Had a decent unbreaded tenderloin and waffle fries. Server was very nice. Seemed like a heat and serve place. Didnt see anything made from scratch so I probably wont be back. I can heat stuff up at home.

The style of this restaurant is a basic small town diner. I travel a lot from the Chicago area to Iowa. Over the years we have had several different Go To restaurants along the way. Country Fixins is now our new go to place. The service is very quick and the waitresses are always friendly. The local people that frequent the restaurant are very nice. We look forward to stopping here whenever we are traveling in the area. They have a hand made pork tenderloin sandwich that is one of the best you will ever have. It is twice the size of the bun!! Last time in I had the tenderloin and fried green beans. Both were excellent. They have home made pies also that always hit the spot. On a recent visit they had a meatloaf special that looked really good. I struck a conversation with Roger at the counter that was enjoying the meatloaf. He told me it was really good and mentioned that it was so tender he could enjoy it even without his teeth in. That seems to be a pretty good proof that it was tender. Good down home food, great service, very clean (even the restrooms, and a very friendly clientele. What more can you ask for. I will stopping there tomorrow. I gotta have that tenderloin and some fried green beans. Maybe even visit with Roger again. Give em a try you cant go wrong!!

Had the french dip and meat was thin and processed. Au Jus instant. My husband`s chef salad had the same complaint- turkey and ham were processed meats. Ice tea not great. Fries were hot but coated with something, which did not help. . Nice people, but thumbs down on this one.

Let me start with the positives for Country Fixins. It's very clean, the staff is friendly, and the breakfast is decent. There's nothing very impressive about this restaurant. My meal today was meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, a dinner roll and salad bar. I took my food to go so they gave me a to go container to put the salad bar items in. The food wasn't terrible, but I will tell you the best thing I ate was the salad. The meatloaf might have been good if it wasn't so overcooked and it was VERY salty, this was my first time having the meatloaf so I don't know if its always this way. The green beans were canned, but they were cooked with bacon so its not like they just microwaved it. The mashed potatoes were instant. If you're traveling down 80 I would just keep driving. Locals eat here, but I think its just for variety because our only other options in town are Pizza Hut, Subway, and China King.

Off of I-80, easily accessible to travelers, this is a great diner with the hometown restaraunt appeal. Breakfast....yummy. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Anytime of the day. My brother took me out to eat at this place for breakfast. It is a small town restaurant, usually filled with locals. For good reason. It's a hidden gem. I had "The Farm Side". Let me tell ya. It was good!!! The eggs...cooked perfectly over easy. All of the food tasted fresh and was well prepared. It was a late lunch and they actually had the grill fired up outside. Mmm. Did it ever smell good.... There is nothing flashy about this restaurant. It has your down home feel and a relaxed atmosphere. The parking is not paved, it is gravel. The service is great and friendly. My coffee cup stayed full the whole time I was there. Next time I am in town I will be trying lunch here.

Great home style cooking. Only been there twice so far every meal has been good. Deep fried breaded pork chop! Need I say more?
