Davern's Tavern is a great place to go for a drink with friends or even watch a game. I love that it is family owned and the staff is very kind and inviting. Drinks are at a really great price and are really good too!

I was driving past 79 th and saw these two bars on 79th street I never noticed before. So this place is the Irish bar. A nice little place with numerous televisions and a pool table in the back. tere is a big screen in the back of this place and it looks like they might have a small stage there too. Nothing of way of a great beer selection like you will find in the city. They have the latest technology video gambling machines and thats about it. A nice looking bar.

My advice to anybody that does not want to be violently ill... do not go and drink at Daverns. My husband and I thought we had found a great deal and went in for $1 drafts on a Monday. We each had about 6 and went home feeling fine. Then about 5 hrs later both of us started violently puking and pooping at the same time. I was shaking from being cold and also sweating at the same time too. The best me and my husband could come up with is that there must have been something wrong with the tap beer lines... maybe soap or bacteria got in it. Needless to say we'll never go back and we recommend that you don't either. There's more I could say but unfortunately my system isn't back to normal yet and the bathroom is calling!!!

This place gets much better on the inside. I have been there a few times and there always seems to be a good crowd there in the evenings. They always strive to have different events there all the time which is why the people come out. Drink prices are a good value, bottle of beer is $2.50 plus sometimes they have awesome specials like $3 U call its and even some $1 shots. They have at least 15 flat screen tvs so it is a great place to watch a game and the big back room often has music acts or DJs. My favorite part of this place it their big back yard, where they have bags, horeshoes, bocce ball plus concerts when the weather is nice out. I really enjoy going out there.

A perfect example of a shit hole bar with cheap drinks and a clientele that keeps you guessing. This is truly a busy dive bar. This is a far cry from a "Sports Bar"... thank God! However, you can always catch a "Black Hawk" game in progress with an occasional complimentary self-serve sandwich offered on "authentic" south-side rye bread. Think about that!

I went to this bar on Wednesday night to check out the open mic scene I am a singer songwriter and my sound is basically acoustic chill, whoa!!!! shock to the system! the house band was nailing a vintage Zep cover when we walked in, the singer can sing higher than Robert Plant could when he was young. Very nice guy but let it be known that if you wanna throw down with these cats you better bring your hottest licks and be prepared to play at nose bleed volume. Acoustic chill? I think not you'd be a brave soul to try.......just sayin

Nice little neighborhood bar with Southside charm. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, as well as easy on the eyes ;) and the drink prices were reasonable. They have a large beer garden which also hosts live music on certain days. Pretty good beer selection, along with some signature cocktails like the Not Your Father's Root Beer Float, which I tried and was delicious, and a simple food menu if you're hungry. Will be going back!

I love this place ! It reminds me of some chill bars in Ireland. The staff make you feel like family and we felt at home talking and laughing over beers. I really enjoyed my Davern tower of a sandwich. I can't wait to see what ST. Paddy's day brings at Davern's Tavern.

Stopped by Davern's to have a few beers and watch some football. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The drinks were fairly priced and they had an awesome food spread. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Great food here and Joe the owner is very welcoming. Got a bingo deal in the afternoon so good crowd in. Relaxed and welcoming. You have to try the burgers!
