I've been coming to this small pizza place since I was a kid. The guy who owns it worked here as a kid, with his dad (I think) and older brother. He's always been a nice guy and very friendly. They have a dinner buffet for $6.45 per person, which consists of: two types of soup (today it was cream of spinach and minestrone) salad pizza (cheese and sausage) eggplant parmesan, roast beef, mostaccioli, meatballs and marinara sauce, polish sausage and (sweet) sauerkraut, potatoes, chicken vesuvio, grilled veggies, and a few other things I can't remember. For dessert, they had tirimisu, bread pudding, and some white cake. I didn't try everything, and not everything I tried was great. (I heard the desserts were stale.) But the soup, beef, potatoes, pizza, and salad were good for the price. It's dark inside, they do have a regular menu (pizza is thin, like a Rosati's), and a little grimey. But it's a local dive that I find charming and tasty.

The pizza is great, maybe one of the best thin crusts around. I've been going to this place for many years with family and friends. We have always enjoyed the pizza for the many years we have been coming. The sad thing is for all the years we've been coming the dining room experience has always been a bag of blah! You occasionally get good service and a nice waiter/waitress, but the service is always mixed. The owners aren't very pleasant, don't really come out of their way to express their thanks for you coming to their restaurant. Some of the waiters and waitresses over the years have complained to us about the owners as well. The pizza is great and it is a good place to get delivery/pick up from, but I'd avoid the dining area here. If you need to come in early on a Saturday night before 7 and you'll be fine.

So I was on my way to the Hut, when I pass this joint and it says, lunch buffet. Great, I pull in because I have Yelped enough of those red roofs to choke a horse. I should have kept going. I walked in and the lady behind the bar asked me what I wanted? Ahh! The buufet? As I step into the dining room, I thought that my contacts were on backwards. There was a foggy cloud hovering around. Check one star off for the exhaust hood not working. I sat down and looked the place over and it seemed a bit run down. Again, is it my eyes, or is that twenty foot buffet line slanting? I went and got a plate . (Of course none of them matched) They had a pretty big selection. Fried shrimp, Baked white fish, roast pork. As I lifted the cover of the ribs, they looked a little dark. The mashed potatos were in the same tray. They looked like they had been there for a week. There were scoops taken out of it, but they edges were turing brown. I took a couple of pieces of chicken versuvio and the pizza with sausage and pepperoni. They looked like they had been made that day. I ate the chicken and I had to guzzle my small soda because it was so frikin dry. As I lifted my head to finish the pop, I read the sign across the room. One refill with soda or iced tea. Well, no more chicken for me. It had a crap load of spices on it, yet it tasted like sawdust? The za was actually pretty good. That was probably the freshest thing on the table. They had tiramisu, pumpkin pie and I think bread pudding. But by that time I thought that my luck was about to run out. So I went to the wash room and there was a sign on the toilet that was as old as the building. Brokin! I think the health inspector must have come here and died eating the food. That's why this place is still open. Not to be Rude, mind you. The pizza is the only thing I would come here for and it better be take-out.

We revisted our local pizza haunt after several years away. The food was still pretty good, but the waitress and service where not how we remember the place. We asked for diet cokes and she brought us diet rite without having the courtesy to explain they sold rc not coke products. The place was empty and in spite of that, she chose to chat with the other wait staff as opposed to checking on our needs.

Best pizza this side of Midway. You want authenticity, taste, and a real bite for your buck, go here. And if you don't wanna make the drive, place an order for delivery. Some of the nicest, and all around professional drivers are waiting to get you what you crave in a timely fashion.

My family has went here for generations, literally. If they read the reviews, the owners should remember the last name LoCoco. We ordered faithfully, always had food delivered, they never even needed our address when we called in. I absolutely love the pizza. I'm simple I like cheese only-crust is perfect, not too thin or thick, always cooked to perfection. My mother loves the antipasto salad with xtra creamy garlic dressing. Anytime I come home to visit, we still make a trip to come to Vince's. Highly recommended.

