I absolutely love this place! Their tacos are amazing!!! The staff is great. I enjoy going here with friends. Especially on taco Tuesday. If you ever feel like grabbing some authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go.

hehehe. Prices are good. Service is great. Food is average. Don't get me wrong here. I have easily dined at both Adolph locations, no exaggeration, over 50 times combined. Taco Tuesday?--you can't beat it. Some days you crave it like crazy. Here is the thing though, when I began to explore the rest of their menu, I started to realize that it isn't that great. It isn't bad, by any means, but it isn't great. In case you're wondering what "style" of Mexican food it is. It is definitely heavily Americanized. Everything is served with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Dinner plates are smothered in cheese. Not a whole lot of authentic options.(lengua, tripas, sesos, etc.) Again, not bad AT ALL. But I can think of, quite literally, 10 places within 2-3 miles that serve better tasting and more authentic Mexican food.

Adolph's is to Mexican cuisine what Happy Joe's is to Pizza. We all know they aren't the real deal. But you know what? On certain occasions that's just fine with this relocated local. It is what it is. In the case of Adolph's, somewhat Americanized Mexican Food that has somehow managed to retain the highest level of quality and consistency for longer than I have inhibited this god forsaken mud ball we call earth. A taco I eat today is as pleasurable as the first one I ate as a child with my parents when Adolph's was in downtown Moline in the 1960's or an order or three I consumed at the 23rd Avenue outpost after cutting classes from MHS and hitting a bowl of Acapulco Gold in my '67 Camaro on any number of Indian summer afternoons in the late 1970's. Yes, change is good. Yes, authentic is good. Yes, pig ear and beef tongue and other tasty bits (yet once born of availability/necessity) du jour tacos are good. But all I can say is that Adolph's must be doing something right in bringing it for fifty plus years. Delicious local comfort food and a taste of home. Sometimes that's all you need. Carry on Perez family, carry on.

Hands down the best Flautas in the quad cities! I get them every time. My girlfriend is Mexican, and she knows good Mexican food! The salsa is also very good.

Yummy, inexpensive tacos (and other stuff). Really flavorful, nothing like the local chains. Big portions and easy to combine whatever items you want without breaking the bank. I'll be back. Indoors is basically a fast food counter with seating. There's also a drive up window to pick up take out.

Love Adolph's! Have been going here for years and is high on my list to visit when in town. It's family owned and everyone is very friendly. They do a lot for the community and I like supporting local owned establishments. The food is basic and the quality is consistent. They had taco Tuesday specials long before it became a trend. I really like the sauce that comes with the food on the side. If your looking for good basic non-flare Mexican dishes this is the place. The location in east moline is open Sundays with a buffet.

I moved back to the Quad Cities about 3 1/2 years ago.. somehow in all of that time, i managed to drive past adolphs over and over again without managing to stop in - and this from an avid mexican food fan. Well finally, my sister and I started out quest for the ultimate tacos and have made it our duty once every week to try a new mexican restaurant. Adolph's was the third stop on our list of restaurants ... and quite frankly... if i'm being honest... it was our fourth and fifth stop too lol. The tacos were amazing! Finally someone that has some flavor in their food. I appreciated being able to order the cheddar cheese on my tacos - i can't help it, i'm Americanized when it comes to my Mexican food.. i prefer yellow to white cheese. The chips and salsa were very good as well. If i were to give one mild criticism, it is that their shells are a little more thick than i prefer ... but then, the tacos are nice and juicy, so i guess its a good thing so they don't get soggy. Truly, i have no complaints. The service is nice, the prices are super reasonable and the tacos were da bomb!

I love me some Adolph's. They have the best chalupa in the world. Their tacos aren't bad as well. Not a place I would eat in, but take out is pretty good. Cheap too!

Cheap. Delicious. Authentic. Puts a smile on your face. My two favorites are the tacos and the guacamole. I've had a variety of fillings and often mixing up an order of three (sometimes I have 4! - just can't get enough). These are no wimpy tacos like some chains but these are STUFFED full of meat, topped with lettuce and Cotija cheese. Really, these are so full they give you a spoon with every order because you just can't keep it all in the shells!. Personally, I like the "medium" shells (not too hard, not too soft, just right) - if you haven't tried them this way, give it a whirl (you won't go back). The guac is super fresh and spicy with bit of freshness (perhaps lemon). Be sure to get the spicier hot sauce :-)

We went a few months ago, and I still am dreaming of my beef tostada. The chips are super thin and very good also there! Glad to have tried this place and will be back again. It's not authentic Mexican food (it's the midwest-Americanized Mexican food); but it is good.

Average Mexican food. Steak tacos were quite good, but the chimichangas, rice, beans, salsa, and queso dip were okay. Service was on the slow side as well. You order at the counter and wait for your food to be brought out to you.

Sloppy Mexican food makes me happy (picture a cat purring contentedly on his or her owner's lap). When I'm in Rock Island, Adolph's is my cat nip, no joke son. On a recent visit to the quad cities, I visited Adolph's with my fiancee and future mother-in-law, as kind of an Easter interlude between prime rib and ham dinners. I basically spent three days stuffing myself to the gills and hoping my stomach wouldn't burst. Surprisingly, Adolph's was manageable and relatively tasty. One thing I do appreciate is that Adolph's goal isn't to blow you away with delicate gastronomy, it's there to fill you up with free chips and knock you down with some affordable Mexican fare that will leave you in need of a nap. You see there, I could have said cat nap, but I didn't. I was disappointed, however, that there weren't more pork options on the menu, but I made due with my beef and bean tostada. Tostada, I wonder why we've been meeting up like this so much lately. I like you, don't get me wrong, but you're kind of hard to eat, toppings spilling all over my Target wranglers. Regardless, burrito will be pissed when he finds out. Let's just keep this on the hush hush and nobody's feelings will get hurt. Because we both know what happens when burrito gets angry.

I love Adolphs. Whenever I get home to the QC I have to make a stop. Who ever said it's just a little better than Taco Bell, has no clue. They use goats cheese and that makes such a huge difference. Everything they make is fantastic and fresh. The best Mexican restaurant in the Quad Cites, period. Plus it is run by a great family. I miss Louise, she was such a wonderful person and always welcomed you with her pleasant smile.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
