It has been quite some time since I have been here last. I used to come with my grandma (busha) when she was alive. Decor & cleanliness- it's a little like going to an old age home dining room. Not a luxury dining establishment. Pretty clean but I did come at noon before the herd of people shuffled in. Drinks- they have em!!! Margaritas, coladas, martinis, wine and beer (polish ones too) are all priced decently ranging from 4.00-just under 10 bux. Refills on sodas, which are Pepsi products. Food- it isn't a huge buffet but they have filling food. Salad bar is decent but I skip that because it isn't a cheap meal and you can have lettuce anywhere. I'm only listing what I eat. Sausage is just okay, so I don't each much of it. They put their sauerkraut on the side so that is great news for people that do not like it. Carved meats are pretty juicy but I skip that and eat the pork loin. The mashed potatoes are alright. The stuffing was a little plain and not how my grandma made hers but with gravy its okay. I really love stuffed cabbage and they make it like my family does. The only difference is that we have sauerkraut in the sauce and use more pepper. On the side by the soups there is bread and honey butter... Get it!! The bread and butter is delicious!! Pierogi- it is soaking in butter, forewarning to cardiac patients. Honestly though, I like mine a little sautéed and crisp but most of the old school polacks I know soak this stuff in butter. Actually everything is loaded with butter more that I think about it. Desserts-- they have an ice cream machine, cake (not homemade), cheesecake (also not), and kolachky (homemade deliciousness) Waitresses- they took the plates quickly and I would be barely finished with a soda and they would bring me another. There are coupons online I think and it would be good to have one. This is what we got--- 2 beers, 1 soda, one loaf of the bread to take home, 2 buffets and it was about $46.00 + our 10.00 tip. The beers were 4.00 each and the bread was either 3.00 or 4.00. For 2 people this was like my hubby and I getting steak. We cannot go out and spend this on a meal out often. Almost everything is homemade and it is not a chain. Still worth it!

We love the old time feel of this place. It's straight from my past! The food rocks too. All the old favorites.

Our server Kristin was wonderful!! I am writing this review based on my husbands polish roots. He felt as if he was at his childhood Sunday dinner table. He did not eat the desserts. I thought the food was ok. The place was busy and clean.

Oh the Warsaw Inn- another favorite of mine and a must stop whenever I come home for a weekend visit. I'm part Polish, and the only place that can recreate anything even remotely similar to my Grandma's Polish cooking is this place. Yeah, it's a buffet- but you'd never know it once you sit down with that steaming pile of food on your plate. Other reviewers have listed what you'll find on this buffet- but my perfect plate consists of all 4 types of pierogis, sauerkraut mixed into my mashed potatoes, a couple sausage links, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes piled as high as the eye can see and a slice of their bread with sweet butter. Carb overload! And that's just the meal portion of this folks- make sure to head back up for a separate plate full of delicious desserts. Potato chip cookies and kolacky with a side of blintzes please! I too am in love with the accordion player here. He's quite fabulous and it just adds to the cheesy interior, overboard wallpaper and framed prints and dining tables here. It really feels like you're in someones house and not a restaurant. The prices are reasonable- it's usually around $16 bucks, but you can always get coupons when you pay your bill. Hold on to those- they are definitely worth their weight in gold.

Where Polish food is concerned this is the place to go. Yes it's a buffet, and yes it can be a bit pricey for the average family, but if your looking for a real family feel, and some awesome food, then this is the place to go. When you first walk in this place, your first impression may not be a great one. The decor is dated, and the tables close together. If you go on a weekend evening, it will probably feel a bit over crowded. The food and the service so worth overlooking the visual flaws. The food is great, never mind that it's all you can eat, which lately seems to mean lower quality as well, that is not the case here. What you get here is real home cooked goodness. There's great traditional Polish flair, sausage, blintz, pirogis, stuff cabbage, etc. Highly recommend the cheese pirogis for a dessert option. Then there's always some other favorites as well, on Saturday nights the special is BBQ ribs, I urge you to give these fall off the bone sweet sauce ribs a try, they are tasty. The choices are endless and the best part, always something for everyone.

The food was better than expected for a buffet. The food was very authentic. I'd definitely go back again, not not after drinking at the bar.

Not high quality food, but definitely above average buffet food. Tastes homemade. Went on rib night and they had good texture and flavor. We also enjoyed the perogis and cheese blintz. Waitress was pleasant and attentive.

haha I stumbled across this in flipping through other reviews- I can't remember if its all that great or not, as I haven't been here in years, but its my Polish grandma's favorite place, so that has to say something right? I mean hell, she has cooked Polish food her whole life and really likes their stuff. Of course I'd recommend my grandma's kitchen over a Polish restaurant . . . mmmmm homemade pierogi and kolaczki. . .

