Giordano's is my favorite pizza, because they make the stuffed pizza. The stuffed pizza takes about 30 extra minutes, but it's totally worth it. We usually order sausage, but I recently ordered a stuffed pizza with arthicoke, spinach, and giardinera peppers. It was fantastic! Some people flip out when they get home to see their pizza hasn't been cut. They will cut it upon request. The leave it whole because it keeps everything from sliding around. So chill. I called in an order around 4:00 p.m. during the week, and my pizza was ready on time. This particular location is really dead at times, but on the weekends or after school events (there's a high school nearby) it is super busy. I've dined in at this location a few times and also never had any problems. I didn't have any issues picking up my order. One of the employees off to the side was loudly b*tching about some kind of coupons they don't accept anymore. Like, almost a meltdown over it. Nobody was even trying to use a coupon - she just went on and on about how "other locations" were accepting "fraudulent" coupons. It just bothers me when employees complain about customers (present or not) in front of others. Put a lid on it, already!

Was here with a party of 14 for my birthday lunch. We all love their pizza and will come for their pizza. That is the only reason to come here. The restaurant itself is cute and clean, the food is great but the service is just meh. Our server was not very professional and not attentive at all. We sat around for over 5 minutes without anyone coming to check on us. We were sitting without drinks for way too long and she did not come over to our table enough. I spotted the staff standing around in front of the kitchen most of the time. Stopping by to check on your table and ask them if they need anything is a nice touch, a touch that was not offered to us. We had to flag her down and i think she did not have another table besides ours. The restaurant was not very crowded. We ordered the wings and the mozzarella sticks for appetizers and we ordered a thin crust and a stuffed pizza. Both pizzas were delicious and we knew we would have to wait long for them so that was not a problem. Their food is delicious but they should really work on teaching their staff to be professional. I understand that most of the staff is young but that is no reason to not train them properly.

We called in advance so that our deep dish would be ready by the time we got here. We came in and were seated, but it took quite a while for a waiter to come over to our table, even though the restaurant was mostly empty. For appetizers, we ordered the garlic parmesan fries and house salad - I loved the fries! Our deep dish, however, came out lukewarm, so we had to send it back to the kitchen to be heated up. I give this location 3 stars because the service needs work, but I will say that the quality of the food at Giordano's (especially their deep dish) is consistently good.

Awesome deep dish pizza. Doesn't seem to matter which location you go to, they all produce a great pie. If you want authentic Chicago style pizza drop in. Great service here too. Cheers!

Best Pizza in Chicago regardless of location. Whenever I return to Chicago for a visit I must get to the nearest Giordano's the first day in town for my fix. There are plenty of good deep dish pizzas in the Chicagoland Area but Giordano's is a cut above the rest. Our visit to this restaurant on 8/11/15 had excellent, friendly service and the pizza was great as it always is.

They do an incredible deep dish pizza. It takes about 40 minutes so call ahead and dine in upon arrival or be prepared to wait. Calamari is fantastic and done of the best I've every had! It's great for families and consistently good. The dessert selections are limited but very good.

Went to this location last nigh after reading the reviews. It was really good, had the deep dish with sausage, mushroom and fresh garlic. It came quickly, piping hot and delish!. The selection of beer was great, super cold and came I'm a frosted glass, nice touch. A little pricey for beer, drank a couple anyway. The server was polite and attentive, she was not too notch, but what can you expect in a pizza restaurant. Over all good dinning experience. Had my wife and two children and still had leftovers. Good job Giordanos!

You don't need to say much about Giordano's if you've lived in Chicago for a while. Fantastic deep dish, great flavors, a bit of grease to oil your pipes, and a very full belly when you are done. The usual tips apply - it takes at least 30 minutes to bake one of these bad boys so call your order in if you don't want to be waiting around. My PIC also tried a hand at the ravioli this time around. I wasn't a fan - great pasta and good meat but just kinda seemed like pasta and meat - I wanted a little more zing but I guess we got what we ordered. No fault of the chef. Very fast and very friendly service at this location. No rush to get out, and always there right when we needed the waitress - not a minute before or after. This is a great location to enjoy some of Chicago's finest pizza.

