I do not like the pizza but man sometimes a bit of under-cooked crazy bread hits the spot! And these folks will cook it right - load up the parm cheese and mmmmmm! I give em 5 starts on there Service however - absolutely incredible - GREAT WORK STAFF!
That bacon-wrapped deep dish is delicious!!!!! I shared it with a co-worker and we couldn't eat more than half. It reheated pretty well too. I recommend ordering the deep dish over the hand-tossed.
The Italian Cheese Bread for $3.99 is better than many pizza's. You can get a side of red sauce and now you basically have pizza.

Greg’s Frozen Custard

Reviews:
I want to give this place 6 stars :D Seriously, get an Aztec. Why? Because it's a brownie. Topped with frozen custard. And then that sublime combo is topped with hot fudge. Think they're finished? Nah, throw some cinnamon on it (and that's really the artist's touch). Cherry on top and *then* they're done topping the thing. Favorite dessert, hands down!!!
Found this place on yelp after another place was closed. SO great and delicious! It's a cute throwback place. You don't actually go inside. It's either walk up or drive thru which is pretty cool. Really great customer service; girl was explaining how things worked since I had never been there before. To be fair, I was also the only one there so I'm not sure how fast service is there during their peak hours, but it was pretty fast service! Prices are good. I just wish they carried more than 3 flavors of custard at a time. BUT, their mix-ins- there are A LOT of them! I got heath bar and omg it was BIG chunks of heath and it was so good! If I'm back in the area, I will be definitely coming back for more!
I drove by on my way to to Tighthead Brewery and had to stop on the way back! Its bright and there were a lot of cars around. My husband works in the area and did not know Greg's was around. We joined the lines and it didn't take much time at all. They have so many selections to choose from that it could take awhile for you to decide what you wanted. They offer three mini sundaes which were the perfect size. We got a mini turtle sundae and The Elvis sundae. There is plenty of seating all around the area that can accomodate large crowds.. I wish i lived closer!

Diner bliss, it doesn't make much to make me smile when I go out to eat. Fresh food, served hot with good service and a smile and I'm all in. At Mauri's Cafe in Mundelein this will happen. No this does not have the atmosphere of Egg Harbor, nor are you going to get Hollandaise Sauce on your eggs, but if you looking for Eggs Over, Hash browns and Bacon, with toast or Pancakes this is the place. My favorite breakfast at Maur's is: Mauri's Bowl - What a great combination of Goodness, Corn beef Hash, Mushrooms, Pepper, Hash browns, Sausage, Cheese and Eggs Over on top, Pancakes on the side. Wow this baby is enough for two. I've eating here now about 12 times over the last year. Bacon is always crisp, sausage is always brown, hash browns are golden. Pumpkin Pancakes and waffles are a specialty. Their cook can do no wrong and could train most hotel chefs on how bacon and eggs should be cooked. It's not five stars but if your looking for a great breakfast, at a great price, go here.
Given the great reviews about Mauri's, we decided to go out of our way and try it. We felt that the food is way overrated. Wife got an egg white omelette with mushroom and cheese and I had a Mexican skillet. The meals came with pancakes on the side. Wife got regular and I got the pumpkin. The omelette was pretty mediocre- flat and just looked and tasted like an omelette we could make at home. The skillet had a lot of potatoes and chorizo but lacked in flavor. The pancakes were great, especially the pumpkin pancakes. Service is friendly but as states in other reviews, this place is tiny and people stand by the door waiting to be seated. Overall, standard breakfast food but not above average by any means.
Love this place. A hole in the wall that offers a great breakfast at a great price. Seating is very limited, which is why I didn't want to write the review as more people may find my morning hole in the wall and have me stand and wait.

We've lived in Mundelein for 3+ years and heard rave reviews of this place. The first time we tried to come was about a year ago on a weekend evening and they were closed. They have weird hours so be sure to check that out. Today was the second time we tried. After checking the hours to be sure they were open we headed over. When we walked in we were not greeted, welcomed or have anyone say hello. It appeared you were to order and then take your own seat, but no one directed us, nor were their any signs saying so. The women behind the counter looked annoyed that we didn't know what we wanted to eat. The menu is large and there are many choices. While reading the menu we noticed a part that said 'Family friendly, yes. Children's playground, no. Keep your children seated and reasonably quiet' While this seems like common sense, it was very off putting as we stood there holding our two year old. I suddenly felt like we were not welcome with our kid. Okay on to ordering. Everything is a la cart. I ordered the Turkey Club, fries and a drink, my husband ordered the Philly cheese steak, curly fries and a drink and we got the kids Mac N Cheese. Our bill was $30!!! Pretty expensive for just a couple sandwiches. Also, they charged us $1 'service fee' for using our debit card. Seriously!? It took about 10-15 minutes to get our sandwiches. The same girl who took our order delivered our food, still no smile or any sort of friendliness at all. My turkey club was good, I had no complaints, the Mac and cheese was fine for a kids meal (I should point out the kids meal comes with nothing but the entree. No side or drinks) My husband said his cheese steak wasn't good. He said it was greasy and crumbly. After we were finished he went to ask for a to-go box and was directed to a coffee cart they were under, in a lecturing manner as if he should have known. All in all, the food was mediocre, but the off putting sign about kids, the unfriendly service and high prices will keep us from ever returning. Seriously, how hard is it to smile and be friendly??? Good customer service goes a long way!!!
Understaffed. Went there early on a Sunday with my family and the line to order was 4 people deep but took 15 minutes. The wait for the food was at least 25 minutes. We bussed our own table. Enough said Average. The food was nothing original or inventive. The taste was nothing you can't get at any other dive in the area. Will we be back? No. Should you eat here? Probably not.
A surcharge on credit card charges? I haven't seen that in a while but the negative reinforcement did get me to use cash. Oddly designed entryway in which you immediately feel constrained and can't really see the sitting area and no signs directing me what to do. Yes I am married so should be able to read minds but a simple "Order at counter before sitting" would alleviate some confusion. Adding to the angst is the myriad selections on the menu. Wow! Awesome! But a bit overwhelming when you are already confused as to what you are doing (these are all clearly first visit issues). The dining area seemed slightly dirty. Like it had not been cleaned thoroughly in a while. Evidenced by a mystery stain on the floor i front of the ladies room. Oh and no AC?! Food you ask? Chicken noodle soup - please provide a disclaimer that this contains 500% of my salt intake for the day BLT- yea!!! Awesome job!! House made chips- great job hot and crispy chicken and Bacon wrap - the bread is a bit thick. Curly fries - pretty tasty Location can't be beat if your kids love trains!!!

