Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. The chicken fajita dinner, steak burrito dinner, and chips with guacamole would have to be my favorite. The horchata will not disappoint. Great service hours :)

The food is good but not authentic Mexican food. Quick place to get fast food. Cheap prices. For $15 you can get a fulling meal.

Quick and easy late night food. As simple as that. Ended up going here around 1 am after a night of drinking. Not just for me, but I got the steak taco, a rellano tostada, and chips and guacamole. The steak taco was bomb. Loved it during the night, and even again in the morning for breakfast. The tostada was meh. Other people liked it, I wasn't too fond of it. The guac was really good but they don't give you enough chips. I'm sure I'll be back some night

This place is a disappointment. I appreciate the hours they are open, but, when actually trying the food, I have experienced better tasting late-night Mexican food than here. It's not horrible by any means, especially the limited amount of places to get late-night Mexican food. Wayyyyyyy better than Taco Burrito King for sure. The burrito can get a bit soggy and lack flavor. I suggest getting the tacos at this place. The nachos are below average. It tastes cold and stale. The service is the best part. Always friendly and quick. I'm not looking for a four-star Mexican restaurant. Usually the more divey places service the best food, but can there please be a decent late-night Mexican food place around this area? We are in desperate need of it!

It's a pretty descent Mexican restaurant however the fact that you have to buy chips and salsa when you dine in is a bit on the frugal side. I mean most Mexican joints offer them free and I appreciate that as it keeps me busy when I wait for my food. The portion size is small as my king burrito was smaller then regular burritos at other places and 67 cents for a refill after you charge me $2 for a coke is a bit much. They have a variety of tacos from steak to beef and even tongue for the more adventurous person. Lots of combo choices. During the day it's dead and at night there's a three hour wait possibly because the drunks in front of you take so long to think of what they want to eat which in some cases is half the menu. Over all I rate this place as average throw in some chips and stop over charging me for pop and make your burritos bigger and I will rate this place higher. PS I'm taking my chips home with me.

Alright alright people need to relax with the whole "omg it's not real mexican food"well freakin no kidding! It's on the upper echelon of taco food chains take that to let's say Taco Burrito King. But still, It's just okay. If you're looking for a decently cheap late night drunk meal or a good hungover lunch I would recommend it. Steak tacos meal is my recommendation I know I know SUPER "mexican" right?! The meat isn't per say top notch but it's not as low grade. like I said if you're starved and in the mood for some quick tacos I would come here but will it give you some serious shits? Yes. Is it worth it? Depending how hammered you were at the time. Maybe.

Love this place for a late night "snack". I only get the jr. steak burritos here with everything on it! Tons of flavor but once in a while you get that great little piece of grizzle (chew fat) that kind of is gross but really tasty...love it! My husband usually gets steak or chicken tostadas.

This place hit the spot for a quick no-frills Mexican lunch. We enjoyed a marinated pork taco and a king size steak burrito. They have a clean, spacious dining space and a friendly counter guy on this day.

I'm not a big fan of mexican food but I like to eat some good tacos every now and then. I think this place has very good tacos. I was watching them preparing it and I can tell the steak was fresh. This place stays late at night on weekends and is always busy which helps their inventory turn over very quickly and subsequently keep it fresh. Definitely a sold three star restaurant but added one more star for the friendly amigos that works hard over there.

I am basing this off the fact the hours here are amazing for a night owl like me who wants SOMETHING other than McDeaths or whatever on a Friday latenight. Anyway, it is pretty simple; I went on a friday night and it was busy but not crazy. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and was glad to see the prices were somewhat reasonable for the area (just moved here and it seems like everything just got really expensive lately)....7 bucks on the nose with ridiculously high taxes. Got my burrito in about 6 mins, and walked out to my car (good parking all hours/safe even for girls late imho) and ofc couldn't wait to dig in. It was juicy... It was big... It was crispy in a good way for a burrito... And it had a decent amount of beef... Sounds great, right? Unfortunately what it didn't have was taste. Not bland....not one dimensional...not a little flat. It had NO TASTE AT ALL. Maybe you'll be drunk when you go and it won't matter- I was young once too. Maybe you just don't really care- I can't identify with you being a fat bastard who likes food... But the place does everything you want from an all nights (or close enough) burrito place except give you flavor. Is that a fatal flaw at 3.25 AM on a Sunday morning/Sat. night, probably not. Is it a reason to avoid this place when other options are available, for me, yes. Happy eating, kids.