First time was great. Had half cheese and half pepporoni. It was thin and crispy crust, slight hint of a sweet sauce and one of the best pizzas I've had in awhile. Delivery was fast and I can't wait to try again.

I was raised in this restaurant. Seeing how my family owns it..... I live out in the suburbs and take my friends to the city to get the best pizza. I've been all over the world and this pizza is still the best. Like all restaurants it has its high points and low points. No place is perfect. I saw someone complaining about waiting 25 min for a pizza. You have to be kidding me. That's not a long wait for pizza. Plus all the other food on the menu is top notch. Tried everything on the menu and love it all. My uncles are always changing up the specials and for the price you get your money's worth.

We had stopped here for a quick pizza a couple of weeks ago and were so impressed with the food and service that we decided to host a family party there for today. Everyone that I spoke to in making our arrangements and taking our order were very accommodating. When we arrived for our party, our waitress for the night (Michelle), promptly greeted us and never left our side throughout the night. They had our tables ready and even decorated with balloons. It was a very nice touch. All our food was brought out fast and fresh. We had fried calamari, salads, and a variety of pizzas. The stuffed spinach pizza was absolutely delicious. I was very happy we decided to have our party at Vince's and I was very pleased with our waitress. Best customer service I've received in a long time. In addition to pizza, they also have a full Italian cuisine menu and a daily buffet. There is also a full service bar attached to the restaurant and a nice size parking lot. I would definitely recommend.

I've got to say, if you want a quick regular pizza - Vince's is the way to go! Vince's special pizza is my go-to. This is the type of pizza that leftovers are always great. Not sure what it is in the pizza - sauce or dough, but it's sure a treat!

Worst experience ever. I ordered pizza ($34) first time for delivery at 7:35pm before it finally arrived at 10:45. I'm five min away. I called at 9:45 and they said it's on it way and I called again at 10:15 and they started giving the delivery guy my address. After asking for a discount management would only give me two free liters of pop which I respectfully refused. At the door I asked the driver to call again for a discount and after a couple minutes he just drove off. I was very disappointed and hungry. They never called, apologized or anything. Very poor customer service. I visited recently with friends for dine-in and we all agreed at the time it is very dated and dirty everywhere. I should have trusted my instincts. They don't care.

We order Vince's pizza for delivery all the time and have never had a problem. The bf loves it, I like it a lot (just not AS much as he does). Last night we ordered pizza as usual but this time a couple of us ordered pasta -- fettuccine alfredo (added broccoli) and linguine with muscles and marinara sauce (added mushrooms). First of all WAAAAAY too much sauce on both. Not sure if it was just the chef that day or what. For me, it made the pasta not taste as good. I was able to remove some of the sauce but there was still so much in between the noodles. Calm down on the sauce guys!! Second, the mushrooms were canned -- if you claim to be "authentic Italian," I think you should use FRESH mushrooms. And third, besides the broccoli tops/florets in the alfredo pasta, they also had the stems, but they were HUGE stalks! Who puts the stalks in pasta? I have never gotten alfredo pasta with broccoli that had the stalks in them, it's always just the tops. I thought that was very weird. So I guess bottom line, stick with the pizza and only do delivery (as I see other people have had problems with the staff and the inside of the restaurant is dirty/shabby).

Delicious Everything! I have been there twice now for their lunch buffet and it is very tasty. Both times the restaurant was nearly empty which is surprising given the quality of the food served. Try it out!

The best authentic Italian food in this neighborhood, by far! When my family relocated back to Chicago, it was our first meal out. This is always our go to place for pizza!

