Ron’s Pork Shack

1514 Creek Dr
Morris, 60450
Reviews:
The pulled pork is wonderful even without the two BBQ sauces of your choice. I do recommend the sauce though, good stuff. My husband likes beef brisket, but he was not impressed. Once in a while I stop in and get a pound of pork with a large side of greens for dinner. (We don't eat a lot of carby foods) The staff is super friendly, always treating us like they've known us forever. We love that.
sauce is homemade by Ron. very good food
It's our first visit to this place. She ordered the Sloppy Ron with sides of cole slaw and mac & cheese. The guy behind the counter suggested I get the Brisket Sandwich with hot sauce. I had that, with cole slaw and sweet potato tots. We also got an order of fried pickles. With sauce dripping onto my chin and covering my fingers, I look at her and say "mmmph woummph wormph the drmphh frmphh Brookmfld." She is a LOT more couth than me, so she swallows her food before saying "I was thinking the exact same thing!" Google maps says it is 50.5 miles from Brookfield to Ron's Pork Shack - a 65 minute drive. What I said to her, which you couldn't understand because my mouth was filled with mouth-watering food, was "this would be worth the drive from Brookfield."

This is my 4th night in a row here. They have the most extensive beer list in town and the food is reliably consistent. Emphasis on beef but they do have other things. Almost ordered the seafood jambalaya last night but opted for the brisket instead. Their garlic mashed potatoes are awesome in and totally not good for your waistline! Steaks are done properly and they know the difference between rare and medium rare. The only faults I can give them is weak salads and the service can be a tad slow when they're slammed. Emphasis on 'tad' -- we weren't ignored or blown off by any means.
Amazing food! Must try the armadillo eggs ad cheese sticks! They are so tasty!!! Love the mix drink menu as well! Very comfortable atmosphere and definitely my new favorite bar!
Atmosphere is casual with a saloon decor. During peak dinner hours, there is a friendly hostess to seat you. There is a bar with seating. Seating also available in and outside. There are some slot machines, 4 TVs inside, and 1 TV outside. Server was nice and attentive. Homemade soup on this visit was corn chowder which was very good. We had wings for appetizer with a mango habanero sauce. I had the special which was BBQ ribs. It came with a veggie, baked or mash potatoes, and a cup of soup. The prices are very reasonable. Good variety of choices on the menu. We will definitely go back soon.

This place very well might have THEEE best glazed donuts I've ever had (and much to my own shame, I've had a LOT of donuts in my time). The customer service was outstanding, the aesthetic was wonderfully quaint and I wish I had more room in my stomach for more of their delicious treats. Whenever I'm in Morris, I'll be back for more of their wonderful donuts! Thanks to John and Sarah Musick for bringing me to this great establishment.
By far the best bakery around! Their cakes are BEAUTIFUL! They are so reasonably priced. They taste like heaven. If you are in Morris or near the area stop here! You will not be disappointed!
The best donuts! Almost worth the trip to Morris. Get there early, and don't forget the cinnamon roll loaf!

Lindy Gerties Restaurant

Reviews:
I grew up eating at Lindy's Chili. Love it!!!! I took my children there and asked me why was I holding out on them!!
My standby any time I am in Morris. They take extra care to ensure they always put out the highest quality product. They had a problem with a supplier one time I was there, and instead of getting the meat from somewhere else, the owner told me they had tried others and it wasn't up to their standards so they would be out for a few days until their next delivery. Make sure you get the beef and sausage combo or the gyro. And save room for ice cream.
Lindy Gertie's is one of those fun little novelty places to eat at. Despite the outside ambiance (the strip mall it's in really sucks), the inside is nice. Don't let it fool you. Milkshakes are awesome, and they even have a veggie burger which pleasantly surprised me. Probably the only place in Morris with one... Definitely worth a visit.

What a charming cafe! It has the feel of an old time place where folks come to meet and catch up with each other. No TV's blaring, just people hanging out, lots of chatter, warm hello's and best of all...pie! Loved taking my family there!
Ate here on Saturday afternoon of the cruise night. Only 2 other tables filled....due to it being around 4 pm. Our waitress was friendly. The other waitress that brought out menus really wasn't friendly. Food was fine. Nothing bad. Nothing exceptional.
If you are looking for an amazing small town diner that does it right, you shouldn't eat anywhere else in Morris. Great coffee, the owner makes the pies daily, and a wait staff with just the right amount of smile and sass to improve your day for sure. Skip the truck stop diner and make the trip to Liberty St. I go out of my way every time I am in the area to get here for a slice of pie and a Coffee. Can I give them six stars?

Okay...you can't always trust happy yelpers, I guess. We were headed to back Morris after visiting family in Pontiac. (Just visiting Morris too, from the southeast.) Hungry. We went to Yelp for dinner ideas. We LOVE Mexican food, hubby and I. The reviews for this place were so positive! Authentic Mexican food! We bypassed La Mex which we like but it's run-of-the-mill and a bit bland. Saturday night, 5:30, no crowd. Waitress brought a basket of crushed chips and two condiment bottles containing a tasty red salsa and a verde. We ordered guacamole which looked authentic but wasn't above average. Hubby ordered the wet burrito pastor, he thought the meat was well seasoned but dry. I ordered the chicken burrito with beans and rice as a side. Burrito had chicken, shredded cheddar, refried beans...I honestly don't remember what else, only that the entire meal was lukewarm. Cheese shreds were solid. Hubby poked a finger on it to confirm the temp; maybe I was just being picky? No it was barely warm. The waitress took it back and heated it for me in the microwave while the woman behind the kitchen counter glared at me. It was better hot, but had little flavor. People of Morris, you deserve Authentic Mexican food. This isn't it.
The tamales are amazing! I think they make them fresh on the weekends and you can pick up a dozen. Love the red salsa and the guac.
Best Mexican food in Morris, family-owned & awesome! Also, they sell homemade tamales on Saturday for a GOOD price. Also, it's the only place around here that I can buy the ingredients I need for traditional Mexican food!

Awesome Food, the chicken flautas are amazing and the steak tacos Mexican style are killer!!!!!!
Always great food and super nice people. The Diablo burrito is a fav, but be prepared with something cool to drink!!
Finally got to try the food here today. The California burrito has gotten good reviews so that's what I ordered. It was fantastic! Nice heat. I also had two Al Pastor tacos (.99 cents) which were tiny but delicious. Priced a little high for burrito, two tacos and a pop at $11 but I will be back!