It's meh. My chimichanga didn't have the guac and sour cream it was supposed to. It was a to go order so I'm super disappointed.

Fresh frijoles, guacamole , the tacos are loaded, omg the nachos are loaded with your choice of meat & topping. Tilapia tacos are topped with pico de gallo. The orchata drink is delicious . All I. Can say that this taqueria serves authentic Mexican food in a simple strip mall and the food to awesome. I always ask it a side if pickled carrots & jalapeños. This place is always busy. Worth the trip

The guys behind the counter do not play. Like a well-oiled machina these hombres know how to operate a kitchen. The burritos... toasty, thick, and long are packed with perfectly seasoned and expertly prepared meats and fixins. Quick and consistent. Polite and friendly. Chit chatting en espanol with musica Mexicana piping through the overhead this place is the best-in-class of any burrito joint in town... Plus they're open til the wee horas de la mañana. But make sure, if you ask for any extra heat, to have them put it it on the side... SERIOUSLY. I like hot hot but some of their picante will fijck you up royally if you aren't tenning mui cuidado. ' Sabes? Remember to call ahead if you leave the bar with the rest of the sheeple cuz they'll all be in line ahead of tu. Ask for the cash descuenta... Save some verde-backs, yo!

Very few places that are open as late as this taste as good! We stopped by on our way back from o'hare late at night, and it hit the spot! The prices are cheap, and you get an additional discount for paying with cash. The burritos are big and stuffed with meat. I got the pastor (marinated meat) and it was tender and juicy (4.75). I also got a large horchata (1.65) which is self serve, and refills cost 60 cents. It had just the right amount of cinnamon and was very refreshing. The food was great, but don't expect the restaurant to be very clean. The tables and chairs weren't really wiped down, but we were there for such a short period of time (the food came out quickly and we scarfed it down) that it didn't really bother me.

The best late night fat meal. :-) open late, quick service and delicious food. Try the steak burrito! Chicken is a little bland. Anything with their steak is BOMB!

Ate here en route to Vancouver from Rochester, NY. Totally delicious for a $6 burrito. I myself indulged in the chicken fajita burrito. The peppers and onions were cooked just nice. My squad got involved in some steak carnitas (I think) and some pork as well. Everyone was pleased. We also shared some cheese fries which were impressively basic, which is fine because it's exactly what I was expecting and wanting at the time. Sleeze cheese wiz type situation with basic French fries. Golden. I am writing this roughly 15 minutes after completion of my meal. Highly likely I will be wishing these meals came with extra toilet paper on the side in about anotherrrrrr, eh, 9 or 10 minutes or so... No complaints so far. 5/5 Would burrito again.

This place is so much better than taco burrito King. Even though taco burrito King is closer to my house, I'd rather take the extra 5-10 minutes to drive over here. The chicken burritos are tasty and come at good prices. I always leave this restaurant full after 1 burrito. The parking lot however is kind of small, but it's one of those places you should order take out instead of sitting down to dine.

First time I went there was about a month ago, and let me say I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy my torta (chicken) turned out to be! Texture: Although I am not a huge carnivore, I really enjoyed the tenderness of the chicken mixed with the crunch of the vegetables. The best part for me was the torts bun that they used - they toasted the outside so it had a nice crispy outside layer upon biting and then the soft inside (I'm a huge carb-lover). Taste: The flavors were not a huge kick in the face (I just ordered as is), but the sauce that they put on it was fabulous with chicken. I believe it was supposed to be a hot sauce, but had no spiciness factor for me whatsoever. Next time, I will make sure to ask for a little extra hot sauce. (With an order you get one extra thing of hot sauce - says a sign at the counter). I've never been a huge Burrito fan, but I am willing to give it a try the next time I go since quite a few reviews said hat the burritos were good. Few notes: - Parking lot is small and it's located on a funky corner, but there are usually spots during the day on the weekends. - Make sure you say torta clearly or else they might think you said taco...

