This place is the bomb! The aroma outside gives it all away - real hickory wood smoke over babyback ribs baby! The hotlinks (savory rather than overly spicy,) and the golden brown wings - you should know I do the combos. The coleslaw is just tangy sweet enough to tickle the palette. The manager Trina was kind and curteous. The Pit-master gave a wink and sent over a small taste when I complemented the smell. I loved the experience and expect i will return as often as my diet will allow

Horrible..there was hair in my food. Not one piece of hair but a couple of pieces. I called they offered to exchange for another order. However, I was as instructed to bring the food in that had the hair in it to confirm my story. I stood in line on my lunch break to get my food replace while holding the food with the hair in it.

Service was awful, the lady was really rude. It was my first time and was contemplating on what to pick and asked some questions the lady complete ignored me and gave me attitude. The food was not bad, it was decent. But sue to the service I won't be coming back anytime soon.

Ahhh Kenny's on the South Side. I love the fact that when you go in here the cashier would rather shoot you in the face than take your order, it's just part of the ambiance. On my recent visit I ordered a large tip and thanked the cashier and she just ripped the receipt off and threw it at me essentially. Yes feel the hate, I just don't care though because when I look over at the giant charcoal filled smoker I know I'm in for some good ass tips. Now some of you would ask why would you settle for such shitty service, in fact they are more efficient than McDonalds when it comes to serve time, they just hate you and that's fine. There isn't much I like about the hood, but damn the food is good. Tips are always amazing with their smokey goodness and that damn sauce, it's how it should be done. Keep hating your life guys as long as you deliver on the goods of course I'll be back..

Dude! Dude!!! This place is really good. Exceptionally good. A normal Kenny's experience through my eyes: I roll up on Torrence Ave. and start smelling something wonderful. No, it's not me. Then I see the smoke pouring out of the top of the building and start drooling (don't judge, I usually have a napkin handy). I pull into the parking lot, get out of the car and do some sort of celebratory giggle/arm motion/leg kick and walk inside. I order a full slab of ribs...plus another half...the full, in mild BBQ, the half slab in hot because I like to live dangerously. Once I receive my order, I scamper home causing any number of traffic accidents due to preoccupation with rib fantasies. I eat the hot first, enjoying the mix of pleasure and pain. Then I quickly move on to the full slab to douse the fire. These things come dripping in sauce, sitting on a bed of fries, with a couple pieces of white bread to mop up the plate, and really good slaw. I usually wake up on my kitchen table some time in the early am covered in delicious sauce, but that's for another conversation. I have two words for you: GET SOME. Two more: RIGHT NOW.

What the PLUCK?! (A play on words, please don't be offended.) But there were feathers in my chicken wings! I'm not a hard critic and I usually write fair reviews, but Kenny's Ribs & Chicken should consider changing their name. Okay maybe not, but the food I ordered was less than palatable. I used a Groupon that was expiring, to buy a half slab of ribs, fries & cole slaw. The ribs were hard as cardboard. I threw it away. I wasted money on a Groupon. It's not the end of the world, so I chucked it up as a lesson learned. My Lesson: never order from Kenny's Ribs & Chicken again. And speaking of chicken. My wings were hard! And I prefer my chicken with less feathers. Wait, I prefer no feathers at all! There was hardly any sauce on the chicken. And the fries were desert dry...and BURNT! They tasted old and reheated. I gave one star for the cole slaw. That was actually the star of my meal. And the Pinot I was drinking {insert smiley face}. I also gave another star for the sauce. It was decent but nothing worth Googling trying to find the recipe. My advice: order at your own risk.

The ribs were dried out and the sauce was watered down AND the food was not hot. Not going back. Used to go here all the time.

Went there on Christmas day because I was really craving chicken but no place was open besides this place. Walked in and already noticed things I did not like. The cooking area is kind of open so you can see what is going on. No one was wearing gloves or hair mats(-2). service was not friendly (could be because it was Christmas and they wanted to go home I would be friendly if I worked on Christmas). I ordered the 4 piece chicken. reasonable price for a start up business. got home and started eating and guess what, there was a hair in my food (-1). usually places give you a reason amount of fries, not this place (-1). sauce was good and the chicken was normal. I ordered the southern fried chicken, but it just taste like regular chicken from any other place. I still support black own businesses no matter what. hope this reviews get to the manager and they do something about it

Know that I have weakness for BBQ Hot Links. Seeing Kenny's and knowing it is well known BBQ Joint I had to stop. The smell of smoked meat welcomed me in once I opened the door. The place was clean, well maintained and generally welcoming. Once inside it was easy to see the menu and I notice the large Link meal. Before ordering I asked the counter lady was it hot I mean spicy hot what she replied yes then I asked if I could mix it to get 2 hot links & one mild link. I was told no that was not possible which was a bit disappointing. So I went ahead and ordered the hotlink meal which came with three hot links, sauce, three pieces of bread and an order of fries all in one container. I give them credit for just putting sauce over the hot links and not smothering the fries in sauce which is normal most barbecue places. The links were perfectly Done all cooked even looked and tasted wonderful the one downside is that their really wasn't a hint of heat spicy heat in the actual hot links. All in all was a flavorful sausage which I would encourage you to try just don't expected it to actually be spicy hot like the hot links that you expect if you bought a Johnsonville or something

