Great pizza, fast service and a great price, love coming to this place. The service is fast and polite as well. I made a comment on my last visit about how I liked my pizza cut into pie slices, the waitress remembered and actually told me she would get it the way I liked, awesome!

This is a very good restaurant. It is not too busy and a quick stop. The pizza is delicious and they have various sizes of pizza. The green pepper I had on my pizza was not all shriveled up and weird like if you were to bake it at home- it is in between crunchy and not. This is an overall very good restaurant and I really like to go here.

Hands down our favorite pizza. We drive from Peoria every couple of weeks for their perfection of pizza. I can't decide if it's the amazingly pillowy soft pizza crust that manages to always be perfect or their amazing pizza sauce that definitely does not come from a can. Always had top-notch service! On a busy Friday or Saturday night there may be somewhat of a wait, but hey, I'll wait for that pizza anyway. We always stop next door for the delicious ice cream for dessert ; )

My experiences at The Pizza Peel mirror Lacey's earlier review: while the pizza is usually very good, the service is just plain lousy. Whether the place is packed or it's just a few tables, the kitchen is bustling with employees while there's usually one or two servers trying to juggle too much. The end result is often waiting long periods without drink refills and cold food. Lately, the Kitchen Sink pizza has had an odd, melted plastic taste as well. No disrespect to the servers, they are usually very nice and try hard, they just need to have more of them and do some customer service training. Last visit, we joked that the best option might be to order carry out, come in and pick it up, then order drinks and get a table - definitely would reduce the unnecessary wait time!

We are sticking to the Calzone's and Cheese Bread. The chicken wings were also great, just wish I could get some hot wings "with" the sauce on the wings. Not a fan of dipping.

Fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere, service lacking horribly.... The Peel is our go-to pizza place. The food is always great and it's different (in a good way) from other pizza places in the area. We love the fact it's close(r) to home but lately have just been ordering carry out because the service is really lacking each time we dine-in. Rather the place is booming or we're the only customers around we've ran into the same problems again and again---waiting forever to be seated, forgotten drinks, lost waitresses, lack of refills, and even cold pizza from sitting on the counter too long. The magic of the business happens in the back....and gets lost in transition on it's way to the table. I wasn't a bit surprised when I read the previous review of the waitress putting up a fight. I'm in love with the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and the BBQ feast. I'd also recommend the Hawaiian to anyone that normally likes that flavor. My husband continues to go back for the calzones and raves each time. We've also been known to order the Carnivore's Delight---which is good for your meat lover---and we've tried the Italian Beef Pizza---which is a different twist. The salads are fresh and not your typical cheap-o iceberg lettuce. The Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich is also very good. But I do wish they'd cut down on the salt on their flat bread. We'll continue to carry out from the Pizza Peel but it's getting harder to spend the extra money on drinks and tips when their service is continuously "meh" at best. I hope they turn that around because they really have a great thing going!

Great pizza, great service. Can't say enough good things about this place. Consistently wonderful. Worth the drive from Peoria!

TOTALLY worth the drive from Peoria. Service is always attentive without hovering, the food is delicious, everything is made fresh before your eyes! My only complaint is that they don't deliver to Peoria (haha, 35 miles away).

Great pizza & great service. Wish they would open one up north by Libertyville. We will definitely go back often. Keep up the great work. Thin crust was spectacular.

They have great pizza! The Mediterranean is my favorite. I've always had great service and even ordering carry out it's never been more than 20 minutes. However, I was a little taken back when I used a gift certificate there. I had a $25 gift certificate and my pizza total was $18. The girl checking me out said that she cant give me change. I expected to not be given cash back, but i thought she would write the new balance on the gift certificate. She said she wasn't allowed to do that. I explained i'm not giving you $25 for a pizza that only cost $18. Finally, she scratched the old amount and put my new amount of $6 something. I asked her for a receipt so I could be sure to attach it to my gift certificate and she wouldn't give me a receipt. I was confused, who doesn't give you a receipt when you ask? I have a feeling when I try to use my "$6" it wont be valid. This is a shame because I actually purchased $100 worth of gift certificates for $50 through 97.3 deals... I guess i need to purchase $25 worth of food next time so ensure all my money is being used.

We live in Peoria but drive here whenever we can. This pizza is so good. They start with dough they make...nothing frozen here. Place was packed on this Friday night. But we still got a seat right away. The cheese bread is good, basically a small cheese pizza with the sauce on the side. I ordered the kitchen sink...which is basically every topping on one pizza. Delicious. I prefer the hand tossed crust, the perfect combination of crust, toppings, and sauce. I have never tried the thin. I appreciate the gluten free option...but I know those crusts are bought and not made on site. We don't drink alcohol there only because of the drive home after...so I can't comment on that. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Nice to find a locally-owned pizza joint in a cozy town. The pizza is decent and the service is friendly.

Driving from Peoria was only about a 20-25 minute jaunt but I think it drove my expectations up as well so I wasn't quite as impressed with the pizza as I wanted to be. We got here early (5:30-ish) on a Friday so it was not too busy but by the time we left, the place was packed! It's extremely low key here with No Name wine (probably from a box) and rather flat glasses of beer. In the spirit of adventure, we tried BBQ chicken and Italian Beef pizzas. We got thin crust on both and in retrospect, should've gotten the regular/pan crust on the Italian. The Italian was very sourish tasting from the giardiniera liberally sprinkled over it but not in a bad way. I think the thicker crust would've more closely resembled an actual Italian sandwich and would've maybe had more toppings. I felt like the toppings were a little sparse due to how thin the crust was. Any more toppings and it would've been soggy. The waitress was very attentive and brought numerous glasses of beer. If I found myself out that way for another reason, I would definitely stop in again but would'nt make the drive just for the Peel again.