I love the burrito house. Burritos are awesome and the horchata is amazing. They are real quick too. tooHave a seat and enjoy it. Way better than TBK on touhy and el famous. Once you go burrito house. You wont go back.

We like it. It's cheap and it's pretty good. No more chipotle for me for sure. We always get the pico chicken or beef over rice. However drink refill is at $.75 which is steep. So can't do much ice in your drink then.

I TRIED - Chorizo Quesadilla (9/10) - Chile Relleno (7/10) - Al Pastor Taco (4/10) - Horchata (9/10) I discovered authentic Mexican food somewhere around my freshman year in high school at a place called Taco Burrito King (or TBK). While my first ever quesadilla was at a Taco Bell in San Jose, CA, getting a steak quesadilla at TBK changed my life forever! Since then, I ventured out and tried new things and new places, but in Chicago, we were always on the lookout for TBK. Sadly, up in the North burbs where I spend a lot of my time these days, there wasn't a TBK to be found without driving. A friend randomly found this place, and told us it was really close to TBK, and boy was he right! Unfortunately, it's been a while since I had a burrito here, and that was sort of our deciding factor of calling this a "TBK Satellite," so I can't review it today, but I'll have it soon enough and update. CHORIZO QUESADILLA I was always a bit reserved about getting chorizo on anything, because when I didn't realize what it was, I got a chorizo burrito at some Mexican place and it was so salty, I just didn't want it ever. Then a friend got this at a bar and it was so good! So now, I try to get it at every Mexican place. Their quesadillas are small, at least relatively. TBK's quesadillas are huge, and that's where I got my education from. These guys' quesadilla tortillas are about the average size you can buy at the grocery store. In other words, about the size of a saucer. The chorizo was cooked perfectly! It still had that little bit of grease and their seasoning was definitely infused with the sausage. Some pieces of it were crispy, and made a world of difference to the texture, plus added a small smoky bonus. The tortilla did a good job of normalizing the super sharp flavors and seasoning, which was great. It was a really good balance, and more chorizo flavor that I've had in a quesadilla. The only small problem was that it didn't have enough cheese, which I think could have made this thing perfect, but even though, it was spectacular! CHILE RELLENO While glancing at the menu, I didn't see this anywhere, except as a taco, and as part of a dinner combo (the quesadilla + chile relleno combo that I got). In any case, in this form, it's a good size poblano. It was meaty and soft, so you could easily fork it. Inside was filled with cheese, and it was actually covered in some orange sauce. I wasn't able to pick out what that sauce was, but whatever it was, thee flavors were very very light. At Los Fernandez, they don't cover it in sauce, so the fried batter sort of adds an extra buttery element which I really liked. 7/10 is nothing to scoff at; it is a very good chile relleno. AL PASTOR TACO Los Fernandez has the best Al Pastor taco. Since I discovered it, I've been on the lookout for a challenger, and no one has come close. Not even King Taco in LA! I ordered it on top of my meal. I of course got onion + cilantro, and honestly, whatever onion they used was actually spicy! To say it "overpowered" would be an understatement. It manhandled that taco completely! Even after brushing a little of the onion off, I really couldn't taste the pork. No flavor, no seasoning, it wasn't sucking the flavor out of the taco, but it just wasn't adding anything...just a protein texture. It wasn't cooked like the chorizo on the quesadilla either, so no smoky bonus. Maybe one day I'll try their tacos again, but I hope this was a fluke, because that onion ruined the whole taco! I couldn't even taste the cilantro! HORCHATA It has the cinnamon, it has the sweetness, and it has the great rice flavor too. It is almost on par with TBK's, believe it or not. But if I was clutching on to both of these horchatas over a cliff and had to decide which one I'd save...I'd pick TBK. HOME AWAY FROM HOME This place is legit! All their food is cooked superbly and is delicious! And yes, lots of Mexican people go here, so you know it's authentic too. While TBK still has my heart in Chicago, Burrito House has my stamp of approval to be TBK's satellite in the North burbs. Stay classy Glenview...er...Niles!

