The very best ice cream and a must-visit to support this local, well-run establishment!
It's ice cream...how can you go wrong? I had their version of the blizzard, my kiddo had a sundae. Nothing fancy, nothing special..just normal, good tasting ice cream and toppings. We sat inside and the owner struck up a friendly chat. First time I've seen a Pepsi bottle collection..be sure to check that out if like bottles, Pepsi or memorabilia. Cheers.
Excellent cheeseburgers, great fries, cheese curds, and more. The food menu is excellent. The ice cream menu is huge and they have all of the great toppings. The flurry/blizzards are fantastic and the price is right. Highly recommend Alice's if you are hungry and craving a good burger and ice cream. This is one of the best wedding venues in the Chicagoland area for so many reasons. I believe the root of this is the fantastic owners/event coordinators. It's very apparent that they truly care about people and the quality of their business. They are incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful people. The venue itself really reflects that personality. It is unique, with tons of space and beautiful light. The decor is beautiful, and it's obvious that the owners put a lot of thought and care into the renovation of the space. It's classy, but rustic, and it has so much potential to add your own touches. They even have beautiful touches you can rent, like candles, vintage wine crates, reclaimed wood table numbers, etc. It's not the cheap, ugly stuff that most venues offer. The property at Fishermen's Inn is huge, and there are options for outdoor ceremony locations or indoor. A lot of venues charge extra if you planned an outdoor ceremony, then have to move it indoors due to weather. Not Fishermen's Inn! You'll pay the same price either way. Such a great perk! I also like the fact that they only host one wedding at a time. So you get the entire place for your party. FYI, I have not personally hosted a wedding there, but I'm in the wedding industry, so I am coming from a behind-the-scenes perspective. I really think you'll be pleased with Fishermen's Inn. I don't say that about most places, and I've worked with MANY. This place really stands out. I hope this helps you with your wedding plans! :)
I have heard that new owners plan on reopening in the Fall of 2013.
New management - let's see how it goes. But love the trout. After decades of the same management/ownership, that has changed. The jury is out Fishermen's Inn now. It's still a large, busy place in a neat setting - a barn by fishing ponds. They raise their own trout, so that's a fresh delicacy year round. Other entrees are the standard variety of steaks, fish, and way too many offerings to be fresh all the time. Big portions, boring salads, overcooked vegetables. No chef here, just cooks. Your meal will be fine, just not outstanding. Service is good, fresh bread is good, the setting is very pleasant. If you have a group, maybe 6-12, see if you can get the table in the silo. Not too many people have their dinner in silos.

DELICIOUS! Every time we come the service is amazing....from salads to sandwiches to apps they do it up right! Would highly recommend it!!
I stopped here on a Sunday afternoon as I had to DJ an event at Fishermen's Inn. Ever heard to never judge a book by it's cover? This place is exactly that. Though it looks like it's a small-town bar, the atmosphere is "chill" but friendly. I got the chicken breast sandwich with a side of BBQ sauce and tater tots and surprisingly the meal filled me up! It looks like they have great drink specials too! The only reason I gave it four stars is because the sound from the gambling machines was insanely loud. Yes, those machines are meant to be loud, but I would prefer it if it was quieter. Check this place out though! You won't regret it!
I heard that this place was supposed to be good. Showed up for lunch unexpectedly and sat at a bar table. The service was slow, prices were high considering the food was on par with bad fast food. When I received my food, the patty melt was supposed to be medium well and I got less than medium.... just not good. It took less time to get me a whole new meal than it did to get the original. My brother in law ordered the pork tenderloin and tender is not a word he would use. The man who delivered to our table asked him if he wanted mayonnaise... now we know why. It was dry and not flavorable. Probably won't waste our time again.

