Have eaten at the one downtown, so we know the food is good. But the hostess at this place was rude enough that we just left before ever sitting down.

Very delicious burger and oysters. We sat at a table in the bar area and enjoyed our time there just before a movie. Good drinks too!

Most expensive asparagus ever! Went with a group and ordered 2 side dishes of asparagus with hollandaise for $8.95 thinking it would be enough to share. Wrong! 6 spears per dish. That's $1.50 each! What a rip-off. Stick with the broccoli.

Tonight was my first time and very impressed. I have driven past the Westin Hotel but never been in Harry Carays!! I have really been missing out. They have a huge bar area, private dining and the best part is the out door lounge. Not the front few patio seats you can see from the parking lot. On the side of the bar there is another patio. This patio has a fire pit, heaters, 4-top seating and my favorite, the lounge seating. Great for a group of friends who want a lounge and feel classy. Tonight I was there with Sam Adams doing a promotion. We were giving out Sam Boston Lager, Sam Summer Ale, and the new Traveler Beer Co- Illusive grapefruit wheat beer. The food looked great, I had a few bits of the mini corn dogs, calamari, fried ravioli and bruschetta. Can't wait to come back and try more! The best part of the nice lounge patio... ITS DOG FRIENDLY!! Yup!! Feel free to bring your pooch to lunch or dinner!!!

I called this restaurant on New Year's Eve and I was told they were full and couldn't take reservations. I went on open table to find somewhere else and saw I was able to make a reservation on the app, which I did but it out a sour taste for the restaurant already. When I got there, half of he place had empty tables! It gave us the vibe of it not really being a happening place. I ordered a fillet, which I didn't think was anything special. My boyfriend had a pork chop which he said was the greatest he's ever had in his life! The server was very nice.

The tea was okay. It's tazo tea, so what can you expect. They had yummy potato fries.

Horrible horrible horrible. My friends & I were in on a Friday night. A conference of 900+ people was in full swing. Tell me this place isn't used to these conditions! It was busy but nothing crazy. Our server, well, she was a special child of God. (I'm being nice) All the food came except for my bowl if soup. Did we have napkins & utensils? If course not. Utensils got there for everyone but me. My soup finally came. I thought I was going to have to pick up the bowl & slurp. My friends said no tomato on their burgers. Yeah.....there they were - pretty red slices in top of the minimal lettuce. (They wanted extra lettuce & raw onion. Did they get onion? Not a snowballs chance in hell!) I said I'd eat the tomatos. Well, here comes their inions with, you guessed it - tomatos. We put the tomatos on a saucer but was there room on the tabke for that saucer? You guessed it! Another friend was holding his salad in one hand & eating with the other. It looked like a true filipino picnic. The server comes by asking if everything was ok. I raised my tomato plate hand up & down. My friend holding his salad looked at her. She turned & left. Special chikd of God. As hash browns & mashed potatos (both which were meh) were finished, I was putting plates ketchup mustard salt & pepper on the ledge next to me where they remained for the duration of the meal. I had the Italian Wedding soup. The broth & veggies were ok but the meatballs - I do believe dog food has more flavor. I had a bite of the chicken avocado salad that my friend was holding onto. Nothing exciting. Bland actually. My burger friends wanted a glass of semi sweet red wine. Special child of God mumbled something in Klingon. I asked what that was & she said it was a blend. I asked what was in the blend only to get a reply once again un Klingon. Upon sipping Klingon wine, we discovered it was one shade away from a Chianti. Special child of God. I vowed never to step foot in this place again & give it a one star however... Lunch the next day. Burger friends are starving & there's really no where to go in our time frame. They ordered burgers again & with much repetition, they got their lettuce & onions - no tomato. They also ordered a paata dish that was pretty sad so tjat was sent back. I ordered clam chowder & spinach salad. Soup was quite good as was the salad. Our poor server was doing everything he could to make us happy. He was a darling & because that meal & him, I'm giving this place 2 stars. I'd still rather never go back.....

great location, fine decoration, unreasonable price, mediocre taste. update: Dine-in again for lunch. (Again, location means everything) A spaghetti and small slice of "steak" cost me 50 dollar. The steak is under-seasoned and spaghetti is the typical one that you could get anywhere.

My fiance had eaten at another location of Harry Caray's and raved about it so we decided to visit here on our "fancy date night". We went on a Sunday evening and were seated immediately. The menu is pretty large and with Holy Mackerel right next door, there are good choices of steak and seafood. We decided to go with the prix fixe dinner menu for 2. Which included a ton of food. We had salad, appetizers and a main course, as well as dessert. Seriously when I was done eating there was enough for two more meals. The prime rib I ordered was fantastic and was cooked just to my liking. Our server and everyone else that stopped by our table was very friendly and heeded all my requests. This was a pricier than usual date night for us but I hope we can come back for other special occasions.

On a mission to taste local Chicago specialities, I met up with one of my friends at Harry Carray's in Lombard. We started off with shrimp de jonghe, followed by a Ceaser salad with anchovies (my first try!) and Chicken Vesuvio. The shrimp is a casserole shrimp blanketed in soft, garlicky, sherry-laced bread crumbs. It has the oldest pedigree of Chicagoan cuisine, having originated in the late 19th or early 20th century at DeJonghe's Hotel and Restaurant, 12 E. Monroe St. (1899-1923). This was not on the menu but I asked the waitress and she had the chef make up a couple for us. They aren't cheap, about $12+ each I believe, and small, but I was mostly in it for the experience. Chicken Vesuvio, another specialty of Chicago, is an Italian-American dish made from chicken on the bone and wedges of potato, celery, and carrots; sauteed with garlic, oregano, white wine and olive oil, then baked until the chicken's skin becomes crisp. The dish is often garnished with a few green peas for color. In Chicago, one also often finds the technique applied to other foods, like "steak Vesuvio," "pork chops Vesuvio" or even just "Vesuvio potatoes." This dish was good. Very hearty. The sauce very good. Sadly, I was too full and very tired to really enjoy it! Overall, I had a lovely dinner. The shrimp was very strong, the sauce great for dipping in bread. The anchovies were way to salty. The service, splendid. The meal was pricey but not bad for three courses and a drink. As far as parking, I had no trouble. I did have to park in the lot right by it and walk up a little hill but there were plenty of spaces.

Why do you hire idiots? You have great food but the buffoons you hire are unreal. I had to make dumbo understand my order. I stay at this hotel a lot. I won't be back. Booooooo!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food and service is. Maybe it's because we have tortured ourselves with Millers for the last couple years until we looked out the window and saw the Harry Carays sign thru the trees. Edgar

Burger Bar menu option is GREAT, will be back for another salmon burger soon. All of the food we ordered was delicious. The salads were very fresh.e Service was alright, could have been better. Our server looked like he was too through with life at the time - I don't blame him, serving must get to be a pain after a while - at the time it didn't bother me too much, but I can see how it would bother others. Bar was cool, we had to sit there while waiting for the rest of our party and had a few drinks. The larger issue I had with the restaurant was with seating. It seemed as if there was a whole section of the restaurant very much free but they refused to seat all of us until our whole party had arrived. We were literally waiting on one more person, but they would not seat us - We had a party of 7 and it was almost 10:00pm.

This review is basically for the bar. We came here on St. Patrick's day because we were staying at the hotel. We entered what we thought was the bar through the hotel. Sat down at one of the round tables in the bar area and waited. Ten minutes later we were told that we were actually seated in Holy Mackerel which was closed and to continue through to Harry Caray's. Fine, all those people sitting at the bar at Holy Mackerel and the tables surrounding us must've just been finishing up for the night. Really wish it hadn't taken 10 minutes to tell us, but whatever. So on to Harry Caray's we went, seated ourselves at the bar and looked over the menu. It being St. Patrick's day, I was in the mood for something minty or green(corny, I know). I asked the bartender if she could recommend anything like that or possibly do a mint chocolate martini. She looked very confused about the whole notion so it was just a Blue Moon for me. We ordered the antipasto plaster, which came out strangely warm but generally tasted pretty good. It was huge, worth the price, and the presentation on the butchers block was neat. The most frustrating part was the wait between getting the check and the bartender picking it back up. 35 minutes. It was St. Patricks day, but the bar was not even busy. The 2 bartenders and 1 waitress were in a heated debate over "who ordered the 2 glasses of Limoncello?!" I do so enjoy some good dinner theater, but that was not what we signed up for that evening. Our subtle attempts at getting someone, anyones attention failed miserably. We eventually were able to pay our bill, but 35 minutes was just too long. I'd possibly maybe try the restaurant in the future, but I'll be avoiding the bar.