If there was a 2 1/2 rating I would give it to this place for its well kept and clean place and the get your mexican fix on til way after midnight. For what looks like a small place they do have very nice seating and tables inside. Been coming here for a long time and liked the food. Was not the best but was still good. But times have changed and their taste and quality of food has just gone downhill to the point where last time I ordered I just tossed half the food away. Then I stopped getting the steak because they are using a lower quality cut of meat. The steak comes out gray and never gets that juicy beef and blackend beef flavor like other places. Just dry and bland. Even the jimica drink which used to be great seems to taste odd now. And the tomotoes and lettuce is mostly nasty when I get them. Guac here also used to be the bomb and now that is mediocre too. So sad, gotta find another place near by that is open late. I do like Los Comales steak tacos just down the road much better, but they are missing a bunch of common plates and some stuff very pricey. Oh how I miss the Tacos El Norte that was down the road years ago that had the best carne asada.

The menu is large yet when it comes to the food it could have been much better. The different vegetables and seasonings tasted like they were put in to get done with and the food tasted horrible. If there was 1/2 a star that's what I would give. The burrito tasted like a lump of veggies on a stale tortilla.

I LOVE the Burrito House. It is our guilty pleasure for terrific Mexican food. We always call ahead and carry out. I am a gringo, but I see many Hispanic customers eating there and that to me is a great endorsement. The portions are generous and the food is so delicious. We used to shop around to go to different places for Mexican food, but not anymore. No one else in the area does it better and we just don't want to go anywhere else. I would eat there everyday if I could. We don't because that would not be wise (I would not fit through the door). So IF we want to indulge, we want to have something we know will be good and we go to the Burrito House. I love watching the people cooking the food right in front of me. They work so hard and I am very grateful to them for being there. Thank you. I remember one Sunday afternoon, we were getting our favorite Burrito dinner to carry out while we watched the Bears game. One of the cooks/chefs working the grill had this huge container of beef he put on the grill to begin cooking. I could not resist saying to the customer next to me in line, "Taco Bell my A** !". Skip that little tablespoon of freeze-dried beef crumbles at the mega chain drive-through. Support this little gem in Niles if you want delicious Mexican food. The refried beans are authentic too. Oh dear, now I made myself hungry for guacamole!

Used to eat here all the time when i was younger. Their tacos and burittos are very good and they put in a lot of meat which for me is great. Pricing is decent for the servings they give you. Haven't been here in like 3 years so not sure if it changes any since the last time i was there. Id give it a go if you are looking for some quick lunch.

The burritos are not only delicious , but there also ginormous! The burrito dinner plate is awesome, and so are the chimi-changas. It's open real late and fairly packed. I dislike the florescent lighting...other than that, the resturant is really authentic

If I could give Burrito House 10 stars for it's steak chimichanga, I would!!!! That bundle of unbridled goodness was soooo delicious that I went looking for one at my local taco spot the next day! Unfortunately the spot next to my house did this one no justice. Another unfortunate reality is that live nowhere near Burrito House. Wtf to do?! Visit my friends more often, that's what!! I gotta have me another one, and pron-to...

Best of the "fast" Mexican food in these parts. Not so appealing to eat there when it often smells like bleach or disinfectant but carry out is just fine. Their burritos are bigger and more stuffed than Comales right around the corner. They make the food so quickly and give you tons of hot sauce if you ask. Reasonable prices. Try the Agua de Jamaica (the purple hibiscus drink next to the horchata). You won't regret it!

Ordered fries and veggie delux burrito. Both the things didn't seem to be cooked well. Burrito was specially a disaster. I have been looking for a late night joint which i can make my ATF. Definitely the hours of operation tempted me but I probably wont visit again due to quality of preparation.

My family loves this place. It looks like any other Mexican fast-food restaurant tucked away in a little strip mall in Niles, but the food quality far exceeds your expectations. The restaurant clearly caters to a Mexican population as they have stuff like "lengua" tacos on their menu. By the way, I highly recommend anything "lengua" related. It's a tender meat that almost tastes like a very tender roast beef. It's become a favorite for both myself and my kids. I recommend experimenting with new things here when you order. You won't be sorry. My kids and I have tried almost everything on the menu and we've never been dissatisfied. The food is inexpensive and better than most Mexican food you'd eat at fancier restaurants. The service has always been great as well - pleasant, friendly, and prompt.

