Ok.. We saw this place advertised on THE TRAVEL CHANNEL, and we thought, HEY THERE'S A LOCAL JOINT!! We started out with the mini meatballs appetizer. YUUUUMMM!! Next, we had a cup of chicken and dumplings soup. Thick. But not pasty.. Hearty, and hot. I ordered the chicken marsala as my entrée, and my husband had spaghetti & more meatballs. The chicken was absolutely fantastic! ! It didn't taste frozen or freezer burned. Brown gravy was a bit thicker than what most Marsala sauces should be. But great seasonings & flavor. My husband loved the meatballs. We will be back!!

The food is amazing. I had my bridal shower here in their party room and it went so perfectly. Not a single complaint. The price point was great and the buffet-style food that was set up was SO good we were fighting over the leftovers (there weren't many left!)

Bruschetta pizza is awesome. Meatball sandwich is very good. Calzones are very good. Dessert nuggets are great.

Seriously some of the best eats I ever had. I can honestly say I never had anything that I didn't like and wasn't good. Meatball sandwich, combo sandwich, fat Freddie, wings, pasta dishes, pizza, calzones, wraps, , beer nuggets, etc are excellent. Chris and Dom are wonderful.

This place is kind of hidden , it's inside the strip mall. Good food & good service, can't wait to go back : p

We have have mixed feelings about this restaurant as we had one bad visit out of four total. Tonight helped restore our faith in this establishment. We visited here for half price Calzone's (every Thursday dinner) and were treated to some tasty food and great service thanks to "April." The calzone was so large, the two of us were able to split it and leave room for dessert. Their home made chips and French onion dip we started with are worth the trip alone, and the drinks were fairly priced. We did not enjoy the cannoli; the shell was not sweet enough - but the filling was good. Yet, we will definitely return and try some new dishes again next time!

One of the best restaurants in Midlo for the quality and price! Frequent here generally about once a week and I can't remember ever having something I didn't like. Service is always good and if you leave hungry you're not doing something right! Their breakfast is phenomenal too!

anyone from midlothian knows the best italian food around is bartolinis, keep up the good work. Love the patio out front.

Quite honestly in my experience the food has ranged from "good" (chicken Caesar) to flat out lousy (calamari was like rubber bands). The chicken I ordered most recently would've been excellent had they changed their shortening in recent days... but equally if not even more important as far as I'm concerned is service. I assume it's one of the owners - this guy is flat out arrogant. He has talked to me like I'm A piece of dirt -both in person and over the phone. he seems to have a rapport with other customers but apparently that treatment is reserved for regulars. I guess I'll never know because I'm done with this joint. Some people apparently just don't sense the need to continue to build their business and I guess this guy is one of them.

Let me start by saying I Ordered from this place for over 15 years. I would get the same thing everytime chicken parmigiana. The last 10 or so times I would get it it was burned every time. This time I told them over the phone don't burn it they put don't burn it on the receipt so i get my order and guess what BURNED BLACK like they did it out of spite! Finally I decided I'm just giving my money to them for nothing so now I'm writing this the chicken was burned BLACK! When I called they told me I could drive all the way back and get another one. After I sent a email with picture proof of the black chicken they told me I could have another one. Thought to myself yea you guys can't cook it correctly in the first place little own wonder what you will do too it now. Never again this place lost the ambition they used to put in the food call beggars save you're money. I'll post the pictures if I can.

You don't get better Italian food or service than Bartolini's. The staff here are the nicest bunch of people. Even on busy days, my food always gets brought to my table a lot faster than you might expect, and it's always a delicious meal. The servers are so polite, and the owners even make their way around the dining room to check on the customers and make sure everything is ok. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good bite to eat. I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

Solid southside lunch spot. Heralded for just about everything...sandwiches, pasta, salads, pizza, calzones, MEATBALLS! Freaking melt in your mouth meatballs. Never a sour experience. I'm a big fan of the cavatelli salad w/grilled chicken. Plenty of TV's at the inside bar for your viewing pleasure, new video gaming, and an outdoor patio for the warmer months. Definitely a go-to for your Courthouse lunch hour.

The is only one thing that needs to be said... Thursday Calzone Special. For $8.99, you'll get a huge calzone with cheese and garlic butter and 3 additional toppings of your choice. Their menu is expansive, so be sure to check online for the regular menu and the daily specials menu. Feeling hungry? Try their 10 lb. meatball sub sandwich. Yes. 10 pounds of sandwich. They also have a outdoor patio, indoor dining room and a full bar. The only downfall is that they don't deliver.

This place is awesome!! Chris, Dominic and staff were more than accommodating as my fiance and I planned to have our wedding ceremony and reception at their facility. Only days before our wedding date we got an overwhelming response of guests and had to request a bigger area; which they did without hesitation. The banquet halls are beautiful and the food is absolutely delicious. The fried chicken was the guest's favorite. Thanks to Chris, Dominic and the staff for making our wedding and reception a huge success!!! Bartolini's has to be one of the best kept secrets in the south suburbs....

