Our first time here and we are very pleased with the experience. We started with a fried calamari and a caprese appetizers. The fresh mozzarella was a highlight. Tomatoes and basil fresh. The calamari was outstanding. Very light batter and tender rings. One of the best I've ever had. The wait for the entrée was a little long but considering it was Mother's Day not bad. Meals were very good, good portions and reasonable price. Best of all was our server, Ella. She was wonderful. Very recommended!

We stopped in here for an early dinner despite reading a few bad reviews here. A lot of places have to work out the problems early on so we thought we'd give it a shot. Lots of space and really nice decor allows for a nice view and not having to feel smashed in, although they probably can eventually squeeze some more tables in and still be ok. The bread and oil starter is very good and our wine came quickly. Service on our entrees was slower than it should have been but when it arrived the taste was pretty good. It's nothing outstanding but a solid option for Italian food in an area desperate for a good option. We'll visit again.

This is the perfect restaurant for people who dont know what good food is. They must have listened to Sarah about the salt because my meal had zero taste. Bland is an understatement. The service was average. Food served fast obviously because ther was no care taken to make an attempt at edible food. The sad fact is people are ok with bland mediocre food as it was a full house. I literally cant believe their version of balsamic vineagrette. ...if you want pure vinegar. .by all means order it. And I love vinegar but are you serious? Pasta was overcooked. Tomato vodka sauce was literally tasteless. I dont know how it's possible to work in a restaurant and have no clue as to how to prepare a meal. I guess it only takes money.

We have been to Marsala's twice. Enjoyed sitting in the bar area with the cozy fireplace! The last time we were there, my husband had the Chicken Parmesan, I had Chicken Marsala both were excellent! Our waitress was very attentive and efficient! We will definitely go back!

Love the renovated restaurant from the old Nikkos. The ambiance is great and felt really cozy. I especially enjoyed my order. You see, I am extremely allergic to milk, butter, and cheese and usually Italian restaurant is not the place for me. On the other hand, it is 5 to 10 minutes from home and its snowing out. So yes it is a perfect place to try for the first time. As my first choice, I ordered the spaghetti with clams, if the chef would make it special (NO BUTTER, NO CHEESE, NO MILK, NO CONTAMINATION WHATSOEVER!),. When the server got back to me, she said they would make the spaghetti with clams for me. Now for a person who have not eaten a spaghetti with clams in the last 4 years from a restaurant, is a big deal for me. The food turned out great! I did not get sick, and best of all, I have a happy tummy. I'm giving them 5 stars, just for accommodating my needs and concerns as a guest. We will be back again and highly recommend this place.

Food was awful! My wife and I both had a pasta dish and the sauce was a grade or two below the quality of off the shelf Ragu! Both dishes were bland and tasteless. Also they skimped so badly on the sauce that the pasta was dry! Expected much more for a restaurant connected with the Jameson's franchise. Also the staff was young and seemed inexperienced. For instance they have wireless and when I asked for guest password no one knew, Great decor and great bar pretty much unchanged from the old Niko's but the food ruined the experience.

My experience was short lived.. Just a heads up for anyone with children... This is NOT the place to go.. They only have what I consider OVER priced dishes that fall short of expectations. A disappointment. * If you have Celiacs do not eat here even with the gluten free options there pastas are cooked in the same water as regular and cross contamination is occouring on all levels.

I visited here with a handful of my friends. The restaurant is really nice inside, warm and inviting. The food was enjoyable, but not outstanding. Service was a little lacking. The server wasn't very knowledgeable about the wine selection and made a recommendation I didn't care for. The service was a little slow as well. We will be back but would definitely like to see them take it up a few notches on the service and quality of the food.

The entrees were great. We had the spicy shrimp pasta and eggplant Parmesan. Salad was a bit light but the dressing was good. The down side was that we were told 20-30 minute wait for two people. It ended up being 70 minutes. We would have eaten at the bar if we had known that. Waitstaff was prompt and courteous.

I wish there was a no star option. This place, ugh, I had such high hopes for, since it took over Niko's which was pretty good. So let me start at the beginning... I called to ask if there was a wait, it was Saturday night. The hostess said they were not that busy, ok great put us down for a table of 2. We got there 5 minutes later and the parking lot was full. Um? Ok well we were already there, so we waited 30 mins for a table. Not to mention the hostess gave us a staff pager and not a guest pager. SMH! We get seated, then 15 mins later we finally get drinks and bread, I'm pregnant so yea I like the bread. 10 mins later, can we get more bread.. 15 mins later oh our bread came, well we are ready to order, let's put in an app and dinner. Order is placed, 20 mins our app finally came and then an hour later our meal finally came, it was so bland, I mean season your chicken, come on now. You don't have that big of a menu, where your line cooks can't perfect your menu. The witness never came up to our table but one time to tell us our meal was running late and then to insult me "Mother's Day is more important than birthdays" this is after we tell her we are celebrating, um well I'm expecting and it's my birthday so i mean they are both important. Then finally we ordered dessert, that came and the waitress knocked my drink all over me.. WOW ok cool, no comp. No sign of the manager. Sorry to say Olive Garden is way better and that is saying a lot seeing as that is a chain and not anything to write home about. Don't go here. Stay home.