The food is great, especially for a buffet. The dining room is pretty big, though very old-looking and dated, so I'm sure you'd be able to get in pretty quickly. Foods I had included the stuffed cabbage, cream of mushroom soup, chicken soup, couple periogis, fried chicken, and I literally forgot the rest of the other dishes I had.

Worst experience I have ever had here today. Food was cold & flavorless, asked for more , chicken & the buffet lady was very rude... only positive my bestie works there.

This place is amazing! Comfort food at its finest with homemade bread and honey butter, home made soups, and dear GOD the mushroom and sauerkraut pierogi. Their kraut on its own is delicious, and their meat and side selection is always yummy. This place is honestly one of a kind this far from downtown and every time I have a new favorite. Their American-style specials are great and their traditional polish is even better. The pickiest eaters will find something here and the thrill-seeking, "try anything" foodies can taste the jellied fish (too hardcore for me).

The Warsaw Inn is what you'd call an institution. It is the finest Polish smorgasbord in Chicagoland. Make a pilgrimage.

Polish food is great and what better way to try all your polish favorites then with a buffet. My friend Steve and his family love this place. He invited me and my finance along for an pre-easter dinner with them at the Warsaw Inn. I was glad I mad the trip with him. Would I go back I think so, but it is definitely something that you can't eat all the time.

Went here for a family dinner a few nights ago. The food was average. Fried chicken extremely dry, pierogi's swimming in butter. My family and I have been coming here periodically for years and the quality of the food has declined. Service was and always has been warm and friendly.

I've been here a couple times, its good. I like my pierogi pan fried vs steamed and/or boiled but it hits the spot. They have original polish foods with soups such as sauerkraut, cream of mushroom, cabbage and you cant find those anywhere else. Salads, pierogis, potatoe pancakes, kolach, blintzes, cabbage rolls, roast beef, home made croutons, delicious broasted/fried chicken, fried fish, ribs, salsbury steak, etc. All while eating, you are serenated by an accordianist. NOTHING says polish more than that!!! Much to my dismay, the only thing missing was the noodles. I really love to put my noodles and mashed potatoes together. Give this place a go and if you arrive before 5 you can get the early bird special, no matter your age. :)

This evening we had dinner at Warsaw again. The food was good until we got to the desserts. Just like the last time we visited, they were old/stale. The cheesecake & marble cake tasted like they had been in a freezer. They were not edible. On our last visit, the potato chip cookies also tasted bad. But strangely enough, the ones I purchased to bring home tasted fresh & yummy. What gives? I complained to the waitress, but she didn't pass on my complaint because the boss was near a customer & she didn't want to the customer to hear. I'm hoping you do something to fix this problem & stop pushing off less then fresh product to your customers. I'm not sure that I will return or recommend any of my friends to either. You may have lost a long time customer. .

Arrived for dinner at 4:00 which made me and my family in titled to the early bird special a dollar off each of our meals. We were the first to eat from the buffet the beef looked dry so we knew it was left over from the day before. I bit in to a chicken thigh and it smelled and was spoiled. On my way home I notice we were not charged correctly. When I call she informed me that we were not given the early bird special, so she is going to mail me the difference.

Having been here a few times the one thing I can attest to is that the experience is always consistent. I am particularly fond of their soups and rolls, as well as their blintzes and stuffed cabbage. The Roast Beef carving station is at the end of the buffet and is very good, hot hot and super juicy. That being said, it could definitely stand to be a bit more flavorful, not bad though. Surprisingly, for a Polish buffet the pierogi's were not my favorite item. Yes they were fresh, hot and pretty tasty, but the exorbitant amount of buttery liquid they were surrounded in was enough to make me pass on a second serving. The sausages they have are okay but nothing too special, saurkraut was meh, I'm used to German style kraut and to me this was just to... IDK gelatinous and thick. Salads and Desserts - Salad Bar portion of the buffet is pretty decent. It's a small section and they do try to get as much on there as they can. You've got the standard toppings, i.e. olives, eggs, carrots, cucumber etc. but there's also pickled herring - I LOVE pickled herring! For desserts, they've got a nice selection of cookies, little single serving cakes and all the fruity Jell-o you could want alongside Kolaczki, Poppy Seed Rolls and PÄ…czki (sometimes). Service is standard for a buffet, meaning they'll come around on occasion and ask if you need another drink as they clear your plate. Sometimes though... it takes 'em a little while to get around to you. If you'd like to take some food to-go they charge per pound. Price varies per pound depending on what you're taking - meat is more than say pierogi's or cookies. All in all, it's a good Polish buffet, it's also the only one that I know of around here that's still up and running. I'd go back, it's not the BEST Polish food I've had but it's A-OK in my book. Oh BTW, there's also a coupon they give you with your bill. The sooner you come back, there higher the percentage you get off your next meal.

