Good gawd! I'm loving this location--my kids can get their dogs and fries, and I can get pasta. I've had the chicken alfredo and the plain alfredo, which were both good. The sauce is thick, not too garlicky, and delicious. I've had the Fettucine Carbonara, which is super garlicky but good. Lastly, I've had the Pesto Chicken and Mushroom, which was fantastic! The prices are good, for the super huge portions you get--there's definitely enough to eat the next day or later on for dinner. And I can't get enough of the bread they serve with it. Yum. I will definitely be returning the next time I'm out this way.
Why, why, why has no one rated Barnelli's/Portillo's I absolutely LOVE this place. I flew into Chicago last night and this is the first place I stopped after picking up my rental car. Sick, isn't it? I had a HUGE hankering for one of their fabulous pasta dishes and Italian bread. I wound up having the Country Rigatoni, it's a large portion and has lots of sauce. Just wish I hadn't been driving so I could have enjoyed a glass of wine with it. Oh well, maybe next time. While Portillo's is best known for their fabulous Hot Dogs and outstanding Roast Beef Sandwiches the pasta dishes at Barnelli's are excellent too! I can only hope for the day they open an Portillo's in Arizona. I don't care where it is...I'm there!
I love their baked mostacciolli! I am a vegetarian so Portillo's doesn't have much, but Barnelli's has so many options. Plus I don't feel disgusting after eating there.

During my time in Hawaii, I found a lot of great food in the dingiest of holes-in-the-wall, so I wasn't so much surprised as delighted to discover that Ashoka puts out some quality vittles. You'll want your order to go - trust me and every other reviewer before me. And ask for the kitchen to use less oil/ghee, since they tend to be a bit heavy-handed. The aloo gobi, palak paneer, dal makhni, lamb kebab curry and fish curry are all delicious, and main dishes come with naan for sopping up every last savory bit of sauce. The garlic naan, however, is WAY too garlicky even for my Korean palate - I don't enjoy biting into whole cloves, but you can give it a go if you feel brave enough.
Let me just start by saying...the people who say this place has "plain" decoration are being EXTREMELY kind. Don't get confused, the decor in this place is "DIVEY" at best. Light fixtures coming out of the ceiling...dusty trinkets all over the place...etc Thankfully I'm not a huge neat freak because when i went in the place was kinda dirty. Thankfully our table and silverware was all clean and ready to go.. Where this place really wins is THE FOOD. Everything that both me and my girlfriend ate was great. Home cooked indian food at it's finest. I'm sure we will order from this place again...just might have to get take out next time ;-)
My girlfriend and I love this place! We usually get carry out and go with Chicken Tiki Masala with an order of samosas. BOOM that's all you need. They have a great balance of flavor and spice while the samosas are packed with potatoes and you get some Naan on the side as well. I wish the orders came with rice but you have to order some seperate, no big deal. We've gone to other places in the area for indian/pakistani but nothing quite compares. This place is a little hole in the wall off army trail in a mini mall. Looks can be deceiving but the food is on point.

Definitely liked this place a lot. The lines were fast and the food was great. The atmosphere was awesome and unique. It was a bit crazy but that's all a part of the experience. The italian beef sandwich was spot on. It was just the meat but even that was super juicy! I got the chocolate cake as well which was nice and moist. Will visit next time I'm back.
Ok so we don't eat here often...Yes, I am from Chicago, no I dont have a special place in my heart for portillos... The food is always sub-par....The fries are cold, the dogs or soggy and the salads are soaked....No thanks
Portillo's hot dog is a neat experience in Chicago. I liked the design of the building with the 60's theme. I first ordered the portillo's hot dog chicago style, I shared one with my parents and it was so good we downed the hot dog in minutes. The portillo hot dog has a juicy dog with pickles, tomato, hot pepper. It was great! Next, I tried the famous italian beef sandwhich. The italian beef was dipped in gravy ( must do, so good!) and it came with hot peppers. When I first saw the italian beef sandwhich and it was greasy, I knew it was going to be good. The first bite into the dog was juicy, powerful flavor, and all around satisfying. I could not wait to stuff down the dog, the beef tasted extra flavorful after being dipped in gravy, and hot peppers gave a nice kick to the beef. The hot peppers were not too spicy, it was more of a medium spice. If you like a little bit of spice in your food, def. get it. All in all, I had a great experience in this place and would definitely come back if I am around the area again.

