I had a fabulous lunch at their buffet last week. The food was delish and not over priced! The naan was great, they had a wide variety of choices including some healthy, low calorie options! Good service and attitude! We are lucky to have this restaurant in Edwardsville!

Tried this for lunch today. The have a fairly large buffet and a number of options for vegetarians. The food was good albeit Americanized and not exactly for the foodie looking for authenticity. The naan here is the best part. It's always hard to find good naan in a buffet but they figured it out here. If you enjoy chicken tikka masala or butter chicken in most indian restaurants, this place will be a treat. Their salad bar was below average but who goes to an Indian restaurant to eat side salad with ranch!?

My friend and I visited on a Sunday and had the lunch buffet. We both love Indian food and were excited to try Taj. The buffet had a really good selection and everything was seasoned well. I especially enjoyed the chicken tikka. The only thing that, I guess, bothered me was the server. He was nice, but pretty nosey and over attentive. He also asked several times how the food was. One time is fine but more than that is a bit bothersome. I would suggest maybe providing customers feedback cards to fill out as an alternative.

We ate here (in their previous location) on our Valentine's Day dinner date. The food was delicious and the service was perfect. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which I still crave and shared the dish. The chicken was tender and the sauce was perfectly spiced. We also decided to try a dish we'd never had before and ordered the Aloo Gobi. It was delicious and I've since ordered it from an Indian restaurant closer to home...and didn't come close to comparing to Taj Mahal's dish in flavor and texture. We also ordered the Tandoori Chicken which was tasty and surrounded by plenty of onions to nibble. The Naan was light and delicious. The service was attentive and respectful. We had a lovely, unhurried meal and the portions were perfect. We can't wait to visit the new location.

FROZEN VEGETABLES not fresh FROZEN! I've ordered from here in the past and enjoyed my order. Not anymore, the new location must cost more because they've taken a MAJOR dive in both food quality and portion size. In the past you could feed two people on one dish, not anymore. Major disappointment!

Taj is tucked in an office park in Edwardsville just off highway 157. It is nicely decorated, the staff is nice and the food is good, but a tad rich. Great lunch buffet $7.95! Tea, entrees, salad bar and dessert included!

Well, first off, let me be clear, I am no fan of Indian food. Mostly because curry is put in just about everything. Curry tends to make me very sick (for some reason my stomach can't handle it). I checked this place out anyway since I do have an open mind about food. Plus I like to sample food from other countries and cultures. When I walked in, I immediately asked the host if I can look at the buffet and he said yes. He even answered my questions about what has curry in it. So I decided to eat there, and I'm partly glad that I did. I got the buffet, and some of the items I got were the white rice, naan, chicken wings (I don't know what was on them but it wasn't curry), honey-coated fried cheese balls, as well as fried vegetables (I guess their version of fast food?!). I was impressed with the veggies. Wish I had something to dip them in! But I am glad I gave it a chance. That doesn't mean I'll be back though. However, I recommend this place to any Indian cuisine enthusiast!

I really like this place..the people inside are great!..i went there for the Sunday buffet. I was a bit worried that i would be too late for the "fresh" stuff on the buffet but they brought out new stuff. I appreciate everything being well marked so you can see exactly what you are trying and can reorder off menu during dinner. They also have a facebook page you can check out prior to going ro see what is on the buffet that day-keep that up!! The naan was phenomenal and the chili chicken was fantastic. I also like how they must be looking at these reviews to improve. A couple previous reviews displayed some shortcomings which, after my visit, I believe they have worked out. Good job on a great restaurant..keep up the good work!

As visitors to the USA from Australia we were delightfully surprised to find an Indian restaurant in Edwardsville Illinois which is the equal of any in any country that we have visited. The food was first class, the Naan bread and Roti delicious. We shared the tandoori mixed grill, the Taj chicken special and a goat dish and rice. It was sensational and although we were late arriving the service could not have been more obliging. In addition the bill was exceptionally reasonable compared to prices in Australia, the UK or Europe. We really enjoyed our visit and I think this well kept Edwardsville culinary secret needs to be more widely known.

Wonderful lunch buffet which offers a great opportunity to sample many different kinds of Indian food without the expense of ordering individual dishes. The Tandoori chicken is the best! Their Naan is wonderful and perfectly cooked. Be sure to save room for the rice pudding for desert... delightful! I have taken many friends here and it always is a delight. The entire buffet is low on spices and anyone can enjoy the fare. Service was wonderful and the staff enjoys talking about the different dishes. Great experience and reasonably priced for lunch.

First time at their new location, love all the new space. Food was excellent as well. Highly recommend the simosas and mango shake. We also enjoyed their paneer saag and biryani. By far one of our favorite india restaurants around the st louis area.