More like 4.5 stars. So for ~$12, each person had soup, salad, pasta or potato, and HUGE portions of their dinner entrees. Hands down the best minnestrone ever, cooked with homemade rendered stock and full of amore. So well-seasoned. Salads are iceberg lettuce, but the house vinaigrette is decent. Good homemade bread served with whipped butter. I had chicken cacciatore, which came filling an entire plate with two full chicken breasts and sauce (I usually only eat 1/2 chicken breast at a time, so this is meals for days!). It was rich, briny (love the capers), but not too heavy. Orange roughy with lemon butter was decent (sauce better than the fish), crusted red snapper special also good. One of the highlights the red sauce on the pasta -- heavenly and so fresh. Amazing bread pudding, custardy and just the right balance of cinnamon. Bar is separate from dining area, which looks like a family-style restaurant with booths and tables inside (not what you expect from the outside). The decor is dated, but it kind of adds to the charm of feeling like you're in your friend's Italian grandmother's home having a great meal. Authentic and unpretentious. This is the food of generations -- you can almost hear the years of family celebrations singing through it. There is a wonderful In Memoriam to the original Vince and his wife from decades ago. All the brothers still apparently own and run the restaurant, and one of them took some time to talk with us afterwards. A very homey place. It was the waitress's first night, but she was darling and took care of us. My friend lives in this area and loves the lunch buffet. Recommended.

The pizza is some of the best thin crust I've had in chicago. Generous toppings, sauce, and cheese. The side salad for 2 bucks is crisp and refreshing. Love this place!

I've never had any problems with this restaurant. I've never gone in. But everything I ever get delivered is always good. The calamari is so so so good. We're usually fighting over it. I love the stuffed shells and the appetizers are yummy. I recommend.

This is the finest pizza in the area by far. A long time family owned business that serves up the finest Italian pizza-ever. The rest of the country gets Pizza Hut, Dominoes, but i am lucky enough to have them right here. The sausage pepperoni thin crust is heavenly. All guest to my home are amazed by this great pizza. Friendly service for delivery, always hot and the best sauce in town people. Stop wasting your time with the place you order from just because you have forever. Vince's is the finest true pizza on the south-west side!

This is my first time here, my bf lives down the block and his roommate is a regular, this was the best pizza ( I got sweet peppers and garlic) they have fresh sweet peppers and everything is homemade! We got tiramisu for dessert and it was the best I've ever had!! Then the super sweet owner Mickey came and told us to try the bread pudding, it is the best bread pudding I have ever had and it's all homemade and fresh, the owner is a really nice down to earth guy, I just met him and I already felt at home. I will definitely be back and we took a pizza and dessert to go!

I've been eating at Vince's Pizza for basically my whole life. Hands down the best pizza in the city. I have tried multiple pizza places in the past but none of them compare to Vince's. Service has always been excellent , never had a problem. I will eat there for as long as their open!!

Hale Theatre Company's second home after rehearsals. I come here with HTC after rehearsals and shows. Always greeted with a warm smile by the staff, and their food is delicious, especially the Calzones!!!! Depending on the night, you can catch Open Mic in the bar. It's a great place to come have a casual Friday night pizza date with family, friends, or your sig other.

I bet in its heyday this place rocked. Now, this quaint Italian restaurant is stuck in an ever changing neighborhood trending toward hispanic whom I never see eat in here. Anyway..They have a GREAT buffet Mon - Fri and on Sun for under $8! Now dont think you are gonna expect some professional looking setup like an Old Country Buffet..no..this is more like Family Style from back in the 70s. But dont let that put you off. Their buffet menu is very electic. Where else on a buffet are you gonna find homemade lamb meatballs? (delicious) OR Lemon Risotto? How about Gulash, Stuffed Green Peppers, Baked Mostacolli (sometimes with lamb meat mixed in) bbq ribs, broiled, broasted chicken, mashed potatos to die for! Now this isnt all on there at once, they change up everyday and if you want, you can call at 11am and they will tell you whats on the menu buffet. They also have an xtra large sausage pizza that you can keep going back for. The deserts are great..the cinnamon bread pudding is AWESOME and different! A good change of pace from Home Run Inns buffet which NEVER changes anything up. Oh, Vinces also has fried popcorn shrimp on the buffet as well! GIve this place a try!

