Mario’s Pizza

911 Oak St
North Aurora, 60542
Reviews:
I was hunting for a really good thin crust pizza since I have been out here. I finally found it - Mario's. Has a great sauce and the perfect amount of cheese. Ventured with the meatball sandwich...pretty darn good as well. They are always really cool and friendly when I pick up as well. If I crave, I call them on my way home and usually end up with an empty pizza box in front of me before I know it.
Thin pizza is good. Appetizers and sandwiches are gross. Also they have great coupons. Like b1g1 pizza. They are quick and nice. I would of given five stars but we had a bad experience. I called to tell them that the appetizers were really bad and the guy who answered the phone said Mario was on vacation and would call when he got back. Well we never received a phone call. This was extremely disappointing since my husband and his family have been ordering from them for over twenty years. We still order from them but we only get pizza:
We've tried EVERY pizza joint in North Aurora and this is THE BEST! The pizza is perfect. Classic Chicago. The crust is tasty and just right - we love the thin crust. The toppings are always generous and fresh and the sauce is just delicious. EVERY SINGLE TIME IVE CALLED they are friendly, prompt, polite, and accurate. Delivery is always quick and their drivers are courteous. I have ordered from here dozens of times since we moved to the area two years ago and have never ever had a disappointing experience. Keep up the good work Mario's!

Tecalitlan

Reviews:
This place is great. Everything is good. It hidden strip mall... But worth finding it.
This place is a hidden gem tucked away in a very easy to miss strip mall off Butterfield in North Aurora. In fact the only reason I found it was because I was daydreaming and missed my turn on to Kirk. I'm very happy I did stumble across Tecalitlan though, they have very good Mexican food and the menu has a lot of interesting, authentic choices. I recommend one of the guisado's (spicy stewed beef or pork) or the house special birria (tender and flavorful goat). The tacos are great too, they're really generous with the meat and the sauces and tasty. The staff is very friendly too and it seems to be family owned and operated.
We got lost looking for a different Yelp recommendation, and pulled into this parking lot to turn around. "Screw it," we said, "let's just eat here." I'm glad we did. The staff was supremely friendly and welcoming, service was attentive but not overbearing, and (most importantly) the food was excellent. I had the combination with a taco, tostada, and chile relleno and the wife had steak tacos. It was thumbs up all around. The pico de gallo was a real treat, too. Next time, we are totally gonna eat at this place on purpose.

Oberweis

Reviews:
The staff here are SO nice! Super professional, helpful, friendly, etc., etc. Oh, and the sundaes are amazing! Although I completely disagree with Jim Oberweis' politics, he knows a thing or two about dairy products. I usually like to put my money where my mouth is, but it was my nephew's graduation, so I couldn't say "no."
Great milk and even better Ice cream . A little pricey but worth every penny. When I took my nephew who's allergic to nuts they opened a brand new batch of ice cream and opened up another mixer just for him and his shake. I thought that was awfully nice all you have to do is ask!!! Their shakes and malts are terrific . I'm never disappointed!
in terms of local ice cream shops using local ingredients Columbus, OH has Jenni's Seattle, WA has Molly Moons San Francisco has too many to name.... What does Chicago have? When I moved back to the Chi I was sad to admit I don't know the foodie places to go. I'd love to hear suggestions! Oberweis isn't a local ingredients company with unique flavors but they are a local company that does not use cows injected with hormones. The ice cream is rich, creamy and old fashion goodness. The service is fantastic. Many different people came by and asked us how we were doing, not in a menacing way but in a welcome to my home, I care about you kind of way. As we left we saw a handicapped man fall on the curb. We helped him up and helped him tie his shoe and the manager came rushing out right away to see what was going on. It's a good group of people there. No big surprises, no trendy flavors, just good old fashioned ice cream served by genuine people.

Harner’s Bakery Restaurant & Catering

10 W State St
North Aurora, 60542
Reviews:
Over the years I have been to Harner's dozens of times. Most of the time I am there for breakfast on weekends. If your timing is off on Saturday or Sunday expect to wait for a while for a seat. But the wait is just a testament to the excellent food to come. Their biscuits and gravy often graces my plate. It is very good. I also enjoy their omelets and make sure to order the wonderful raisin toast. The two slice order with breakfast is large enough to take a slice home for the next day. One of the best things about Harner's is the price. Everything is very reasonable. My wife and I usually get out of there for south of $20.00.
Harners has some of the best coffee cakes and donuts we have ever had! The pecan coffee cake is outstanding. In the fall, Harners has apple cider donuts & a wonderful selection of cookies, cakes and pies. Everything is delicious! The restaurant is clean and the service and food is consistently great.
Definitely a local gem. When visiting the in-laws in the daytime hours, Harner's is the place to go. Yes, the wait can be long, but really, they offer complimentary bakery cookies as you walk in, so grab one and shut up. Once you're seated, you'll find the decor to have been once in style, out of style, in style and out of style again. Slightly 1970's, but please enjoy the jackalope and stuffed ducks on the wall. Creepy charm. I am a huge fan of their buckwheat pancakes, both for their flavor and function, if you catch my drift. Wonderful. And I tasted my husband's raisin toast with jam and it was like dessert. Just plant yourself down and wait for the good stuff. Harner's is worth a visit when in these neck of the woods.

