Great place to have breakfast with the family. The food is great and the service can be slow at times when it gets busy. Overall I really enjoy having breakfast here and would recommend it to anyone.

Had THE WORST grouper ever! I normally would not order fish in a restaurant like this but having had many great meals over the years, I wasn't scared. The grouper ($12.99) looked more like Tilapia and was a translucent color and rubbery texture, the rice pilaf was a mix of overcooked rice and semi cooked rice and overcooked tasteless carrots.. I sent the fish back to be cooked longer. My bf finished his entire meal by the time my fish was refired. It was no better than the initial presentation. I would not eat it and nicely told the waitress (who was great btw) why. I saw & heard her tell the owner that I didn't like my meal and why. When I went up to the register to pay, the owner asked how everything was and I nicely told him. He knocked $5 off the $35.00 bill for the meal I couldn't eat. This is the last time I will ever go to this place. I later found out that the original owner had sold the business so that would explain the crappy quality and the crappier attitude.

I've driven by this place for years and finally got around to having breakfast here Sunday morning. It was packed when we walked in, yet we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server came over to us within 2 minutes to get our beverage order. This is a nice place, kinda kitchy. Totally casual. Our server came back with our coffee, took our order, and was off yet again. This was one busy woman, and I wish I knew her name because she was so, so wonderful. I ordered the banana crepes, my husband ordered eggs benedict and a side of potato pancakes. I loved my crepes, they were just like they should be. Hub liked the eggs benny, but the potato pancakes.....eeek. Shiver. Ooooh. Weidness here. We're not Potato Pancake Sommeliers by any means, but whoa. I think a 5 year old would bite into those and proclaim them totally not kosher. They were like....like.....patties of mashed (mashed!) potatoes coated in Shake-n-Bake with a dash of Emeril Essence, and deep fried for a few minutes. We each took a small bite, and left the other 3 3/4 pancakes on the plate. Our server came back to check on us after a few minutes and we said nothing because... I don't know. She was so nice and it was so crazy in there and we just thought, "Well....whatever." Now here's the kicker...when she came to clear our plates she asked right away if we hadn't liked the p.pancakes. We admitted to her that they were just different than what we were used to and she apologized sincerely. At least she acknowledged it. The issue was over in our minds. But then she came back with our check and had had the p.pancakes taken off the bill. She said to mu husband, "You didn't enjoy them - you shouldn't be charged." SO. WONDERFUL. This woman whose name I can not remember. We left her a nice tip in gratitude. She is the reason we would go back there. But for now I'm going with 3 stars until we can get back there and try some other items on the menu.

I go here for breakfast all the time. I have never had dinner or ordered from the lunch menu. Service is always quick and friendly. If you want an apple pancake. they take 45 min, so if you don't have time to wait, call ahead. My usual order is bacon eggs and hashbrowns with the occasional skillet.

This place is in the top five for my personal most underwhelming lunches ever. The two stars is generous in my opinion. The only plus was a decent waitress and the food came quick. The place itself was very dismal. Bad lighting. Awkwardly had to walk around full tables. There were so many elderly people hacking and coughing that I was honestly getting nauseous listening to it. I have nothing against the elderly, I myself will be elderly someday, but listening to them cough and choke does not make for an appetizing dining atmosphere. That being said, the food...probably the most bland, tasteless food I've ever received in a family restaurant. I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich. Chicken, bacon, avocado, etc...I was expecting a southwestern(?) party on a plate. It seriously had no flavor. At all. Even the fries, and it pains me to say this, as I love fries, were completely devoid of flavor! My ten year old left half his chicken fingers and almost all of his fries untouched. So they had to be just as bad. It was almost as though I went out to eat with a bad cold, like you can tell what you're eating is hot, and that's about it. I am used to The View and Les Brothers, the Kind of places where you keep eatingto the point of physical discomfort just because it tastes so good. This is more like a hospital cafeteria for people who's doctor's told them they can't have flavored food.

