Potbelly Sandwich Shop

I love Potbelly for it's tasty toasted sammiches and malts, but if the taste itself doesn't get you, the low-prices for lunch will. It's a freaking madhouse during lunch time due to it's close proximity to Hewitt and Stevenson High School.
What can I say about this place, I went to DePaul back in the day and used to eat at the original location on Lincoln Ave. My daughter's first sandwich was a turkey on white from the Clybourn location. Well she was a bit young, so I only fed her the turkey meat. They make the BEST toasted sandwiches period! I even took some coworkers to a location in Dallas, during a client visit. As many chains, they have good days and bad, but overall this is my choice for a meatball, chx salad or roast beef sandwich. The only drawback is their kid size sandwiches are tiny and therefore somewhat overpriced. We eat at their many locations about 30 times a year.
Pulled pork . Eh way to lean. I think a nice piece of Brisket would have been a better choice

Love it. The steak with parmesan crust is outstanding. Crab stuffed shrimp is awesome. I even love the bread. A little pricey but good.
Staff is always friendly, food is consistent as expected from a lettuce entertain you location.
My absolute fav place to go. Check out the happy hour throughout the week. Totally worth it. Best drink at bar? Stormy night, yummy!!!

Naf Naf Grill

Reviews:
Naf Naf is not for me. Let me preface this by saying that in general, Mediterranean food is not usually my first pick. However, I'm a BIG fan of Firewood Kabob and I won't usually turn down Roti. I visited Naf Naf for lunch with coworkers. Following their lead, I got a rice bowl with chicken schwarma and picked all the "usual" ingredients I get from other Mediterranean restaurants. It was a safe order for me - something that sounded and looked familiar. I'm not a very picky eater, but I didn't want to finish my lunch. There was nothing great about it, and I wasn't a fan of the flavor. However, I will say that the pita was outstanding. If I go there again with coworkers, I might get like five pitas and maybe a little hummus. Now that I think about it, I might have to try that and update my review after doing so...
The only thing I can do fairly here in my opinion is to compare Naf Naf to Roti. Honestly, I love them both but each does certain things better than the other. Since I am reviewing Naf Naf, I will say outright that I like their hot sauce a lot better. It's green and hot and flavorful And, if I wasn't trying to cut down on carbs I would probably like their pita better. But I am and their enormous pita, while tempting, is too much. I like that Roti differentiates the size of the pita depending on whether you order a sandwich or a rice plate or salad. Plus I enjoy the Israeli salad here better, but both are good. The reason Roti wins overall is that they offer more than shawarma and falafel as entree proteins. Plus they offer more variety in sides. Regardless, this is a very decent place to have a meal.
The place was so so. Nothing terrible, but nothing was outstanding. Like a Lebanese chipotle. Was not a huge fan of the naf naf fries. A bit over priced for the quality.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

