I love the food at Moveable Feast. They have a large assortment of unique deli food. I always get a salad sampler and have enjoyed most everything, although, not being a fan of cilantro, I wish they would list it with the other ingredients. The baked good are a highlight. Oprah once recommended their brownies on her show, as one of the best she's ever tasted, but didn't give them permission to use her name as an advertisement. The cookies with icing are fabulous! The behind the counter service is iffy. Sometimes it moves along, but I've had to wait more than once when no one else is in line. They seem to lose track of whose been served from time to time. Still well worth it.

I have eaten there frequently over the past five years. The food is always fresh and tasty. I like the Reno, but have been very disappointed with their service the past two or three times I have been there.

Moveable Feast is our go to place for a special meal out. It is expensive but you are getting really high quality food so it makes sense. We have never been disappointed with the food! The brownies are AMAZING and truly you can't go wrong with any of the specialty desserts! We only wish that they were open later for dinner and on Mondays. We always seem to want to go here on a Monday and they're closed. HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Moovable Feast is one of my favorite places to get a quick, delicious and healthy meal. The dinning atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasent. If you have not been to Moovable in the past year you are in for a nice surprise. It underwent a change in ownership and is now better than ever. They now have many more choices of food on a daily basis. A few favorites of mine are the smoked salmon, turkey meatballs, kale salad, and my six year old son loves their chicken, cookies and fruit. Great place!!Delicious! Great service!

Having relocated to the dreaded burbs from the comfort of the city where gourmet grocery stores are the norm, I was beyond excited to have stumbled upon this place!! There are times when I do not want to cook and I love that I can stop here and pick up healthy, amazing quality meals to go. Within one week, I dropped around $200 and I have no qualms about it because the prices are very similar to Whole Foods and with the amount of food that you receive, it easily provides my boyfriend and I with a weeks worth of gourmet meals. The turkey meatballs w/onion jam is going to be a constant favorite as well as the fairy tale cookies. Their salads are very good and I rave highly on their soups, especially the caramelized cauliflower soup. Moveable Feasts has made my transition a lot more doable and I thank you. It's just disappointing that this is the only place that offers this type of fare and that there is not a single gourmet grocery store in this area.

Bought a tub of salty oatmeal cookie dough by accident-thought I grabbed the Ice cream to save a trip to Kimmers. Dough was hard & dry would have been impossible to scoop them out for cookies

I had never visited Moveable Feast's storefront, I was a mail order customer. Their brownies are legendary and I had ordered them as gifts for several friends around the country. When I realized how close I was to their store I HAD to stop in. Recently remodeled, Moveable feast is more of a gourmet food shop/cafe than just a bakery. We stopped in specifically for the brownies, but they also sell and several savory foods. They also have recently started carrying Lillie's Q BBQ sauces - which was cool to see since I love that place. Although I was tempted by many of their baked good, and some really good looking quesadillas/guacamole - I just bought 2 brownies...Holy Moly are they good. Chocolatey, moist yummy goodness - but not too sweet. Should you choose, you can also purchase brownies in a 1lb tray - getting a discount if you buy too. The cafe is really cute - just like Geneva. Can't wait to go back!

I have been a Moveable Feast customer since they opened. I've used their catering services, their take-out, and I stop for lunch now and then. Their food is usually delicious, but I've had a few disappointments. I enjoy their meals, but the last few lunches weren't that good and I didn't get a lot of food. Plus, for a lunch, I spent way too much money. (I paid over 20.00 for a small piece of salmon with roasted veges.) The people who work there are very friendly, but it's busy in the middle of the day, and you can expect to wait to be served. A number system would be nice so diners could be waited on in order of arrival. In short, I'm done going to lunch there. I would definitely consider their catering services, though.

Amazing food, beautiful decor! The salad trio was outstanding! Smoked Salmon pasta salad, spicy pecan sweet potato salad & broccoli slaw. Enjoyed some dessert as well! Great spot to stop in for lunch when shopping in Geneva! Ash & the whole staff at Moveable Feast were precessional & super friendly!!!!

Greeted by a very pleasant young lady that gave us a small tour. You can buy fresh frozen foods from the freezer, or go into the deli room and buy salads and prepared foods to take home, or eat in their small but quaint dining room. The food is fresh and the salads healthy. We loved the turkey chili and I took some home. The gluten free desserts were excellent also. A bit pricey but not over the top for what you are getting. It is a nice place to go for lunch and a walk around town!

