La Familia has an interesting selection of American, Mexican-American, and more authentic Mexican fare. My +1 and I were a little thrown off by some of the combinations listed on the menu - burritos WITH fries? Italilan beef? Gyros? Hmm. We decided to go a *little* more authentic - he got a chicken burrito and I got a steak chimichanga. Prior to our entrees arriving we were given a little bowl of chicken soup (alright, but bland) and your standard chips and salsa (both tasty). Both burritos arrived steaming hot (awesome) but lacked in flavor (not so awesome). The burritos came with lettuce, which of course wilts and takes on a not-so-appetizing flavor and texture. If I were ever to eat here again, I'd be sure to order mine without. The rice that accompanied the dishes was fresher than most Am-Mex places I've eaten at. The service was good. I can't complain at the $16.50 before-tip bill, but the fare left a lot to be desired.