960 Milwaukee Ave.

Reviews:
Even though I don't typically like to go to chain restaurants, I have been eager to try Fleming's for awhile as I had heard some good things about the group. This Fleming's is about 8 miles from me and having recently received a $50 off card from American Express, I now had a great reason to check it out. I called in advance to ensure I could have dinner at the bar as the coupon noted that it was for the dining room only. The hostess that answered was very polite and said that she thought the stipulation was included so people didn't use the coupon for their happy hour special, which as other reviewers have noted is quite a deal. So I headed over and sat down at the bar when I arrived, showed the bartender my coupon and no problem. Thumbs up! Decided to review the menu for a decent wine to go with steak, which I was planning on ordering. Mentioned that to the bartender, he offered me a glass of Artemis @ $15 / glass - normally sold only by the bottle there for $113. After a taste, I decided to go with it - great recommendation from the bartender. I also like how they decanter even the "by the glass" wine orders - very nice. Good wine list overall as well. For dinner I ordered a mushroom ravioli appetizer - it came out and tasted exactly as I envisioned it. Three raviolis, fairly large with an excellent sauce and some small amounts of shaved cheese over the top. Great start to a meal. Followed that up with a filet mignon and some green beans. The filet was cooked medium rare as ordered and was pretty good - I have had better steaks before, but this one was nothing to complain about. The green beans were cooked as advertised and made an excellent accompaniment to the steak. The green beans were a little pricey for the size of the order however. Bread came out a little late, just before dinner. It was served with two butter spreads; a white cheddar and a dried tomato. The dried tomato spread popped out of the ramekin when I cut into it - the flavor was also hard to identify. I ended up using more of the white cheddar spread. Finished off dinner with Fonseca port wine - a good choice. Overall, a good experience at this Fleming's. As other reviewers noted, the lights are a little low, but that was fine by me. Pricey - yes - my bill was still $40 after the $50 discount and not including tip. But I would have paid the same or more at a steakhouse of similar quality, so as the segment goes, the price was as expected. I'll be back - the happy hour does look like a great deal and I do plan to try it sometime.
I thought flemings was good, but overpriced. I'd rather spend that money on ruth's chris or morton's, or some place downtown with better steak. I didnt like that the server came out with plates on top of each other so my steak touched the bottom of another plate, ewww. I liked my ribeye, but honestly didnt think it was anything special. The ambience is nice, wait staff was nice. I dont think i'd go back, i'd even choose wildfire over flemings.
This review is specific to the bar area. A co-worker and I decided to grab a drink hafter our long flight and decided to try Flemings as we were both hankering for a good glass of wine and they are known to have a robust selection. We both decided to try two different reds on the HH menu. Neither wine was exactly what we expected, but they were good. The bartender was super friendly and offered up some chips, which were amazing! I would be willing to have supper here sometime and check it out.

So sad to hear the Lincolnshire location closed last Saturday , May 2nd. Food was superb as was the service. Our group is now looking for an alternative restaurant that meets your high standards. Audrey and Charlie Van Eeckhout
Hadn't been here in awhile and was really looking forward to the flatbread. Happy to see a Go For 2 option so ordered the tomato & goat cheese on wheat flatbread and a tomato basil soup. We also ordered bruchetta and calamari which both ended up being really tasty and the best part of the meal. Food came fast and the service was fine. Just really disappointed in the dryness and lack of flavor of the flatbread. Not what I remembered. Some good, some not so much. I think I will go for the pasta next time.
Go there for lunch quite frequently since it's right next to my job. I always get the "go for 2" special so I can get 2 small portions. My fav is the pepperoni pizza and the roma chopped salad (have to balance my calories! Lol) I am part of their free "rewards" program however I feel like I dont get anything free anymore. The program has changed so much I dont even know how it works!

Waited for soooooo long for our food and we waited for soooooo long for our check. Come on now. We were on our lunch break. It wasn't even busy. The sushi and sashimi isn't good either. I felt so groggy after eating there. Not coming back.
A great stop... Sunday brunch offers terrific variety of fresh, made-to-order dishes -- sushi, unique appetizers and hot entrees alike -- prepared by Simon himself. Quality is in no way compromised by the all-you-can eat format. If you're from, or familiar with the area from years ago, don't let its heritage as a converted Denny's dissuade you from checking out the pleasant, sophisticated dining experience among a great staff focused on leaving you with a new place to add to your list of "return for sure" establishments. We're going to try their catering as well. I've never written a restaurant review before. Motivating me to do so reflects how much I liked Simon Lin's.
We have been at Simon Lins many times. Lins chicken and Yu shang chicken are outstanding. Their waitress Karen is terrific. She knows the menu well and makes sure you order what is best for you. Be sure to ask for her and she will take good care of you. Piano on weekends.

Service in bar area is awful.
The atmosphere was ok, but nothing to brag about. Our waitress Robin was a sweetheart, but the food was meh. We started off with seared ahi tuna which had this terribly overpowering mustard and ginger sauce. The garlic meatballs were tasty. I had the lobster and shrimp bisque which was extremely peppery tasting and watery. He has the Cesar salad which was nothing impressive. I had the new York strip steak Oscar style, which was tasty but also quite salty. He had the filet which was supposed to be stuffed with mushrooms, but instead was just covered in them. And the sides, garlic horseradish mashed and white cheddar augraten potatoes were either overpowering or just ok. The desert was very disappointing. I was so looking forward to bananas foster bread pudding, and it had no flavour at all. Where was the bananas foster part?! Honestly, I would never go back there. It was way over-priced and the food was mediocre at best. Flemmings was exponentially better and worth the cost.