This Giordano's is my go-to location when out of town guests are visiting and want to try the Chicago-style stuffed pizza. I've dined in and had take out from here and both were quite good. They have great options for vegetarian pizzas as well. I particularly love the spinach. The pizza itself is a little pricey but it's so much food (if you get the stuffed) that you don't have to buy that many. We fed 10 people very comfortably with 2 large pizzas. I also think the house salad is really tasty.

Waited over an hour and half for pizza that never came. Their excuse was them being understaffed. Never again.

For years we've loved Giordano's Pizzas great taste and chewy crust. We've been ordering from this location for years and have always been satisfied. Lately there appear to have been some changes. We use to order the X-Large thin crust, which they don't carry anymore. Now there's the 16" Large(the largest thin crust). At about $20.00 it's too much for us to continue paying and the portion size is not enough to feed 2 adults and 2 teens(which the larger size did). Our last visit was a big disappointment. Burnt crust, small size and $30.00 tab, w a medium Caesar Salad was too pricey. Besides the disappointment w the pizza, the salad contained mainly the hard bottom stalks of romaine lettuce. The Caesar dressing was so thick we had to use a spoon to get it out of the container, it was a glob of gu and it had an awful taste.Bad salad! Wasted $30.00. We ordered our pizza bet. 3-4pm Saturday, Dec 27th. Time to search for another pizza destination in the area.

Came to this location for the first time. We ordered the fresh spinach stuffed pizza and it was very good. It does take about 45 min so can't be staving or in a hurry. I been to the midway airport location plenty of times and I have always liked there pizza. It's been a while and it's as good as I remember. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive.

I love giordanos!! This pizza place has the best deep dish pizza in Chicago. I would recommend this place over other pizza places. I like that the crust is thick and buttery. I like that the pizza is very cheesey. I also like the sauce which is mild, and flavorful. I love giordanos. The lunch special means that you can get the personal pizza for less ten dollars with a side and drink. The small pizzas are about 18 dollars and the large can go up to 35 dollars. I am never disappointed when I eat here.

I love Giordano's. I go back and forth on what the best pizza is, but Giordano's is frequently at the top of my list. I am surprisingly one of the people who does not care as much for their deep dish though. I actually think its a little weird and personally I think Lou Malnati's has Giordano's beat by far when it comes to that. When it comes to the thin crust though I think that Giordano's is easily some of the best, if not the best, pizza I have ever had. I realize I am a little different in that way as most people rave about their deep dish. I say forget the deep dish here. Giordano's thin crust is way underrated and insanely good!

  • Nick W.

Best stuffed pizza in the world. Hands down! Their crust is original and no other place has been able to reproduce it. Cheese and sauce is excellent as well. I hope this place stays in business forever. $26 ain't that bad for a large pizza when it feeds 5-6.

Mom, Partner and I stopped here to eat after a multi-hour drive to Naperville for a wake. We all like Giordano's stuffed pizza; they served alchohol. The server here was quite friendly.

I love Giordano's. So far it is my second favorite Chicago deep dish "stuffed" pizza after Barone's. I was thrilled when Giordano's offered a $25 Groupon for $12. That's about what a Large, 3-topping pizza will run you. I snapped that coupon up! I raved about the pizza to my out-of-town guest and we called ahead to place an order. Ours was a little different. We were coming to dine in, but these kind of pizzas normally take about 45 minutes from start to finish. I didn't want to sit and wait; I had errands to run. I wanted the pizza started and brought out to our table when we came to eat. It worked out perfectly! The patio seating was perfect for an August night. Service was great. The bus boy was on it. All empty tables were clean and recently vacated ones were picked up promptly. Our server was on it. He brought refill after refill and didn't mess them up. I'm a Diet Coke or Coke Zero with grenadine kind of girl, extra cherries! Our appetizer of garlic cheesy bread was brought out first, quickly followed by the pizza. And that's where it went from 5 stars to 4 for me. Apparently the Naperville location makes their own sauce and prepares the dough differently than the other locations. Aurora and downtown Naperville take after them, so if you bought from there you might not notice this. The server said reactions to it are across the board. I guess it comes down to what you are used to or preference. I felt it tasted "off." Don't get me wrong. It was still a very good pizza, but it just wasn't "right."

Giordano's offers some really great deep dish pizza! Granted this restaurant is a chain which is one of the only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I'm sure there is some more authentic deep dish that deserves a true 5 starts, but this place offers some pretty great food as well! Looking for some deep dish in the Chicago suburbs, head over to Giordano's.

