Had heard about this place from an employee who worked here. Kept begging me to try it and promised I wouldn't be disappointed. He was right. Had the pulled pork and rib combo with Mac and cheese and baked beans. Ribs were dry rubbed and fall off the bone tender. Pulled pork was moist and almost too tender. Mac and cheese was delicious, baked beans average. 4 homemade BBQ sauces to choose from. The Carolina Comfort was mustardy and great. Similar to an old favorite I had found in FL and had been unable to find in IL. My husband liked the Kansas City Red sauce. We got both bottles to go for $5 a piece and they came in a squeeze bottles with cap. Complimentary serving of their homemade potato chips rounded out the meal. Will definitely go back. I have a feeling if they were located closer to the highway (I55), or advertised along it, they would of been packed. Great meal and reasonably priced!
1) A rude female took our order and was obviously annoyed. She rolled her eyes and sighed several times while making our plates. We gave her no reason to be so irritated with us. 2) Brisket should NOT be chewey and stretchy!!! Especially brisket claiming to be "Texas brisket". I can make a better brisket anyday without all the regular smoking and bbq tools. 3) Sides were weird. There are no "typical" sides which I find odd. They may not feel the need for them, to each their own. Overall, with all the hype over this place, I expected to really like it. I was incredibly let down.
Had the gun slinger, and everything was delicious! The staff was friendly and helpfull. The brisket baked beans are a must, brisket was juicy and very flavorfull. The ribs are dry rub with plenty of sauces available, but they don't need it! The potatoe salad was ok, and the sausage was over done

Not sure why people rate a 4 when they say everything is great, but I will give it a 5 star rating. The pizza is excellent with a thin crust and prepared just the way you want. The employees are always nice and wanting to make sure you have everything you want and just the way you want. The decor is kind of a tribute to the local sports and local residents who have gone on to continue their dream in the athletic field. Small place with seating for approximately 25 with a t.v. for you to watch if you so desire. I love the idea of having the pop counter so we could get our own refill when we wanted and not have to bother or wait for someone (as I hate having to bother a waitress just for a refill when they are busy). Stop in when you are near Dwight (Exit 217 on I55 - located behind Burger King) for excellent pizza, Italian Beef, or Chicken Sandwiches.
Called ahead for lunch. Order was fast and food was great. Staff was outstanding. Breaded tenderloin was one of the best I've had. Others said the Italian beef was great also. Will definitely come back if in the area again.
I've eaten here a handful of times, once dining in with friends, and the others have been carry out. Each time has been during eveng hours. Overall it's a good pizza joint. We really like their thin crust. Prices are average, quality is good.

Great stop for those wanting a good meal while traveling! The service was quick and friendly and the portions large and tasty! I had the hot turkey sandwich, and much to my delight the turkey was real carved turkey - not the super processed food you normally get. Thankful to have found this gem! Cute rt 66 theme, friendly small town place!
This is a quaint little restaurant in a small town. I met my dad and step mom here for lunch. The soups were really good and I got a club sandwich, hard to mess that up. The only issue was that my dad's fish was not cooked all the way. It was essentially raw, which makes me nervous. So be careful what you order. The servers were all really nice. I feel bad that they had to wait on my dad who did not handle the fact that he was served uncooked fish very well. If I ever pass through Dwight again, I might stop by, but probably not.
I'm glad it's over. The dead cricket in the entrance was just the beginning. The flies buzzing over the tables competing for air space with the gnats was disturbing. I'll let you know if I get sick.

The Country Mansion Restaurant

I can only speak to the buffet food here as we've never ordered off the menu. We meet here every few years or so for a family gathering. The staff has always been efficient and accommodating. The Sunday buffet consists of several breakfast items like bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy and pastries, plus some lunch items such as roast beef, fried chicken and mashed potatoes, plus salad, fruit and dessert. The latest time we were there they had a roast pork with Jerk sauce that was great! The historic mansion and grounds are fairly well kept. The only thing that kept me from a 3 star review here is the price of the buffet, $15.50, seems just a bit high for the selection.
Very nice, big, old house on a back street. Might be the nicest restaurant in Dwight. A very pleasant surprise.
Unlike the last review, i have an opposite review of this great restaurant. This a great place to eat,and the food is delicious here. The buffet is excellent with a big selection offered on it. You can also order off the menu and the prime rib is very good and they know how to serve it.Me & my gf come here from out of town and we look forward to it.The servers our nice & friendly and the atmosphere is older style with lots of antiques around. The prices our not bad either comparable to any chain restaurant.

Arby’s

Reviews:
Too funny not to review. This is your basic Arby's. My beef and cheddar was as delicious as I remembered it tasting (it had been a long time since I last sampled) and the curly fries just as great. I did not have a gross out experience like Ben B. Bathrooms unremarkable but not dirty. The high school girls behind the counter polite. I rang the bell for great service. Good pit stop on the way to St. Louis.
Food was excellent. Cooked while we waited so it was hot and fresh. The dining room was clean and staff were friendly. I had a Beef & Cheddar. My daughter had a chicken strip kid meal. I don't mind waiting when food is hot and fresh
This has to be the worst Arby's I've been to. The servers are illiterate, and so slow. After repeating my order at least 3 times he finally got it. Order by number of meal because they can't read chicken cordon bleu on their screen. After waiting 20 minutes my food was cold. I watched other people complain and the manager just gave them a blank stare.