Stopped in for a quick bagel-sandwhich after leaving my Dr's office, which is two doors down! Am so happy I did! This place is great! Large, clean, and plenty to offer. Not just bagels to go. You can get all kinds of different bagel sandwiches and stuff. Yay! CAn't wait to come back! The help was nice, and they got me in and out so fast!
usually this place is on its game and working up to par. Today....wow. took 1/2 hour to get 2 bagels with toppers. When we got them, wow... 3 skinny strawberry slices (total of maybe 1 whole strawberry) were given, the granola was negligible, hot mess and very very disappointing. I will never buy this option again, ever. the drinks were nicely made eventually. The first guy was new and no idea how to make the drinks....how about training your new employees??? gets a two because other days they are at par...
Not sure what's up with this location... The photo of the lox sandwich on the menu board shows a bagel half with three nice pieces of lox on it (i.e., each half). I got one half with ONE piece which didn't even cover half of the bagel, and a second half with two skimpy pieces which covered the surface of the bagel but which were mangled and paper-thin. What's up with that? Wife's bagel had so little cream cheese, she spent more time moving the little bit there was around with a knife rather than eating. Arl. Hts. location has always been good. This one, nope. How about actually giving me what I'm paying for...?

We had an absolutely terrible time at this restaurant. Sat there 15 minutes with no water nor menus. Then a waiter came with the menus, we had to ask for the water, and he took drink orders. When they still hadn't come 10 minutes later, we called the manager and he took our meal order and drink order again, and still had to wait 5 minutes for the drinks. When the food finally came it was amazing, wonderful, but the service was bottom rung - below Dennys. They want us to come back to "show us how well they treat customers" - we probably will take them up on the offer, but so far we're VERY underwhelmed.
We had dinner here after a show at the theater; since this is a popular post-show spot since it is so convenient, there was a bit of a line to get in even with reservations, but it moved along pretty well. They seemed a little understaffed to handle the post-show crowd, and so service was a little slow, but our server was apologetic about this, and we weren't in a hurry. The food is traditional, but nicely done. I had a spinach salad with goat cheese, dried cherries, and pecans; the small size was perfect for a starter, and at $4, I certainly had no complaints! I had the grilled trout for my entree, which came stuffed with shredded vegetables and a hefty amount of fresh garlic. I like vegetables and garlic, so this worked well for me, but the menu does not indicate the fish is prepared this way, so just a heads up if you don't like garlic! The fish was cooked perfectly. The sides of green beans and parsley potatoes were good, and simply, but nicely, seasoned. The dessert menu was also fairly traditional but the item that was a little different and fun was the gelato. The menu does not state this, but the gelato, in whichever three flavors are selected, comes in three little cones. This is one of the cutest desserts I've had in a while. The flavors were all good, and our server noted the gelato is made in house. Our server was nice, and clearly working very hard to try to keep up with the post-show crowd. Again, since we weren't in a hurry, we had no issue with things being a little slow, but I'd suggest allowing at least 2 hours for a pre or post show dinner just to be safe!
Father's Day Brunch was horrifically overpriced & similar to the standard "free breakfast" you might get at a hotel with a night's stay. In fact, this WAS the free breakfast. We just had the misfortune of paying $20/per person for it. This place USED to have an amazing brunch. We won't be back.

I used to be a HUGE fan of Noodles & Co. until their menu changed. My favorite was always the penne noodles and marinara sauce with flaky parmesan cheese, but they don't even have that option on the menu anymore. Stopped at this location today - Penne Rosa is spicy!! Got a side salad for $1 extra but there was quite a bit of dressing on it. No me gusta. My favorite part of this was that I received the "Most Polite of the Day" award! I am assuming that he was the manager, but he complimented on how polite I was and let me have a sweet treat because of it. It absolutely made my day :)
Free noodle on my bday . 4 cheeses with mushroom spinach chicken and tomatoes . Tomato basil bisque is always good I do like to add milk to it at home a little heavy on the salt . Giant cookie yum
Simply good. Something quick and not half bad. The entire family gets what they want.