My husband and I have been ordering from this location for many years. Today I received the worst service ever. I originally placed order over the telephone and asked for no bread in each order, not only because we don't eat it, but it sticks to my fries and removes the sauce from some of my food. I paid for my order and stepped to table to look at my order because I didn't want to hold up the cashier area and because i don't live close enough to want to drive back for mistakes. Sure enough, bread in each container. I took food back to cashier and nicely asked if the bread could be taken off and more sauce added. The cook who was a heavy-set light skinned black woman yelled very rudely "WE don't take no food back that leave the counter" I explained that I initially asked for no bread in each order, and she's still yelling we don't take it back. The cashier said to the cook the ticket says no bread, the cook is still rambling on while looking at the ticket, then replies "well i didnt see that" with still much attitude and the rolling of eyes the cook snatched the bread off and walked off. I don't have time to argue, it's ghetto and no reason to because she made a mistake and wanted to be loud and argue with me back and forth in front of many other customers. I just took my orders, went to car and called to speak with manager. The manager was just as bad as her ignorant cook who's unhappy with her life. She apologized after I told her I didn't receive an apology because her cook read the ticket incorrectly and was loud and ignorant towards me. I explained to her that is the problem in our communities, we don't care how we to talk to or treat one another. That's when the young manager got upset and defended the way her ignorant cook treated me. After all the years patronizing kennys in Calumet City, I will never go back, and will share with my family and friends. I refuse to be treated the way I was treated today and spend my money in such an atmosphere, not to mention the food is always hit or miss. I have never been treated this way before anywhere. I was even more upset when I got home and my rib tips were cold with warm sauce over them, my husband's tips were dry and chewy, my daughter's turkey links were the only thing that tasted fine, oh and reheated, rubbery fries sitting in grease with sauce; feeling sick. The bottom line is, i wasted money on not so good food and terrible service which included being humiliated in front of many other customers. I'm surprised they didnt walk out; i had a friend on hold on my cell phone that even heard the conversation that asked where in the world was i that someone would talk so rudely to a customer. I will drive further to I57 or Famous Dave's even though I live in Dyer, Indiana, from this day forward. Quality and great service truly means more. I only gave one star because there was no option for no star. Do not eat here, customers do not matter here.

Kenny's use to be the place I go for ribs and hot links but they just aren't as good as the smell any more! My rib tips were hard and I couldn't eat my fries because they were soaked in the sauce! The hot links were okay but if you remember what they use to be you will know the quality wasn't the same! They had some other food that they were trying to get people to sample but no one including myself wanted to sample that dry and old looking food at least while I was there! They have raised the price and given you less it's sad but I won't be back!

I am a long time patron of Kenny's; these ribs are from my childhood. However, the recent closing of both Chicago Kenny's (87th & Stony and Hyde Park and even Aurora (imagine that)) left me pondering whether I'd ever eat ribs again. Imagine my astonishment when my husband's work led to the discovery of a Kenny's in the south suburbs. We ordered for take out a small link and an order of ribs, both with mild sauce. And unlike at the Aurora location, my European-American ( :) ) husband was not asked if he wants sauce on his fries! We returned home, tore open the bag, and proceeded to chow down. Their ribs are St. Louis and come with the standard bread and little cup of cole slaw. The ribs and the fries from this location were good (and of course the cole slaw). But what stands out about Kenny's in general is the sauce, it is excellent. It is so good, that many of my college afternoons were spent eating fries with sauce (still one of my favorites). In addition, Kenny's hot links are like the only ones I will eat. However, at this location, the hot links were not the best as they seemed somewhat reheated. I will give them another try with the hotlinks. Overall, this is a good Kenny's.

We got a large combo(tip and link) and I thought it was a small. Yes, I understand that some have downsized portions due to the economy, but C'mon Kenny if you're going to do that downsize the price too! Enough complaining, just don't get your BBQ fix here.

Sketchy location at night but open late.. I ordered the wrong meal and only liked the hot links. It was late at night and the tips were barely edible. I had high hopes that were quickly dashed upon eating..

The service was ok but Kenny's not like it used to be. Got old rib tips today. Used to getting fresh food. Will not be back.

Customer service need some work. Need to understand the people is what keep the business open. Have to ask to look at rib tips before bagging it, have to ask for chicken to be cooked fresh if not taste like have been sitting for hours so hard because its dried out. Check your order before leaving. If you did not receive what you paid for, call in to inform beware its like pulling teeth.

OMG Is all I can say. I am one that likes to try new things all the time so I search for new places about once a week to try new. This place I will def be a repeat offender of this establishment. I decided to go in to place my order instead of over the phone and I am so glad I did the smell when you walk in is simply amazing!!! The staff was very helpful and happy that this was my first visit. When I returned home my husband was and always is very unsure of my choices as always but his first bite he was totally in awe. I ordered the combo ribs and chicken with hot sauce figured I would venture out. I ordered the whole BBQ Chicken with Hot BBQ Sauce for my Husband and a large order of hot links. I asked after his first bite and he was completely amazed!!! He said it was the perfect amount of seasoning. We are stuffed !!! Plus we have enough for another meal or for me two. Like I said we will def be returning to this amazing place.