I've been out in the area for about 5 years now, only recently did I stumble on Ream's Market in Elburn per the recommendation of a friend. We thoroughly enjoy their meat products and come to find out they supply Paisanos with some of their food supply. That said, we tried Paisanos for the first time and man oh man do they have good thin crust pizza. I've found this to be like chasing a unicorn out here amidst the deep dish pizza forest. Fair in price, and good on topping portions, this is bar-none the best thin crust pizza in the Chicagoland area. Maciano's and Genoa are good, but Paisano's is the best.
I am a true believer that there is no such thing as bad pizza. I believe this is the only place left in Elburn (or the surrounding area) that will deliver, so my options have dwindled down to one. This is a very hit and miss delivery pizza. I have had pizzas delivered to the house (less than a half of a mile from point a to point b) but yet the pizza is all slid to one side. One thing for sure, it is GREASY pizza. Some people may be ok with that. I am not. The amount of grease on top can be soaked up with a paper towel, and in our particular cases, will give you some stomach trouble leading into all day the next day. I ALWAYS ask for it to be cooked "well done" or "crispy" anything up to the edge of burnt, in hope of reducing the amount of grease, but it always shows up on my door within 35-40 minutes. Maybe next time I will try the hot dogs.
My husband and I had pretty much only had their pizza and chocolate éclair pie (omg, the pie is ridiculously good!!!), but today decided to give their other menu items a shot. Got potato skins app, and they were perfect. Very large in size, and tasted really good and home made. Recommend! Next their Reams red hot (hot dog with everything), and it was honestly better than a portillos dog! Comes with pickle, chopped onion, cucumber, tomato, sport peppers, mustard (NO ketchup, obvi) celery salt. ..perfection. Seriously, skip portillos and give this family restaurant a shot. Got the fresh cut fries with hot dog, and they're just how i like my fries. Potato skin present, salted lightly, not too crunchy but not soggy. Yes. A must. My husband got a cheeseburger and really liked it. Obviously we got an éclair pie again (obvious if youve ever tried it; it's a must to those who've had it). I'm impressed and have found a new lunch/dinner spot for not just pizza (their pizzas are great too). Their employees have always been nice.

Honestly the best pizza in the area. Best prices in the area. And best deals in the area. The food is always good from there I usually get the same thing for a few days then I have to try something different. Never disappointed me. I sure hope to have them around because they are the best pizza place anywhere near here.
Great little pizza place. Service has always been friendly and accommodating. This is my favorite pizza in town now. I have only tried their pizza and I like the crust especially.

We're local to the area and enjoy going to Brianna's for a nice breakfast (or lunch!). The atmostphere is casual and friendly, waitstaff and hostess are always smiling. The food is quite good, and although it is casual diner-type fare, the quality is high. The only drawback is it gets very crowded on weekends, but that's not unique to Brianna's, it happens at most of the brunch-type places. My favorites here are the skillets for breakfast and the turkey/cranberry wrap for lunch. It's also nice that they offer fresh fruit as a side in place of fries with the sandwiches. Very refreshing.
I've now been here once. Comparing this breakfast place to others, I would consider it average. 3/5 stars. For Elburn, sure there are limited choices but I'm not going to rate it higher because it's "better than McDonalds". Great. Anything is better. On my way in, I asked a friend if it was good and some random guy turned and said "it is amazing!". Ok, well, I wouldn't call it that, but it wasn't horrible either. I ordered an egg white Denver omelette which came with hash browns and french toast (though there were several choices). The price was $8.95 which was very reasonable. It was good, but not amazing. The decor is pretty standard for a breakfast place. Contemporary, but not modern or trendy or anything. Our waitress was nice and changed out my cup when I pointed out there were crumbs on it. For Elburn breakfast, it's good. But, I'd rather drive a little farther to Ari's Kitchen, Egg Harbor or Nosh for a better breakfast.
They have a location in S.Elgin on Randall. Served me an over cooked, inedible meal. Took two bites. Told the waitress. She said "sorry" and charged me full price. Told manager at cash register. He said "sorry" and made me pay full price. I won't go back!!!

Food is decent. Owners are AWESOME! Great eggrolls and good fried rice.
Typical Chinese restaurant, not great but not horrible either.
Not a bad take-out Chinese place. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered considering it is take-out. I will definitely be going back. The old Chinese lady barking out commands in Chinese to the cooks was a nice touch.