This is a review for a wedding reception we attended at Harry Caray's. Saturday night we were fortunate enough to attend a wonderful wedding reception at Harry Caray's and it was quite the event. I felt like we were really more at the Westin Hotel but the room was named the Harry Caray room so there you have it. There were luscious appetizers being passed and after the server would move on another one would magically appear just to collect your napkin and toothpick. I have never experienced that level of service before at a wedding. The lines flowed smoothly at the bar, there was a coat check and the tables were nicely spaced from each other. The woman in charge kept the reception flowing in a celebratory way but still, kept it flowing. We had a fantastic asparagus salad, perfect filet mignon and even a sorbet to cleanse our palate. If you are looking for a place for a wedding, I would check this venue out. We all remarked what a nice reception it was. Cheers to the bride and groom for choosing such a great location!

Sit at the bar. Nothing happens after that... I didn't know I was invisible. I guess that's their thing ignore new customers in an empty bar.

Today after a meeting in Park Ridge, my wife and I drove to Yorktown Shopping Center. We went to Holy Mackarel Harry Carey seafood restaurant. It was lunch time, so there was not a large crowd. We were greeted and seated immediately. The waitstaff didn't take long to service us. We had a duo of severs, as one was tagging along doing training. There were no specials but the waitress helped to highlight some popular items. We chose for appetizers, the Brie/crab dip and fried calamari. The Brie dip was under seasoned and bland, so the waitres took it back. We replaced it with the jumbo crab cake. The jumbo crab cake with horseradish sauce was a major highlight as it was seasoned wonderfully. It was pan fried but not greasy. A wonderful garnishment accompanied the appetizer with water cress, mix of Macintosh and Granny Smith apples, and a lemon olive oil delicately drizzled in it. An A+ in my book. The main course ordered was an Atlantic salmon with a red potato hash (red potato, cream sauce with small shrimp). A fancy name like hash, I was expecting more salmon for the price, the taste was good. I ordered a shrimp rock risotto, a creamy dish. It was a good risotto outisde of two things that I couldn't really enjoy. The shrimp was not deveined and for the price, it should have been larger and deveined. The second issue I had with the risotto was an herb that I believe was saffron. It was an overpowering taste. I didn't like it but was afraid to send it back. The waitress was gracious.

I walked in 20 minutes before they closed. Glancing at the menu, I saw the prime rib in a 16 oz cut. Since it was so late, I thought they either wouldn't have anymore or it wouldn't be any good. They don't cook prime ribs all night so I was waiting for the "no more" response. To my surprise, they had it and was able to give it to me in a nice Medium rare. The prime rib was tasty and right temperature. The horseradish sauce was just enough punch to it but not over powering. I had also ordered their shrimp cocktail. 5 pieces of very large shrimp that is snappy and not over cooked or too watery. Overall, the service was very good and fast (maybe they wanted to close). Food was good and nice portion sizes.

Holy Cow. The creme brulee is great. HH here is solid. For Happy Hour, they have beer specials in the bar area. Great location in the Westin. THe service here is poor. Reminds me of Dick's Last Resort except its not a joke. THe burger bar is the way to go for food- plan to share.

Have been here several times and it has been solid in the past. Tonight - I think the b-team was working tonight. Dinner at 730 on Sunday night at bar. Waitress needs a lesson in table side manners. Oysters Rockefeller were the size of poker chips and they lacked flavor. The fried calamari - either the oil was too old or they were overdone, most likely both. Ordered the tall grass beef burger and wife ordered the filet. Same thing - filet was nothing impressive, which is very disappointing for a high-end steakhouse. Burger was good. Really was looking for some flavor. Should have bought steaks at home and grilled. Next time...

Eh... Had lunch here during Lombard Restaurant week and I must say that I was NOT impressed. I feel like they could have done so much better, I mean, they had potential and kind of blew it. We walked in and there was no hostess to seat us. I spotted a busboy and asked if he could get someone for us, so he did. The waitress asked where we wanted to sit, so we told her outside. After that, service was pretty good. They have really nice outside seating, the restaurant inside was filled with dark wood tables and a very nice bar. Very classy. Anywho, onto the food. I had a Caesar salad and Chicken Vesuvio. No no no no...on all degrees. The Caesar salad was just wrong, I think it was homemade and it just tasted too fishy (too much anchovies). On to the Chicken Vesuvio: the chicken was dry and I didn't like the way the peas were just thrown on there. I think they could have at least tried for a nicer presentation and brought all the flavors together. It just tasted like cooked chicken with a side of peas. No flavor at all. The waitress was very attentive and made sure we had refills at all times since we chose to sit outside in the beautiful sunny weather. Will I check it out again? Maybe, but not by choice I don't think.

I was in Chicago on business this week and this was my go to place for a drink and dinner for two nights. The staff was great! bartenders were attentive and poured great drinks, it was clean and had plenty of tvs with every game on, not too loud but warm and friendly The Burger was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and fresh veggies, smoky bacon and REAL "artificial" American Cheese! The fries were also cooked great and well seasoned The problem was dinner night 2 the Wedge Salad fell a little short, or a LOT short really, the Blue Cheese dressing was lacking flavor and there were not enough tomatoes, All als All it was a really good place and the Staff was a big part, good job management Chef Glenn

I had my wedding here and everything was truly incredible. It's hard to know where to start! First off, Kristen (the catering manager) was amazing. Every step of the way, she was communicative, flexible, accommodating, and warm. We had some tough special requests and she really went the extra mile to make sure our guests were taken care of. One of our guests fell ill the night of the wedding, and Kristen hand delivered their entree in a takeout box to their hotel room. She was incredible! The waitstaff was impeccable. They were so attentive and professional! Yes, it is expensive, but you truly get what you pay for in this case. It was like a well oiled machine! And the bartenders were so sweet and funny! Small things like that add up to one wonderful experience. AND THE FOOD. Holy cow the FOOD. You know "wedding chicken"? Rubbery, tasteless, bland --- well, this was NOT that. The food was outstanding. Everyone raved about it, from soup to entrée. How they managed to serve 120 people hot food at the same time, *on time*, is beyond my understanding, but they did! Beautiful space, professional staff, and delicious food --- that's all anyone could ask for! If anyone has more questions or wants more details, message me!

Hands down the worst dining experience of my life. Never before was I made to feel more out of place at a restaurant. The service was terrible, the management was a joke, and the food should have been in the garbage a week earlier. It's a hipster, snob appeal, laugh of a restaurant. Yelp needs to allow users to give restaurants no stars.

I was here for lunch with business peeps since the conference was right in the Westin. Good service and nice to see a burb spot have outside dinning. The food though was just lackluster. I had the chicken cesar wrap and it was seriously mostly lettuce, to the point that I think maybe they ran out of chicken. My biz partner had the same and his was also lacking. I would likely take a short drive up the street if I ever found myself at the Westin again.

After a debate over a few other steak houses in the area I settled on here due to the variety on the menu. The 3 stars & reviews weren't phenomenal about this location, but I love to give things a shot for myself. Ambiance was great, service was good. We ordered the Holy Cow burger w/all the fixings. It was prepared to perfection. My husband loved it. I had the 8 oz filet & it was cooked perfectly also. The chef threw in a side of pasta with marinara & the bread just melted in your mouth. Finishing deal were the glasses of wine on Sale for $5 a Tuesday special. This was our Anniversary dinner so I'm ecstatic that we were pleased & didn't have one complaint. We'll definitely be back!!!

Well, we've been back a couple times in the last 5 years, but it's probably time to update my review... First the good news. the food is good. Steaks are prime and a pretty good size, tuna crudo was good, seafood stew was good. Now, the bad news -- it is overpriced -- $50 for an ala carte steak in Lombard is just silly. Next, there are little quirks to the service. Teaspoons instead of soup spoons. Regular bar glasses served with a $100 bottle of Petite Syrah. Very limited beer menu, with a huge emphasis on Anheuser-Busch products, like Bud, and Goose Island. Pricey wine by the glass -- topping out at a $22 glass of cab. Yikes! Overall, there are other options in this price range that pay better attention to the details, like stopping to ask if the steak was done properly, or giving you a plate for the empty shells from your seafood stew. TIP: You can order off the Holy Mackerel (seafood) menu as well...

We celebrated my brother's 25th wedding anniversary with him, his wife and Mom. The restaurant is located in the Westin Hotel. We liked the look of the place and the service was top notch. The food was quite good. My sister - in - law and I split the special surf and turf special. It is by far the best deal in the place. We got salad, a choice of steak entrees (we both had prime rib) and a seafood entree (we both had crab cakes), shared 2 generous sides and each got a dessert. It came to 99 dollars. Well worth the money. The food the others had was also quite good. The music that played in the background was Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louie Prima, etc. Perfecto! I enjoyed Harry Caray's alot and would love to go back sometime, probably for lunch, to save a bit of money. It is fairly expensive, at least for my budget.