Best pizza around. Forget all the corporate places like Giordano's and Home Run Inn. Vince's is not pretty inside. It's a dive place and pretty run down. The outside looks kind of like a bar/strip club. The people are pretty rude when you call to order your pizza and they like to yell at other people when you're on the phone with them. But, this place has been around forever. With all the other pizza places coming and going - this place stays for a reason.

It's probably been 15 years since I've been here. Baked clams were amazing!! Breaded cauliflower was ok. Cheese pizza was really good. Our server was great. Waited a while for our food, but our server was always checking in on us. I'll be back again.

A-OK for food, I'd give them 4 stars for the food, but the facility is a Dive with dirty bathrooms and sticky booths. Sit at a table, they are the closest to clean. If the food wasn't so good, I wouldn't go here at all. Beer is almost cold, glasses are always warm, bar and bathrooms smell like grandmas basement. Have it delivered or pick it up.

vince, the owner is a TOTAL ASSH---E! I came to the buffet lunch for the first time.and was told by an old woman unfriendly to sit anywhere I want. I was getting my soup when I hear some one yell you can sit at this table. when the bill came I took out my credit card and the waitress started laughing at me. go see vince she said. so I go see vince and he starts yelling at me that he is in business and has to make a profir, and can't make money taking credit cards for under $10. he said there are signs all over the place saying that. NO that is not true. since I don't carry cash, I had to go to my bank and cash a check, go back, and pay him. he was so very rude he never said thank you, especially after coming back to pay him a lot of people probably would not have! done that. DO NOT GET THE FISH!! before I went to the buffet I got the walleye. I don not know what type of fish it was, it did not taste like walleye. in fact it did not taste like a fish at all. it was bone dry and had no taste. it felt like I was eating chalk. it was horrible, there also is a waitress with a blonde ponytail, who is the coldest unfriendly one I ever encountered, she never smiles or talks to you. she and the owner probably had an argument, because I heard her say to another customer, oh yeah! I can show you what crabby is like. don't believe all the good reviews about the food. vince probably wrote them himself. IF YOU WANT REALLY GOOG FOOD GO TO TINAS SHE HAS A MUCH BETTER STAFF.

After living in the Garfield Ridge area for almost 20 years, my wife and I decided to try Vince's Pizza for dinner last night. Worst decision we have ever made in our 34 years of being married! Being gluten free, I was surprised to read that their menu had a gluten free pizza. I read the reviews that were written on this "hell hole", and they were 100% correct ... Terrible food, horrendous service, the restaurant looks like it should be torn down and made into a parking lot! I won't even comment on the low life "customers" that were seated at the bar! No other customers were in the restaurant (no surprise there), yet it took 50 minutes for an individual gluten free pizza and an individual regular cheese pizza - and no, nobody was picking up any orders, we could hear the "kitchen staff" yelling and swearing at each other! Our waitress was a trainee, so her "mentor" was teaching her the right way ... Be rude to the customers and don't give them good service. I was only able to get another glass of wine after I waved my arms at her - my empty glass sat at the end of the table for almost 15 minutes. Our leftover pizza went directly in the trash when we get home. We love our dog too much to even give a taste! Please close this restaurant, nothing good came out of our experience!

Delicious Pizza. Just ordered a few nights ago. We live in the neighborhood so it is out place to order delivery from. It is always very good, I have not had a bad pizza yet. I have also been there for the buffet during lunch. Place does not get busy, not sure why. It is cheap, maybe $8 a person with out drinks. The food they have set out is great! Vary's daily. I completely agree with the other Yelper. GIVE THE BUFFET A TRY! IT IS GREAT. And yes, even for us Hispanic people. The only thing I would not recommend is the wings. Ordered them for the first time last week. Not so good. But since they get everything else right they get five stars. FYI...I found a coupon for $2 for a pizza on their website that I clicked on through Yelp.

The pizza was decent but the service not so much. First off, the place looks like a dive pizza restaurant. Nothing special. The newer waitress failed to tell us the time it would take for us to get the pizza and she also didn't check on us very much. How rude!