Movable Feast is is under new management and is undergoing a interior design change. The look will be clean and modern with relocated dining room full of windows and light. The focus is still on the great food that can be purchased for take out as well. Primarily a lunch spot with a great selection of salads and home baked treats it is a favourite in Geneva. They are now open in the morning with a few coffee and breakfast items.

picked up carry-out for dinner the other day -- fresh ingredients, on-spot flavors. price is a little higher-end. their infamous brownies really are deeply fudgy (and that's a very good thing, even for my mom who doesn't like anything too sweet).

Moveable Feast catered the outdoor wedding of our daughter and son -in-law this summer. Their presentation was absolutely beyond beautiful! All of the dishes were fresh and delicious. Our guests are still talking about the food and stunning presentation. They used our kitchen to prep and left it as clean as they found it. All leftover food was nicely packaged up in our refrigerator ready for another meal. The service was seamless and friendly. I would highly recommend Movable Feast and would not hesitate to use them again.

No less than 4 1/2 stars for me. The brownie's they sell are exactly what the name implies- Deeply Fudgey Brownies. I also bough the 7 layer cookie- also VERY solid. As for the deserts, from what I had, I was pleased. What I wasn't expecting was to have some deli stuff there as well (now I didn't get to try them though but the food did look good). I went later in the day (about 30 minutes before closing) so the deli stuff was probably gone. They also sell cookbooks, other cheeses, chocolates. In other words, the typical gourmet fare. They even mentioned that they do catering but need about a week in advance to do it. Among things that I was told they do is whole hog. Considering that they do have a strong emphasis on being local (when possible) and organic, I hope to crash a hog roast they do. Maybe they should take a page from Uncle Bub's and do a special- once a week or month (when it comes to stuff like whole hog, I better know who is cooking it or at least know how it tastes before I would buy one). The staff were very friendly during my visit. VERY thankful for the poor woman who had to give me directions after getting side tracked. The food isn't cheap but if you want that splurge, this can be a good place to go. Once you get on Route 31 (S Batavia Ave), you'll go west on 3rd Street (use the Kane County Clerk & Recorder Offices as your landmarks facing east). Drive about 1/3 of a mile to Franklin St (Geneva Lutheran Church will be another landmark of use to you) and turn south. If you want to park elsewhere you can and walk on foot. From the 3rd St/Franklin Ave intersection, it will be towards the middle of the block and on the west side of the street. If you don't live near here, this is a destination visit.

Very. Very. Very good brownies. That alone is enough for me. For others you might find the assorted prepared foods more to your tastes - chicken salad among others. I tried their pulled pork plate recently during Swedish days and was very happy with it. Did I mention the brownies. I haven't tried the catering but the food I have sampled is all top notch. Give it a try next time you are out and about in Geneva.

I L.O.V.E. their chicken salad, YUMMM!! It has good white chicken meat and GRAPES. It's amazing, I would tell everyone to go there just for that. My friend had them cater her wedding and the whole set up was adorbs. Go and try some of their other finger-lickin food!

I called to inquire about getting catering for our daughter's first birthday party, I was directed to their caterer Kate who had a different number. After leaving Kate a vm that I needed to talk to her about catering I got no response. Her voicemail has a snotty message that she is super busy and prefers emails instead of calls. So I called again and was transferred to her vm. She finally calls me back the next day on her way out the door and I wasn't able to answer. I called back and she had left for the day. I left her another vm giving her details of what I was looking for and I never received a call from her. For an expensive catering menu you would think their service would be at par. This was the worst experience I have had when trying to get info from a company. I would not recommend this place to anyone since there are other companies just as good who would be happy to have your business.

This place serves up the best brownies ever! Loved ones will hate you for getting them orders of MF's brownies (I've been told that some have rationed their brownies and others have been miffed that they'll be gaining an extra 4-5lbs thanks to me). But these things are wicked delish and can be conveniently ordered via their web site. I've been sending out for their gift boxes of two freshly made pans of Deeply Fudgey Brownies as holiday and birthday presents. They never disappoint and delivery is fast since the store is in Geneva, IL.