Called and talked to Rebecca about the bus to Bears games. She was super helpful. Stopped in there before we got on the bus and met Rebecca..once agin, super nice. Got some things to go like bottled water, sausages, and bagel for the bus trip. They left out the water, sausage was cold and the bagel was 2-3 days stale. After the Bears game, we thought we would stop for dinner there. Server was great!! But to charge what they do for kids meals and burgers are ridiculous!! My daughters hot dog had not been cooked, but microwaved. The bun was hard...stale hard. We asked for avocado on the burger and got 2-3 tine slivers of avocado. We told the server and she got the manager. They got my daughter anohter plate but guess what?? Same hot dog but microwaved again and a brand new bun....but once again...stale and hard. Lettuce was brown and wilted on the burgers, they still had the core on the tomato, it was still green too by the way, and the manager never checked back with us. They took $25 off the check but why didn't they check back with us?? To screw up the to-go order and then to screw up a dinner in the bar, I don't know what to think. When Grant DePorter opened the first one downtown, Harry's was the best. I have seen food quality drop at this palce. No good

I picked up a take out meal for here while I was staying at the Westin next door. I ordered the 12 oz filet and the bacon cheddar twice baked potato. It was fairly obvious that the person taking the order ( the hostess most likely)) knew little about the menu and less about taking phone orders. I had to explain filet "mignon " to her and she never even asked me how I wanted it cooked. Then she said she'd call me when it was ready. I was skeptical so after 30 minutes I went down to check on my steak. I told her I was staying at the hotel, so obviously had no way of heating up my meal if it sat on the counter. Sure enough, it was sitting on the hostess stand when I went down. I had fairly low expectations at that point. The steak was cooked medium well and was still pretty juicy, so I was pleasantly surprised. However it did have quite a bit of fat on it, not something I was expecting on a $47 entree. Still, it was tasty albeit a little cold by the time I got up to my room. Unfortunately, they messed up on the potato, it was just a plain baked potato with no bacon or cheddar cheese and it was undercooked as well. Turns out it was massive and I didn't finish it. All in all, it was just ok. Doesn't seem like they try too hard for phone orders, which you expect more of an effort given the prices. You might have better luck in the dinning room.

Food is really good but the service sucks. You would think for as much as we spend on company events at this location, they would be a little more accommodating and have a better attitude. I feel like as soon as they see our group, they become annoyed. I hope we never have to go back.

A fun bar with some very generous drink specials. Three dollars for Sam Adams draft is practically a steal. The atmosphere is casual and it's ideal for a quick bite or dinner if you're staying at the westin. We had the antipasti plate with drinks and ate at the bar. The barkeeps offered a great service and were courteous and efficient. The plates we saw heading to other tables looked very generous in terms of serving size.

I haven't reviewed in a while, mostly because the income level has not matched the passion level of trying new restaurants. This is the the type of adversity you have to overcome as a student teacher. After attending a Bulls game (thanking my aunt for the free tickets by the way), we decided to drive home and get out of the parking lot of the UC as fast as we could. Traffic sucks just as much as cavity fillings or junk mail so anyway you can avoid those things is a positive. We sat down in the bar on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowded since it was already 10 PM. There was some 40 something trying to make an impression on another 40 something at the bar, it was quite funny. They were talking about work and how they hate their co workers. Nothing like building a relationship by trashing other people. Speaking of trash, Harry Caray's is the opposite gold baby! All the sports memorabilia is hung throughout the place, but I really didn't check it out. There were TV screens all over which was nice, but of course the MLB Network and X Games were on. Not exactly prime time television's to the food! I was hungry as hell so I wanted soup. There was minestrone, clam chowder, or tomato, chickpea, and cabbage soup. I went with the latter and it was so salty and super delicious. I told my brother I could have eaten it by the vat full. I don't know what a vat is. I looked on the menu and saw dishes like steak, chicken, fish; typical steakhouse fare, but I wanted something quick and easy. HOLY COW! Burger bar at the bottom of the menu. Myriad choices of bun, toppings, sides, and cheese! I got mine cooked medium and it was done in 20 minutes at the very most! It did not disappoint. Listen, I am a huge White Sox fan, and even though this place is filled with typical bros talking how their opinions are right about anything sports is ubiquitous as air in this place, it is worth it for a quick and reasonable burger!!

I'm not really that impressed with this place. The food was decent, but nothing really stood out as great. I found it to be a bit overpriced and rather boring inside. My grandparents may like it, but I don't see myself going back. I think the the name and being attached to a hotel are the only 2 things keeping this place going. I'm not even sure if Harry Caray would even want to go there...if he was still a live. Sorry Harry, you only get 3 Holy Cows on a 5 Holy Cow rating.

I do think A-OK about describes this place. Can only speak of the bar area, as we didn't have a full sit down fancy pants meal in the dining room. Went during the day, mid afternoon. The plusses: Tallgrass beef option for the burgers, good beer, good sports viewing in the bar. The not-so-good: Broccoli and the burger were seriously oversalted, there was an extra charge for the burger depending on the BREAD choice (i'm sorry, but 30 cents extra for a whole wheat bun, .50 for a kaiser bun, and .75 for a pretzel roll? Really? Paying for toppings is one thing, but we're talking about BREAD, here.), and the service was a bit slow. There wasn't really anything egregious with this place, arbitrary bun charge notwithstanding, and if I was out here regularly, or staying in the hotel nearby, it would definitely be an option. But there wasn't really anything that would make it much of a destination restaurant.

I went there once but only sat in the bar area. The bar area alone is impressive. It is a very long bar with a large selection of beer, wine and hard liquor. The bartenders were attentive and polite. It is a bit pricey, but it is a very nice bar.

GREAT dinner with colleagues. Steaks were excellent as was sides. Calamari left a bit to be desired - too breaded and well done. Have been twice and hardly anyone in restaurant besides my party. Makes for somewhat of a strange ambiance. Went on a week night so I assume weekend nights are a little more lively. Friendly server.

What a disappointment! The best thing about this restaurant was the Potato Chips that were on each table. After that, it was all downhill! My husband and I went for lunch on a Saturday and they would only allow us to sit in the bar (which was fine for us). The restaurant was empty but that didn't mean the service was good- just the opposite in fact. The food was over prices and adequate at best. I had a Swordfish special that was over cooked and the fish tasted old. Since this restaurant is next to "Holy Makoral" and they use the same fish and kitchen, this surprised me. My husband had a steak sandwich which was a generous portion but was below average. He asked for the steak medium rare and it came out more medium well. We were excited to try this great city restaurant in the burbs but something got lost on the Eisenhower because the original and this restaurant are worlds apart.

My colleagues and I held a business meeting at the Westin today and 12 of us descended on the restaurant at about 12:30pm even though our reservation was for 1:30pm. We apologized for the abrupt change and the staff took this in stride and seated us right away. Service was prompt and each of us enjoyed our meals. From the pork chop, to the meatloaf, pulled pork sandwich and wedge salad, everything was very tasty. Our waiter brought us warm bread, fresh from the oven and we almost ruined our appetites; we just could not stop eating that delicious bread. We requested separate checks, which some waiters get annoyed with and yet our waiter accomodated this request without hesitation or attitude. We hope we made it worth his while by tipping him well. In any event, we plan to hold future business meetings at the Westin and definitely will frequent Harry Caray's again soon!

You know it's hit or miss when you order take-out as much as I do. This is my visit to this well known establishment. I ordered the Holy-cow burger w/ pasta side as a side. I was given fries instead-that's ok they were still good. It's your standard massive burger w/ all the condiments. I also ordered the crab cakes appetizer. My waitress kept calling it the entree & that's fine, but what I got were 2 crab cakes-appetizer size for $27.95. Ouch! I guess I expect better for such a place or I should go to Capital Grill or Gibson's for perfection. I'll will return for their dinner menu has other options. I will also try Holy Mackerel next door. It's fairly easy to get to on Butterfield tucked in back of Yorktown Mall in the Westin Hotel. Best part of this meal: dessert at Labriola Bakery!

"lunch has been cancelled... due to lack of hustle" Ordered carry-out with a buddy of mine today for lunch. we got the chicken chopped salad, which from past experience i have found to be enormous and fantastic. picked up the food, both women at the front were super nice, got back to the office, opened the bag, and the salad didn't even cover the bottom of the take out tray. my buddy and i both ate the food anyway since we'd spent 12 dollars on it, but i figured it was possible that they'd made a mistake. i called the restaurant to see if we could work something out. I was transferred to one of the manager's, Will, who was rather dismissive in his approach. Will informed me that as of Monday they had changed their online menu and portion sizes. I informed him that there was no indication of any such change AND all the prices remained the same. his response "Yeah." I asked if we could get some sort of credit or other remuneration. his response "no." i plan to take this up with higher management. i'm not overly optimistic. needless to say, i'm not going back. happy friday!

Last minute choice for St. Patrick's Day feast - best choice I could have made. Service was great, they even turned on the game for us, and the food was phenominal. At least they planned ahead and didn't run out of corned beef & cabbage like 2 other places we went.

Steer clear. Love the one downtown on Kinzie. This one was bad for an initial group outing and went downhill from there on our second visit for a stop in the bar. A bald, goateed bartender insulted one of our guests right out of the gate, and the manager continued this mistreatment with even more caustic behavior. Way better choices all within ear shot of this dog.

