Very friendly staff and very good pizza! I say that as a Chicagoan, where supposedly we have the best pizza.
Had Sunday Brunch for $5.99 and it was worth it. Coffee was a Dollar more, But, it was Good Coffee. Will be going back.
Very sociable hostesses and even better later hours. I really enjoy their baked pasta dishes and thick crust pizza.

I visit this location often and am never disappointed. The food is always hot and fresh with lots of flavor. Service is impeccable with friendly and helpful staff. The owner is great and maintains a restaurant worth 5 stars. I highly recommend this location.
Good food. Friendly service. Cheap. The restaurant isn't exactly decorated well but it's yummy. When you walk in and order you can see them cutting up fresh vegetables and making everything.
Fantastic little hole in the wall diner. Stopped in on a reference during a business call to the area and I WILL be returning. Prices were reasonable but the food blew me away. I got the pepper steak and loved it despite the frustration of trying to eat it while driving. The girl working the counter during my visit was friendly and quick with suggestions.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've been too!! Great atmosphere & the tiramisu is DELICIOUS!!!
Our experience was not good. The mozzarella sticks were low quality and the marinara sauce was like Prego Weren't impressed with the chicken Marsala Staff was friendly
Well, I am back again with an updated review. Tonight I tried the feature appetizer, Bruchetta. Frickin awesome! Soup of the day was minestrone, again, homemade and delicious. Entree was gnocchi basilica. Spot on perfection. 5 stars. Best restaurant in Dixon.

Arthurs is worth the drive.
Look, I grew up with Arthur's way before there was subway or jimmy johns or potbelly. It has ruined me for all other sandwich chains. I'm going to be honest - I've ordered only one sandwich from there since childhood - the ham, pepperoni, mozzarella. My family has had every sandwich, soup and baked potato they make and we all have our favorite. I can't imagine any meat and cheese combination trumping the ham, pepperoni, mozzarella. That noted, I never felt there was any need to deviate. People from all over the place long for Arthur's. - word of mouth is incredible. People that went to the University of Iowa, people that have had any reason to get of the interstate at Dixon, people that know anyone from Dixon, Sterling, Rock Falls, the University of Iowa . . . You catch my drift. Place is an institution.
Came off the highway but it was worth it! Delicious food, clean restrooms. The baked potato options are truly unique.

If their motto is "grease is good" they they succeed. Fried foods is what this place does best.
Ate here recently. Three in our party had the chicken fingers and fries. The chicken was crispy, juicy, and delicious. The fries have significantly improved since the last time I was in here. They came out hot and crispy. The other person in our party had the double-cheeseburger with fries. He made it a point to ask me why I had not bothered to bring him to this restaurant sooner. When we were finished eating the owner joked with us and hoped we enjoyed everything (we did). I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. It's a nice family owned restaurant with good food.
If want good chicken this not a bad place to stop and get some.. My family wanted both quarters and strips . I tried both and I can say they are both good along with the fries and rings.. Price is fair and I sure can't complain . Not a bad place actually very good..

Great home cooked food! The fried mushroom appetizer was fresh and not frozen and a large portion! Even as a vegetarian i was able to get a salad bar and baked potato. The salad bar has the usual stuff but also so very good homemade bean salads & macaroni salad. My husband had the 3 plate combo with ribs, shrimp, and cod with mashed potatoes and said it was great. Impressive view of the river! Don't be scared away by the looks of the place because it was a great dinner!
Great Onion Rings, Good Waitress, Great Salad Bar, wasn't big But everything taste fresh and good. Will Go Back. Prices are reasonable.
The food is decent. Normal American food, nothing fancy. The inside is kind of dirty, but the service is great. They're pretty nice there.

Thank you for years of great food! This is the original and best! Scratch made gravy daily. I grew up on this place and still come back for more... They don't have a big fancy new restaurant but the food is everything. Don't waste your time with anything else in town.
My wife and I went there Saturday night as you walk in we noticed there wasn't much of a crowd. The waitress took our order which consisted of one pizza with three toppings. After waiting over 50 minutes our pizza finally arrived. This was no fault of our waitress who kept checking back with the kitchen and she knew that we had waited entirely too long. While waiting this long it gave me an opportunity to look at The interior of this place and it definitely needs a good cleaning. After starting to eat our pizza we realized that there was no sausage. We got a hold of our waitress and she apologized and offered to give us the pizza for half price. Actually I have had much better then this pizza and I can't figure out how they have been in business for over 50 years. To say the least this was our first and last time here. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the nice waitress we had. She deserves much more than what this place was offering her.
I don't know how much of a chore it is to make your own sausage if you're a pizza place, but man, what a difference. According to our super-helpful server, Al & Leda's pizza has homemade sausage, sauce, and crust. The cheese is shredded from big blocks, which apparently affects the deliciousness. I live an hour away, but we have friends in Morrison, and I'm already looking forward to stopping in again for that sausage pizza. On top of that, our server was great - she gave us a bunch of information about the business (hope Leda's okay with everyone knowing she's in her 80s!) and had great ideas for keeping the pizza fresh, etc. If you're looking for a fine dining experience with different forks for each course, this is not the spot. If you're looking for excellent pizza, great prices, and wonderful service, Al & Leda's is quaint and comfortable and should do the trick nicely.

I eat at McDonald's maybe once a month. Supporting BigAg and eating sodium bombed food isn't a priority of mine. I was passing through Dixon on my way to Milwaukee. Dixon is a pretty small city but the restaurants don't seem to be plenty. The golden arches glowed on the other side of the river. The restaurant was clean. The food was prepared fast and correct (san onion and cheese). It filled that void in my stomach. There was a huge kids' play area. I'm not a kid but if I was I'd be jumping in the ball pit until I puked my hamburger happy meal. Word.