Been going to this restaurant from when it first opened several years ago. I have never been disappointed, and have introduced many other customers to it. The menu offers a big variety, and there normally is need for a "doggy bag". Sometimes it gets crowded, but that's usually a sign that the food is worth waiting for. I moved out of the area, but am always happy when I can get back there. It is in a small shopping plaza, and could easily be overlooked from the main street, but do try it. It is my favorite non-ethnic type restaurant.

My favorite place in the universe to eat. No kidding. Even friends of mine who eat little shovel it down their piehole when we dine here. Something to say right there. I've only had one bad experience with service here, and it's the young girl who has everyone else light the saganaki for her. In a move that could only happen to me, it's the same girl who now has a job at my other favorite joint, Time Out. Could only happen in Countryside. The next time she went in, she was much more focused and good to go. Even if the place is packed (a lot of the time), the service is awesome. It's no mystery to anyone I love saganaki. I have said I haven't found a better one than Time Out, but this one, wow, it's pretty close. Their soups are fantastic. I highly recommend the split pea, the chicken dumpling, and if you like your chili a little on the spicy side, the chili. Their salads should be avoided. My friend got the Caesar's Salad and there was no Caesar dressing. Also, no croutons. Both of which are staples in the typical Caesar salad. Another friend got the taco salad, with no cheese. What? Yes, you read that right. Avoid those salads. Their breakfast is awesome. Tons of choices, tons of specials, and if you request hash browns well done, you get them that way. No shortage of different sorts of pancakes, they also have all sorts of different benedicts to choose from, also skillets, etc. Their breakfast runs all day, which is also a hard commodity in sit-down restaurants these days. No complaints on any breakfast menu here. Regular dishes? I haven't tried too many, but I can personally attest that the roast turkey breast is excellent, as is the roast beef. Their sandwiches are hearty and fresh. The Athenian Chicken is by far my favorite. I absolutely would throw someone into an outhouse with Oprah for that chicken. Divine. Their daily specials are a whole page and cater to all sorts of diners. Another plus. They have a full bar set up there and can make any drink you request. Their house wines are actually not bad at all for the reasonable 4.00 price for a glass. Their coffee is standard restaurant fare, but they keep your refills coming. Never a problem keeping your water carafe filled either, which is a plus in my book. Their hours are another plus. Open super early and until 10pm during the week, 9pm on Sunday. It's hard to find a place open that late on a Sunday, but if you're going to find that place, let it be Willow Hills. You won't be sorry.

Great breakfast spot if you are in the area. All of the staff is very friendly and the food is always consistently good. I would recommend.

I come here every so often with the family because it's just right around the corner from where I live. It's a small little restaurant with a home-y feel, like you're eating breakfast in your own home. The service is fairly quick and the waitress is amiable. The prices are decent for what it is. I tend to get different variations of crepes whenever I'm there and they're always fluffy and delicious (and packed with calories). Granted, they don't do much in the ways of making their food presentable, it's kind of just placed on the plate but I kind of like that about this place. They aren't trying to be flashy, they're just a down-to-earth, local breakfast joint. I wouldn't know what their lunch dishes are like since I'm always there for breakfast, but I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the area & looking for a nice, home-style meal.

Great Breakfast place with a diverse menu. We had six in our party and had people order the waffle sundae, omelets, crepes, biscuits and gravy, and fried eggs with bacon. All of it was fantastic! The service was quick, friendly, and very helpful - even helped us take some of our pancakes back for other family members still at the hotel with extra syrup, plastic utensils, etc. Highly recommend this place for breakfast!

There are a ton of breakfast places around this area. I'm actually surprised no one shares by preference for Willow Hill! Even though it's always crowded (especially on Sunday mornings), the staff tries to turn around tables as quickly as possible. It's rare you have to wait (at least for a party of 2). The breakfast menu is a good size and the portions are usually quite large. I've had a few things off the lunch menu, but never anything else. Good food & good service.