Overall, Giordano's quality has gone up and down over the years, never less than 2 stars and sometimes as good as 5 stars. Then, there are the differences between delivery and in-restaurant meals. I can't say anything about delivery from this location, but eating in the restaurant was well worth it. We came in for dinner on a Wednesday evening about 5:30 or 6:00. It wasn't very crowded. We were seated right away, ordered after a few minutes looking at the menu, and a short time later got our food. Our orders consisted of a 12" thin crust Meat & More Meat pizza with mushrooms added and Chicken Carbonara Rigatoni. The wife said that the Rigatoni was just fine, 4 stars. I thought the pizza was equally as good, maybe lacking in sauce slightly, but very, very good. The quantity of toppings made it impossible to finish this in one meal. I had to have several pieces boxed to take home. The restaurant was clean, the service friendly and quick and attentive. The prices, very reasonable.

Who doesn't love Chicago deep dish regardless of which suburb you are in? I'll admit, there is something about having a pie downtown that makes it even better - maybe its the water - but this off shoot does Giordano proud. While I've only done delivery and never opt to try anything but the large sausage deep dish, I'm always a happy camper. Waiting an hour for pizza sucks but I've come to realize that seems to be the norm for all non-chain pizza parlors out here. Giordano's is well worth the wait. Their staff was even kind enough to have the delivery driver bring plates, forks/knives (yes, you need a knife with this pizza), and all the cheese/hot pepper along with our pizza when we first moved in to our home and hadn't unpacked yet. Be hungry when you order and plan on eating tomorrow's left overs (they reheat well)!

Their pizza is really good and so are their wings and Parmesan fries. I don't have any complaints of their food at all. I have been to several locations and the food was very good. Our deep dish stuffed pizza is always delivered lukewarm, not happy about that but it still taste good. Our last experience was at the Route 59 location, Naperville and it was my husband's birthday and we were both disappointed. Our waitress left us and never came back to us, we waited for an hour on a small stuffed pizza that was just warm. The hot wings were good but very tiny unlike last time. We would go back again but not to that location. We have had good experiences at other locations. I gave it three stars because of the service, not the food.

This is the newest and also smallest Giordano's we've ever been to. We haven't been to the new downtown Naperville one yet. There was a bit of a wait for folks with 4 or more (looked to be common occurence for the dining room size) til 8pm on a Friday nite, but we were just two and got seated right away. The stuffed sausage and mushroom pizza and Caprese salad we had was ok, but not exceptional by any means. The salad was on soggy side and skimpy on the cheese. Bacino's has a much better Caprese salad. The pizza and crust were decent tasting but it was also soggy and heavy on the tomato sauce, which is the way they pretty much always serve it it seems. There was a watery sauce pool under our uneaten pizza slices. Overall, ok pizza joint, but no comparison to Lou Malnati's.

Thanks to Groupon I got my $25 meal for only $ 12, yay! And, they let you use it towards ETOH, double yay! Had my first caprese salad and let it be known it won't be my last. De-lish and so fresh. It was exactly what I needed on an early spring night w/ my glass of wine. I didn't go for the deep dish, I'm a fan of Lou's for that. But since college I've been a fan of their deep dish, my favorite being sausage and pineapple. The sausage was nice and spicy and the pineapple sweet and they didn't skim on either ingredient. Not the best pizza in my life but nothing to complain about. Our server was sweet and she gave me a $5 gift certificate for my next purchase. I may not have gone back on my own, but I'll definitely use the certificate and maybe they will win be over.

Usually they are very good. But....if they get an order wrong and you call to complain, they hang up on you!!!! Never again. Well....after the bankruptcy they changed the menu and now have totally fucked up the place. Please...guyz....just close it down.

I'm a great fan of order delivery from this restaurant. It may take a while to have a deep dish delivered as it takes at least 30mins to cook it anyway but the wait is worth it. We order dinners from them and they are terrific. My standards are the cheese ravioli, Chicken Parmesan or the baked mostacholli. Serving sizes are enough for at least lunch or two lunches. The warm bread is yum but am not a huge fan of the salads or soups. Cheesy garlic bread is TO DIE FOR. Don't forget that they have desserts. nothing tops off a couch potato evening like a GIANT slice of CHOCOLATE cake. mmmmm Delivery guys are always friendly and the food is HOT. fyi: we've been to the restaurant twice and it was quite busy and loud. Not a big fan of waiting for a table at restaurants that don't have a bar or adequate waiting area.