We were there for a mid-week dinner about 5:30. Dining room was empty. We had 2 soups, 2 entrees (no steaks), one dessert and three glasses of wine. $99! Very pricey. The same meal at Claim Jumper would have been ~$60. Service was OK. When we were there there were 4 customers in the place. To serve these customers there were two hostesses, two servers, three bussers and a number of managers. Since the dining room was basically empty we got to listen to the bussers personel conversations. Food was OK. We wouldn't go back. The bar area between Holy Cow and Holy Makerl has free homemade potato chips. Very Good! Bottom line: If you want a bar snack give that a try. Otherwise there are much better choices in the area.

I have gone to Harry's in Chicago multiple times so I had a high standard to hold this one to. This, however did not measure up. The service was fantastic. Our server was attentive, explained answers to our questions clearly and had some great suggestions of her own. The bruschetta was a great appetizer. Wine selection was good as were their prices. I ordered the pan seared Alaskan Halibut which was on special and my girlfriend ordered the linguine with grilled chicken. Mine was almost flavorless with the exception of some pepper that was seared into it. The mashed Peruvian purple potatoes weren't entirely cooked through (don't know if that was done on purpose.) My girlfriends chicken was overcooked and dry (looked like it sat underneath a heating lamp until all of it's moisture was sucked out). Our dessert that we shared was a fudge brownie sundae and the brownie tasted like it had been baked last week being that it was dry and crumbly. It was a disappointing meal from a place that should be better. Service was great but food sub par. I realize that Harry's is know as a steakhouse and we didn't get any steaks but it is also a place supposed to be recognized for it's Italian and fine dinning. Not what we experienced.

Came here for a Saturday lunch. I ordered from the "burger bar" and my friend had the bone-in chicken vesuvio. My custom burger was 10oz sirloin with cajun spice, cheddar cheese, sauteed onions, bacon, and pretzel bun. Burger was large and had good flavor, though the cajun seasoning was very light and hardly noticeable. Bacon was thick-cut, and the pretzel bread was a nice change from regular buns. Pasta salad that came with the burger was fine but nothing special. My friend said the chicken vesuvio was very good, so I'll have to give it a try next time. Service was OK, but the waitress was spread thin across many tables, so at times we had to wait on refills. Overall a good lunch but on the pricey side, especially the burger bar because virtually all toppings are extra charge.

Got to agree with most of the reviews - this location is a pricey sub-standard version of the downtown location. I love Harry Caray's in River North and have never had a bad experience there. But this location lacks the energy and vibe of the city locations; servers are nice but slow and not very energetic, and the food is okay. For the prices, and I hate to say this, being the ultimate Cubs fan that I am, skip this and go to one of the other fine steakhouses in the immediate area.

A GREAT reminder... Of why eating at a hotel restaurant is a BAD idea. Food: Bowl of Beef Vegetable soup. $4.95 This is a bowl? 1/2 inch deep, about 4 inches across. 8-10 spoonfuls. Good flavor, or was that salt. An interesting bay leaf floating on top and not in a "Hi, aren't I a cute garnishment sort of way". More of a "Dang the cook is lazy tonight" way. How about the Chicago Chicken Chopped Salad. $14.95. Kinda small. Like about 1/2 the size that Subway would give you for $6. And less chicken. And less flavor (other than the heavy italian sauce that was too heavy to be considered dressing). I almost forgot about the $3 for the 10 oz Iced Tea. Service: Not really. Slow is not an adequate description. Below average until the check came. Then another 20 minutes to get a pen. Manager walked past 3 times, but couldn't get his attention. Servers are ONLY interested in their tables. Ambiance. More bad 70s music than you can stand. Nice decor, but with such bad music and inattentive service, it was a wonder I didn't sprint out of the place. BTW, I am not biased against 70's music. A lot of it is very good. Harry Caray's spent a lot of time searching down market garage sales to locate music this bad. I love the hotel. Hate the food choices available. Hope I never get snowed in at this property. Chewing off my arm for nutrition becomes a viable choice.

We enjoy every one of the three Harry Caray's that we have visited. This Harry Caray's will pay for your movie tickets, until June 1, 2009. Just show them your movie ticket stub and you get a 10.00 discount off every 30.00, how can you beat that!! We went to this one on a Sunday afternoon, after seeing a movie. We were not disappointed. This is as good as the Harry Caray's in downtown Chicago. Great Italian food, and steaks. Save room for dessert. It is worth it..

The ambiance at the Lombard location is very similar to the downtown locale and features lot of Cubs and other MLB memorabilia. Besides the Surf & Turf special which is offered periodically, I have also tried their pork chops which are out of this world and offer a huge portion of the money. I definitely recommend a trip to it might be, it could be, it is...Harry Caray's.

I downed a few cocktails at the bar with a friend of mine. I have been to the Harry Carry's in Chicago many times, so trying their food would have probably been the same experience. The bartender was friendly, got confused when we asked for a vodka & cranberry. She started looking for vodka that was cranberry flavored and became all confused. I guess with all of the different types of alcohol out there, this is a common mistake among all bartenders. I also kept laughing at all of the suburbanites that were dressed up in their Cubs gear. Ha ha...

I went there for dinner. I have been to the downtown location and loved it. In Lombard, I had the potato soup. It was very bland and I love potato soup. I then had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. The chicken was overcooked and tough. The pasta just seemed dry. I was very surprised. For the money it is not worth it. My husband had steak which was okay. The bread was good. (The chips are in the bar)

Where do I start? Searched some restaurants in the western suburbs and found this place (also had some decent reviews) so me & other family members decided to take my grandmother here for her BD. What a BAD choice. Can't complain about the parking or wait because that was just fine, but the food was "alright". I don't know what I was expecting but I ordered a pasta dish which I thought you really can't go wrong with & it was not as "tasty" as I had imagined it would be from the ingredients and description. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't nasty...just not worth the money they are charging for it. My grandmother had some sort of burger & she didn't even eat half of it...she said that it wasn't that it wasn't very flavorful. The other family members seemed to like what they had (steak & chicken) but me & my grandmother's meal was a waste. I did however like the shrimp cocktail appetizer...the shrimps were huge & the sauce that came with it had a very unique spicy taste that was just right. All-in-all I wont be revisiting this place because for the price it just doesn't seem worth it. I left feeling like I could have went to Olive Garden or Red Lobster, got a good meal & spent half the money.

Our August 27, 2011 wedding was at the Harry Caray's ballroom at the Westin in Lombard and it was amazing. Migdalia is delightful to work with and was really great every step of the way. We really appreciated that all of the costs were up front, there were no hidden cake cutting fees or linen fees. Also, the ballroom is so beautiful, there is no need for chair covers or other decorations, which was great. The staff was amazing to work with. The food was out of this world. We still have guests calling us to tell us it was the best steak they ever had in their life and they were amazed that this food was being served at a wedding. The atmosphere was wonderful. We had a very large wedding, but the setting was intimate. Our guests loved the outdoor terrace and it was a wonderful setting to enjoy the evening, both the cocktail hour and the rest of the night. We are so happy that we chose the Harry Caray's Ballroom. We felt that the staff went out of their way to make our wedding day truly amazing. We were also thrilled with the vendors that they recommended, especially Creative Cakes Bakery in Tinley Park. Our cake was beautiful and delicious. Our guests have been telling us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. We agree, but we are admittedly biased. We really could not be more thrilled with our choice to have our wedding at the Harry Caray's at the Westin in Lombard.

I recently had my first trip to the new Harry Caray's location in Lombard (and my first Harry Caray's experience). The restaurant is located in the new Westin hotel near Butterfield Rd and Highland in Lombard. The hotel is pretty bling, btw. We visited the steakhouse part of the establishment - there is also a large bar and more-casual dinner area, as well as a cafe/bistro type bar and seafood sit-down area as well. The steakhouse is formal, but very nicely decorated with baseball and Chicago memorabilia . Most patrons were wearing business or business casual attire, however, a few donned in hats and shorts drinking Miller Lite were present. Onto the experience..... We had reservations (for 5 of us) and were seated promptly. All the staff was very professional - dressed the part and very polite and respectful (I hate it when they interrupt your conversations). The wine list was complete, yet pricey. I recognized some bottles that I knew the prices from other restaurants, and noted that they were a tad bit more expensive than I'm used to (on top of the already inflated wine prices at restaurants). We ordered a Concha y Toro cab, which seemed reasonably priced for the quality ($18 in the stores, $38 at Harry Caray's... why I care, as this is business travel? I'm not really sure.. ). Upon pouring of the wine, a colleague noticed a paper-like thingy sticking to the side of the inside of the wine glass. He asked our waitress about it and she promptly took the glass, returned with another glass and offered a complimentary 2nd bottle of wine or desserts on the house for the inconvenience. We were very impressed (and kicked ourselves for not ordering that Napa Duckhorn $150 bottle!) with the response. I'd have simply fished out the foreign object and drank the wine, but I'm from the south where silverware is considered high class. We ordered the bruschetta for a starter. It was nicely presented and used roasted/grilled tomatoes that had some real nice dressing or sauce. I couldn't tell exactly what it was, but it was good. Prior to ordering our main dinner, we were given a presentation on all the cuts and variations of the meats on the menu. Pretty neat. For dinner, most of us ordered steak. I had the Tallgrass (grass fed cow) NY strip. It was prepped very nicely and tasted good. I'd give it a 7 out of 10 - but I might be skewed as I havent had tallgrass beef in a while (opposed to corn-fed, which is the majority of their menu). Everyone else that had steak said it was very good. We shared a few side items - creamed spinach, brocolli and muchrooms, and mashed potatoes. Everything was good sized portions (3 sides fed 5 of us) and reasonable priced, too. Overall, a great experience. I give 4 out of 5 stars as the steak wasn't a truly spectacular slab of meat, but still very good. Sidenote - the bar seemed pretty nice.. We arrived and went straight to dinner, but at 10pm the bar was still populated and lively.