Not only is the Mexican food here great but even the burgers here are delicious!! The chicken fajita burrito is the best thing...down to the last bite! If it's is late night I love to go with the tacos or quesadillas! And of course you have to use each bite with the green sauce... Just so good!!

Authentic. Not the place for the family, but perfect for late night take out or eat in. Restaurant is clean. The kitchen is in full view of the counter, so you can watch the preparation. I ordered a "king" burrito. Steak. Took it home and loved it.

Only tried this out because my boy serially hearts mex food and the yelp reviews killed it. C'mon, guys. Who is loving this place 4stars+ ??? It's ok, at best and I'm no super diva, but even my "I (heart) Mexican food 24/7" kind of guy was disappointed. :( The horchata is super sweet, and not like righteous, but like your dentist is calling you after a sip or two to fill in newly appeared cavities. Tacos, nachos and burrito. All was drenched in sour cream and/or sauce. Sloppy and not worth the fork. Sorry, wanted to love but having to pass on this guy for now. I May give it another shot. I'll probably eventually need a booze soaker-upper. ;-) Lo siento, fans.

The food here is great! Awesome burritos and nachos! I also love the rice. The food is always fresh and hot!

This place is quite wonderful, the food is very delicious. Firstly, I recommend getting the taco dinner plate: it comes with three tacos, red rice, and fried beans. The portions on this plate are great and will definitely fill you up. I've seen other friends try a combination of other plates and they were all satisfied.

Talk about a hidden gem. This place has the wonderful cantina feel with quick service and amazing food with plenty of it. I ordered the junior burrito thinking I would get a small burrito and also ordered some guacamole because I thought the burrito wasn't going to be enough. Boy was I wrong! The burrito was a meal in itself, and there was enough guacamole for three people. Portions aside the food is absolutely wonderful and definitely worth it if you're shopping in Golf Mill Center or anywhere near Niles. I hear they have a location in Chicago, but I am unaware of the whereabouts. This is on of my spots I frequent for my lunch break.

Whenever I'm craving quick Mexican food, I always seem to forget about this place and first jump to the TBK's of the world. Then I start thinking and Burrito House jumps into my mind. This place has never disappointed me and will continue to go. Also great that they seem to always be open. lol

Best Mexican food if you're in the area. This is my place to go when ordering out for Mexican food. It gets busy but still fast service.

This was my 1st time at Burrito House and maybe my last. I decided to try them based on the Yelp reviews, but highly disagree with most of the reviews. I found the service to be extremely slow and the line I was stuck waiting in was an indication of that. There weren't that many people either. I recommend phoning your order to speed things up. I ordered the 3 taco plate dinner which comes with yellow rice and refried beans. I had 1 steak, 1 pastor & 1 chile relleno. I thought the rice tasted slightly stale and bland. The refried beans were good. All the tacos were not very tasteful and not very authentic tasting. If you like Taco Burrito King then you will probably like this place. Being Latino and eating Mexican food my entire life, in the states and in Mexico, I think I know what good, great and bad Mexican food is. I think this place is slightly average. The place was very clean looking so that was a plus. I will give this place one more try incase it was just a bad day, even the best restaurants have them. As of today though, I give Burrito House 4 sombreros out of 10.

It's hard to believe that some of the best Mexican food I have had in Chicago is in Niles. Thanks to one of my friend for bringing me here. Plus, the food is cheap another thing I've come to expect from Mexican food places. I got the two burrito dinner with rice and beans. It was so good and reminded me of the great Mexican food I used to eat on a daily basis in Detroit. The green sauce was also great. It is something I use to judge all Mexican places. If you come here looking for Chipotle or Taco Bell you'll be disappointed because Burrito House is more of an authentic experience. I'm glad they have another location in Chicago so I don't have to travel to Niles everytime I want good and cheap Mexican.

Lived here for over 8 years, always passed by this place. Stopped in and honestly expected to have a sub par meal, but I was pleasantly shocked. It was great! Everything was very flavorful and prepared perfectly! Also it's very affordable, I will definitely be back and loving the hours as I tend to be up really late and everything is usually closed. Feel dumb for being apprehensive to try it before.