I'm pretty sure the people in Del Webb will absolutely love this place. But for everyone else, it's going to be very extremely average. The service, was GREAT. Servers were helpful, there were traveling bus boys who scooped up plates, glasses, bowls, etc almost as soon as we were done with them. My girlfriend had the Chicken Parmesan, and I had a pasta bolgnese with a side of meatballs, because they looked absolutely delicious when we saw them come out for another table. Looks can be deceiving. The sauce for the meatballs was pretty good, the meatballs themselves were just average at best. The Chicken Paramesan was apparently made with chicken from the Dead Sea because it was so incredibly salty, it made out lips pucker. The bolognese sauce was full of meat, but not much flavor, which seemed to be the trend for this restaurant. Portions sizes were good, just utterly lacking of flavor. The bread, while "fresh", certainly left one to question why was it served in a covered napkin if it was already cold? We both did enjoy the the Bruschetta appetizer, and the salad was a typically basic salad. The rest of the meal was just very incredibly average. For the price, there are better places as far as I am concerned. We will not be going back.

Whereas the atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and comfortable, I hate the cat urine smell as you walk in of what must be the gas for the fireplace in the bar. Out of the 5 times I have now eaten there, the best thing on the menu is the bread. The spaghetti is too dry and the first time I got it I got 2 meatballs, when I took one home for my roommate, she got no meatballs and the other night my father got 4 meatballs. I had the eggplant and do not like it cut so thick with the skin still on it, too rubbery. I had something that was on the specials menu that was a filet covered in cheese and sauce and it was nothing special, though the meat was cooked perfect. There is a pasta dish with mushrooms and walnuts and the sauce tastes like flour. Chicken Marsala has too much garlic in it, again, in my opinion. I am simply not at all impressed with this restaurant. Bummed out too because Huntley needs a good one. I do like their creamy gorgonzola salad dressing.

Drinks small and pricey. Food was bland and, at best, tasteless. My husband ordered gluten free fetuccini alfredo. There was much sauce, although the portion size was substantial. I ordered pasta with mushrooms and walnuts. Again, very little sauce and way too starchy. The waitress brought our bill without even offering dessert or coffee. The ambience is lovely, but we won't be back. Disappointed!

I had the shrimp pasta with chili sauce. At least that was the description because I can not remember what it's actually called. It was good. The bread was really good. But the main reason they get 5 stars is for their service and THE CHEESECAKE! Get the cheesecake. It's my favorite desert and they make it better than any I have ever had. We will be back.

Salt, salt, and more salt...the past was over cooked and very salty. We we're given bread first, which was cold. The chicken Parmesan was also very salty and lacked any other flavor. It was cooked perfectly but flavorless. The marinara sauce was ok but again pretty salty...we had the meatballs on the side and the tasted oddly tart. We got the bruschetta appetizer which was great (not over salted). The service was excellent and the decor was beautiful. It felt like too much was invested in the decor and not enough on food. We waited almost an hour to be seated and guests who arrived after us were seated first. They probably had reservations but for a place so new with a phone number that can't be googled yet..a better arrangement should have been in place. I'll give them a year or so to get on their feet and then try them again.

Made a reservation for New Year's Eve on Yelp with Open Table which was super easy! We had excellent service. Our waiter checked on us frequently and was very polite and knowledgable about the menu. Great food and drinks. I really enjoyed the Pizza Margherita, the tomato sauce was outstanding! Great desserts and appetizers! I will definitely be back!

We went on a Friday night. They were packed. We were impressed because they have only been open a few weeks. The bread was fresh, hot and warm. They gave us olive oil and Parmesan for dipping which we love. Two of us had the eggplant Parmesan which was ok but we've had better. The double cut pork chop was delicious and I had the chicken dish with artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. It was very good. The Caesar salad was delicious. The service was excellent. A restaurant this good couple weeks after opening will certainly do nothing but improve. We will certainly be back!