I coach Elementary volleyball and we decided to take out team here after out season-ending tournament (and championship!!!!) to enjoy pizza / soda with all of our players and parents. Mikey took us in on a few hours notice and accomodated 40+ people with no problem at all. The pizza is fantastic and came quick, the service was suburb and we were very well taken care of for a very reasonable price. We may make this an annual stop (for our team dinners). Personally, my family and I already order pizza from here as it is. Thanks to Mikey and his staff for being so great to us and our kids. They even cut our cake for us while we took team pictures. It's good to have places like this in Garfield Ridge!!!! Thanks Vinces!!!!! Byrne Volleyball is grateful.

Have you ever wondered where all the Italian buffets are? Well, I've found one at Vince's. On Sunday after church, we can count on them for a fast lunch that is better than fast food joints. Nothing fancy, just good, homemade food, including hot entres, sides, pizza, and sinfully fattening deserts... all for under $10.00 including tax. I think the lunch buffet is available weekdays as well. You may want to check before heading out their way.

My boyfriend and I live down the block from Vince's and we always get our pizza from them. It's always so good and I've never had a complaint. Last night we had 2 friends over and ordered a pizza with sausage, green pepper and mushrooms. First the delivery Guy wouldn't come up to our 3rd floor apartment to deliver the pizza. Then 2 hours after I ate I was super sick and puking! I thought it was aomehong else until today when my boyfriend and our 2 friends were always very sick. So thank you Vince's for the awesome food poisoning, I will never order from them again.

My daughter and I were making a connection in Midway and learned that our 2 hour layover had turned into 4 hours. What to do to with that time? We decided we would try to find some Chicago-style pizza somewhere near the airport, and, through Yelp, my daughter landed on Vince's Pizza. Tried to rent a car and the cheapest one available at the airport was $112 plus tax. Guess not! Vince's is just 3-1/2 miles from Midway so we took a taxi ($11). We ordered spicy chicken wings, minestrone soup (I love soup and I LOVED this soup at any price, but $1.50 for a cup?!?), deep dish pizza (the smell of the cheese when that pizza hit our table was so wonderful; we just knew the pizza would be too) and some bread pudding (very flavorful but very different from the bread pudding I'm used to). Also had two glasses of wine (very generous pour) and two coffees. All the food was yummy and came to $34 including tax. Best part of the whole experience was the waitress Stacy, who is part of the family of owners. She was super helpful in every way, and got us all fixed up with our return transportation to the airport. She even walked us out the door and pointed out the bus stop for the bus that would take us directly to Midway ($2 pp and runs every 15 minutes). We had such a pleasant time at Vince's and it sure beat cooling our heels at the airport. Try them out if your travel permits. You'll be glad you did!

Pizza here is pretty good. I enjoy ordering from this place so I never dine in. It's a neighborhood hang out for a few so it's like a dive bar/restaurant pizza place but take out is always on time, reasonably priced and feeds the worm. If you are into thin crust and are in the neighborhood by all means check this place out!

  • Krys J.

They DELIVER cavatelli! It is almost impossible to fulfill my craving for the 'good stuff' from the comfort of the couch. For all of about $10, a wonderful person will arrive at the door bearing an aluminum container brimming w/my luscious little dumplings, dolloped w/fresh ricotta, coated in marinara AND baked w/a mountain of mozzarella. Lastly, to top it all off there is a side of soft, crusty bread to complete my meal of carb overkill. Oh, the other food that people have ordered w/me has also been well received.

