Midday lunch was awesome. Great flavors. Glad to see a new place near orchard that has great food
Best spot in the Montgomery area. Carne Asada was good. Al pastor was a bit on the greasier side. Service was good. Horchata was mixed well. You have to go up & order unlike other authentic Mexican spots. Tapatios still my favorite spot.
First visit was today, food was amazing. You made a customer out of us for life. Super excited that you also deliver.

Select Restaurant

My wife and I have been eating here for ten years. The atmosphere is quiet and the wait staff is very friendly. The owner is often cooking or at the counter and is available for questions or comments. The clientele seem to be older local couples. I do like their prices, while they are current, they are not high. Occasionally I've found the food is not to my liking, but they always are more than happy to get me something I liked.
Had breakfast this morning with my family at Select. I first came here back in July 1988 when visiting a family friend, so a couple of years ago I brought my family here for a return trip. (We live in Des Moines) This morning, since we were in town, we decided to go to Select for a return visit. Please don't let the appearance of this place fool you. At first, it appears outdated and well-worn, but the food is excellent and the staff very friendly. I kinda hope they don't ever remodel the place because I prefer the vintage outdated look. Too many restaurants look the same these days--Select is unique. I ordered the "Select" skillet with scrambled eggs/ham/veggies/hash browns. And, coffee of course. The food arrived quickly and was piping hot. Our waitress kept our coffee mugs filled. My wife ordered the breakfast burrito and my 3 kids all had pancakes. My skillet came with buttered toast which was very good. The kind of toast where the butter is melted into the bread and then you put your jelly on it. My skillet had great flavors and was plenty of food for the money. If I lived in the area I would definitely hit this place at least weekly. There was a good crowd here this morning which is very indicative of a great place to eat. If you are seeking a great place for breakfast, then this is the place to go. Stay away from those boring chains like IHOP. This place is much better. One of these days I will get around to having lunch or dinner here.
Great place for good food and very affordable...tons of food for the money. I've been going for years and it's an excellent place for a big family. And SALAD BAR? YEP! Unheard of anymore. So I love eating here. The waitresses are very nice and personable. Highly recommend Select ReStaurant.

George’s Restaurant

110 Webster St
Montgomery, 60538
Reviews:
This is my kind of breakfast joint. The counter is full of old men drinking coffee, shootin' the shit, and complaining about stuff. The tables are filled with working people taking breakfast meetings. The decor is old school small town diner. The food is good, cheap, and fast. The pancakes are good. If you go to a breakfast place and they have bad pancakes just turn around. The eggs, bacon, and sausage was done excellent. I couldn't be happier with this as my go to breakfast joint. Don't expect the ritz, because this place is down to earth.
You know, Montgomery is Oswego's way less attractive sibling. It must hurt to have to live in the shadows of the hipster paradise always hoping for the day when someone will notice that you have some good traits, though hard to find. That's where George's Restaurant comes in. George's is a classic small town diner that's been around for 40+ years in the dingy, sad area wistfully referred to as "Downtown Montgomery". After having driven by the place in search of a short cut to the coolness that is Oswego my wife and I decided to try it out. First the place is busy for its location but spotlessly clean. Your first hint that you may have struck it rich are the tables of senior citizens. This group won't pass up good food reasonably priced! I noticed that the big screen TV was set to CNN. Not that FOX would have affected the overall experience, but I like that George chose a less controversial channel for the breakfast crowd. The service was immediate and friendly with an excellent cup of diner coffee that would put Starbucks to shame. Add to that the fact that your cup never goes empty (did I mention they were busy?) and we have an excellent first impression. The next thing that hits you is the price. We were there for breakfast but every single option was a good dollar or two below what you'd expect to pay in fancy-schmancy Oswego. I asked for a sample of their country gravy and it was immediately bought out with a smile. Now I wish I could recommend the gravy but I can't, too plain tasting and while I could see chunks of meat I could not get a sausage taste (sorry George, that cost you the fifth star!). I opted instead for a basic eggs and sausage entree while my wife ordered the rIb-eye steak and eggs. Here is where George's shines. Our order was on the table in a matter of minutes, seriously, this place redefines "freaky fast". everything was cooked to order. Now when you order steak and eggs you almost have to expect that they will over cook your steak if you like things on the rare side. Not George! My wife's steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was huge. I mean hanging over the sides of the plate huge! Now this is a breakfast steak so it's not going to have the quality you'd expect in a dinner steak...but you'd be wrong in this case. As is the norm in a diner it was grilled on a flat top and imbued with great flavor. Yes, it was fatty but it was a rib-eye - not a lean piece of meat to begin with. The flavor was great. Oh. Did I mention that the rib-eye steak and eggs was $8.95 - with hash browns and toast? "Great value" is an understatement. And have a nice healthy day on your own time, the toast came out hot and buttered from a pot of melted butter-like substance. Freakin' diner heaven! Two full, made to order breakfasts with beverage came to just $19.00. Add to that the knowledge that you are supporting a local, long time, independent business and everything tastes just that much better. I will definitely be back to try the lunch and dinner entrees but I am pretty sure I just found my favorite local diner. Be proud Montgomery, Oswego doesn't have a place like George's Restaurant.
I almost don't want to review this place as I'm afraid the secret will get out. George's is our new favorite place for a tasty, reliable, and inexpensive breakfast in the Fox Valley area. Don't be put off by the fact that it's an older establishment, as the tasty food, hot coffee, and low prices make up for it.

