I drive past this place and never thought it would be so good. Very fast, very good. This will be my new default when I want some a big meal. I even had left overs from last night that were just as good at work today, which say a lot. General Tao, was my order.

I've been coming to Hong Kong Garden for a few years now and it is definetely in my rotation of local lunch spots. The lunch box is a great value (and you can get it at dinner too) and you can easily get two meals out of it. Some of my family's favorites are the Orange Chicken, General Tsao's chicken, Mongolian Beef and Curry beef. The staff are friendly and your order is almost always ready within 10 minutes of placing it (we just pick ours up). Like the other reviewer said, some of the best (if not the best) Chinese food in the Lyons/Brookfield/Berwyn area. The food is flavorful, filling and you get a very large portion size for the price. Definetely check them out.

I order the sesame chicken dinner special with a side of crabragoon. I ordered for take out and only waited 15 min. The chicken was all white meet and had a very tasty sesame sauce. Crabragoon was nice a big and tasty. I will be back next time I'm in the area. The chicken fried rice was on point.

Sorry to put a damper on all the great reviews, but I just couldn't believe what I was served. I ordered some salt and pepper shrimp and it was the worst I've ever had. The shrimp itself was ok---if you a half hour to kill deveining and removing the crusty shells. They actually cooked the shrimp with the shells on and full of veins. Like they scooped them out of the sea, tossed some breading on them and threw them in a pan. I'm not kidding. I've ordered S&P shrimp from a few other places (Fong's in Schiller Park = A+) and NO ONE served them like this. I am still in shock. Crab Rangoon I ordered was pretty good, and based on some reviews I'm sure other dishes are ok, but I'm sorry, I have to give them one star for that so-called shrimp they serve. Ugh.

This place has everything you can ask for out of a neighborhood carry out Chinese food restaurant. The food is great, lunchbox specials are super reasonably priced and you can get them even after lunch. This is by far some of the best Chinese carry out in all of Berwyn and possibly most of the south side. Don't confuse the rating I'm giving Hong Kong Garden as a statement that it is 5 star dining. If you are looking for somewhere to take the in-laws or to have an intimate dinner this isn't it. This is carry out and damn good at it.

Best Chinese food in the area. Flavorful and robust taste in each bite. I make it a point to order here at least once a week. Perhaps my favorite dish from here is the General Tso Chicken. Spicy and crispy, worth every bite. Clean restaurant and the people who run it have never been anything but pleasant. Worth going to.

Best Chinese food your going to get around here in the burbs unless your going to jump on I-55 and go to Chinatown. I recommand the lunchbox lunch special (Yes, you can get it even if its not lunch time). It is well priced and comes with a can of pop but the meal is an extra dollar if bout after 3pm. It comes with one main course of your liking such as orange chicken, a ton of fried rice or white rice, and an egg roll. Overall a great place i give them 4 out of 5 stars only because they have no high chairs lol.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