I have been ordering Vince's for years, not sure why I haven't reviewed it until now. Well, Vince's is great. The owner is so passionate about his food and its quality, that he almost comes to tears. They have thin and thick pizza, stuffed, pan, calzone pizzas(up to 18"), regular panzarotti, and even a "Romana Pizza"(thick crust, spiced fresh tom. and sauteed spinach in garlic and olive oil.) The pizzas alone will keep you scrambling for what you REALLY want to order before you change your mind again! 23 toppings(check first--some are premium and dbl. premium). They have appetizers, salads ,GREAT sandwiches, pasta, seafood, FRESH veal dishes ,ribs, chicken (broiled, fried, sauteed, and var. Italian)and steaks. The only dinner over 10-11 bucks is the veal, so it's great food at low prices. There is almost too much good stuff. It takes me forever to decide what I am going to order. If you took the food and put it in a restaurant up North, in a bland/sterile setting, you would be charged double or triple of what you pay here, and it would be worth it. Instead, the atmosphere is very blue-collar, South side, dark interior. It may seem even more so if you are not from the South side. Big deal. It's clean and the food is great. I mostly have it delivered, but have eaten there. It's laid back service, for sure, but no complaints from me. The stuffed pizza I had delivered this past week came PIPING hot. PIPING! No cold orders here. If you wait a bit longer for delivery, it is because they are actually caring about the quality of how it is made and tastes, not because of some scam delivery dis-organization.[-cough-Palermo's-cough-]. The reason why it is not 4 stars because of it's drabness look and slightly slow waiting service is because the food TRUMPS any negative aesthetics here! Try it. Try many things.

Best pizza in the chicago land area and it has been that way for quite a long time. I remember going to vinces in the 80s and it is still as good now as it was then. If you want a great pizza... go to vinces.

The best in town! Heard it straight from the Italiano's mouth & from me mexican pizza freak! I love theIr pizza & everybody I invite for a bite has to have their number & becomes a fan as well! On the other hand, the two brothers who co- own the place are sarcastic rude butholes but who cares the pizza is great the wings are crappy & fries suck as well. I have no complaints about the rest of the menu it is alright but then again it is not called vince wings or crappy fries or alright spaggeht IT IS CALLED VINCE PIZZA SO STICK WITH THE PIZZA! They have a full bar but who wants to hear the two brothers at their best & that's being asses! They know me well & I had to gain their respect so they no longer give me a hard time for nothing! Don't take offense from them taste the pizza & you will see why I put up with their crap! I killed them with kindness but now they talk bad about other customers to me & I feel awkward about it! So just ignore them & remember that you came to eat a great tasting pizza & enjoy!

It may not look like a pizza place outside and the inside, but there is pizza here! I usually take Vince's for delivery. There is take-out or you can just sit at the restaurant. When I open up the pizza, some of the stuff are stapled. It's hard to open the pizza then if you staple it! The service is pretty good. The staff are nice and friendly. The delivery guy is nice and friendly too! I'm really happy there are nice people in this pizza place! The look of the interior is not too bad. It doesn't like your average pizza parlor interior. There is a bar here, and there is a small and open wall for ordering take-out. The best part about Vince's is the food. I usually get pizza. The pizza tastes really good! It's a different and good taste. The sauce tastes good with the crust and cheese. I also get mostacholi. It tasted pretty good. The sauce had a good taste with the pasta. The mozzarella sticks at Vince's are good too! It's nicely breaded and the cheese has a good taste. All in all, good food, good service, but the stapling on the pizza needs to stop. I will be back here!

Stopped in while at the park for just some appetizers. I guess we should have just stuck with pizza. The jalapeno poppers were of the frozen variety so not very good. The chicken wings were terrible. We did not feel good after we ate them. The decor and facility looks like it needs a Restaurant Impossible makeover. These other reviews about the pizza being great should have been a clue to just order pizza. Definitely don't eat the wings!

Vince's Pizza and Restaurant is hands-down the best Chicago pizzaria. The homemade pasta dishes and Chicken Scarpiello with marinated peppers are always thoughtfully prepared and upon asking learned that they are also homemade. Since 1972, our family and friends have been enjoying Vince's. Many other places have come and gone but none have measured up to the consistency and flavor of the food from this establishment. We just had a deep dish pizza for dinner and felt compelled to share our review. Again, we were NOT disappointed. Do not leave Vince's until you try the bread pudding. I even have a northside friend who will not open her door unless I bring her a to go container of this heavenly treat.

Went there for a party a few days ago. The pizza and calamari were very good and the service was great.