I can't remember what induced me to try the Rosemont location several years ago. This restaurant had two things going against it even before walking in the door. It is a chain restaurant and it is a celebrity restaurant. My meal was was prepared exactly the same and just as good as the meals I have had at the Rosemont location. I had the wet aged bone in rib eye with the visuvio preparation. I don't think I am being too superlative in using the term divine to describe this preparation. The only thing I can remember from the description of the preparation was white wine and peas. Please have a server give you a more detailed explanation if you are interested. I do like my steak on the raw side; nevertheless, next time I think I will try medium rare. At least it was warm throughout. I could have sent it back and had it cooked a little more, but it was really good and I didn't want to risk it getting overcooked. Also next time I don't think I will bother ordering the mashed potatoes. Even though they were good a nice portion of seasoned oven roasted potatoes comes with the steak. Due to the fact that I wanted to try both dressings, I put blue cheese on half of my salad and creamy garlic on the other half. What I liked about the blue cheese dressing is that it was not the least bit sour or biter, which can be a problem with this dressing. As good as the blue cheese was, I slightly preferred the creamy garlic. For me the service was top notch.

We visited the Lombard location last night to celebrate our friends 40th birthday. The food, waiter and everything was wonderful until the awful manager ruined the night. We spend hundreds of dollars on our wine, appitizers, meal, dessert and we were treated poorly by the manager. 4 of the 8 girls we were with left after the dessert. The remaining 4 went to the bar and were gong to share one more bottle of wine and then call it a night - this was around 10:00. The manager came over and said we were over served and that he will not serve us any more. We had 6 bottles of wine with dinner that 8 of us were drinking. We had a limo picking us up - so the driving was not an issue. We've never been treated like that and certainly none of us were falling off our stools. There are 1000 other ways I can think of that he could have approached it - giving us a glass instead of a bottle and letting us know that is last call. He did an awful job of communicating that to us - we've never had anyone tell us we were over served. He ruined the end of my friends birthday celebration and all 8 of us agree we'd never go back there with a manager like that, to bad because our waiters were great.

I was shocked....utterly shocked. I love the Harry Carays' in the city and this place down right sucked. The calamari was WAY over cooked....it was so chewy it was nasty. We told the waiter, who we had become buddy-buddy with and he brought it back to the kitchen. I think they just microwaved it. It was hot but just as chewy. We did not eat any of that....and no one inquired about that. Next I ordered the pasta (wrongly thinking it could not be screwed up) and my dining mate ordered a steak. The pasta was just not good. Honestly Olive Garden would have been better. His steak was ordered medium....and was well done. This meal was so bad it did not even get better with beer....how many meals can you say that about? We went to Ditkas' after to get dinner and that was great! Go to the one in the city. We arrived and left hungry.

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Harry Caray's last night, and I am afraid we have nothing to be thankful for. It was reasonably priced but I would happily pay more for better food. We did the special holiday menu, and the main course (turkey or prime rib) is served at the table. However, the sides are served buffet style. There is no appetizer option with this special menu or even bread at the table. The sides were traditional, but they were lukewarm and mediocre at best. The stuffing was empty when I went down the buffet line, and when they brought out the new one it had clearly been sitting in a warmer and was already dried out. The logistics also makes no sense -- you have a plate of sides per person from the buffet and then they bring a huge plate of meat per person. So each person has two big plates in front of them. It was really awkward. Service was friendly, but subpar. We had two questions (one was simply a request for a menu and the other was an ingredient question) and the server needed reminders both times. In fact, the ingredient question was never answered. It was not busy at all either, so this wasn't an issue of being overwhelmed. Perhaps the regular menu is better, but it was a very disappointing holiday meal.

Went for my Fathers Day dinner. It was the last day of steak week. I had been anxious all week with anticipation. Tonight's feature was Prime vs Wagyu (Kobe). We were seated right away after arriving at 3:50 for our 4 pm reservation. Two servers, neither of which was our server came to attend to us and inform us our server would be with us shortly.., after four min he arrived-apologizing for his delay. We had already had the special explained to us by the other servers by the time he arrived so we were ready to order. Wifey & I both ordered the steak week feature; she got the Caesar salad, I got the wedge BLT minus the bacon. The salads arrived quickly and were very good. The entree arrived- let me preface this by saying I have had Kobe beef on several occasions - what was presented to me tonight if true Kobe- was the poorest representation of Kobe that I have ever had in my life .... It was cooked medium rare as requested but the flavor, richness and tenderness were just not there. What a disappointment ... The meal was supposed to come with Heirloom tomatoes. The server didn't bring them out with our entree. When we inquired he went back n2 the kitchen and came out with some grilled green house tomatoes...not even close... To say this was a disappointment is an understatement ... To their credit when I brought these issues to the attention of the manager she did credit our bill 50% and comped the wine flight( a very professional move). Unfortunately for me that was not enough to have me as a repeat customer

My brother and I went here at about 10 PM after a Bulls game. We both created our own burgers, with fixins of our own. The tall grass beef burgers were delicious! They correctly cooked our burgers; even though we are twins, I had miine Medium Well, his was just medium. PERFECTLY COOKED for both of us. We also both had a cup of tomato, cabbage, and garbanzo bean soup. AMAZING! I would give the place 4.5 stars because it's a bit expensive for a burger, but I'm not in the docking mood. THe menu has a more expensive taste with steaks, seafood, and their world famous chicken vesuvio. I would definitely like to go back in the near future and try something else! The service was fantastic... we got our soup in less than 3 mins, and our food in less than 10! The place wasn't too crowded, but there were a good amount of people there. Service and atmosphere were good, too. Lots of TVs, and the music was not too loud, thank goodness. Highly Recommend!

I ate at both the restaurant and the bar. The sit down restaurant is very good. I had the New York Strip steak which was perfectly prepared medium-rare. Along with the steak, I tried the creamed spinach - as other users have mentioned, the spinach is very fresh and it tastes phenomenal. I was very pleased overall with this meal. The bar offers a variety of food options as well. I had myself a mushroom and swiss burger. Lucky for me, the Cubs were playing so the burger was HALF OFF! Great deal for a very tasty burger. Overall, solid food choices at reasonable prices. The half off special during Cubs games is a steal and I would highly recommend taking advantage of it.

BAR experience only. Was at the hotel for an event, and we did not want to shuffle cars on a Saturday nite. The seafood side had a wait, which seemed real strange was we passed 7 open tables on the way to the bar. The bar was seat yourself (not clear by either of use) so we grabbed a table. They were not that busy, and getting more open as patrons waiting for service got up and left and diners finishing meals left. Waiting for menus and drink orders was slow. Eventually we got our orders in. 55 minutes later we finally had our burgers. We both ordered medium rare. Her's was done correctly. Mine was not. Our waitress was overloaded (they were understaffed, but were still not efficient). When I mentioned the issue, she appropriately sent a manager over. I had not recognized her as being staff in the previous hour plus I had a good view of the floor. She apologized and wandered off. Never recognizing the hour to get the initial burger out. She offered to do a new burger, but we had plans back at the hotel with the event, and I did not want to split our meals or take a burger out. We got charged for individual soft drinks without asking if we wanted refills. She did take off 1/2 for the burger ($13 burger), but the receipt is among the most complicated I have seen in 15 years. The other floor manager was distracting in how useless he was, how many laps he made around the floor and to the kitchen all without talking to patrons, helping out staff, or doing anything that seemed useful. They both should be suspended for a week, sent to a real restaurant to learn how to work a floor, and considered for firing. Next time I will brave the 45 MPH winds, and walk to McDonalds - it will be quicker, quieter and more friendly for far less.