Just enjoyed a healthy portion of deliciously tender Gnocchi with vodka sauce. While my mom enjoyed the meat & spinach ravioli. Our server was friendly & attentive. We couldn't leave without trying a cannoli...glad we did! Apparently it was a good night to go out to dinner because all the tables were taken & guest were lined up patiently waiting. Dinner was delicious & we will be back!
Great sandwiches, great service, and great pastries. All of this at a very fair price. I have been here twice in the last 3 weeks, and I will definitely be back soon. A great place to stop during your lunch hour. Has a fair amount of outdoor seating, which is always nice in the spring.
My wife and I love this place! The food is always fantastic, though sometimes the servers are a bit rough around the edges. The soups are creative, the mussels are not to be missed for dinner. We particularly like the tuna sandwich for lunch. It's not fancy and it's not cheap, but we've never been disappointed.

Outstanding family owned Italian restaurant. Caesars salad is huge and a meal in itself. Minestrone is full of goodies and not the typical runny red tomato broth. Plenty on the menu with at least eight daily specials. Something for everyone. Portions are huge and most served with a side of pasta with marinara or meat sauce. Best meat sauce EVER! Veal dishes are the best tenderest veal. Seafood is fresh and prepared perfectly. Prices are reasonable, service excellent and attentive. We love this place and go back every couple of weeks.
Great Italian food! We can here on a whim meeting a relative who was in town. Let me tell you that they have specials and they are really the best thing available; the menu is standard Italian fare. I read comments about Seafood Risotto and Lobster Ravioli but they were not on the menu, we soon found that some of the most popular meals mentioned were specials. The Lobster Ravioli was excellent; the pasta was great and they were substantive in size. My wife ordered these and loved them, as did my cousin whom we dined with for dinner. I had the Seafood Risotto: fresh shrimp (prepared wonderfully), mussels, clams, Calamari, etc. were all about a large bed of risotto; the meal was delicious. My son (age 11) had their Tilapia and a side of pasta and he got the "clean plate award" as it was all gone. He loved it! Warning: I did had adverse reactions that night to the meal (vomiting, etc.) but I question if this was the restaurant's fault. The Seafood Risotto is a popular dish and if everyone was sickened this would become known. I may be very susceptible to reactions (it has happened more than once) which leads me to believe it is an allergic reaction. You should never eat shellfish that are unopened; I am unsure if my reaction was one had been unopened after cooking, but opened before serving, or if I am potentially allergic to one of those types of shellfish. I have had mussels and clams without reactions on many occasions so I deducted 1 star as a result. Overall: great meal and I would eat there again but not order the Seafood Risotto.
Service was very slow and had a batch of bad mussels. When I told the manager (Mark?) about it, he apologized and said we get them from a very good purveyor but sometimes things slip through the crack. He said next time you come I'll make it up to you... I'm thinking hey fat ass, what are you going to do for us today?? Well Sherlock, there was no next time!

A great spot to get carnitas in the north suburbs. Their meat is well seasoned and the salsa is delicious. Make sure you bring cash. They have tables to eat in or you can carry out. Burritos are smaller than other places but their other options make up for it.
Found this place by accident one day with my boyfriend and has been our favorite taco place since. The restaurant itself is very nice and vibrantly colored just wish the location wasn't so hidden. The staff is really polite and there's a good amount of seating. It's great to have a place that sells carnitas all week instead of only the weekends! We are always happy with our orders and couldn't recommend this place enough! I recommend the carnitas tacos! It's perfect!
Came for the carnitas, and was not disappointed. Highly recommend the $12 take-out special, which will easily feed 2-3 with a pound of carnitas, a dozen corn tortillas, onion, cilantro, and your choice of sauce on the side (my wife and I have leftovers.)

You have to try business lunch special. Probably the best $5.99 meal I ever had. Beef shawarma sandwich was wonderful too. Reataurant was very clean and service was good
TIP: Come during lunch hours 12-3pm weekdays if you want the best deal in town. You really can't go wrong with this place, especially for its price. It's the perfect combination that satisifies your hunger and much much more. You can also bring your pita basket once you run out and ask for a refill. I love their sauces and found that the perfect combination is actually mixing them together, take the white sauce and pour it into the red sauce cup and voila! You got yourself "da bomb" sauce. I love Pita Inn's employees', especially who pay attention to detail. Service is what I look for and they always prove themselves. When a customer is finished, they immediately offer to take their trays and clean the spot right there. You won't find that anywhere else for a quick fast food place.
Food is consistent although portions have been smaller the last few times and naturally prices slightly raised but on par with market. Solid place with tasty food. Yes, there are other places but Pita Inn has a special place in my heart. Decor reflects an old chinese buffet haha. Baba Ghannough, Beef Shawarma, Veggie Combo Plate, Falafels, Lentil Soup, and of course the lunch special - all flavorful/fresh.