Fast service but nasty food. No flavor. Will never come here for any steak tacos again. The fries were salty and hard. The rice was nasty beans ok. Overpriced for nasty food.

Best place for late night Mexican food!! Yum! It's right next to Chasers so when the bar closes you can walk over to the Burrito House to satisfy your late night hunger. It's open until 5am on Fridays and Saturdays.

  • Clement C.

When you are loaded and hungry, this place kicks ass. They give you a plate full for under $10 and it's packed. Quality - nah, who need quality! It's all about the best money for your buck! Quantity baby. Did I mention they never close.. open til 5am!! You can blame the runs on all the drinking in the morning!

The fish tacos here are my go-to late night binge. They are well executed (not too dry, great spice, fresh toppings), reasonably priced, and always delicious! Giving them 4 stars for (pretty) fast comfort food open late.

All I had was their fajita burritos, but is was excellent. I think I found my new north suburban burrito place.

Love burrito house! I love the cheese they use. I always get the steak taco dinner and nachos platter. I customize my nachos and ask for only white cheese instead of nacho cheese :) The workers are super nice, and the owner is funny (at least I think he's the owner) anyway...best food in niles :)

This is one of my go-to late night Mexican spots. Service is fast, food is delicious, it's clean inside, and it doesn't hurt the wallet so bad. They have gut-buster sized Horchatas, and I love it. It's great to wash down Lengua tacos.

Love this place so much I go there once a week! If I don't get a chance to go, I start going through Burrito House withdrawal..seriously. I used to get a 2 chicken taco dinner on flour tortillas, but now I've been switching it up with the torta if I'm eating there. It's like an open-faced taco with refried beans and a crunchy corn shell. Delicious. Other items I've had or seen friends enjoy: chicken chimichanga, fajitas, steak burrito/taco and ground beef tacos. There rice is always perfectly seasoned and a nice side with the cheese-covered refried beans.Their nachos are out of this world and large enough to split with someone unless you have a hearty appetite. Bueno!!!

You know the food you ate was good when the next day you're still thinking... "the food last night was awesome, I want more!". I'm not typically a fan of Mexican food and can be very picky (Chipotle is my usual 'go to restaurant' if I ever want Mexican food). So I was pleasantly surprised with how satisfied and happy I was with the food here. I got the streak burrito (no beans) and vegetarian nachos. My sister also got a taco. Burrito was delicious and had all the right ingredients to make my taste buds happy. Nachos had an abundance of various toppings enough for all of the chips (I hate when places don't give you enough toppings for your chips). They also had a great deal for tacos ( A dollar something for just cilantro and onions on your taco). In addition to great food, the service was also great. The cashier was very polite and nice when he greeted us. Even the gentleman who gave us our food order when we left was also very friendly. Above all else, this place is open super late. It's perfect for a late dinner or late night snack.

I love Burrito House! They have some of the best tacos I have ever had. I am a huge fan of their chicken tacos, but the chiles rellenos taco is fabulous, too. They grill the shells, which makes them extra tasty. Oh, and I highly recommend the horchata. Mmmmm. The restaurant is always clean and the service is friendly. And, they are open really late. Parking is never a problem because they have a fairly lage parking lot. When we first went here, we were a little confused as to what to do with our dirty dishes when we were done eating. Do we clear our own table and put the dishes in the empty bin near the kitchen? This is indeed what you do. We will definitely continue to come here often. It's delicious!

IT IS OPEN! AND BIGGER THAN EVER! Great Quick Mexican food, I recommend a "California" burrito, similar ingredients as the Chiplote, but real Mexican.

Been living in Morton Grove for 2 and half years now and this is the only Mexican place I go to. Tried other places but this is the place to go. Great tasting tacos and burritos! Avoid the big Mexican buffet place on Dempster.

This place is the friggin BOMB! This is my go-to place for all my late night taco craving runs. My usual is the 2 taco dinner with one fish and one chicken taco, extra sour cream on the side= taco heaven! These people know their tacos/burritos so go get your taco on!!!!

