Friendly most of the time. The chicken on pita is hands down one of the best things you will ever eat in your life. The gyro plate is good. Fries are meh... The hots are good but it's a huge let down with the bun not having the poppyseed.

Jimmy's is the spot. It has been the spot and will always be the spot. I have been coming here since I was little and they still had the large awning over the parking lot. I no longer live in Illinois so the craving is intense and I come here before even making it home when I am in town. I walk in and go through the usual conflict - Do I get the Chicken on Pita, a wet beef, a hot dog special? On this last visit, I went with the Chicken on Pita and gravy bread. The food is notoriously cheap but the quality doesn't suffer. I also love that the same people have been taking my order here since day one. Please don't change!

My favorites from Jimmy's is their chicken on a pita. It has green peppers, grilled onions, and mozzarella cheese on it. DELICIOUS. They have an excellent gyro too. You'll be hooked on the chicken pita if you try it.

I had the gyros and fries. I must have come on an off day. Like I always do. It really wasn't that good. I asked for no onions and they must have thought I said, extra. No big deal, but it still didn't knock my socks off. The fries were soggy. Rude!

I love this place! When I used to live here we would eat there fairly often. And now everytime I fly into town...I never leave without eating something from Jimmy's. The food is great, people are nice and the service is quick and friendly! Definitely recommend eating here!

Still on my quest to find the perfect hot dog and fries. Riding by this place noticed the Vienna hot dog sign in the window, that is usually my first reason to stop in. No poppy seed bun and it seemed a bit hard, and not steamed. No tomato slices and no celery salt. The french fries were the frozen crinkle cut type. The interior has a lot of pictures hanging around which is always worth a look. The other problem was a bunch of young teens having a spit ball fight in the dining room, making a unpleasant meal.

Best thing - they have daily specials and then they have their everyday specials which is a regular Ham sub (nothing regular about it!) or a Po'boy. Their soups are the BOMB! Especially the beef barley.

Jimmy's drive-in is a clean establishment with lots of seating serving classic Chicago Style Food. On their menu are burgers, gyros, and hot dogs. When visiting Jimmy's I opted to try the Hot dog, upon receiving my dog I noticed it had a regular non-poppy seed bun. The hot dog sausage itself was a skinless hot dog, the signage indicated this was likely a Red Hot Chicago branded dog. The hot dog itself was fairly tasty though not necessarily great, I didn't detect the presence of any celery salt on the hot dog, and as mentioned while it wasn't a poppy seed bun, the bun included was definitely steamed and was soft. The pickle on the hot dog was cut a bit too thick, the sport peppers were just the right flavor, the relish had a bit of a sour taste to it and the onions were diced and complimented the hot dog fairly well. This was an average Chicago hot dog at best. I also received fries with my order and they were a crinkle variety, they weren't too salty, had a nice crisp outside and a nice potato flavor on the inside. Based on my visit Jimmy's drive in is an okay establishment, I'd recommend visiting if you happen to be in the area, the seating is nice, the place is clean and they have a wide menu. It was also fairly inexpensive with a hot dog at less than 2.00 and a hot dog and fries for around 2.25. Overall for the money, Jimmy's isn't a bad place to stop.

A good clean, cheap hot dog place. They might not be to everyones taste, but they fill a hole. I have been here three or four times for lunch, and always had fast service, and pretty good food. Really like the decor, the old photos are great.

Typical Fast Food, BUT it is fresh and the place is always busy and they're always quick on getting your food. I like it.

Food is cheap. And you see that in the quality of food. The owner, I believe, behind the counter is friendly. If you want the hot dog or hamburger meal (2 plus fries) for less than $5 - This is your joint.

I have been going here since I was a kid - back when they had their original drive in building. Good hot dogs, nothing too fancy about it, but their milkshakes are delicious. Only way they can improve their milkshakes is to give bigger straws. The ones they have now are way too skinny.

Just your average burger and brat joint. They say drive-in, but it really only is a drive through, and some indoor and outdoor seating. The menu includes brats, burgers, Italian beef and sausage, and your standard sides like fries, mushrooms, and cheese sticks (or anything else you can bread and throw in the deep fryer.) The service is usually pretty prompt, and the place is always almost immaculately clean. Not to bad of a place to go in lieu of McDonald's or Burger King.

I ordered a cheese dog, cheeseburger, and a strawberry shake. The hotdog bun didn't seem fresh, it was hard on one side and the hotdog itself could have been hotter. The fries were very generic and the shake wasn't mixed all the way on the bottom half. The burger had onions in the burger patty, which was a negative for me since I don't like onions. Some minor changes could make this place fantastic. Steam the buns or have fresh buns. Get better fries or make your own. And lastly serve shakes with real ice cream and not soft serve. I have a 3 star review because the prices were cheap, the place was clean, and the staff was friendly.

I was waiting for my car to be repaired, and just walked over to the closest place to the repair shop. What a pleasant surprise! I had the Greek salad and it was quite good. Ambience leaves a little to be desired, and the people behind the counter are a little rough around the edges, but it serves a good, working-class crowd.

The two brothers that run this joint are absolutely cocky and truly enjoy stealing from you if you like to order hot dogs. These two degenerates took a page from RJ munchies on 79th St. if you order just two hot dogs. That's without fries. Every single time they will give you an order fries and charge you for it. The two times that I go back to the counter explain to them that I did not want fries they look at me like I'm a cheap scumbag and say "They only cost 20 cents." With this look on their face saying, " You are really going to complain over 20 cents?" As if the customer doesn't realize that adds up over time for them. This is the perfect place to go if you like being treated like a piece of shit and enjoy having your money stolen from you.

Hot Dog with no poppy seed bun and not steamed, lukewarm with no celery salt. If you can't do this correct I would not try any of your other food.

Was craving a chicken sandwich and saw this place - stopped in to get takeout and check this place out. The building is newish and clean, lots of parking. There were 4-5 guys behind the counter - two were noshing on some food while working, which was a bit gross, but everyone has to eat and maybe they don't get time while working?? My order was to go: Patty Melt, Jimmy's Chicken sandwich on pita, cheese fries, mozz sticks. The sandwiches were good, with the chicken being the better of the two. The pita was really fresh and the chicken was super flavorful. The patty melt bread was really mushy - from too much grease. The fries were overcooked - to a darkish brown. The mozz sticks were cooked too long - so that the cheese oozed out to the outside, and the stick was an empty shell. I'd go back if in the area and wanted another chicken sandwich, but wouldn't go out of my way.
