. I believe there are only 5 or 6 pizza toppings available as well, and that seems a little slim. The mushrooms are canned, which in my opinion is a huge no-no.

Growing up in Peoria this pizza was a staple in our family. A very unique taste and the Tiger Sauce adds an interesting touch. Every time we visit Peoria this place is must-stop. The wait is horrible. Average time is over an hour to wait for your pizza. This has never been improved over the years, which is why I removed a star from the rating. The other removed star is due to the friendliness of the staff. The bar staff is especially rude, and acts as if you are wrong and they are always right. They also don't accept credit cards or debit cards which is cause for another star to be removed. But, it's a Peoria icon so I guess we just have to live with the negatives to experience an Aggie's special.

My buddy an I stopped in here several years ago. It was great thin crust pizza. Just a cool pub atmosphere too...former Mayor Jim Maloof stopped by our table on his way out with his carry out, I said "great food" he says in a loud voice, "whatcha do Bring Your Own" and Jim the owner says, "get the heck outta here" to the mayor. One of the best thin crusts I've had.

People that enjoy the food here have no discrimination at all. Somehow there are enough of them to have kept this crumhole in business for decades and make it 'the place' for pizza in Peoria. Well, go figure. Some people think Totino's and tombstone is awesome too. Why stop there folks? cardboard tastes about the same, and is a lot cheaper too... Bad food, bad service, bad place.

  • Misti A.

I had my first pizza from there today! the food is great! pizza better than Avanti's or Monical's! fried ravioli and sauce was awesome!! now the service was ok I guess. the employees were friendly but the person that looked like the manager was drinking at the bar, along with 2 other employees that were drunk. plus the 2 bartenders were eating at the bar. and that is the reason for the low score. the food scored a 5 star in my opinion. I was given my food and told to have a nice evening. I had not paid for it yet. I told them that it was not paid for and they looked shocked. I would go for the food. carry out only.

Being from Chicago, I could be considered somewhat of a "Pizza snob." With that said, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. First, the spaghetti my wife and kids ordered was less than appealing. Second, the pitcher of Tea on the menu said one free refill, and I was billed for two @ $3.95 each. Third, the service was subpar at best. Lastly, the pizza was a little bit better than a frozen pizza from the supermarket, but five times the price. I will never be back to eat here again, and I hope this review helps somebody decide to dine somewhere else instead.

Food was awful. I had the pasta and not the pizza, but how hard is it to make decent pasta? I'm a teacher, and I've had better pasta from schools. No kidding. Also, service was terrible. I absolutely hated it. I will never eat there again. You couldn't pay me to do so.

This place was wonderful for fitting in a party of 18 and we did give them quite a bit of notice. We were visiting my sister in Peoria and this is her go to pizza place. From what I understand the place has been around for about a thousand years and has had some history to it to include one of the longest operating liquor licenses in the state. The restaurant has been added onto and added on to and the building is is old as the liquor license. we were sat on the side of the restaurant that is newer than the original building. I believe if somebody that had some authority as far is code enforcement would have stopped in that restaurant that night, they probably would have closed the place down. I don't know much about the rules with fire exits and occupancy limits but it seemed like they were against Gillian people crammed in that place and one very small exit for that room and said something that happened there would have been a lot of trouble getting everyone out of there in a safe and orderly manner. But my gripes about the building aside, let's talk about the pizza. the pizza was great but a little pricey for my opinion. We had a pepperoni sausage onion and they cut it not in the traditional pizza way you would cut it ie triangles but they cut it in these little rectangular strips. It actually makes sharing the pizza that much more easier and for some reason it tasted better. My wife and sister got some sort of bacon Hawaiian pineapple thing that they inhaled and the kids had a straight up pepperoni pizza they also inhaled it. I did get a salad before hand and that's kind of where things came off the rails. The salad isn't technically a salad it's a bowl of iceberg lettuce and dressing. No tomatoes no croutons no cucumbers no vegetables no carrots nothing. Iceberg lettuce, dressing. It was fresh iceberg lettuce but it's not technically a salad if it's just lettuce. My only other complaint is parking. The parking lot is way under sized for the size of the building and they had painted the parking spaces to represent that. Meaning the parking spaces are way too narrow for a large SUV. And you'll have to park on the street if all the parking spots in the private lot are taken. Otherwise great pizza server was super nice and we got pitchers of peroni beer on those plastic Cambro pitchers. Love that! If you are ever in Peoria, I suggest stopping in and giving it a try. But be prepared for a wait, tight tables and parking.