We entered the bar area and the bartenders were more concerned with the computer system than us. After 10 minute wait, the bartender approached us with a " hey guys, are you thirsty? " whipping napkins at us. He asked us if we wanted the drink menu. Then walked away. We left. Came back because we were stuck in the hotel with kids in the pool. Considered walking over to Target to buy a six pack and get a pizza delivery, but I wanted to be kinda healthy. Entered the restaurant, hostesses asked us where we wanted to sit. We said whatever is convenient, they looked at us puzzled and we conceded to the bar area again. Waitress aggressively approached my boyfriend as he went to the bar to order our drinks. Came back with drinks asked us if we were ready to order, no explanation or greetings. Prices on menu are sky high for the level of service offered. Depressing. Place is good for traveling insurance consultants on expense accounts, if that.

Ambiance. Okay. I don't know why, but I expected more of a plusher, leather couched, old school place. More like Capital Grille. There were mostly tables on a hard shiny floor with some booths. Should have been more intimate with more booths. That being said, the service was impeccable. Very attentive to providing whatever I needed, including topped glass of water. The piece de resistance was their dry aged ribeye. Beef at it perfection. Juicy, expertly grilled and cooked with the right amount of grilled charred exterior and the flavor was extraordinarily delicious. I would say that this steak is on my top ten rivaling, if not better, than Gibson's and Mortons. I had a side of creamed spinach which was not the typical mushy, cheesy creamed spinach. The texture of the spinach remained in tact and the flavor was spiced with nutmeg and other yummy spices. Unique and exceptional. I would definitely go back for the steak.

Wow.... I was pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. I ordered the 22oz porterhouse , great for sharing. I happen to like my steak not pink but not burned either and many places have a hard time cooking it right. But my steak was perfect!!!! It was not dry at all. It was so delicious. Tender and with just the right seasoning. My friends had their steak medium rare and medium well and they were all extremely satisfied with the way their steak came out. I also had their garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and asparagus side dishes, they were all delicious. The service here was great, luved it!

I've dined here many times and the food and service has always been excellent. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and professional--thoroughly explaining the menu, the specials, and the steaks. I cannot emphasize that enough. They are the best I have seen. In terms of menu items, the Eggplant Parmigiana is a favorite of mine. In addition to the wonderful service and food, the dining atmosphere is a lot of fun for baseball fans. There are many framed pictures of baseball players and celebrities, and jerseys on the wall. With that in mind, one might assume this is a casual sports place--far from it! The dining room is quite elegant and not really a place to go in jeans and a t-shirt.

Had Dinner there on New Years Eve. Was looking forward to a great steak. Service was just ok (our waiter did remember to deliver my wine with the dinner but failed to deliver our coffee with desert- also did not bother to ask how our dishes were after they were served). That last one was a big mistake because my bone-in ribeye, which I ordered cooked to medium, was extremely rare. With no easy way to complain I ate what I could. Will not be going back anytime soon. For those prices I expect much better.

Harry always made me smile and laugh, so I have enjoyed the memories every time I go to the namesake restaurants. I had a simple turkey club. It was fine, but certainly not a great sandwich. I happily took my server's advice ordering it, and should have known with the menu in-hand that a freaking turkey club was not going to be a menu highlight!!! Oh well. The homemade chips are alway a hit here.

Horrible! We were at a convention and there were celebrities there. It didnt matter to the hotel because they CLOSED at 11pm. People from all over the world came here for this convention and wanted to have drinks. Most everyone was PISSED because they wanted to relax in a warm atmosphere with friends and fans and they DID NOT CARE! Closed at 11pm. Some had a 14 hour trip to the place!!!! Plus they WAY over charged me at $17.50 for a standard glass of house white wine! This place sucks. BAD! The bartenders were off talking to themselves at length and ignoring all of us. The female bartender turned her nose up at us! (how could she do this with large celebs at the bar!?!?) We all left saying we had no desire to return and hoped that the person that arranged the convention would not book this hotel again. I WILL speak for everyone involved and say it was one of the worst experiences we have ever had in such a circumstance. I wish I could have taken everyone to a place that appreciates our money and the people that were there!

Holy Mackerel and Harry Caray's are combined restaurant located at the Westin Lombard Hotel (first floor). Holy Mac is more upscale, may be a bit rigid for some, while the Harry Caray's is more of a relaxed setting. - Ambiance and service = 5 Stars. Ambiance is comfortable. Sporty setting with a touch of class. Friendly and accomodating servers. Our server also gave us an unexpected complimentary ribbon pasta in marinara sauce which was a nice touch. She was readily available to fill our drinks and often drops by to check on us. - Food = 5 stars. My company and I ordered Rigatoni ni vodka sauce, atlantic salmon in risotto and jumbo sea scallops in risotto. Mashed potato and chicken for the lil one. My salmon risotto was amazing. It was cooked perfectly and have a sharp, bold parmesan flavor with a kick of crisp saltiness. Really yummy. Portions are just right. - Price = 4 stars. It's a bit on the expensive side but well worth it. If I had more time in the area, I would definitely be back to try more on their menu.

We just took my father-in-law here for his birthday. The decor is fun for baseball fans (very similar to the Chicago location). The food was OK, but way too pricey. The service was average. My father-in-law got the lamb chops, and he was very pleased. My husband got the chicken parmesan and said it was pretty good. The portion was huge. He's a big guy that can eat a lot...and he couldn't finish everything. I got the seafood risotto. The shrimp was kind of rubbery, and I needed to add a lot of salt for some reason. Service was OK. Our server was somewhat attentive in the beginning, but seemed to disappear after our meals arrived. All in all, I'd recommend going to the bar for a drink to watch a game (free homemade potato chips), but I'd be less inclined to go back for dinner.

My 3 year old daughter and I had a "girl's Day" Sunday and so we were going to go to the mall in OakBrook. I let her pick where we were eating. She saw the cow (with Harry's glasses) outside and decided that she wanted to go to Harry Caray's. Me, being a die hard Steelers Fan - but looking forward to the massacre of the New England Patriots - was happy to oblige as the restaurant has HD tvs all over it. Kids eat free there on Sundays too. Perfect! My daughter had the Spaghetti and Meatballs (kids serving). She enjoyed it. I can't really use a 3 year old's review because well, kids food is kids food. I had the Grass Fed Beef Burger, with a Pretzel Roll. If you are going to get a burger there, GET THE PRETZEL ROLL. It was wonderful! The burger was cooked perfectly, the fries were those good steak fries that I used to get growing up when I went out with my parents, and all in all it was just good. The atmosphere is welcoming and nice. But like others have said, don't go to this place expecting the Harry's from the city, it's a totally different place albeit the same concept. All in all, this place is in a hotel too. So, I am sure that people staying at the hotel love it - especially (and obviously) if they are Cubs fans. It's good. Just don't go in there expecting the downtown location, alright?

I stayed in the hotel so this was a logical place to eat. I ate 2 dinners and a lunch at this restaurant. The prices are very high, in my opinion. I understand that it is a Chicago landmark name and you pay for it when you want to eat there. $7 for a bowl of clam chowder is steep, especially since you only get about 8 ounces. My last meal there was a burger, Caesar salad and clam chowder. $27 for the meal....with tax and tip it worked out to be $33.48. I would have liked to have tried the fish or steak but over $30 for an entree is steep and I could not justify the expense in my mind. The burger was great and I would recommend it to anyone. Would I go back? Yes, but I would still only order the burger and chowder. They have a HUGE liquor selection so if you are looking to drink, this is the place.

Great 1/2 off Burgers specials during Bulls and Bears games. Got the Wagyu burger on a pretzel roll with fries. The meat could have been more tender. Great customer service and excellent place to catch a game.

Wow, was really blown away by my last visit, it was on par with any Steakhouse meal I have had in a long time. The Dry Aged ribeye with a Obscene amount of Truffle Butter was really memorable. We started with some excellent oysters and a top notch blue cheese wedge, is there any better way to start a Steak Dinner than a classic Wedge salad...I think Not! tI I cant not include a shout out to a very very very professional server, he was knowledgeable, polite, engaging and had perfect timing for everything, a real true pro. Service could not have been better, it a joy to encounter someone like that at a quality restaurant.

Christmas Day dinner at Harry Caray's in Lombard was a train wreck. There was so little cheer here that I felt Scrooge was running the place. Someone had to. The servers and managers were completely overwhelmed. Our drinks were wrong, our food was wrong, and our bill was wrong, and it took a long time to rectify the mistakes. What's the old adage about if you don't have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over? When we complained to a manager, he admitted the operation was inefficient that day but made no peace offering. We've had Christmas Day dinner at nearby McCormick and Schmick's and Glen Prairie, and both were excellent. If you're going to offer Christmas Day dinner, you need to do it with great service and a gracious attitude. This is one of the most significant and memorable meals of the year for most people. Harry Caray's did not. We won't be back.

Came back a year later on the premise that my last visit was probably an off night. Much stronger showing this time around. Service was excellent and attentive. Had a delicious, crisp and well-dressed wedge salad and perfectly cooked lamb chops oreganata. Those chops were damned good! Harry is back in the game!

