Mmmm, Krekel's. I worked at this location for 3 years before heading off to college 5 years ago, and I can still say I love it. Not many people can work at a fast food through high school and still stand to eat it. Fantastic made-to-order burgers that melt in your mouth. Crispy crinkle fries. Phenomenal milkshakes (go for the hot fudge milkshakes), and unique lemon ice cream. If you really don't care about your daily caloric intake, dip your fries in cheddar cheese. This location has plenty of seating and parking. Highly recommend! Tips: Cash only, Closed Sundays, this location's burgers are more on the juicy side and the fries are the crinkle fries.

Good hamburgers and breaded tenderloin....nothing special but fast food good! A much better choice than any of the chain hamburger joints.

I know people who have moved away from Decatur and still have to come back for a Krekel's fix at least once a year. The owners are great and so is the food. My family swears by the burgers whereas I have always preferred the chicken sandwich. They also have great shakes and some of the best ice cream available. Doesn't matter what season it is, I always want a shake :)

If you know Krekel's you know a great thin, hot, juicy, fresh hamburger joint! Everyone I know who comes to Decatur or has lived in Decatur knows Krekel's is an establishment/fixture in town. Where else can you go and get a double cheeseburger that is juicy and a little greasy sandwich serviced to go, even if you say "for here please" (which I DON'T RECOMMEND!) You might get a funny look. They even have triple burgers. Crinkle fries are good too...salt is on the table (picnic table). And don't forget the milkshakes or the famous custard cone with orange sprinkles. My nieces and nephews still order the cones every single visit. I cannot say enough about the memories and friends I see here when I come to town. It is everything a small town establishment should be.