The outside of the restaurant is totally unassuming in a strip mall next to the DMV. I live half a mile behind this place, drive past it all the time, and never once considered coming here. Then I attended a post-baptism luncheon here, and while I can't speak for the regular restaurant service, I would most definitely look to Bartolini's if I needed to host a shower or other small event. The space was a little cheesy and dated, but I feel like that about 90% of the banquet halls I've been too. Despite this, it still feels very classy in there. The service and wait staff were fantastic! We never waiting long for drink refills. They brought us a bowl of hot water so a friend could warm a bottle. Plates were clearly quickly. I've been to a lot of weddings, baptisms, baby showers, and bridal showers in the last two years, and Bartolini's definitely ranks high when it comes to food. The salad, while heavy on the iceberg lettuce, was crisp and fresh. The mixed veggies were a bit salty, but very well cooked - not overly mushy. The beef was awesome. The potatoes from the sausage and potatoes were delicious. There was also what I think was pasta in vodka sauce. The bite I had was good, but it seemed a little lacking in the pasta department.

Went to Bartolini's on a Sunday and ordered a half off pizza size large, and had it made custom with italian beef and giardiniera hot peppers. The crust was crispy and this pizza just WORKED, it was delicious. I've had their meatball pizza and a few other combinations, and it is some of the best pizza around in Chicagoland. Besides the pizza, I've never had a problem with service or getting a table, and I am always waited on promptly. The breakfasts here are also fantastic, you wouldn't think a pizza/italian place would be a great breakfast spot, but it is... and it's breakfast perfection. I recommend the eggs benedict or any of the pancake or waffle combinations. Come hungry, leave happy. They have added video gaming in the bar area, and there are also TV's where you can watch major local sports events if one happens to be on. Bartolini's has more than excellent food, the service has always been great and they have always addressed any requests as to customize orders as needed - like the italian beef and hot pepper pizza that is not on the menu. The meatball sandwich and the pastas are excellent too, check out the Diablo sauce pasta dishes and always make sure you add at least one meatball, they are absolutely delicious.

Bartolini's is a very nice Italian style Restaurant; Several years ago it used to be like a pizza/hot dog joint or sports bar and they used to serve great hot dogs, pizza, and other food. The menu has since changed, they no longer serve their delicious hot dogs but have made up for it with a regular menu, seating/tables and restaurant service that includes a wide variety of dishes, from dozens of breakfast items in the morning to lunch and dinner items, I like their lunch and dinner menu, they have dozens of plates such as perch, shrimp, over a dozen appetizers like french fries and onion rings, pasta, pizza, desert, sandwiches, burgers, salads, wraps, soup of the day, coffee, beer, wine and beverages plus kids meals, etc. The place is nice, clean, a little dark but ambient, with a friendly staff, the food tastes great and is healthy, restrooms are clean, and their are tables to sit both inside and outside are clean and comfortable with children seating available. There is a TV inside, and some arcade/casino machines and games. I do miss their hot dogs though. Note: Bartolini's is several buildings away from the DMV (both are in a strip mall) in Midlothian, IL in case you have trouble locating it. It has a meatball eating contest for 8 years in a row now.

Overall = love the pizza, food is good, service is meh, bar is terrible. Eat in service and bar lower this rating from 4-5 stars to 3. Which is disappointing because the food is good! Pizza is epic! * Between eating in and take out, this review is based on at least 20 visits over 2 years (mostly take out). * Pizza = 5 stars * Take Out = 5 stars (LOVE that they ask for an ID for a credit card transaction and food is HOT!) * Dine In Service = 2-3 stars (depending on the server) * Owners = 5 stars (nice folks, great village advocates and service is better when Chris is there) * Bar = 1 star (TERRIBLE wine. Beer barely cold. Bartenders awful - Gin and tonic! What do you mean what's tonic? Ug!) * Food other than Pizza = 3 - 4 stars (good for the price/ambiance/service/quantity - not the best but good!)

Went with a party of 10, not that busy. Lighting is poor, service was ok, didn't provide silverware or napkins and refills on drinks were slow. Those that drank coke and lemonade never got refilled. Food did not live up to expectations from previous Yelp reviews. Overall, kind of disappointing.

I got a lot of recommendations from Midlothianites about this plac.e. They have an ample menu. I ordered the closest thing to the signature dish: the meatball sandwich. Normally I am rather generous with my stars - most of my reviews are 4 or 5 stars. But this sauce on my sandwich had a overly sour taste to it. I think I caught them on an off day so hence the 3 stars for now.

I thought that the location was pretty awesome after stressing about my drivers licenses and all the lovely Illinois taxes that were force to pay.I decide to walk in and order a beer and a Buffalo chicken sandwich. My sandwich looks phenomenal stacked high with chicken and buffalo sauce dripping off, looks can be deceiving. I thought wow heart burn city here I come and in some sick way I was looking forward to the heart burn. I get threw half my sandwich and Im not feeling good,I'm under the impression maybe I ate like a cave man and my stomach couldn't take it. Nope I was wrong I ate some bad chicken and ended up in the ER later that night.Stupid sandwich cost me $1600.00 for my ER visit,I couldn't stop throwing up and so please, please beware of the chicken. If it were up to me, Bartolini's wouldn't even get one star from me. By the way I just finished paying that stupid bill. BOOOOOO !