The bar is a great atmosphere and a fine place to order a beer and have a quick meal. I had the Harry Caray burger which was great. My buddy and I were watching the football game on their ample TVs. I thought it would be a typical hotel bar, but it was more than that.

I went here on business, having taken the client on a previous trip to Harry Caray's Tavern (oops). It's a pricier place, suitable for a business dinner. Lots of autographed photos on the walls, including a certain former Illinois senator, and they have the carnable wagon from Roe Conn's radio show here enshrined in the bar, which was fun for the client. The food was OK for pricey business dinner food. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but there were a few, and the meat eaters seemed happy with their steak, crab cakes and calamari. I got the artichoke ravioli with shrimp, hold the shrimp, and it was pretty unremarkable - couldn't taste the goat cheese or artichoke at all. Service was pretty good; the waiter kept his eye on us and brought out plastic-wrapped specimens of each of the various cuts of meat to help people choose. One of my dining companions complained about some minor detail (his entree came with the same vegetables he'd ordered as an appetizer) and they comped his dessert, the "baseball cake." Do try the baseball cake; the presentation is exceptional (it's frosted to look like a baseball, presented on a bed of green-tinted shredded coconut) and apparently the cake is good too. I won't be back again any time soon for myself, and I suppose if a client wants to go to Harry Caray's they have the downtown location in mind, but the client seemed happy and it's nice to have an option that doesn't require driving downtown.

Our family took my mom and grandma here for Mother's Day brunch which was about $42 a person. It was fantastic! They served all you can eat king crab legs. Unfortunately, some people grab two plates full not really being considerate about the people behind them. I wish they had more crab leg trays or refill them more, or hey! Maybe, just maybe people shouldn't grab a whole plate full when there is a LINE behind them? Just a thought. The risotto was fantastic. Great flavor. It was a vegetable risotto. I tried the fish, it was a parm crusted sole, that was excellent. I also tried a pasta in vodka sauce which was great, some salads and lots of desserts. Honestly, there was so much food for the $$$. I would recommend going here for special occasions for the brunch buffet. There was an omelet station, a carving station and I must say the prime rib was pretty good!! I will be back!

the breakfast was ok. I had taken my children while my husbad was in a conference. The problem was our server. She treated us as if we were these people who couldn't possibly know or understand what it's like to sign a bill to our Room number and that we weren't going to tip anyway.. unfortunately I didn't get to tell her to read my reviews about "Tips" Ohh I will have a few for ya !

The restaurant and steakhouse are the same establishment. Holy Mackerel is the only seperate eatery, that I'm aware of? My fiance and I were looking for somewhere new to eat, and even though we're both big Cub fans, realized while passing Harry Caray's on the way to the mall that neither of us had ever been there. So we went on a Saturday night with no reservations. Parking sucked (didn't want to use the valet), but once we were inside, we were impressed! Despite not having a reservation, we were treated very well. We were seated in the main dining room, at the end in a large booth that made us feel very VIP (even though we were the only people in the restaurant dressed in t-shirts and jeans). Our waiter was very helpful, and there was additional waitstaff around in case we needed anything. The food was great! I had to try the Smoked Mac and Cheese side dish - ohmyYUM. And tried to have the Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce, but was too full to finish it. The leftovers? Still delicious. My fiance opted for a burger off the vast burger menu with the many many options, and said it was really good. There were a lot of other dishes I want to try, including the desserts, so we'll definitely be back. And it was only $40 for the 2 of us. We expected a larger bill for such a schmancy looking place! It was fun to look at the celebrity wall on our way out, too. Our only complaint: Why is there memorabilia for the White Sox and the Cardinals here? Hmmm? ; )

Our company's holiday dinner has been held here for the past two years, and we've been very pleased thus far with the quality of service and the quality of the menus--and the food doesn't taste too bad either! Good portions of each course we've received, have us go home very full or with doggie bags in tow. The only drawback (?) is that the bar can get rather busy in the evenings and it's a tight fit to walk through or have our pre-dinner aperitifs. We're pleased thus far.

I've been to a few Harry Caray's over the years, and there was nothing particularly interesting about this one. Situated in the Yorktown Center Westin, it's little more than a moderately upscale sports bar full of hotel guests. I was hoping to eat at Holy Mackerel, but they had already closed the kitchen and with Harry Caray's kitchen about to close, the crowd was well over the dinner hump and on to drinking, and by the time I was done with my meal the place had gotten much rowdier than I would have expected for a Tuesday night. I had the bone-in chicken vesuvio, which was purported to be the best in Chicago. I haven't sampled enough chicken vesuvio in Chicago to say whether I agree with this, but it was really quite nice. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the tender, juicy meat just fell off the bone with very little encouragement of utensils or fingers. The sauce was rich and just spicy enough to be interesting without overpowering the chicken. The potatoes were a little limp, and I only had a couple bites of the penne pasta side, but overall it was a really satisfying meal (at hotel prices). I also had a glass of the Malbec, which had clearly been open for far too long, but wine by the glass is half price on Tuesdays, so I guess I got what I paid for. I wasn't impressed, nor was I put off. It's a little pricey for what it is and where it is but, as they say, it is what it is.

I try not to be a city snob- since I live in the Burbs but live my life in the city. But can someone explain to me how the "sister" restaurants to the ones in the city are always lacking something? Harry Caray's in the city is great- I have never had a bad experience there. But I had a business dinner at the new Harry Carays in Lombard the other night and it left me wondering just what went wrong? Oh sure- our reservations were ready when we got here. The place was empty so getting a seat was not the problem. Our server? Seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else. And he usually was whenever we were looking for him. As for the food-the soup was cold, the Caesar salad had so much garlic that you wouldn't have wanted to sit next to me for a couple of days and the chicken vesuvio was definitely off. When I asked the server about it- all he could say was "that's the way its supposed to taste". Trust me- I eat out alot. That was not the way it was supposed to taste. There's been alot of hype about the rejuvenation of Yorktown Mall and surrounding pad of which this restaurant is part of. The mall needs this as it has been limping along since Montgomery Wards closed down oh so many years ago. Many of the city's chain restaurants have opened up "sisters" out there (Capital Grill, Uncle Julio's, Flat Top Grill, Harry Carays, etc just to name a few). But if given a choice- I'll drive into the city where I know that the service usually lives up to the reputation of the restaurant. And when I tell them that I have a problem- it is resolved. That's the difference between a person who wants to be in the service industry- and those that are doing cuz they can't find anything else.

Went here for Thanksgiving. The waiter was awful, surly and angry. To top that $7.95 for a sliver, literally a sliver of pumpkin pie....and NO whipped cream, not even offered. Happy Thanksgiving....uhhh, no. Never again. Overpriced, and horrible service.

My parents took me here for lunch one Saturday. I had some chicken pasta dish, and it wasn't that good. The pasta tasted fresh, but the chicken didn't seem very good quality, and the sauce was kind of strange tasting. Maybe I'd give it another chance for the chicken vesuvio (I think?) dish my parents had, which they said was great. I wouldn't make any special effort to go here, though.

It is pretty much a dorky suburban cousin of the fun and festive downtown outpost. Decor is pretty much a dead ringer of all the other locations and the food is pretty much the same, albeit a bit pricey for the area. The staff here was excellent and provided very courteous and prompt service to a raging mob of industry folks post wedding down the hall. While I think any other time they would have been wrapping it up and calling it a night, the bartenders ended up rolling up the sleeves and danced as fast as they could when most of the 190 guests came stumbling in. Earlier in the day we stopped in for a quick bite and had a moment of quiet before the storm. Again, friendly efficient service, decent prices.

Having been to other Harry Caray's restaurants, I did not think they could get any better, however the location in Lombard proved me wrong. Our first dining experience was Friday, March 22nd 2013 at 730pm. The restaurant is beautiful, the bar is very nicely decorated with enough TVs to watch your favorite games, but not so many TVs it becomes overbearing. Add to that on the spot professional servers, a wide variety menu and a happy upbeat atmosphere, there is little more one could want, until you enjoy your dinner. On top of the decor, comfort and service, the food is absolutely outstanding. Served in a timely manner, its the kind of prepared dish that makes you wish it would never end. I had the seafood alfredo linguini, that far surpassed the same dish I have had in celebrated seafood restaurants. Now if that isn't enough, they have a sister restaurant, Holy Mackerel next door, and if so desired you can order from that menu. All around, this was a fabulous experience, I strongly encourage all those who enjoy a dinner out, to visit Harry Caray's in Lombard at Yorktown center soon.

So, Harry Carry's seemed like a good choice for drinks. It is literally next door to the theater. We ended up sitting in the bar area. At first the service was non-existent which is funny because it was the waitress for that area that told us we could sit there and order just drinks. Just as one of us went in search of drinks the waitress came around. (It's all about timing!) To make amends, she brought a bowl of chips to us. (I'll never turn down a bowl of greasy chips so I was cool.) At the end of the day, I would go back for drink... maybe even have a meal as well.