This place is known for great beefs and Burgers. They also have fantastic vegetarian fair. Their eggplant panini and pepper and egg sandwich rock. These are must haves during lent.
I had a choice between this place and other regular fast food burger places I choose this one as I thought it might be slightly better. The chicken Parmesan sandwich was very dry with not enough sauce to be edible; the fries were OK but again not anything good. I should have stayed to the original plan.
I finally tried this place after many years. I was surprised at how good the food was. Beef was some of the best ever. Comfortable place to eat a meal at. This has become one of my regular places to eat.

This is the one place I can say is the most "regular" joint the wife and I visit. We're here almost weekly. Their steak tacos are like crack. Not that I've ever tried crack, but I hear it's pretty addictive. Anyway, back to the tacos, they are muy bueno. I'm not sure how they season the steak, but they put just the right amount of char to the meat. Also, very rarely do you come across a fatty piece like you do at other places. I also get the steak sope regularly. Holy crap, are they good. The fried masa which serves as the base has some heft to it which helps since once you pick this bad boy up, you'll need something sturdy to hold up all the fixings on top. Again with the steak, love it on the sope, along with the right amount of refried beans and sour cream. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I've only seen two servers there in the time we've been going to this place. Both of the ladies are really nice and friendly. The few times we've dined-in, we've never had any issues. The food was ready fast, and the servers were by often enough to be helpful without being annoying. Do yourself a favor and stop by here and grab some the next time you pass by. Oh, and get both the salsa verde and the medium salsa to top it all off.
I've been going here since Las Vegas' early days. Their al pastor are THE best in burbs and the city, Since I've moved to city I've had tacos from Pilsen to Uptown to St Charles, and no one has the delicate spices and tenderness that Las Vegas brings to the table. Their red homemade salsa is also top notch as well, as long as you can handle hot authentic salsa. I recently visited here after 3 year hiatus and did not disappoint, thanks for all your yumminess.
I'm sorry. My burrito was dripping with water and had more lettuce (hence why it was probably so wet) than beef. Because of the amount of lettuce, the beef was cold, or maybe it was cold to begin with. The burrito felt like it was wrapped twice with tortilla. The prices are moderately priced for a Mexican joint, but you can just head west down North Ave to an even cheaper place and get a better experience.

I was looking for a place that had ube cake and was recommended this place by a friend and went though with it based on Yelp reviews. I ordered a 1/4 sheet ube cake for my family to eat on Christmas eve. I called on a Thursday afternoon. The man who answered the phone was a bit rude. In the midst of my order, he just started speaking to someone else and laughing without any "excuse me" and then carried on as if I was taking too long to order. Mind you, I'm not much of a talker... On Monday, I drove 35 min and picked up my cake in the afternoon. I paid $32, which I thought was a decent price. I refrigerated it overnight and cut it after Christmas eve dinner. Well, the cake was much too 'heavy'. It almost seemed like the baker had used batter from a box. The macapuno was very tough in the middle. The frosting was overdone. I had eaten much better homemade ube cake in the past that was light, 'fluffy', and just overall delicious. I definitely will not be returning to this shop for baked goods. I was really looking forward to eat but was terribly disappointed.
Food has improved greatly. Whenever we're in the mood for Filipino food this is the place!
Super yummy cheep empanada's $1.10 at the time of this post. Great stews in the Phillapino style at crazy good prices AND I guess it is a bakery too. MMM, GOOD. Gets my vote for a lazy take home dinner that even my 4 year old loves. Did I mention take out only.