Stopped in for carryout and found the staff to be very helpful. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs after they told me that's what they're known for. While I sat at the bar, I raved about my favorite Italian place in Blue Island and their tiramisu... the bartender must have taken it as a challenge and gave me a serving of Bartolin's tiramisu and told me to come back if I liked it. I've been back twice and each time order the tiramisu! The meatballs were indeed the best I've ever had. The helping size was enough for two meals. I'll be there again soon!

Decent beef sandwich. The flavor is a little lacking, which you can fix by asking them to put garlic butter on your sandwich. The hot giard has plenty of olives in it, but it was way too mild for my tastes. My wife likes that you can get squeeze cheese on it, but that disgusts me personally. I was debating between 3 and 4 stars, but since they require an ID to use a debit card they get 3. Merchant agreements state that they cannot require an ID to make a purchase, and I've reported the violation. Of course I have an ID, I just don't like being treated like a suspected criminal when getting my lunch.

News Flash, I have had BBQ beef all over the country from Kansas City to Detroit, however I just had the BEST BBQ BEEF sandwich ever last Thursday night. Visited Bartolini's after reading an article about them in the local suburban paper. I decided to try their breakfast menu, which the paper raved about. I couldn't decide between the Portabella Mushroom Eggs Benedict & the French Toast, so I got both! It was delicious! I had never had a portabella mushroom with my Eggs Benedict, and it was fantastic. I definitely want to stop by there again if I'm on the South side in the morning again. My friend that went with was tempted to go back the next day with her son...and she lives across the Indiana border!

If your looking for good food then Bartolinis Restaurant is the spot. They have a big selection of food and the chicken dumpling soup is very good. I've seen this restaurant grow over time from a order at the counter to waitress taking orders at the table. I've used their banquet facilities and its first class operation. Nice white linen table clothes, room is clean and atmosphere is comfortable. The do offer catering, and Yes I used them for that too! The potatoes au gratin are to die for. They look bad, but taste sooooooo good.

This place is a hidden gem. Don't let the outside fool you. They prefer to take time in making great food rather than over glamorize the outside. Pizza is great, the meatball sub fantastic. Used the Yelp check in offer and was told we were the first. Freebie dessert was awesome. My only complaint is that I have to drive 20 miles to get here.

Stopped in for a Combo beef to go. It was good. However, the canned green pepper strips are no match for fresh. This place was a little over hyped, and I expected more. My Combo was tasty. The sausage looked a little undercooked (pink) but I'm alive and full. I did see a couple nize lookin Pizzas walk by me while I was waitin, and the people are very friendly and helpful. Just ditch the canned green peppers, fresh is so much better. I'll go back for more.

An oasis in a sea of mediocrity. Bartolini's has great food and a lot of it. The serving sizes are great for what you pay for. I have had various dishes here and they have all been great.

Great food. Great service. Fair prices. While I have not eaten everything on the menu, everything I've eaten has been awesome. The ingredients are always fresh. The service has been excellent as well, Chris and Dom (owners) are always there and the rest of the crew is attentive and friendly. They do a great job taking care of their facility and it's always filled with friendly faces. I would recommend Bartolinis to anyone.

Wow! Sat at the bar for 10 mins and was completely ignored. Then when I tried to get the overworked miserable waitress' attention she rolled her eyes at me and started counting her tips. We had several other waitress' walk by and never bat an eye. Never going back, that's for sure!

Bartolini's has been the go to place for Calzones since I was a kid. Whenever I visit family in Chicago, we stop in for an old favorite. This visit fell on Thursday which is 1/2 price calzone day. Score! The pillow of cheese and pepperoni was just as tasty as I remember.

The first time me and my wife went it was great. We had the sicilian pan pizza and beer nuggets and both were very very good. The last 2 times we went were just awful. The beer nuggets were great but the pizza was just terrible. We got a deep dish and a thin crust and both we couldn't eat. The deep dish crust had NO flavor what so ever and they dusted the bottom with so much cornmeal or flour or something that it had the texture of sand almost. The thin was just as bad, I have had much better frozen pizza. Our daughter who eats almost all pizza didn't even eat more than 2 bites. Don't think we will return, there are much better places on the south side.

This place is great. Found it on yelp searching for places to eat, came on a Sunday afternoon and enjoyed the 1/2 priced pizza. Now I'm hooked. Beer nuggets are an excellent starter. one order is good for 2-3 people, I could eat them as a meal. Pizza here is awesome. I believe it's the best I have ever had. Took extra home, still great! Each time I dined in, the owner I has greeted us and followed up on our experience. Definitely recommend this over any other place in the city or surrounding area.

Wow. Great meataball sandwich. Garlic parm pub fries were excellent. I only did take out, but fast service and excellent counter staff. Nice bar in there as well with Stella on tap. Open Sundays which is nice. Tried the eggplant parm sandwich. Not bad but could use a bit more of a heavy pour on sauce. Loved the hot giardinara. Mine had lots of olives. Cole slaw was good too. Overall an excellent experience. Will be back shortly.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