  • Richard O.

I was not impressed at all. From the strange crowd that resinates here and the bizarre employees it was a turn off from the start. The eating area inside is tight and sticky. I ordered two tacos one with chorizo and the other with steak. The kitchen is sloppy and right behind the cash register. The food came quick but taco shells were soggy. The juice tripped right through the bag and created a hole with the poor wrapping of the foil. I was hoping the taco would be good after all this trouble. Unfortunately for me it was not the taste was bland and chalky. It was about $5 for two subpar small tacos. I was expecting better even for a late night place they are below average. Not so good

  • Jason P.

This place really looks like a hole in the wall, but it definitely delivers mexican food that is delicious and sits well. A lot of these late night places try and get too creative with their vegetarian dishes. Burrito house keeps it simple and my taste buds and stomach are both thankful for this. My wallet also enjoys their prices.

Great take out! There's usually two guys in there taking the orders and making the food, sometimes three... when you call in, they never take your name, but you always get what you ordered when you walk in. I am in love with their burritos, they are SO good, and I'm not normally a burrito eater! My 5 year old thinks they have the best rice in the world! The menu is limited, but for those who grew up Chicago, this is so much like the little Mexican Take-Out places you probably grew up going to or stopped at after you left the bars. The only thing I can really say bad about the Burrito House is that their beans are a little watery, otherwise, I think that their food is definately some of the better Mexican take-out in the area.

If I had been using Yelp a year ago I would have given Burrito House 5 stars, no questions asked. I literally stopped by this place at least 4-5 times a week for lunch or dinner. Its a different story ever since they reopened. The quality of the food has become worse and worse. I used to get chicken quesadillas, steak tacos and guacamole and chips. Then I stopped getting the steak because they seemed to have substituted in cheaper meat while charging more and it did not taste very good. Then I started getting quesadillas without the chicken because every time I had the chicken it was disgusting, even more so than the steak. Now I have stopped getting the guacamole and chips. It used to be out of this world and one of my favorites from a restaurant. The tomatoes in it are nasty, the guacamole has no flavor at all and it is always a brownish color probably due the poor quality of the avocados and such. The consistency is also liquid-y which is not what guacamole should be. The chips are always stale. I can't even eat Burrito House as a late night after drinking meal anymore ... the only thing still good about this place is the hot sauce. I'll give them that...

  • Dane S.

I was craving some Mexican food and we passed by Burrito House so I decided to give it a try. Now when I think of Mexican food I like it authentic, very. Like only onions and cilantro with beats and plenty of lemons with "salsa verde". I got a King Size Steak Burrito with only onions and cilantro in it. The burritos and tacos come American style with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, etc. First of all it took like 20 min or so to make my order. The meat was a little bit over cooked and had no flavor at all. I figured drenching the burrito with the green salsa would give it some spice and flavor....wrong. If your looking for authentic Mexican food I'd suggest going elsewhere.

How can I put this, I literally shed a tear when I heard they burnt down, and was there the first day the re-opened. The remodel is great, you can actually eat in there and there is tons of space. Wonderful anytime of day, great late-night snack and some of the best burritos, tacos and enchiladas this side of the southwest. As an Arizona Native this place was a close to the hole in the wall mexican restaurants I have been able to find out here. The steak burritos, carne asada, are wonderful. The tacos amazing! And try mixing the green and red chile sauce on your burrito or taco, I promise you won't regret it!

  • Matt S.

Excellent mexican take-out! Prices are very reasonable and the food is the best in the area. I had the fajita burrito and it was so tasty! I'll be going back to try this place for late-night cravings as well, since most of the reviews say that's where they excell.

There are very few Mexican food joints in the suburbs and as a frequent visitor of the burbs, this makes me sad. Fortunately, there's Burrito House. I will not go as far as to say that this is my fave (or even close to my fave) Mexican joint. However, I was impressed with the quality of my steak taco. The veggies were fresh, the corn tortilla was soft and fresh, and the steak was well seasoned and tender. What's really impressive is that the taco is so neat and clean - weird...but not in a bad way. The nachos are just ok - it seems like they poured a soupy Mexican concoction on top of the chips - maybe it's b/c of the type of melted cheese they use? It grossed me out a bit but my friends love it.

