Ok, you gotta try one of Sal's Cheese Steaks. OMG are these things awesome!! You won't find a better Cheese Steak in Chicago or the suburbs. If you used to go to his old place, the new place has the same GREAT food but the store front is better and larger. If you've never known about Sal, your missing out!! Get in here!! And they also have: hamburgers, hot dogs & polish, chicken sandwiches, Reuben's, po'boys, shrimp po'boys... And salads! If you come in here, make sure you say hi to Sal. He's a terrific owner who always has the customer satisfaction in mind.

I recently walked in and explained to Sal..."Hey...this is my first time, give me your best Cheesesteak". I thought reverse psychology might offer me the "red carpet" treatment and pack that Cheesesteak sandwich with meat and sautéed veggies to the point of explosion! Nope! Sal didn't bite. Apparently I don't know the right people or photographer because I received the "kid's" portion. Sal will spoil the shit out of you with kindness and hospitality, but he is not going to fill that 6' so-called infamous sandwich with steak! Not going to happen...

Super nice guy. The cheesesteak is okay at best. The fries are nasty. I would rather take the drive to the city for a great sandwich.

Omg I thought the service and food were going to be the same like his other spot on cicero. They were stingy with the meat fries were over cooked and the guys in the back looked like they were just messing around NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Love their gyros and buffalo chicken sandwich. Their fries are crispy and seasoned too. It gets busy around lunch time, so I recommend calling ahead. 4 stars because last time I called him ahead, no one answered. I called maybe 3 times within a half hour. I had to order there and the order took awhile to complete.

This was a great steak sandwich. If you plan to dine in go early or late or avoid busy times. There is no room to handle people sitting as well as people standing and ordering or waiting for their order to be done.

Staff is nice and accommodating but does not compare to other cheesesteak places. I was really hoping to like this place so I was sad it was such a disappointment. The steak was dry and kinda chewy and the fries were slightly soggy. I won't be back

Sal's is tucked in a small, overcrowded, corner strip mall. I don't think you notice if driving by, so hopefully word-of-mouth helps this business. Thanks to a few Yelp reviews, I had it bookmarked. We stopped by around noonish on a Saturday to get food to-go. There were a few people in front of us waiting, and a table of about 6 eating. It is a fast-food joint with about seating for 20. The menu is posted on the wall and prices are average for the food and area. Besides cheesesteak - they have hotdogs, hamburgers, beefs, etc - all the typical fast-food items. We opted for 6 inch regular cheesesteaks, and were splitting a large fry. It took about 10-minutes for food to be made, packed in stryfoam (yuck), and bagged. The cheesesteaks were good, not a lot of meat, but flavorful and the bread was so fresh. The fries sucked, really sucked - though they gave you a pound of them. Service is real friendly - 5 stars for that for sure!

If u like Philly cheesesteaks u have to go here NOW! He recently moved from 79th & Cicero, have know Sal for 10 years & he only makes top notch food. I'm not a big Philly cheese steak person but my husband is & I have to say I flip for his cheesesteaks & fries. Also he has the best gyro you'll ever have. Thanks Sal, ur the best!!

My first time trying a cheesesteak & from Sal's, my friend swore by this place as he'd been here a handful of times in the old and new location. Have to say that while the bread was soft and sunk into your teeth, and the cheddar cheese was ample....I did not care for the meat itself. Did not taste like 'steak' of any kind, but much more of a processed, beef sandwich type of meat...if that makes any sense. Meat was super thin, salty and the more bites I had, the more I thought...this not what a cheesesteak is supposed to taste like! Better quality meat would have made all the difference in the world....sorry Sal's!!

The absolute best cheese steak in Chicagoland I was heartbroken when I found out sal sold and was being told by new owners sal was on vacation needless to say I stopped going there as the food was less than par...lately I will check out new places and happened to stumble on this place I walked in and saw the man behind the counter and he looked eerily familiar and he explained about his old place I knew then that I found my guy ordered the footling cheese steak x2 (1 for the wife as well) man am I in heaven please sal don't ever move again

This is the new and improved location of Sal. He is the FORMER owner of Chicago Cheesesteak Company. We have been his customers for 6+ years. He is always good to his customers and his food and prices are super good and affordable. If you have seen this place and haven't tried it yet I suggest you stop in soon. You will not be disappointed. Order ahead for fast pickup or dine in and chat with Sal.

I enjoy their cheesesteaks and try to get them when they have the daily special. The sandwiches are very flavorful, but I do wish they had a little but more meat on them( you can always pay for extra). I live close to the location and like to order over the phone and come pick it up! They have great customer service here!!
