Don't let the name fool you. This place has good authentic Mexican food. The service is great. Best authentic mexican I've found so far in the area. Much better than Primo's on Ridgeland.
My husband and I just moved into Palos Heights and discovered Lucky Burrito a few weeks ago. We, along with other members of our famiy, love the food! Everything tastes fresh and seems to be good quality! The beef and steak are very lean and the chicken is all white meat which is definitely rare for a small Mexican restaurant. The salsa and guac are also fantastic! Finally, the owner does all the cooking and he and the ladies that work there are super friendly and warm and the restaurant is very clean! We highly recommend this great restaurant!
This place is awesome! I have never eaten at the Oak Lawn location, but stop by here at least a few times a month as I live right down the street. We always order the hard shell tacos (they make their own shells to order), burritos, and guacamole. NOM NOM! Their green sauce is too good to stop, and we have tried their tamales and enchiladas too. The steak and chicken are always hot and quality. The service is super quick, friendly, and keeps me coming back. This is definitely worth a stop! Also, we just ordered over $100 worth for a work lunch today (hard to do, because it's pretty cheap!) - everything was hot and correct. All our service technicians asked where we got the food from. One of the owners even helped me put all the food in my car! They really know how to run a business!!!

I stopped in yesterday afternoon for a quick Dog. It was a true Chicago dog done correctly. It did come with Fries and they were done good also. Cute small place but quality food. Wish the pop was less than 1.00 for a can. I will be back. Ed
Having driven by Hound Dogs on a previous occasion and being disappointed to learn they were closed one Saturday afternoon I was finally in the area during their normal business hours and had the opportunity to stop by. Inside is a fairly small classic Chicago style eatery with a few tables set up on the inside and a figure of Dr. Jekyll standing towards the back. Since I had a friend of mine with me at the time we decided to split the two hot dog special which gives you two hot dogs, fries and a can of soda for 5.00. I placed the order sat down and within a few minutes the food was ready. The gentleman was nice enough to split the fries into two separate baskets for us as well. The hot dog here came on a classic poppy seed bun, the bun was soft and clearly steamed. There was a thin tomato slice on top of the hot dog, a small amount of celery salt could be seen as well. There were several hot sport peppers on the dog, neon green relish and well chopped onion. The mustard was well applied and there was a pickle spear that was suitably sliced on top. The sausage itself was skinless and was well steamed as well. The first bite was an immediate indicator that this was a very well made hot dog. No one flavor stood out with every condiment and addition complimenting the overall flavor. The fries included were thick crinkle cut fries, these were not particularly salty and were a little on the bland side. I'd say they were average fries but as it wasn't the main course this didn't detract from my overall experience. Overall I was very impressed with the hot dog from Hound Dogs and would recommend visiting if you happen to be in the area. I was served excellent food at a fair price and will give them a full five star rating.
Stopped by here recently and things have changed and not for the better. First of all they have done away for the $5 special of two dogs, fries, and a can of pop. The can of pop has not been removed from the special. But my two biggest concerns are 1) the hot dog buns were as hard a rock, it was not steamed at all. Biting into one of the dogs actually made the bun split down the bottom. 2) Two much cold trimmings, when picking up the dog you could feel how cold it was and sure enough it had cooled dowm the weiner quite a bit.

Mom ordered for a ramadan dinner (60 people). Amazing food! The meat was tender and juicy. Our guests were very satisfied. Basha is always a great choice.
Great food , Specially the Ramadan Buffet .. There are lots of people for iftar and you may find the atmosphere kind of weird if you are not an Arab .