Located 2 doors down from the Walgreen's on the corner of Willow Springs Rd and Joliet Rd. It's your basic "You can get anything here" type of restaurant. I go there often for breakfast or "brinner". This is a place where everyone comes to fill their belly. Several memvers of the owner's family are always there. They have daily specials, senoir specials and just good quality food. They have cocktails. No bar but they will make you a cocktails or serve you a beer. Most nights they are closed by 9PM.

I came here with my parents on a Sunday night for dinner. The place had a fair amount of people, but many open tables. I felt cozy right off the bat with the warm paint colors and atmosphere. The restaurant boasts many breakfast, lunch and dinner options at super reasonable prices. I ordered the southwest chicken sandwich, deluxe style (came with soup). I love these kinds of places that give you a whole basket of rolls and little breadsticks- its such a treat to load those up with whipped butter! The soup was actually hot, which was amazing to see. The sandwich had large pieces of chicken, melted cheese on top, and two big portions of avocado on it. The bread it was on was fresh and toasted. The fries though were a little off to me. They were pretty pale, and had a little bit of a strange flavor- like maybe they had been sitting on cardboard? Other than that, no problems. Portions were big, and the rest of my table liked their food too. Our waitress was attentive and quick with coffee and pop refills. I definitely want to come back to try breakfast soon!

Friendly place with good service. I had the eggs Benedict. The cook has no idea what a poached egg is. The English muffin was topped with very thick sliced tomato, avocado, bacon, egg over easy (eww) , and what was supposed to be hollandaise sauce. The hash browns were ok. I had a side of bacon, it was delicious. But hey the service was good. Probably won't be back.

Willow Hills was good! The inside was clean, the service was good for a busy place, and the food was good. What a pleasant surprise this place was for a breakfast restaurant. We are from out of town and have been disappointed at some of the restaurants in this area, but we will be back here before we leave town.

Our family has been going to Willow Hills for years. My husband and granddaughter both like their breakfasts - available any time of day. I typically have a lunch of some sort; today I had a hot turkey sandwich, served with the just-right potatoes, mashed but with just a hint of lumps that let you know they are homemade. The waitress was friendly and attentive, despite the fact that the restsurant was pretty full. (It was a school holiday, so there were tables with parents/grandparents and children, in addition to regular weekday cutimers.) Our waitress even offered extra gravy for the turkey -- a nice touch I have not encountered anywhere else. We enjoy the food and the service here, and will keep coming!

Your typical neighborhood pancake house/family restaurant. The food and customer service are good and there is plenty of parking and seating in the dining room, but the prices on some of the food items are a little high. Good place to go if you live in the area, but there places in the area that offer the same quality of food at a more reasonable price

One of my favorite breakfast and lunch locations. The meals are generous sized. Breakfast is always cooked up fresh and exactly as you order it. The menu and food remind me of the old time diners in the city when I was a kid. The staff are super friendly and will help you figure out exactly how you want something. Then they make sure you get exactly like that. The home fries are huge in portions! The lunch menu also offers a great variety. You can go with skinny dieters stuff, or with the full pledged American Meat and Potatoes. You MUST try the soup of the day: the Baked French Onion is to die for. Save room for dessert. They have some awesome pies.

Absolutely love this place! Been going here for years. Went today for father's day breakfast and even though it was extremely busy the service was still great and the food was even better. Usually go for breakfast. They have great skillets and the pancakes are delicious. I have only had lunch/dinner a few times. Love the soups. The wings are tasty but do not have any sauce on them - which wasn't what I expected but still good :) Totally recommend this place to anyone! :)

I've actually never been to this area, but my husband and I were out here for a wedding. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, and instead of eating at its overpriced restaurant, we came to Willow Hills for breakfast. It was a Sunday morning, and we had a group of seven people. The place was hopping, but we were seated right away. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet with toast. Super delicious! Everyone else liked what they ordered, as well. The service was good. Since we were in a larger group, I think it took a little longer than usual to get our food, but we weren't in a rush. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, especially in filling up our water. If I'm ever in this area again, I'll definitely be back!

