Did they ever replenish their flour tortilla supply? I gave up going here after being told three separate times they were out of flour tortillas. I haven't been back since early spring. I go just down the street to another amazing locally owned place.
Hands down best Mexican food in K3 area. Great portions, not expensive, and good variety. This place needs to be visited. Do not be thrown off by the tiny dining room.
Hands down they have the best Guacamole around! Super fresh, large portion for the price and the tacos pastor are unbelievable. When I order for pick up I always order extra ones for the next day. I could eat their tacos pastor for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So addicting! Oh and the prices are crazy cheap, great mexican food!

Nana’s 2! Cakery & Cafe

150 N Schuyler Ave
Kankakee, 60901
Reviews:
this place is wonderful. the staff is always friendly and the cafe is always cozy. I recommend the strawberry frozen lemonade or the frozen salted caramel drinks. my favorite is the chicken salad wrap as well as the grilled cheese. reasonable prices, too. check them out!
Nana's does a basic frosted sugar cookie that is really delicious. I've had it a number of times, which is what brought me to Nana's 2. It's a quaint lunch spot in K3, and a fair option if you want something more than Jimmy John's. The food is decent, as are the cupcakes, but they're nothing special. I wasn't really wow-ed by my caesar wrap and cupcake. While I appreciate the effort, the cupcake flavors seem to come from artificial ingredients, and I would prefer something fresher. The good news is that Nana's still makes that knockout frosted sugar cookie, and I'll stick with it.
This is a great local place to go for lunch. It can be a tad pricey, but you get a ton on food. I took my leftovers home and had them for dinner!

Our favorite pizza in town. Every weekend we order. The Johnny's Special deep dish is the best deep dish in town. Also a great spot for a quick inexpensive lunch. Single slices available. Quick and easy. Definitely recommend.
Great neighborhood pizza joint. Good pizza, nice owner, great food. We love the deep dish pizza the best! Only thing I ask is that you make jalapeño peppers an option too.
I love Johnny's pizza. Their homemade Italian Ice is great too! Fast delivery, and if you're dining in the service is always great too. I highly recommend for a quick lunch!

Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

1545 W Court St
Kankakee, 60901
Reviews:
Ten years ago this place was a five star. It was a tiny hole in the wall that served a $4.95 lunch buffet that was small but absolutely delicious. Sometimes you couldn't get a table because of the crowds, mainly staff from the two nearby hospitals. Now the place is triple the size, and while still all right, not as good. They changed a few if their best recipes and eliminated the pork buns that might have been the best menu item. The buffet is now all day and generally fresh. Again, this is still a pretty good place but not the little dumpy Chinese gem it once was.
Hands down the best Chinese buffet in town! Food is kept in rotation and always fresh and flavorful! Their spinach and cream cheese pastries and out of this world!
Great sea food selection, great prices, friendly staff! Take-out is one fix price! Lunch buffet ends at 3:30. This place is very crowded during peak times. Best Chinese buffet in the Kankakee area! I would love to come and eat here whenever I pass through Kankakee!

Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders

RR 50
Kankakee, 60901
Reviews:
Mancino's might just be another sandwich shop, but it's not JUST another sandwich shop. This place rocks! I might also add that they have pizza too, but let's be honest. The grinders are the show-stopper. All of the grinders are toasted to perfection and have a layer of mayo, cheese, lettuce and tomato--but you can ask them to hold something if you don't like any of this. A half-grinder is all you need to satisfy, unless you plan on having leftovers or have an astronomical size appetite. I've tried a bunch of different grinders, but my two faves are the seafood and the roast beef combo. The seafood one is similar to the seafood salad you'd find at Subway but toasted. The roast beef combo has roast beef, turkey and ham chopped up into little pieces. So delicious! I must add that the service is unlike any other place you've gone. I've had the owner (or was he the manager??) wait on me a few times and he even said "Thank you so much for coming here today." It was as genuine as it comes and I thought that said a lot about this place. Sure, I can have a sandwich ANYWHERE so it's nice to be appreciated. The prices are a bit higher than say a 5 dollar footlong from Subway, but it's completely worth the splurge. Dare I say this place is BETTER than Subway?!
I looove me some grinders! My family has been ordering grinders from here for years and years. Their toasted bread covered in cheese and mayo (along with whatever sandwich contents underneath) are seriously the best things on earth. You can't go wrong with whatever you choose, but the chicken, steak and seafood are my favorites. They have an option where you can pick a combo of either 1/4 grinder, half salad, soup, etc. Their salads are really fresh and tasty (get the bacon vinaigrette!!). They also deliver, but at times the expected delivery can reach 1+ hours. Make sure to plan ahead!
Great place good food good service I like the grinders and the offers I get when I signed up for the texts . I have been going to Mancinos for years meet the owner very nice person this place really takes care of there customers

Jr’s Chicken

Reviews:
Total dive and you MUST go there for lunch! Very good chicken on the lunch buffet and the BEST chicken soup the I've ever had in a restaurant. (made with the leftovers from the day before) Great prices too!
Best fried chicken in the area, but I'll never understand why people like their macaroni salad so much. It has a really bitter aftertaste.
Little gem in small town Kankakee. Chicken is fresh, tender and seasoned to perfection. Not salty at all.

Can't believe we haven't been to this place before!!! They had a very unique menu with lots of things I'd love to try. I had the roasted duck and it was amazing. Very tender!! The best thing was that it was underpriced. I don't get a meal like that at some places I spend twice the money. Oh and we had a great server as well. I will be returning!
- the reviews don't lie! - Came in for lunch was a little skeptical due to the lack of reviews but WOW I was impressed I ordered the sea bass $11 definitely the best value I have ever had for sea bass. Generous portion, cooked to perfection and the sauce
I had never been here and since my husband and I work just around the corner, we came for lunch. I didn't really have that high of expectations, honestly. But coming in from 9 degree temps, the space was warm and inviting. Seating is pretty limited but we came at a good time and didn't have to wait for a table. The restaurant is long and narrow but is broken up so it feels pretty intimate. My husband's favorite thing from America's Bistro (closed restaurant by the same owners) was their crab cakes with champagne sauce. Sadly they weren't on the menu, but "Seafood Cakes" were. I shyed away as "seafood" is too loosely used for my taste but my husband ordered it. I ordered from a "Build Your Own Pasta" menu (pick your noodle and sauce basically. I don't think there was an option to add a protein?) and had bow-tie pasta with brandy cream sauce. Food was very good. The seafood cakes were awesome and of course the housemade champagne sauce is always popular. My pasta was good and the brandy cream is a delicious alternative to alfredo. Very happy with our food selections. The restaurant was really busy and our service was slow, but friendly. It took a pretty long time for our food to come out. Our waiter brought out rolls after delivering our food, and it would have been nice if we had gotten them earlier so we had something to munch on during our wait. Overall the quality and price (for the lunch menu) was great. I would definitely come back.

This bar is one of only a few must-be-at bars in Kankakee. Later in the night is the best time to head here. They close early. Its a 2 or 3 am close. But its good. Sexy bartenders, hot women and decent drink specials. If you do any bar-hopping locally, towards the end of that night, everyone will be here. Its not a big place, go too late and its standing room only. Thank GOD guys down here don't do the too much cologne BS we deal with in Chicago. Bathrooms are in the back. Hardly any dance space, just dance in place. Lots of see and be seen action. Flirting can be easy. Good crowd mixture, all kinds of people found. Some Milfs too. There is a lot across the street, otherwise try street parking.
