In a word - horrible. Chinese food, in my experience, typically breaks the pick two rule and is good, fast and cheap. Unfortunately, China Dragon has completely managed to remove the 'good' from their food. We ordered: Chicken Lo-mien (bland, tasteless, over cooked noodles), Beef and Broccoli (beef was void of any flavor, the sauce tasted like beef broth with a thickening agent added, broccoli was surprisingly cooked well, but also void of any flavor), General Tso's Chicken (this dish normally has anything from a slight kick to hot, it was not - worse it was just as bland as the beef and no 'chicken' could be found among the fried balls of mystery substance), White rice (cooked well, no complaints), Crab Rangoon (if you've never had this you would think it was OK, if you have, it is 'OK' at best). Also, a personal pet peeve, they only take cash or checks and don't mention it on the phone when you order. I had to run out and get cash from my wife just to buy dinner as I typically carry maybe $5 and who uses checks anymore! On a more positive note the staff was very friendly and welcoming.

I can't give anything over three stars because the food is exactly what you'd expect from a strip mall Chinese restaurant where the lunch special is $5. That being said, it met expectations, was quick, and had about 20 lunch special options. Hunan shrimp was clouted as spicy but barely packed a punch. Did have decent amount of veggies (broccoli, bell peppers, baby corn, carrots) but next time would ask for white rice instead of fried as it was way too greasy..

The best takeout Chinese food. China Dragon just can't be beat. If, heaven forbid, you ever find yourself in Morton, IL and crave some chicken fried rice and wontons you know where to go.

Best cheap takeout Chinese food I've had anywhere in Central Illinois. I've been impressed with everything I've gotten from there, including the Hot and Sour Soup which a lot of otherwise good restaurants seem to be able to do well. Be warned though--they do not take credit cards, so come armed with either cash or a check.

Love this place! It's my go to Chinese place when I'm craving some carry out! I highly recommend the orange chicken!

My go to place for Chinese carry out. Probably the best place in the Morton / East Peoria Area. Really like anything that includes their Roast Pork. Their lo mein is excellent. Some of the best Crab Rangoon.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