Reviews:
Sweet Pizza, great beer, good people. The owners are nice as hell. I'll be back every time I'm back in Chicago. Highly recommend the "Godfather slice"
Family Italian - When you order the pizza they make it from scratch so it takes a little longer, but worth the wait! GREAT beer selection. Appetizers rule, try the artichoke flatbread, amazing. Bring the kids or make it a date night. If your lucky enough to be there on a night when Mike is IN THE HOUSE strike up a conversation. It is genuine Italian from start to finsh. ENJOY
Went in there last night picked up a pizza to go. These guys know what their doing. The dining room was full and the staff was very pleasant. Hopefully we can attract more quality businesses like Raimondos and fill some of these vacant strip malls in North Aurora.

Turf Room

Reviews:
I have been a regular (and have brought several clients) here for a couple of years for dinner, brunch and appetizers/drinks. The service here has been consistenly terrible.. Last night was it for me. I went in there with my BFF for appetizers before going to a comedy club. The waiter was not only rude, but advised that there was a $4 up charge for carrots with our hummus. And, they would not give us the pita with it. So, essentially they want to charge us double for carrots and not give me the pita too? I'm not sure about you, but last I checked, I could buy a large bag of carrots for a buck. My friend got a little snippy with him as we have been coming here consistently for a while and this has never been the case. He was snippy back (customer is always right, no?) 3 weeks ago I was here and had a filet with burnt sauce on it that tasted like garbage. So, bye bye Turf Room. It was fun while it lasted. We won't be back.
New favorite place. I can't believe I have never experienced this place. Drinks, ALL fresh, martini served table side shaken. Bread, hot, butter had sweet and salty taste. Chicken roasted wad just good.. not fab. However, I had the Bubba chop, and I CANNOT say enough. It was amazing. We can't wait to come back.
Come here for the happy hour! Craft beers along with their discounted appetizers. Stable standard flat bread pizza and tres hummus are my favorite.

Denny’s

412 S Lincolnway
North Aurora, 60542
Reviews:
Denny's is my absolute favorite and the North Aurora location is the best by far. I've been going here for years and years, and even though I live in Naperville and the Denny's over by Fox Valley is closer, I still make the commute out here. It's always clean and the service is outstanding. The employees that work here are the nicest people I've ever met and provide better service than most higher end restaurants I've been to. The food is great and always fresh. I've never had an issue. I always get the sampler platter with buffalo chicken strips, quesadillas, and mozzarella sticks. So unhealthy and fattening, but so delicious. I especially love it because the other day my husband and I went here at 8AM and they still let me order the sampler platter! Where else am I gonna get buffalo chicken strips at 8 in the morning!? So awesome. The prices are great and they are open 24 hours, 7 days a week. What more can you ask for?
Good news, it's a Denny's! In other news.... it's a Denny's. Friendly, clean, and not too likely for a stabbin'. They've kept the mozzarella stick grilled cheese sandwich on the secret menu - so come for that and stay for the pancakes. If you are in the mood for some Denny's, you haven't picked a bad location.
The waitress was very unresponsive. She forget meals for my friends who accompanied me to the restaurant to celebrate the leaving of one my friends enlisting in the navy. We had to ask another waitress I believe her name was Kara for stuff that she forgot. Also it seemed like the manager was on the phone up front and my friends and I were having a conversation and she yelled at us very disrespectfully. The food was good but these workers are terrible! I would not recommend going.

Sarpinos Pizza

Reviews:
After receiving a menu in the mail, I ordered last week. The pizza's were exceptional! They arrived hot, on time, and were fantastic. The sauce is great and the crust is perfect - not too thick or thin. Highly recommend the pizza that has feta added to the toppings!
The hubby and I ordered pizza tonight for delivery. We ordered a large sausage and garlic pizza. Wait time for delivery: 1.5 hours. Ok, not crazy for a Friday night, but also not optimal. An hour later, a pizza arrived. But, not our pizza. Not sausage and garlic, but a pepperoni/sausage/green pepper/mushroom/spinach pizza. We called and after about 10 minutes of holding, they told us they would send it out right away. Less than 1 hour later from then, we got the pizza we ordered. The pizza is decent, but far from amazing. The crust is doughy, but not crispy. It's not soft, but chewy. Not really the greatest crust. The sauce is lightly sweet though, which I did enjoy. The sausage is not formed sausages, but slices of sausage ("italian", I suppose). The pizza itself somehow was just $10 because of some sort of deal they were having. Best part, delivery is free. We haven't had delivery from Sarpino's ever, but I'd be more inclined to order from another pizza place next time.
A mixed bag. Sometimes the best pizza around. Other times it takes 3 hours for delivery and the cheese is not melty hot and is luke warm at best. Today's pizza the box was dripping with grease, literally my hands and table surfaces smeared in grease. Pizza dripping with grease, on the flip side the pizza was super hot had tons of cheese and was loaded with toppings. We regularly do a pizza night, lack of consistency, we will be looking for for pizza elsewhere.