I love the chicken salad sandwiches.... and the desserts are fabulous. Around Swedish Days (a festival in June for Geneva) they have a pulled pork plate that I LOVE!! Rice Krispy roll is super yummy and it's fun to look at all the wares they have for sale in this tiny place. If I need a caterer, I know where to go!

I wish this place was closer to my home, then again maybe its better this way. Everything is wonderful and it is such a charming space. In general the staff is friendly. I love to pick up a few things here whenever in Geneva.

Moveable Feast, if suddenly I had to plan a wedding, and, let's say it was way out in the West Suburbs, then you would be my #1 candidate for catering. You guys rule! Your sweets are achingly homey and well-executed - and deliciously addictive. Your seasonal menus are impressive and likewise remarkably well done. You guys are the undisputed and unrivaled royalty of West Suburban catering - both event and corporate. I'd say your only weakness is that you aren't located close enough to my house or my work.

All I have to say about this place is AMAZING!!! It is everything I look for in gourmet food and desserts under one cute little roof in the heart of downtown Geneva. I first had their catering at a party my fiance's boss had at his home. They had sent two, professionally dresses servers you did everything!! They set up...with this great table scape...which was the perfect backdrop to their amazing food! They wouldn't even let me throw away my own garbage...they made you feel like a celebrity!! Everything from the roast beef wrapped veggies dipped in a Asian dipping sauce to the hand carved fillet of beef, to the garlic mashed potatoes to the goat cheese spread and lastly the sweet table...everything and I mean EVERYTHING was to DIE FOR!! I have since had them a few more times at the same house and I frequently stop in there to pick up some things for my fiance and I. Most recently I have tried the lentils with goat cheese and beef gardiniere...both out of this world! I am even using them to cater my wedding which is coming up in September!!! I can't wait! Trust me everyone...you just have to try it!! You will never want catering from anywhere else again!!

Solid prepared food options with a homemade appeal. But very pricey. $37 for their whole ham and cheese quiche (frozen). Seriously? No quiche is worth that.

Imagine a gourmet general store and you'll get the idea of what Moveable Feast is like. Despite the Hemingway name (what's next, "For Whom The Bell Tolls Cafe"? At least it was food-oriented, so I'll let it slide...) I checked it out. Tucked into an old house off the main drag of Third Street (it's on Franklin, west of Third about a block), the front room of the shop is all gourmet goodies (Stonewall Kitchen preserves, fancy candies, assorted cookbooks, a cooler full of select -- and $$$ -- cheeses, etc.) A step into the next room takes you into the part where you can get food to eat there or to go (salads, baked goods, etc.) The Deeply Fudgy Brownie was almost too fudgy, if that's possibly a complaint. I'm not sure I've ever had to go at a brownie in more than one shift before, but I couldn't finish this one in one take. The girls behind the food counter were nice; the lady at the counter in the "shop" was a little scattered. This is one of those places that will become a pricey little indulgence for me whenever I'm in Geneva.

Don't let this quaint little place fool you. Very yummy fresh, homemade quality foods. A little far from me, so I haven't had a chance to go back...but, if I happen to be in the area...I will be getting my good grub on here!

I have frequented Moveable Feast many, many, many times. When it's good, it's GREAT. However if it's not one of their best dishes, you just wasted a lot of dough on something that wasn't worth it. The net is that Moveable Feast is quite expensive, and most often worth it. The fairytale cookies, are exactly that....a dream come true in a cookie. They used to make a cauliflower gratin what was to die for. However, I visited the store recently, and asked about the dish, and was told in a rather snooty tone by one of the employees that "We never made that dish. We've only ever offered it with cauliflower and broccoli." Umm, well, yes you did, and I know because I bought it several times. That is my one issue with the place, some of the employees are super sweet, sometimes quite snooty. And let's face it, if I'm paying over $2 for a cookie, I'd like it served with a smile.

Moveable Feast catered my wedding 15 years ago, before they even had a storefront. I have been a loyal customer ever since. Their food is delicious. I love their salads and their new Dinners for 2. I am relieved that even though the business has changed ownership, the food and service is still the same high-quality.

Now that I've actually used them myself for catering, I must admit the experience was not good :(. They did accommodate fairly last minute, but made several huge errors that they would not fix. And the cost was outrageous.

They catered my baby shower brunch and everything from the food to set-up to service was fantastic. Highly recommend!
