A nice place to grab a bite in an extremely small town with few choices, so coming to La Cabana and finding such authentic Mexican food was a treat! We tried the tacos, burrito special, and of course, margaritas! We enjoyed the tacos with pork more than anything!! A must if you find yourself anywhere near Manteno because there is seriously nothing else worth eating for 20 miles!

Never a disappointment! The service is always prompt and friendly. Food is delicious and servings are plentiful. The margaritas are awesome (the watermelon one is super yummy) and go down super smooth! Great place for lunch (they have very reasonably priced lunch specials). The atmosphere is appealing and laid back.

Good food, very authentic. Especially authentic was the wait staff whom with we must have had a language barrier, because a few things that we did not order showed up. Dont get me wrong, they were pretty tasty...I just got the chance to report to the couple sitting next to us that their soup was very good. I usually charge a small fee for tasting others' food. In this case I didnt mind. Good salsa, but felt rushed to order. I dont really like that at all. It does not feel like waitstaff are just being attentive...when we both are still holding up the menu in our faces, we are still reading it. Prices were ok. Not as inexpensive as I would like...but then again you cant eat at taco bell for under eight bucks now...so by that measure, prices are good. I would like to try some less obvious choices here sometime but my food was good. Refried beans were homemade and I gotta give that compliment. Rice was a little on the dark roasted side. The tacos had authentic cheese on them. And the people sitting at the booth behind me? Their soup was exellent.

stopped by for lunch and the server was kind and our food came quickly. the chicken tacos tasted kind of plain but they were good. the horchata tasted fantastic, you could see the cinnamon on the ice but it was a very small glass for two dollars and it was not free refills, they definitely would have gotten more stars if they were more generous. i would come back again but i would order my horchata without ice and probably something different.

They have great food and the service was very helpful. We come here regularly because of both of the above.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