Had Cashew Chicken and Sweet sour soup, both were excellent. This time we are having Sesame Chicken and Ginger Chicken. Again I had Sweet and Sour Soup, and it's ohhh so good. I think this will be my go-to restaurant for future Sweet and Sour Soup for the cold weather which I'm still getting used to after moving here from OC a month ago. Sesame Chicken was good with big chunks of dark meat. Fried batter is just right, light and crunchy. This dish is similar to Orange Chicken, which is a very bad idea for carry-out. NOT to eat this dish immediately after it comes out of wok, would be like chewing on mystery meat, and the sauce will be lumpy. Any flavor would have been soaked up by the starch-based sauce after being jam-packed into the take-out box. Conclusion, fried-dishes like Orange, Sesame, Sweet Sour chicken/pork, do not get it delivered or take-out. They taste much better fresh off the wok. On to the Ginger Chicken, which is full of flavor. Personally, I'd ask for easy sauce on this dish. The chef here is a bit heavy handed on the sauce, which is typical of southern Chinese style. Personal preference aside, Ginger Chicken is full of flavor with large slices of chicken. So today I stayed home and decided we want lunch special from Hunan. I got a new item, Beef Broccoli. I was pretty impressed by the beef slices, tender and flavorful. Most chinese restaurants' beef dishes require full set of healthy teeth and strong jaws. The beef I had today in the lunch special was tender, as good as the ones in San Francisco. Father in law had Egg Fuyong, I didn't ask him how it was, but that seems to be the it item for him when he goes to Hunan. But I won't trust him completely as his Chinese food repertoire begins and ends at Egg Fuyong and Mu Shu Chicken; he just won't try anything else. New favorite: Ham and pineapple fried rice.
I went here a lot with my family five years ago when I lived in the Chicago suburbs. We mostly came for the buffet. Though the items on the buffet were pretty standard (Orange/sesame chicken, fried rice with some meat supplement, chow mien, egg rolls, etc.), they were still well cooked. My parents and I enjoyed having some hot tea while grabbing some buffet items. The food isn't going to blow your mind, but you shouldn't miss out on the experience either. It's family run and the servers are very friendly.
Good stuff the second time we had it. Not sure why the first shot was not too good. But this time everything was delicious.

Just had lunch at Bon A Pit! We had beef brisket. It was great as usual. I had my daughter's bridal shower here last month and it was wonderful! They gave everyone two choices for entrees, I picked BBQ chicken and tilapia, along with soup, and salad. It was a great venue! All the guests said what a great time they had. The waiter even helped us carry everything to the car!
I love the chicken kabobs. Bbq brisket with Mac & cheese, vegetable of the day and corn bread is fantastic. Great service.
I've been here twice. I will say that the staff isn't that knowledgeable about gluten however I could pretty much navigate the menu myself. It was good however I still claim Smokey Mo's in Texas is better. We went the 2nd time for a coming home party for the bf. I surprised him with all of his friends there. They were great and very accommodating for a large group.

Mature atmosphere and family owned. The food can be a bit too salty for some, I would double check when ordering. The female owner is a doll and will ensure you're satisfied, so speak up! Politely of course. The wait staff can seem very direct, but some are just old school Italian it's nothing personal. Its not perfect however, I've never had a bad experience there. Give it a taste!
This has been my parents favorite restaurant for years and years. They have been going since the owners had the tiny restaurant near Oak Lawn. I can't remember the exact location now. Long story short I have been eating at Capri right along with them for all these years. The husband and wife that own it are very friendly and truly care about each customer. That goes a long way with me. I've only had one server that I don't care for. Every other server and bartender has always been great. Speaking of bartenders. The pours on the wine are unbelievable! I doubt you will need more than one glass. I still get excited every time they bring my wine to the table. The bread is always fresh and we always start with the calamari Capri. It's a little spicy, but I've seen people that can't handle any spice be fine with it. The calamari is always cooked perfectly. I almost always order the fettucini primavera. The vegetables are amazing on this dish! It's not overly heavy either. The gnocchi is another favorite at the table. I don't think anyone has ever had a bad dish. I will say if price is an issue for you watch out for the specials. They tend to run a little high. This place remains to be one of my favorite restaurants in the South suburbs. Parking can be a real pain. Reservations are a must or you will be looking at a long wait!
Dinner last night with my two girls was quite an enjoyable experience. I love the sauces at this restaurant as they are very traditional Italian recipes. I have not been here for a while and had forgotten how much I enjoyed this restaurant until talking with a friend who had just gone for dinner there. The portions of food were quite satisfying and the server was very attentive. Looking forward to our next visit.

Horrible is an understatement. I ordered a thin crust sausage and onion pizza. The pizza was like mush. Basically when I attempted to pick up a slice of the "pizza" it just fell apart. The onions were raw and not even cooked, and the so called "sausage" tasted like tofu. I also ordered garlic bread, which was also raw/barely toasted and had a fake butter/margarine taste. Do yourself a favor and get a frozen pizza from the store, trust me, it will be a heck of a lot better and you will have $24.00 extra dollars in your pocket!
Mid villa is one of the best pizza places around palos there are a lot to choose from but this is definitely the best we always eat there instead of take out it has a nice quaint atmosphere and Linda is great
Our family used to eat Mid Villa from Midlothian for years and always loved that pizza. That being said. I picked up a pizza from here on the way home from work and it was awful. How do you mess up a pizza? They did. It tasted like they poured salt all over the pizza. I asked for well done and it was not. The sausage was red and not fully cooked. I will not be back.