  • Sara W.

HOLY CRAP! This was an amazing deep-dish pizza. We got the spinach and it must have weighed 5 pounds. It was delicious - the perfect amount of cheese and crust. The crust was perfect. We thought it would last us a while but the two of us ate it all in one day for every meal. For $18, I was content, and was glad they gave us plates and plasticware so we could take this with us on the road. Can't wait to go back.

The best stuffed spinach pizza around! Since they closed our Leonardo's in downtown Naperville, we've been coming here! Never had a problem here! Great service, we can always get a table right away, fast and friendly service- I recommend! If you're craving excellent stuffed pizza, try this place you won't be dissatisfied!

The sauce was not like it used to be. Its too bad they not good anymore. People dont know the sauce is canned and not fresh like it used to be.

My husband and I are huge fans of deep dish, and order from this location at least twice a month during football season. The pizza is tasty, and the orders are delivered quickly (for folks that don't usually order deep dish, quickly is around 45-50 minutes). I like the online tracking system (though twice it has immediately skipped ahead to 'on its way' within minutes of ordering, though the pizza was still being made). What impresses me most, however, is the service. On one occasion, there was a pizza mix-up, and my driver brought the right receipt but the wrong pizza. When I called to let them know, not only was the manager able to arrange a pizza swap within 15 minutes, but she also gave us a 50% off discount for the oversight. Great food and good service.

  • Tom H.

Quite simply the best pizza in the world. The location does not matter as much, but a Giordano's deep dish pizza pie is a slice of heaven. (Or two or three slices with a really big appetite!) Long live Chicago-style pizza and long live the KING of Chicago-stlye pizza... Giordano's!

    (5)
  • E d.

We have ordered only take out here and it has been good until recently. For some reason, the toppings on the deep dish pizza we usually order really lacked on the toppings; the cook for some reason decided to be really cheap and skimp on the toppings. My kids for the first time that I've ever seen at only one slice each and said the pizza was bland. I assume the poor economy has hit them hard, so they had to put less toppings. Well, I'll try and order again and if they make like they always have, I'll update and change this review with higher ratings.

I ordered online and had the pizza delivered it was a Great Chicago style pizza.

Usually does the trick. Looong waits are typical, but good deep dish takes a while to cook regardless. I personally prefer Gino's pizza overall, but Giordano's uses better cheese.

  • Jay n.

Very, very, very good Deep Dish Pizza, but I'll give it only Four Stars because I think it's a notch below Lou Malnati's in this area. If you are in the mood for a stuffed spinach pizza, they may very well have the best. We've been disappointed in their thin crust too many times, but for Deep Dish....Four Stars.

  • Anonymous F.

Love Love Love this place! so sad they got rid of the spinach artichoke dip!

  • Misty S.

They know how to make a deep dish, alright. Although, they call it "stuffed pizza pie" instead of deep dish...has it always been that way? I ate so much Giordano's deep dish when I worked downtown that I got sick of it. Ah, the downside to gorging on your favorite food. I stayed away from Giordano's for a while and finally went back when a rest.com coupon for it fell into my lap. They still know how to make a deep dish pizza, but it's so hard for me to finish a whole slice. I did discover that they make pretty good ravioli, too! Our waitress was fast and friendly. These stuffed pizzas take a while to make, so we called ahead to place our order for dine in. Smarts.

Costco pizza will never be the same after a week's worth of driving to chicago for pizza. This was probably one of the most anticipated food stops ive always wanted to try and it was worth the trip. The best deep dish ive ever had in my life. The crust was nice and flakey but not too heavy on the butter. If youre out here in illinois, you gotta eat here. Its a must.

I was visiting Wheaton College not too long ago and wanted to get a real taste of a Chicagoland deep-dish pizza. Not being a local, I took a stab at Giordano's based on its Yelp reviews. You guys know your stuff. I couldn't've asked for a better pizza. The crust alone was great, but the sauce--my GOD the SAUCE--is phenomenal. The one thing that could've been better was the service--I spent a good amount of time waiting on the food, and it seemed difficult to get a hold of my waiter. When I'm back in the fall, short visits to Naperville may be common just for the pizza.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