Burrito house, ironically, makes some damn tasty burritos. Good at night and also good during the day. They have re-opened, as they were closed a while ago, and are now bigger and better than ever. I think they bought the place next door and became twice as big. Or maybe not, I don't know. I wasn't expecting this to be all that, frankly, and the burritos were pleasantly surprising. My burrito joint is generally Taco Burrito King, but this place is pretty close. They do take forever when you go there and order, and why that is I have no clue, but sometimes when you're already in there smelling all the food, you just suck it up and wait.

  • Jinhee S.

im so glad this place is finally open again! =)))) their chicken tacos arent as good as the steak and fish tacos, since thats all i ever get at burrito house. after construction, this place is twice as big (yes!) but their parking lot still sucks with crazy pot holes, but the last time i was there a few days ago, i believe they were re-doing the pavement (yes again!) so go try their fish tacos =) even better late at night ! haha

  • Mike Z.

Been there once and had the king pork burrito. The pork was very good and the burrito itself was quite tasty. However they have no right to call it a "King". It was one of the smallest burritos I've ever had. Way overpriced tiny burrito! I also had half a steak chimichonga which someone gave me because I was till hungry and it was OK. Steak tasted a little burnt. I'd try it again but get something else next time.

Suburban branch of the famed Taco & Burrito House in Chicago. Burritos are slightly toasted, and that's what makes 'em good. Everything hits the spot.

Best nachos around... When you order their nachos supreme, they mean supreme. You get an entire container filled to the top with tortilla chips and lots of yummy toppings. Also their steak tacos are great, , especially if you add avocado to them. I thought their burritos were just ok I wouldn't order them again. But definitely top the meal off with a large horchata.

Great middle of night food run. There is a popular local bar next door so this place gets a tom of traffic 12-3AM. Decent food. Relatively fast. Cheap. Not a fancy restaurant or anything like that but has a seating area.

I usually go to the Burrito House on Lincoln, but as my dad and I had a craving for some chimichangas and this was around the corner, we decided to give this particular location a try. I have fond memories of BH as I usually hit this place up late at night after a night out of town. I always get my usual, the Chimichanga Steak Dinner - it is always fried well, filled with steak cubes and cheese, a big dollop of guacamole and sour cream on top. They also have red and green hot sauces to complement your meal. It is a decent place to get a chimichanga craving if you do not wan to trek deep into the city. +Chimichanga Steak Dinner +open late

we love the quesadillas! also very cheap, comparing to other taquerias nearby, very clean, the food is tasty and no greasy, it makes you eat without guilt. the rice is not perfect, otherwise this place would be getting FIVE stars!! Aguas frescas are delicious. The bathrooms are always clean and nice. We like the new chairs too WE love that is open late! and finnally the staff and owners are very kind and friendly.

  • Kat L.

Love that they're open late at night. Love that they're reasonably priced. Love that they're not greasy. Love the flavor on that steak. Love that the lettuce and tomato is fresh. They're my perfect quick-bite joint before or after hitting Chaser's next door. 5 stars for it being an awesome taco joint, and a great alternative to my usual, TBK. Note. As a gourmet Mexican restaurant featuring cuisine as a dinner service spot... yeah i wouldn't go here for that. If taken for what it is, though... Wins all around

  • Jacob J.

Don't let the stars fool you. It's not impeccable Mexican food but it's food you can enjoy without a buzz or hangover. (That's not to say you won't see people in either state of mind. I mean.. Chasers IS next door) Perfect for those days when you're off work and too lazy to cook for yourself. For less than $10 dollars a decent meal can be found with any number of different options. They also do burgers and fries if you've gotta have that. Decent taco joint and cheap. A solid 3.5 star kind of place.

  • Judy B.

I always get carry out but I love their hours. The people who work there are really nice and quick. Their food is great- I consider it comfort food. The portions are big and really on the flavorful side. A little greasy but I think its ok. I've tried most of the items on the menu and I haven't been disappointed with anything yet.

Good portioned food, open late which is a huge plus. Overall would recommend if you are in the area.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