First time in here and the food wasn't bad. The server could have been friendlier but all in all a decent experience. I had the hot roast beef and it was pretty good for a place like this. The gravy was a little off but the beef was very good. The mashed potatoes were pretty decent as well. I would go back to try other things. Nothing stellar but worth a trip if ur In town.

Great variety of food for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. My husband enjoys the pork chops and hot turkey sandwich. I like the scrod and chicken ceasar pita. All of the sandwiches come with soup and the soups are delicious. Portion sizes are decent - we usually end up taking home leftovers. We've been coming here at least once a week for years and I don't think we've ever had a bad meal. Friendly owner, hostess, and waitresses. Service is usually good. Waitresses and busboys are very attentive. I like when they give us a pitcher of water so we can refill our glasses as often as we want.

I discovered this place a couple years ago and now go at least once a month for breakfast or lunch. The food is consistantly good. My whole family of picky eaters can find something they like in the vast menu. I love their salads expecially the Cobb and Athenian. They give you the choice of mixed greens or iceberg. The omelets are very good and the hashbrowns cooked to perfection.

Food and server was great. Hostess/manager is rude every time unless you're over 75. Shes so nice to them, hugs and making small talk. I placed a carry out order once and it seemed to inconvenience her. Whatever.

This is our favorite place to eat. My husband and I go here so much that we are like family. The food is great and the service is beyond good. Thank God for Willow Hills. It has saved me from many nights of slaving over a hot stove. Chris the owner is the Best and so are the women who work for him.

It was a basic breakfast. Stick-to-your ribs breakfast basics and not many healthy choices, but good service and a good place to connect for a meeting.

Six of us for a late breakfast on a Thursday, about 10:15am. About 75% full with a steady flow of customers. Everyone had a different egg dish. All were very good. The link sausage and bacon were especially good and the hash browns were outstanding. One issue was that I had asked for my English muffin well done, but it was soft. Also, two of us had poached eggs. I asked for them soft and they were perfect. Another asked for them medium and he thought they were a little too soft. A lot of the other reviews say the service is friendly. The service is prompt and responsive, but I think it could be friendlier. This was my second time here and I think all of will be back.

Had a lovely breakfast. by far the friendliest service we have had. the thin French toast was amazing. my parents had the sausage and gravy and were a little disappointed there wasn't more sausage or flavor to the gravy. would definitely recommend and plan to go back to try other things on their large menu.

Found Willow Hills on yelp. We were looking for a new breakfast place. Omelette was decent, not great. Toast was basically warmed up bread. French toast average. Best part of meal was the fruit cup -- lots of grapes, pineapple and cantaloupe. Server friendly. A decent breakfast place, not great.

Went here one Sunday morning after a night out. Our waitress was terrible. Actually most of the staff is super unfriendly. The cream of chicken soup was good. The open face turkey sandwich was just okay. My boyfriend thought his skirt steak was decent. Overall, I wasn't impressed. The food wasn't a nightmare but the looming attitude of the staff hating their jobs is in the air and it made me uncomfortable. I could overlook that if the food was 5 star, but it's not, 3 star at best. I love local joints but this place missed the mark. We probably wont be back, there are far better places around to throw our money at. Total ticket for 2 close to lunchtime, was a little over 20 bucks before tip.

We grabbed breakfast here on a Sunday morning....it was just ok. I had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Everything was mediocre except the sausage links and hash browns were really good. My boyfriend had country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, and eggs. He thought the hash browns were good and thought everything else was average. Overall, I'd say it was a little pricy for the quality. I probably wouldn't eat here again.

Have been eating here with my family since it opened. Fantastic prices and huge portions- there are always leftovers. Bring everyone who comes in from out of town- way better than PAlmers. Can get crowded sunday mornings but worth the wait. Favs are skirt steak and greek style chicken. Love all the waitresses- be nice and they will treat you like family.