If you are looking for that small town diner that used to be a Pizza Hut, then this is your place. I love breakfast food. So I stopped for lunch and grabbed some eggs. It was a late lunch so there was only a few people in the joint. The eggs were overcooked and nothing was stand out. This seems to be a place that old people love because the food is bland and never changes. I got a meh meal served up with the staff complaining about each other. George's is about 45 seconds away and serves up a tasty breakfast.
Not fine dining, but a pretty fine diner! The menu is complete, if you can't find something you have a taste for then you must be dead! Everything was hot fast and delicious and a bargain, lots of selections from breakfast to dinner. Will definitely make it a go-to for cheap eats.
I'm disappointment it look like I was having food from grammar school it was not good

Grandma’s Table

1700 Douglas Rd
Montgomery, 60538
Reviews:
Grandma's Table always seems to be packed. But when you go in, it doesn't feel overbearing with people. Breakfasts are always good. The omelets are fluffy and the skillets are jam packed with meaty goodness. It's a good place to get the best deal for your money. Even the dinners are great. Though a couple times, I went in on a Sunday and their specials were sold out. That seems a little lame especially when I had to go through four different choices before I picked something that was available. Boo.
The GREAT alternative to fast food. C'mon in and get a meal just like Grandma would make. One of the last places on earth where you are served by real people that care. You can eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (& late dinner) here!
I saw there were many reviews on here and I had to disagree with the bad ones. I was there on 9-22-12 and yes it was a Saturday night and they were very busy and as for the service it was outstanding. I was looking around seeing if any of the bad reviews were legit and at the time i would say no. I had a coworker go there the Sunday night the week before and it was the same as my good review. They had no bad things to say for it and with that being said the food was good and for me the prices were a little high to what I was used to with a same type of restaurant but the portions were very big and the dinners came with cake or pie as well so you did not go away hungry or feeling cheated. I would try it if you are reading this and write your review on what you thought. I will go back.

Stopped in at KFC to try the new Classic Pot Pie. I'm normally not a KFC guy if I get fast food chicken its usually Popeyes but they don't offer pot pies and I liked them when I was a youngster. I'll give the pot pie meal experience at KFC a 3 and a half star performance. It was a flashback to my younger days and actually not to bad or pricey.
I usually don't go to KFC I'm more towards Popeyes! I went tonight , it was on my way home from work. The kitchen I got was horribly dry! And it tasted like it had sat there all day! So on top of a rude greeting! My food wasn't even worth it .
Food Is ok. My problem with this KFC are the women's attitudes that take your order. Its pretty bad when I expect for someone to have an attitude. I have to ask twice for hot sauce or honey because they are so busy having an attitude they don't listen.

New to the area and this is the 1st Chinese place we have tried and oh what a disappointing experience. Food lacks flavor completely. Ordered simple dishes mostly to try them out, Chicken Fried Rice, Beef Fried Rice, a Szechwan Vegetable dish, egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Have never seen fried rice without any egg. Google fried rice recipes, they all have egg. This place used no egg in both our fried rice orders so we doubt it was a mistake. Only tasted pepper. Lots and lots of pepper. Egg rolls bland. Bland mush. No crisp to the outside at all. Were they pre-made hours before and days before, were they frozen previously? All these likely answers for what we were delivered. The Szechwan dish was also full of pepper. Can you make pepper bland? Well yes they can. This is a dish we had previously ordered at other restaurants regularly so it is familiar to us. Have never ordered a Szechwan sauce quite like this and not in a good way. Crab Rangoon was the only saving grace of the who cost of the meal we ordered. We will continue our search for a good place in our new area.
I love chinese as much as the next person but personally they're egg rolls and crab rangoon are too doughy for me. The service was great and had delivery. I just rather spend my money else where.
the garlic chicken here is my favorite. I was obsessed with it when I lived in Oswego. I tried the lemon chicken here too which I liked a lot too but something about the garlic chicken was to die for. My family other than myself didn't like it and ordered at Mason Wok instead. They can suck it, this place is so much better.