I have been coming here since I can remember and it has been the same every single time. It was awesome that my daughter got to play w the pizza dough just like I did as a kid. The tiger sauce is amazing and seeing Tony great me with a smile ia always welcome. Coming from Chicago I am a pizza snob....but this place holds its own against the best. Grab some frozen if you can.....but nothing beats the glow of the motorized Hamm's sign over the bar. Get in here!

Best pizza place in town! This is always our first stop when we come to town, no matter what time it is and even if we aren't hungry! Large thin crust pizzas, recommend getting two large pizzas for a family of 5. It always tastes good left over!

  • Tawnie R.

I had recently been recommended to try this place, so I thought I'd give it a shot and hands down some of the best pizza in the area! The pizza is thinner crust and has a great garlicky/Parmesan crust to top it all off! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for some great, homemade pizza!!

    (5)
  • Bill S.

The pizza was OK. Nothing I would go back for though. It was rather odd when the server stressed that there are no free refills on fountain pop, and wanted to know if I would rather have a pitcher. Seriously? The cheapest commodity item in the entire restaurant, and all you get is a small, water-sized glass? To top that off, we had to wait a very long time for our pizza to come out so I just resorted to crunching the ice in the bottom of my glass. I can honestly say that overall, it was not horrible, but we're never going back. There are much better values out there.

With the amount of people pouring in when it opened we thought we had found a gem. We figured the food was going to be amazing. The 2 Italians I was with refused to finish their meals. HS cafeteria spaghetti-os would have had more flavor. Waste of money. Guess its the pizza that brings them in. Nice staff though....

If you like thin crust pizza, this is the spot for you. Otherwise head to Pizza Inn on Prospect if you like thicker crust - best pizza in Peoria over there. The pizza at Agatucci's was good even if I didn't like the crust type, but I thought it was overly hyped and overpriced. Still, a nice place to go if you have kids and enjoy a more rowdy dinner scene.

Really classic thin crust pizzas. I think maybe the best I've had in a long time, if ever. This place has been passed down from father to son for 4 generations. From what my, Aunt, Uncle and 95 year old Grandma tell me, the only thing that has changed about the place since the original Dad, is they got a parking lot in 1972. Now you can see the house my Aunt grew up in from the back door. The green salad, as any salad in Peoria is, is cut bite sized pieces of iceberg lettuce. I would take a star away for it, but no matter where you go in Peoria and get a green tossed salad, it is always a bowl of various sized cut up iceberg lettuce, so I can just accept that and be glad that at least 1 vegetable I eat there doesn't come from a can.

  • Bryan S.

I've got a love-hate relationship with Aggies. Kind of an "insiders" thing in Peoria -- I usually see someone I know there. Though the pizza is really thin and cut into tiny pieces and never fills me up, it does taste good. However, it's not what I think of as a classic pizza taste (i.e. not a lot of sauce or dough). The front room is typical tavern with a back room that is kind of like being in a church basement. For some reason the beer seems really cold there (maybe because it is cold) at any rate it makes it taste really good. They don't take credit cards (which would normally cause me to boycott any establishment) which is a pain in the ass as it usually takes a couple of their pizzas to fill me up.

An authentic neighborhood pizza spot. I guess it isn't for everyone, but I crave it. Get the Agatucci's special- sausage, onion, mushrooms, green pepper. The Tiger sauce is great on it- some type of oil. Don't go here unless you like thin crust- that is all they have. And don't expect over the top pizza combos- Aggi's is as basic as it gets, but that is what makes it so great!

    (5)
  • Ellie B.

Their Aggi's special is a treat! The family makes their own sausage. It is an amazing blend of spices. There's nothing like their family business these days where you can go in and not only be greeted by an owner--one makes sure your dinner was delicious. The food is legendary. You haven't played in peoria unless you've eaten at Aggi's!

  • Andrew H.

Tony & Dan are upholding an outstanding family tradition! This is the best single crust pizza in the nation. Tiger sauce is the most unique topping I've ever tasted, and it enhances the natural flavor of the pizza. The sausage sandwich is an appetizer that will blow your mind! This place has never spent a dime on advertising and yet it's packed every weekend - the power of the referral says it all! Salute!

  • Jack R.

Based on reviews and word of mouth recommendations I was expecting much more. Frankly the pizza was only average in my book. The crust was good, but I found the sauce bland and the toppings were of only average quality. The most interesting aspect of the ambiance was the clock that ran backwards. The waitress we had was extremely dull and a bit grumpy. The other waitresses appeared much better than ours.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country.
