My fiance and I were taken here by a friend that lives down here. I had the carnita and chorizo taco and a spicy tamale AMAZING authentic Mexican food. My fiance had the steak and chrizo taco and spicy tamale all the food was fantastic. I've had Mexican in del Rio Texas that wasn't this good. Highly recommend stopping by here.
It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is delicious. We would drive out of our way for these steak tacos. Salsa is spicy, add in some cilantro, and it was so tasty. Very good, and very friendly staff. You won't be sorry!
Had a pork burrito, very tasty, pork cooked just right and juicy. Small place nut food is very good. I will be back.

My girlfriends and I were in town for my bachelorette party, and we decided to head somewhere local for dinner. We saw a sign for pizza, and we walked right in! The customer service was very good. Our waitress was really helpful helping us decide what was good on the menu. We decided to order their toasted raviolis, which were yummy, and their pizza. We decided on their double pizza out of curiosity, and I am a fan. The other girls I was with LOVED it. I thought it was just ok. A lot of cheese for my liking. We had a lot of leftovers, let's just say that. The only negative to my experience was my soda. It tasted really funny. The other girls that ordered beer had no problems. Overall a great place!
I had a great time at the Palace last time I went. The pizza was really good, and the thick crust was nicely baked--not too crisp and not too doughy either. Karaoke, though, was awesome. Great karaoke DJ, a good crowd of singers, and a fun environment. The owner even came by and introduced herself after I sang. I'm glad to have moved down the road from this place. I'll be coming back often.
Pros: Tastes good! Cons: Poor directions from highway, not really a "tourist attraction" Tip for out-of-the-area visitors: The Palace is in Cobden. Roadside signs do not give adequate directions/location. While driving in this area on Highway 51 we noticed a blue sign that named Palace Pizzeria as a "tourist attraction." We were kinda curious as to how a pizza place could be considered a "tourist attraction," so we asked our B&B host. He said that although Cobden is not a hub of activity, there might be entertainment, games, etc. So I was thinking a small version of Chunk E. Cheese except for a more general audience age. So we order a pizza. Not knowing the address, we figured we'd just find the sign again and follow directions from there. Once you exit the highway, though, you're on your own. At one point the road forked and we picked and we drove down the larger path. We hit Coben High School. Not having remembered a pizza parlor, we turned back and went the other way. The other path was windy and lead through a lot of residential back country. After 15 minutes of driving around on the windy road we headed back to Cobden to see if we could get directions from there. Well, lo and behold, the Palace is in Cobden! So we spent a total of 40 minutes aimlessly driving around when the drive was only 10 minutes from where we were staying. The place is a small hole-in-the-wall. There is no way you could call this a "tourist attraction" unless you consider watching the grass grow entertainment. Since this is a very small town, it is more of a Friday/weekend get together spot. The pizza itself was delicious, and I am glad we finally found The Palace. The sauce was nice and thick and had a savory flavor to it. We requested thin crust, and it was correctly made, a little crisp on the outside, but not so thin as to be soggy. I subtracted one star since there needs to be better signage directing people to the place, especially since you're putting one sign on the highway telling people to turn off. Also because for 95% of people The Palace is not a "tourist attraction" but someplace (good) to eat.

After a few people around the area recommend our group this place we decided to give it a try. When we got there the friendly hosted sat us down in our table and immediately after we got seated our waitress came and took our drink and food order... So far so good... Our first round of drinks came around, then second round of drinks all fine; waitress super friendly. One hour and fifteen minutes later our waitress came back and said that there was a screw up with the order and our order was never put in and that she had just put in the order and that it will be out in just a few... We had to wait another 2 minutes and our FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. Everything was cold and stalled. I don't even want to waste more time writing this review as is already making me sick. Please take my advice and do yourself a favor.........DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE
The Greek salad with filet mignon was amazing. The dressing had a little spicy kick to it. It was a huge salad that made a great dinner. My husband had the juicy burger. It was stuffed with cheese (what's not to like!) The biggest surprise though we're the FRIES. These were the best fries I've ever had! Soft and delicious in the middle and light and crispy on the outside. They were perfect!
Glad someone else was driving: don't think I could have found this on my own with Google Maps. Cajun/steak house, but walking in and checking plates of other diners in this full and busy place it looks like steaks, catch fish and burgers is what everyone enjoys around here. I shared a starter with my dinner companions: chili cheese fries that had wonderful pulled pork in it too. Very good except for the ice cold layer of shredded cheese on top. My enter was the Delmonico Steak: a cut of beef I don't run across much back home but here it was deliciously served 'medium' as I requested. The house salad, nice and plain nothing fancy, was also covered in a scoop of cold shredded cheese. My veggies sides were tasty. Parking lot here is just terrible: it was raining today and this lot was nothing more than a mud pit. Service is very slow too, and while friendly, is inattentive and leaves a lot to be desired.

It's a dive. I don't know that you could sit through a Saturday evening here without the band playing at leats a couple of Lynyrd Skynyrd songs. It was surprisingly not too smoky, really, and the band was pretty good at cranking out Creedence. The cast of characters was what made the place: Willie Nelson Impersonator with seveal important teeth missing; Big lesbian checking out the hot bartender; Obvious pervert (which vice we can thankfully only speculate) wearing a T-Shirt that says "Whee! I like Vagina!"; Dorky owner who is obviously a techie of some sort and does NOT know his way around the bar (to the consternation of said hot bartender); Bass player 40 years out of 'Nam... Long hair, tattoos, whiskey shots al around. Everybody was here for fun. Although we were pretty out of place, we never felt uncomfortable. Stop in for a beer or whiskey if you like dive bars. You'll probably have a few laughs.