Screw this place. The only reason they pulled 2 stars out of me is for the bar. I went here for a Christmas party and the food was ok but closer to bad. The prices are absolutly insane for the small portions you get.I didnt like the fact that you have to order everything seperate.Theres no potato, veg, salad, soup, pasta nothing included with the extremely high entree prices. I ordered the Eggplant parm which was I think the only Vegetarian option. When my meal came it was a little small pile of eggplant centered on a huge plate. It tasted awful. My Bf go some kind of shrimp that came out with 4 or 5 small shrimp on it and that way it! Although most of the meal sucked we did enjoy three things. #1 The service-- the staff is very knowledgable about there steaks and pretty much everything on the menu. #2 the decor- sports memorbillia.#3 The bar--Its big and open and the bartenders are really attentive. Oh yea I like the cow outside too.

Have you ever seen someone, and they just look fantastic. You can't keep you eye's off of them, and you begin to imagine what they would be like - and how much fun the two of you would have together, and you begin to get all excited, think "I finally found her..." Then you realize she's a complete b*&$h!!! And you're so turned off that now you're staring at her thinking "man, what a waist of a beautiful shell..." That's the feeling I got when i went here. I had heard and thought such wonderful things about this place. I mean, it's got to be a classy joint right? Wrong. The plush feux leather seats are nice, the dark mysterious atmosphere is like my grandfathers study, and the average customer oozes with debt and unrealistic understandings of the world, as they drive off in their $100,000 sports car. The service I thought was horrible. I didn't have any silverware on my table, and had to get up to go ask for some. The server took a long time to come back to us for our original order - and I don't think he thought twice about checking up on us during the meal. I thought the food was overpriced for the service and quality that I received, and not a place I would recommend. If you want this type of experience - go to Chile's, at least you'll have fun there!!!

i had lunch here today with my family.......the bill was a hundred bucks less tip.....the food, felt more like 40 bucks...if that. wife had chicken vesuvio...which was proclaimed as the house specialty and "best in the city" on the menu. it was neither. pretty dry chicken, served with frozen peas and large kind of soggy potato wedges. kids had the spaghetti and meatballs......from the regular menu. the pasta was ok...the red sauce was decent....the meatballs were ok. i had the wagyu beef burger....it was not cooked to medium, it was overcooked to well, it was also much smaller than the bun....and they actually charge extra for the cheese and onion. 1 dollar for the slice of cheese, and 75 cents for the slice of red onion. that made it a 13 dollar cheeseburger. dear friends, a 13 dollar burger it most definitely was not. we also had a couple of mimosas, which were served in a small champagne flute....i'd say they were about 8 ounzes...and they were 8.75 each......total ripoff. server joey was good, albeit the dining room was empty. overall, i was very surprised at how average this place was, i would not go out of my way to go back. the bar looked pretty good, it might be a good place to watch a game if you were staying in the hotel...other than that, skip it....the food just did not stand up to the prices or decor today.

My husband and I dined there only for the fantastic server we had there before. We ordered prime steaks, sides, appetizers, drinks and dessert. My side choice was the roasted Brussels sprouts. I received a hearty portion which looked OK. I knew from the look they were well undercooked. Sure enough, one bite into the hard Brussels sprout and I was done. Undercooked was an understatement. The salt content was through the roof! There is nothing "roasted" about them, they are pan sauteed & oily. I told our server who immediately apologized up an down and offered other sides or to take it off of our bill. We opted to remove it from the bill as we had plenty other food to eat. Our server brought it to the attention of the manager. She was speaking to him literally 3 feet from us if that. He turned around and glanced at our table then continued to have a lengthy conversation with the server. When he ended the convo with her, he once again glanced over and walked away. Our server came over graciously explaining the reason for the sprouts being that way saying they are working on mastering the recipe and the manager blamed all the salt content solely on the pancetta it is cooked with. NEVER once did this "manager" approach us with apologies or explanation. He let the server handle the displeasure of the customer. I later stewed over the fact that he cannot come over to us and do his "managerial" job the right way, so I asked for the server to bring him to us. He approached 10 mins later simply saying hello. I addressed him by his name in which he did not tell me it nor did he offer a hand shake greeting. I made it clear that we felt slided by his lack of knowledge for customer service. I told him we are aware he let the server handle the problem and asked why he did nothing. His response was simply that he has a good relationship with that server and decided to talk to her about it. I said I think you need to focus on the relationships with your customers, as that is very important. The food was OK, a bit over priced. They run things by the corporate book there. They make limited substitutions & lunch menu is limited. Do not look for prime steaks at lunch time. Why you ask??? No one there can answer that either. Corporate ran operation and corporate management who have probably never served a dish but instead read about how to serve one in a text book and it shows. Save your time, go to Gibson's Steakhouse! Atmosphere & food is much more palatable !

I really REALLY wanted to give this place a great review, but, even as much as I hyped it in my mind, I couldn't talk myself into loving it here! :( I start with the positives... The brusetta, I wont lie, was great. Perfect toasted bread for putting the big chunks of marinated tomatoes on...very good. Dessert was very yummy also. Flourless Chocolate Truffle cake...oh man, it tasted like fudge...yum. As for the rest of the menu, I felt lost. I didn't know what to get, nothing really popped out at me...like "have me for dinner tonite!!" ... and that made me sad. After too much scanning,I decided to have the Pork Chops, Itailian style. And although they were cooked well, and had a good flavor, there was a 'oomph' that was missing. My Mom had the 18oz dry aged bone in rib eye. First bite...AMAZING...well it better be for $45.00...but there were Grissely parts. A little too many Grissely parts, as mom put it...and that cant be worth $45. Dad had the Prime Rib, he had no complaint's, as I wouldn't either, it was tender and tasted really good. The BF had their "famous" Chicken Vesiuvio. It fell below my standards, and I kinda wished it had tomato sauce poured all over it. Service was good. Our waiter even gave my mom a chef's jacket because I believe they keep it around 50 degrees in this place. (Ladies...keep this in mind) Our bill was $160.00 for 4 people, but unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the charge. 3 Stars

I really wanted to ignore previous reviewers on here because my best friend is in love with this place. He is a die hard Cubs fan and is borderline obsessive, but he swears that it is because of the steak that brings him back and not the nostalgia and memorabilia. After eating at this establishment I can attest that the low score is worthy and honest. I will never come back to this restaurant. I went here a week ago on a Friday night for a friend's birthday dinner. It was snowing very bad and my wife and I arrived late. Our other party members had a drink at the bar. The moment we arrived the hostess rushed us from the bar to our table. We all were a little surprised because we weren't ready to be seated as we all wanted to just enjoy a drink at the bar. All of us commented on how rushed we felt. There were 10 of us at the table, and the waiter took our order. He wasn't unattentive, but he really wasn't stellar either. I was starving when I got to the restaurant and was hoping that they served bread. I was told by my friend that they did, but they only served it after you placed the appetizer order. I was amazed by this because I thought it was ludicrous. I understand that you want people to order your appetizers but if an appetizer is interesting and sounds good I'm going to order it regardless of the bread. So I sat there starving until we finally got our drinks, and then waited until he came back to take our appetizer order. Low and behold, like clockwork he came out with bread right after the order. We had the crab cakes which were eh? Nothing spectacular. I had the veal parmigiana. The veal was OK, the spaghetti underneath it was something else. It was embarrassing for spaghetti, so much so that Olive Garden is probably better. I tried my friends steak which wasn't anything extraordinary. Of course my friend also eats his steak well done which I think is a tragedy. I told him he is ripping himself off paying 40 dollars for a well done steak, but he insists he likes it. I had a half a bottle of wine, I was in a budget conscious mood so I got the cheapest merlot. It actually was not bad and deemed it a good value. However the waiter never really asked people if they wanted another drink or how we were doing throughout the meal, which our party commented on. We would have spent more money had they only asked lol. The only redeeming quality about this place are the pictures of people who have eaten there that are conversation starters and their martinis. They make a good dirty Bombay martini. 2 stars. 1 for the drinks 1 for the decor

We were a table of three and we ordered from three separate catagories. We started out with the breaded mozzarella marinara. Absolutely delicious! Cut into medallions instead of the usual sticks. My son had chicken parmesan, the hubby had a filet and I had a veggie burger. I know....who goes to an Italian steakhouse and orders a veggie burger!!!!! All were generous portions and cooked to perfection. The server was very knowledgable about the menu and, something that I haven't run across in any other restaurant before, bought a tray of the cuts of meat they offer and what qualities each one had. As a vegetarian, I didn't care, but the hubs was very interested and based his order on the one he liked the most from the demo. The other perk that I liked was we could order from the steakhouse OR the Holy Mackeral menu (the fish half of the Harry Carey restaurant chain). It was a little pricey, but if you're a Chicago baseball and Harry Carey fan, it's a great place to go. They even have a store that sells various Carey related items. Make sure you peruse the wall of celebrity photos on your way out. Two words........Burt Reynolds!!!!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