Went here last night. Had a reservation and still waited 20 minutes for a table. Our waitress was not very responsive. Not sure is she had more tables than she could handle or just slow. It took forever to get our food. Got the spicy shrimp dish and it was so spicy not 1 of the 4 people at our table could take more than 1 bite. Meatballs were rubbery. Sauce was bland. Took us 2.5 hours for dinner at 8 with a reservation. Should have known it was a mistake when they didn't have a decent chianti. Waitress tried to make it up with free dessert, but that even took forever to get when we were the only ones left in the restaurant. And forgot my 2 year olds cookie multiple times. Don't think we will ever go back

Nice job Marsala's team!! I couldn't be happier that you are open and ready for business. We went to your restaurant several weeks ago and was greeted by Ella. She did an outstanding job of attending to our needs. The food was excellent. We ordered the salmon and the pork chops. We had drinks as well...probably would agree that they were pricey, so we only had one each. The caesar salad was excellent. We wish you much success in this endeavor. The restaurant was very well set up with a great atmosphere. Thank you so much. We look forward to many return visits.

I am kind of suprised by the reviews here on Yelp for this place. I think like any restaurant it may have a few issues when it is first opened. I like to do a review after a few months and a couple of times eating at an establishment. My wife and I have been to the place two times and and both times we were impressed by the food selection and the flavor. It is not the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to but that does not mean it is not good. On our last visit my wife order the fillet and she said it was cooked perfectly. Not too bloody but not overdone either. I order the Chicne Parmesan and it was a portion large enough for two people. I only at one of the fillets and brought the rest home. The only issue I had is I was going to order wine with my dinner but the wine list was not brought after I asked. We did not order appetizers or desserts so I cannot comment on either one of those. We both like this place and will return

I was looking forward to go to this Italian restaurant, but was very disappointed. The server recommended the grilled calamari which was pretty bad, will never have them again. We ordered steak and two pasta dishes. I make better pasta than that with sauce from a jar and the steak was tasteless. My 1st time here and my last.

My family and I decided to try this place tonight. I believe the owners must have listened to the past reviews because our food was awesome! My kids loved their food and I loved the fact they had gluten free items notated right on the menu. It is beautiful inside with a gorgeous fireplace. The only thing I could say is the server could've been more chipper and they could've cleared the empty plates quicker. No big deal tho. Also the prices were extremely reasonable! Love it, we will be back!

We visited Marsala's the first time last weekend. It will probably be our last visit. Despite its potential, the restaurant under-delivered at nearly every opportunity. The calamari arrived within what seemed like seconds after we ordered. Given its temperature when served, it was clear it had been under a heat lamp, and not recently prepared. The bruschetta was, frankly, an abomination: soggy and tasteless. I ordered the chicken marsala, thinking that since it was - more or less - a signature dish for the restaurant I would be in for a treat. More disappointment. The entree (which was, oddly enough, served with mashed potatoes; not what one would consider Italian) was tasteless, with a dearth of marsala flavor, and few mushrooms. It was in serious need of competent seasoning. I could only manage to eat one of the two small chicken pieces. One of my companions ordered lasnagna. He commented that the meat in the entree appeared to be ground very fine, ala Taco Bell (apologies to Taco Bell). Passables: The Ceasar salad was good, but mostly benefitted from the dressing. The tiramisu was decent. Service was surprisingly competent, although errors were made with our opening cocktails. Since the restaurant most probably targets residents of Dell Webb, some of the above may be understandable. But if one is seeking decent Italian fare, keep looking.

Food seemed as it was all frozen food. Waitress was slow took and half hour just to get drinks and it wasn't even packed. Food was dry and no flavor. Olive Garden biaggis are better Italian places to go to around here.

My experience was absolutely FABULOUS from the awesome waitress (I believe Kylee was her name?) down to the desserts. The waitress was prompt, very attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure every member of our 5 person party enjoyed the meal. She definitely made my rating what it is as I rarely ever give 5 stars. Thank you for making us feel welcomed. :)

very beautiful setting and ambiance. but since it was a bit pricey I guess that's what I paid for. great food too as well as service. not very busy on a sunday afternoon so we got seated right away. its right by the Huntley outlet mall. Restaurant recently opened...don't trust previous reviews. Every restaurant has bumps in the beginning. I have 40 years experience in the business...that being said we went last Tuesday and it was wonderful. There were 24......yes 24 of us and the food was served at the same time...all of us! Hot! Perfect! Pasta Al dente ...appetizers of calamari...not rubbery...sausage and peppers...not mushy! I had the Veal. Right amount of lemon! The table was full of compliments for the food and atmosphere. Juan was wonderful as a waiter. Definitely ask for him! Do stop here and enjoy! I need to mention the Restaurant is across from Del Webb...a lot of personalities and opinions...Try for yourself! You will not be disappointed.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