I have been coming here since they opened as we used to live just down the street. I can tell you everything is homemade. It is very authentic and usually had decent traffic flow. Over the years the quality has remained incredibly consistent and it has been the standard bearer for polish buffets... I judge all others by my experiences here. Polish food is not spicy, non fattening, or low caloric in any way. With that in mind, one does not expect to come here and be bowled over by over spiced cafeteria food. What you will find here is an incredible variety of food at an exceedingly fair price. They also vary the buffet offerings throughout the week, this allows for variety when you do live down the street. This place is a must try, especially for the area.

I have been wanting to come here for years. Mother of Pearl, was I missing out. The place is nothing to look at. Inside and out. When I walked in I saw the buffet line in front of me and I immediately knew I had stumbled into something good. We were seated and the server told us that everything was homemade. We were brought our drinks and we were off to the races. Wow! Roast beef and ham I had to skip as I ate a 22oz prime rib the day before. But the fried chicken was crispy and juicy! The creamed cucumbers and pierogi swimming in butter. I had the meat and cheese. The stuffed cabbage in red sauce, stuffing and real mashed potato's. Roasted pork and turkey breast in gravy. Potato salad, slaw and homemade sausage. Those are the samplings I ate. I wanted to try the tomato rice soup, but I got a bowl of ice cream and brownie with a side of fried chicken. They have much more including a large salad line. I am very typical when I eat. But today I had to branch out as it all looked so delicious and the place was spotless to boot.

We arrived there at 4:30 pm on a saturday, it was already crowded. Small dining area, you rub elbows with the people in the next table. You have to zig zag around tables to get to the buffet. Pricey, $14 plus drinks for adults on weekends, they even charged me for my 1 year old, he payed a $1.50, most buffets don't charge under 2. Mostly cold dishes, limited choices for hot food. The sauercraut was mushy like applesauce. The pierogi's were ok, nothing special. Overall, the food is fresh, but they could offer more choices for the buck.

Polish buffets are as rare these days as GMO labeling on packaged food. This defies logic since American waistlines keep expanding and pierogi's are great for girth. Amazing Polish buffets, on the other hand, are practically extinct. Some dishes here could be much better while many are just fine. I agree with other reviewers and don't understand why so much of their food is submerged in buttery water. Anyway, their sausage is awfully bland, the fried chicken is passable but the soup, ribs and service excel. Some nights they even have a real live accordion player...I know this because I pinched him to be certain. All things considered, this place does warrant your visit. I've eaten here about 5 times and I'm never terribly disappointed...that said, I never leave too excited either.

I like this place because it isn't too big and you can get in and out. The price is very good for a buffet and they have prime rib. Good assortment of other foods and desserts. On the Saturday that we went, there was an old fella playing polkas on a keyboard.

Was here earlier today and it was freakin great as always. Best potato pancakes and blueberry pierogis for the summer! Staff friendly and accommodating as always! Never a bad experience here.

I have wanted to try Polish food for years, & tried Czerwone Jabuszko (Red Apple), which was alright. Going to Warsaw Inn was even better. The food is made from scratch (unlike the national buffet chains), & made Polish style. I've only been there on Sundays, & I like the turkey & gravy, stuffing, sliced ham, potato pierogi, potato pancakes, & apple blintzes. Chicken noodle soup seems to be offered every Sunday, but the other soup changes. For dessert, they have paczki, kolaczki, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, and many other desserts. The place could be updated as they've been in business since 1980. Otherwise, it's a great place to eat, as long as you like Polish food. It is however small, compared to other buffet restaurants, & not located near any major businesses. Because the place is small, reservations are recommended for large groups, along with any holidays they're open for business. Lastly, they're only open for dinner.

This is the place to go for quality food. You can taste the labor that goes into their cooking. I've been coming here regularly for several years despite the 45 minute drive. In a world where buffets are usually so long you can barely see the end, this one seems very tiny. But as you make your way through the sea of old people and the sights and smells of their Polish cuisine hit you, your plate is piled sky high by the end of the line. To be honest, I've never tasted the remarkable looking roast beef and ham being carved at the end of the line because I've never had room on my plate. I don't know how they do it, but nothing has ever tasted like buffet food - ever. It all has that fresh-from-the-oven taste only mothers can perfect. The regulars on the buffet are sauerkraut and sausage, fried chicken, four different pierogies, stuffed cabbage, potato pancakes, blintzes, etc. Throughout the week you will find roast duck, fried perch, potato dumplings, pork chops, fried shrimp, catfish, lasagna, liver and onions, chopped steak, pork loin, turkey and dressing. Please don't make me pick a favorite. The soups are amazing (even the dill pickle soup, oddly enough), and the fresh warm bread and sweet butter is so good it will make you cry. Even the kidney bean salad and pickled herring is great. Am I really enjoying pickled herring? How can this be? The waitstaff is great. I've seen the same waitresses there for over ten years. You're bound to see the lovely amazonian Kris working there. One of the best waitresses I've ever encountered, and to our delight, I don't think she's taken a day off since my first trip there. I've heard they frown on people leaving a large amount of unfinished food on their plates, but you'll never have to worry about that. You'll be licking the crumbs off your tablecloth.

When I was growing up my family always came here for special occasions. I'm not the biggest fan of Polish food, even though I'm part Polish, but they always had something good to eat! I'm feeling nostalgic thinking about it and can picture this place fondly even though I haven't been here in many years. I wonder if they still charge you for leaving un-eaten food on your plate. As a kid I was always terrified and made my choices carefully or would sneak my un-eaten food on my brother's plate. :)

If you like Polish food, I demand you go here. It's a full featured Polish buffet, and yes, it's a bit on the pricey side if you're used to sub-$10 buffets, but worth every penny of it. For around $16 a plate, you can gorge yourself on plenty of delicious Polish fare, including totally hand-made fresh pierogies. When I went, there were plenty of things to choose from, including a few dishes I had never heard of. Pickle soup was featured, and I have to say it was surprisingly good. If you're in the area, love stuffing yourself, and have money to spend, check this place out.

Hello, food snob here. I am not a big fan of buffets except Warsaw Inn. Ususally buffets have low quality food but not this one. You can tell everything is home made. And probably made by old polish women. The hand carved Roast Beef and Ham were excelent. Everything on the spread was good including sausage and pierogi's. Its hard to find a good pierogi these days. The best pierogi I have had is at the Saint John Evangalist Churh fair in July( saint john in.). Unfortunately thats only 1 weekend a year. Oh by the way you will leave stuffed in a good way.

Polish buffet homemade enough said. Wow! This place is not much too look at outside or in but it does not matter as the food is delicious. Just like mom and grandma used to make. I tried a little bit of everything. Roast beef was very good, polish sausage was out of this world good, kraut was different but good, stuffed cabbage rolls, meat pierogi, cheese or apple blintzes, kidney bean salad. After round one I went back for the polish, cabbage and pierogi and chased it down with cheese blintzes. Great food, friendly service a must stop if you are around or worth the trip.

Only place I ever ate at in my life that gave me food poisoning, worst experience ever, landed me in the hospital. Would never trust to eat here again. Will never forget it. Place should be sued and shutdown.

EVERYTHING WAS SWIMMING IN GREASE ! This place is a sorry excuse for a polish buffet. It was literally the worst polish food I have had in a long time. While the food was plentiful it was all swimming in grease and there was nothing that was good except for the Kolacky at the end, but to pay $13.95 for one good Kolacky is a travesty. Here is the breakdown- fried chicken- had an odd aftertaste, polish sausauge- had a thick skin on it that wasn't edible, sauerkraut- full of grease and real watery, pierogis- all of them were swimming in grease and falling apart because of that, stuffed cabbage roll- full of rice and had a bad flavor, fish fillet- wasnt' cooked all the way through and was pink inside. It didn't matter what I tried it was all horrible and can't recommend this place nor will I ever be back. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

The food is good, the service, not so much. When I'm at a restaurant, I don't like having to ask the waitress/waiter for a refill after they've been to my table several times. Service is essential to a restaurant and that's why this is eatery gets 2 stars from me, despite the food being very good.

  • Merrill N.

One of my favorite restaurants in the area. I can barely walk when I leave. And then I have to recline the car seat because even sitting hurts. That's what I get for eating 4 plates of delicious Polish food. Either wear stretchy pants or don't be a disgusting pig like me. Another note: if it's icy or snowy, driving out may be challenging due to the steep driveway.

The food is pretty good, tastes very home made. I go there when I want to get home made food and not want to cook it myself . Not the best food ever but pretty darn good.

Been going here since I was a baby. All the food is good. They have all the traditional Polish foods you can think of not to mention homemade soup and bread, and great desserts. Each person will cost around 13 bucks. Worth travling to.
